Hello all,
I am new to this site so hope I get this right.
I am looking into doing a Doula course through either CBI or Optimum Birth.
I read that through Optimum Birth it is all done over the internet. You download everything and read from the computer, is that right?
As I have a young family, 4 boys aged 11, 10, 4 and nearly 1, I really can't spend all my time on here. I would really prefer to be able to sit and pick up a book. Lol, sounds like the old days of studying.
Also because I have dial up, even the free download through them took ages. I can't get anything other than dial up here.
If there is anyone that has done the courses through these, or other places, please let me know as I am wanting to start ASAP. As a friend is preg I am going to try and use her as one of my first 3, lol. Cheeky I know, but there are 4 people I know due but the others are due now or in a few weeks, she is due in June.
I hope this makes sense.
Thanks heaps in advance.
Melanie

Thanks for replying.
But don't you study for the CBI with books and just do the exams etc online?
CBI has both options - you can do it all online, or you can be sent hard copies of the manuals and then just do the assessment online.
You have to pay for the full course up front to get the hard copy manuals. I found it worth it to do it that way - not only while I was studying but even now it's good to have the hard copies to look at if I want to refresh on something.
CBI is a fantastic course and they really have the delivery of it down pat, and the support is great.
Thanks Tobily. That's what I needed to know. I would find it hard to sit on the comp all day reading things when I have two young ones to chase after. I would rather sit down where I can see them and read something. Plus I also thought of the refreasher part as well.
Thanks so much.
How long ago did you do it through them?
