Help..Parks around Melbourne....

We have Isabelle's dedication on the 25th November - we just need to find a venue!

Its going to be outside, in a park somewhere preferably with some sort of gazebo in case of rain. There will only be around 25 of us and we also need bbq/toilet facilities.

I would like it to be near water too - (fussy aren't I) so far my options are:
Studley Park - Not very flat though....
Albert Park Lake - a teeny bit far - although probably the number one choice
Black Rock Bluff - No facilities - killer view though
Warrandyte - not sure of a bbq area where we can be a bit private

Any other places you lovely ladies know of around Melbourne, maybe on the Yarra or near the beach??

Have you tried looking at the Parks Victoria website?? It lists every park/reserve in the state and what each one has to offer, might help

Eltham?! There is a nice park there with a lake... well there was a while ago! Um, Lilydale Lake? Ringwood Lake (I think it is called something else though!!)

There's Birdlands Park in Belgrave/Tecoma, just lovely with a lake and all, a double bbq and several picnic tables.
Belgrave Lake with the same facilities (and a cottage you might be able to use?)

In Olinda, there's the Aboretum with a rotunda and bbq's - just next to the Golf Course.

Then there's the Alfred Tindale Gardens in lower parts of Olinda.

Actually, lots of places in the Dandenongs - PM me if you want some addresses etc.

there is bundoora park- plenty road bundoora
has gazebos, toilets bbq's and even a wildlife park in there that you can pay to go into-but its not expensive
have a look at the web- its a great park that has plenty of private areas as well!!!

Otherwise have a look at Westerfolds park in Templestowe or there is Ruffy Lake Park which has great playgroup equipment gazebos ect

queens park in moonee ponds? what about the zoo? botanic gardens, fitzroy gardens?

Werribee zoo, Melbourne zoo, Botanical gardens, Queens park moonee ponds, Yarraville gardens, Williamstown botanical gardens, Lots of places in dandeongs as others have allreeady said!!

what about the Fitzroy Gardens in the city?? I think they have a fairy garden there if my memory serves me correctly??

I was going to suggest Westerfolds as well (Templestowe)... also has a GREAT kids play area near the gazebo's and it is a very short stroll to the river...

Alistair Knox Park in Eltham has a couple of "ponds"... but they look more like mud baths now...

Carlton Gardens (near the muesum) is nice but no gazebo's there
