When/if you decide to transfer, the new insurer should take care of cancelling the old insurance for you. After the problems you've had I too would be wanting somthing in writing to confirm both bubs will be covered.
You can also have your hospital with one insuere and your extras with another if you choose to.

we are with HCF and couldn't be happier we have top family plus multi cover.
as far as i know with most places you have to have family cover for 6 months brfore you give birth. so it all sounds a bit fishy to me.
funny thing is this time with my twins im going Private but the babies have been booked in public. i know a lady who had twins who needed special care and she left the hospital with a $15,000 bill. as her insurer only covers up untill a certain $ amount and her babies care cost more than thay pay. this time i get the nice room and stuff with the bubs but they are all free no matter what care they need.
