Not all Christian religions require Godparents though. My gf had her Children Baptised (Lutheran) and none of the three kids have Godparents

I had my DD christened at the Uniting Church and it was very simple
There is no age but my DD was very young as she had to fit into the same gown I wore, my sister, my cousins, my mum and sunties and uncles and even my grandmother all wore it too and its a big tradition in our family
Some churchs dont require even a donation or a fee its a blessing they love to do for people.
My DD doesn't have godparents either as I didn't want conflict in the family and friends so we decided against it
