Costume help!!!

Hello,

Not sure if this is the right place.. but ... Im going to a Grecian, Roman, Egyptian and Indian/Bollywood Themed Party...

Im having problems deciding what DH and I should wear. Now Im not a skinny person so costume shops arent really a good idea. I was thinking of going Bollywood.. I love all the colours! I was thinking of going to a Indian clothes shop and looking around. But someone told me the outfits can cost around $200..

I thought maybe get DH some white cotton/linen pants from target/bigW/Kmart but not sure about the top.. I looked on one site for a gold top and its like $500!!

Thats a little much for a one off outfit.. Any suggestions.. I only have one week to organise everything..

Try ebay. I've seen saris on there in the past so maybe they ahve bollywood costumes too.

Spotlight?
Buy a few metres of a fabulous print and wrap away!

Maybe you could buy something in a bold colour and stencil a print on with gold spray paint and sequins.

what a choice of dress-ups! I love fancy dress parties

I would go the Egyptian style, just for the cool eye make-up and cleopatra wig

I like the Spotlight suggestion tho, buy a length of fabric, and wrap!

I was thinking even Grecian style would be easy (and cheap) to do. Just wrap a plain white sheet around yourself and wear leaves in your hair.

Someone at work suggested going a little of everything..

Ok I need to fess up.. I went to an Indian shop!! haha Im going to a bride! hahaha

I got 50% of the sari and 30% off DH outfit.. I found a stunning sari all pre-wrapped.. OmG it was beautiful but way too much money.. I got hand tats, bangles and bindi.. They put some little bindi's on my DD.. lol so cute..

Now Im excited.. lol
