The problem is that issues caused by introducing solids too early can take a long while to show up, so you most likely won't be able to tell yet whether or not there is a problem. These problems then usually stay with the child throughout their life.
Something else to consider anyway. Especially when there is no down-side to not starting when they are ready. As they don't need food until around 12 months, waiting won't hurt.
