I thought I would try asking some multiple mummies this question and see what you think.
We are looking at taking a trip when pregnant with twins (will be 28 weeks). We were planning on going to the zoo for part of that trip for DS. Now... at 28 weeks pregnant with two babies, would you have been able to walk around the zoo etc? Its not been an easy pregnancy thus far and just trying to work out what is possible and what we can do...
Im not a twin mum but I was still active up until the day before CS with my triplets. I took DS to the beach and water playgrounds without issue. Just afterwards you want to put your feet up!
At 28 weeks I would of been fine, provided I had taken it easy the day before and had the occasional rest while at the zoo. I hit the wall at 30 weeks, and so did my 2 other 'pregnant twin mummy' friends. While I am still walking ok etc, I am having heaps of Braxton Hicks which makes it uncomfortable to walk very far.
at 28 weeks pg with my twins i couldnt walk more than 500 metres before having to sit down till the BH stopped. But then again i gave birth at 30 weeks
i was the same as mrs cricket- i could walk ok, it was the BH that were stopping me!
I emigrated to Scotland when 19 weeks with twins, and it temporarily put me in a wheelchair (very severe SPD). At 28 weeks I was still recovering but if I was going somewhere that required a lot of walking I would not go, or make sure I could hire a wheelchair if needed. However if I had not had SPD I think I would have been fine. I had enough energy to keep going, it was just excruciating to walk.
Thanks everyone I guess we are going to have to play it by ear as to how we go as it sounds like it varies for everyone as these things do. Hopefully we will work out something so everyone is involved on the day
