Smile Help needed with a short poem please!

I am trying to write poems for Masons god parents to have printed onto candles for his christening.

This is what I have written for his godmother:

I want you to know how lucky I feel
To have a godmother like you
Someone who will always love me
    no matter what I do

Thank you for always being there
And watching me as I grow
You are certainly very special to me
Much more than you'll ever know.

    Love Always, Mason

    What do you think?

Now I need to write something for his godfather and I am stumped! I kinda wanted to stear away from the lovey dovey bits iykwim?

    Any advice would be great

Maybe something about the qualities of a godfather, look up to him as he grows up, play footie with - will think more on this and get back to you!

Ok, just did this really quickly, but how about something light, but nice like:

Thank you for taking on this role
    and being my God-dad
I know you'll do the job so well
And teach me good from bad.

As I grow up you'll play with me
And we'll have lots of fun
I really am a lucky lad
Because I am your God son.

    Thanks guys!

Kellie: google some poems and change some words and it will give you an idea on rhyming. It doesnt help when youre a new mum and your brain is a bit mushy
