no advice hun but a big

I am also in the same situation, so I know how you feel my mum has also decided not to come to DS 1st birthday. Her reasoning is that it is too cold down here, we are Victoria and she lives in Qld. That really is her only reason, she can afford the flight and accommodation is no problem and she has also had plenty of time to organise it with her work.. but no its too cold here. Sorry to ramble, but it has really upset me
