34 weeks. But if they are a good size and have lung maturity my Ob said they can generally stay in Ballarat at 32 weeks. My appt is at my Ob's office today but I think I'll be on regular CTG monitoring at St John's from this appt until they arrive.
Oh, forgot to mention that I am having morning tea with some of the mum's from the Ballarat Multiple Birth Association tomorrow morning. I was sent details of the anti natal night but it is being held on the 17th & 24th May (I think) which won't work for me, so I asked if there was anyway I could have a chat to some mums - especially mum's who had toddlers when the twins were born - so I can get a realistic idea of what to expect. I'm sure it will be an interesting morning for sure. They have also cancelled the playgroup until May as well due to renovations at the place they hold it, so I won't get to go now until after the boys arrive.
Gosh! 4 pound each! You must be feeling heavy! I haven't even really started to pop out yet, I'm still sleeping on my tummy and everything, though it is getting a little less comfy every day.
I'll be interested to see how big I get because DH's family is known for giant babies but my family is notorious for tiny babies!
Fantastic size, I have my growth scan next week to check how big they are now but Twin A's head is 4/5th engaged now and Twin B is breech. My Ob told me today that if I go in to labour between now and 35 weeks and if I get to hospital around 8cm dialated then we will be proceeding with a VB as there won't be enough time to do a c/s. GULP, I have never contemplated having to have a VB at all but he said if they in this case as they will be premmie things can happen much faster and also with them being smaller then they will just "slip out". So the next 3 weeks we will know one way or another and if we make it past 35 weeks then he will look at booking a c/s date....

Does anyone know how they come up with the measurement on the tummy. I forgot to ask OB what it was yesterday .
Can I do it myself , with the measuring tape ?
Last visit I was 3 weeks ahead, I'd love to know how yesterday went .
the measurement is from the top of your pubic bone, to the top of your fundus (the peak of your bump). You can do it yourself but I'm curious that you are being measured at all, the information (as I understand it) has no clinical relevance with multiples.
could be there is research out there that gives some relevance to their measurements, or maybe it's something that's done in Australia and not in Scotland. I didn't have my fundal height measured from the moment we knew it was twins (21 weeks) onwards. I was under the impression that the extra scans (which I incidentally declined), combined with the large variances in twin pregnancies made the fundal height data useless. I would have been quite interested to know what mine was at the end though.
My Ob always measured me as standard practice and because I was always interested in how big I was growing. As I started to get further into my pregnancy my Ob also used it as an indication to when he should start givng me steriod injections to mature the twins lungs in the event of premature delivery as I was measuring full term for a singleton by 28 weeks and we just weren't sure how much more my body could take.
Saying all of that though my boys were born at 37 + 4 weighing in at 2.63kg's (5lb 8oz) & 2.77kg's (6lb 1oz) and at my last appt before delivery I was measuring at 52 weeks for a singleton. I was originally scheduled to have the boys at 38 + 4 and my Ob commented in theatre that they probably could have stayed in for another week but I was sooooo ready for them to come out.
My OB always measured me too, at 36 weeks I was measuring 44 for a singleton, first pregnancy though. I liked to know too to compare. Not sure if you can google size by weeks. My OB always wrote it on my report card also I think xxx. PS Bengal I have progressive belly pics in one of my facebook photo albums x
BDT : I have looked at your progressive shots a few times : and have always felt re assured by them, because at this stage of my pregnancy, I am a lot smaller than a fellow BB'er who has a singleton onboard, and is of the same gestation.
The vomiting has subsided over the last few days, so I expect to put on more than the 2 kilo's I have only put on so far. Fatten these babies up
Though, I really want to be sensible with my diet.
Bengal - my ob always measured me too. I only ever measured about 4 weeks ahead of my dates. All up I only gained about 13 kg's - although some of those kilo's replaced the ones I lost from morning sickness. I had progressive shots on FB too (let me know if you want to see them ) and lots of peope commented "Are you sure there is twins in there??" to start off with which I hated. My girls were quite small when they were born at 35 wks but they are beautiful, thriving girls.
Mrscricket : I only just noticed your reply. I would love to see some belly shots. I had another measure on Friday and I am 4 weeks ahead in size too . I am having a "big belly" day today and I can tell there is no way I will be able to wear my general tops in my wardrobe for much longer.
The twins where head down looking at each other on Friday - the OB said " you can see why twins are so close"

I think we might have to add each other because of my privacy settings. I am a very boring friend to have lol, I just talk about my kids and upload photos of them a lot
So cute they were looking at each other! Mine were in the position at most ultrasounds that one always literally had her bottom in the other ones face Nice..
My girls are really starting to know each other now and interact more. It is so so cute. This morning DD1 had a toy and was dropping it on the tiles, and every time DD2 would laugh her head off, like it was the funniest thing she had ever seen. They really are so much fun
