I didn't have my fundal height measured but I was absolutely massive, and my twins were 6lb2 and 6lb12 born at 38 weeks. I was amazed how much my body could handle, even if I couldn't tie my shoes or wear trousers in the end![]()

I recall a woman on another forum got to 40+ weeks with her two and they were both over 9lb... she was MASSIVE!Not sure about fundal heights etc.
DD was only 7lb when born at 38 + 3 and I felt huge with her although both pregnancies I seem to be carrying all to the front..
Traveler: One of the benefits of being pregnant with twins over summer means I can wear thongs and ssssstttttrrrrreeeeettttcccchhhhhyyyy dresses...
MrsC: As you can see from my sig pic I'm also carrying low as well, so low in fact that I even have to roll my undies down hehehe and that photo is a week and a half old now. I'm looking forward to my 24 week scan next week. All I keep getting told is that both twins are measuring a "good size" and are always bigger than my dates. My guys are still head down though as I am always getting hip pain on one side or the other and both seem to enjoy kicking each other...especially around my belly button.. there goes one now..
Tanya: OMG 9lb each baby, gulp I hope mine don't get that big..
my twins wer big for their gestation but unfortuately they came out 10 weeks early
i measured full term at 26 weeks
yes definately amazing how far bodies can stretch
Hi Kelly,
I'm about 5'7 and I measured full term at 32 weeks with our twins. They were born at 37 weeks and 6 days, a day before I was booked in to be induced. DS was born 7pd 6oz, DD was 6pd 12oz.
I was big towards the end but still manageable.. I was out shopping the day before they were born and got a lot of stares! It's not until I look back at photos of my tummy now that I realise just how big I was. DS must have been pretty squashed towards the end because he took weeks to stretch his legs out and fill out the legs of his bonds suit!
I had alot of ppl tell me i was huge but really i was no bigger than what i was with my first baby! I had my twins at 36wks 5 days, 4 days before i was booked in for a c section. Also i was already getting out of breath around 20wks! I think the girls just sat in the wrong spot!
Good luck with the rest of ur pregnancy, twins are just amazing![]()
Hi Kelly,
We all know how you feel - i was massive had to finish up work at 23weeks and was measuring around 8-12 weeks ahead! Like the others have said it's amazing what the body copes with - i really thought i was going to have mine early and was prepared from around 30-32 weeks but the time continued to pass as i became more and more uncomfortable i lasted til 36+4 and my boys were 2kg and 2.6kg - both of mine were head down from early on and i can't remember exactly when but "Twin 1" was engaged super early and every time i stood up or walked i felt like he was going to drop out lol! - Chin up your doing a great job - pregnancy massage was a blessing for me and i went fortnightly then weekly and that was the only thing that helped - oh and being in water (but i realise you don't exactly have alot of time on your hands!). Rest rest rest or as much as you can - you will be very proud of yourself by the end - well i was anyway! Take care
xxxxBella
Thanks Bella
I have notice the past week how much more pain and discomfort I'm getting "down there". It feels like it is swollen and the only way to get relief is to lay down. Luckily for me DD goes to bed about 7pm each night so after dinner I go to bed early and watch TV and put my feet up.
I was really struggling yesterday and today as DD was a crazy child at playgroup and at one stage I had to run to catch her and I mean full on run so I don't think that helped much. I have my 24 week scan on Thursday so will be interesting to see how big they will be but all I know is they have big feet lol...
