    Christening Gift - A Bracelet?

I just wondered if anyone thinks buying my new God-Daughter a little bracelet would be too much as a Christening present? Depending on whether it's gold or silver (waiting on her parents confirmation LOL) it'll be around $60 - $80, possibly a bit more if I get one engraved. She's 2.5 years old & I'm looking at one that will grow with her so to speak, so she wear it as she gets older too.

Otherwise if anyone has a suggestion of something else for her I'd appreciate it. The Christening is on Sunday & it's taken me all this time to come up with this idea so I'm running out of time!

I think it's a lovely idea. I brought a charm bracelet for a friends little girl for her Christening present. I thought it's something the can keep forever and add too.

Great idea Sarah. Tehya got a solid gold bangle for her baptism from my grandfather. Only problem is that I have had to take it offher now as was getting too small. I am going to get more gold put into it.

So a bracelet is a great idea. If you are wanting one to fit her now though you can always opt to get the extra links taken out of it and give them to her parents so it can be resized as she gets older.

I agree that it is a wonderful idea Sarah. I had a bracelet with my name engraved on it as a child (still have it in my keepsake box) and I was desperate to have one for DD to wear at her Christening - but couldn't find one I liked. I gave up on the idea and to my wonderful surprise, her Godmother had bought her a gorgeous bracelet as a Christening gift - for her to wear that day! SO, I think it is a lovely gift to buy your Goddaughter!

    Yep, beautiful idea Sarah!

My DD has two bangles, one silver, one gold and she still can't wear them cause they're too big and she takes them off too easily. I don't want her to lose them, especially the gold one as my sister brought it for her for her christening. It's one of the adjustable ones so I know when she finally keeps it on it will last her years.

If I have another girl this time I'm going to buy her a tiny one so she can wear it straight away. I'd have done this with DD too if I'd known she still wouldn't be able to wear hers at 2.5!

I found out from Piper's dad that she's a silver girl so that made it easier, then went hunting. No such luck at the shops, I just couldn't find anything I liked. So late yesterday I searched the net thinking if I got something a few days late they'd understand. I found a website based in Melbourne & they are fantastic. The lady was lovely, made Piper's bracelet last night & is express posting it today at no extra charge

What I've ordered is a dainty little silver bracelet with three charms on it. It has a silver heart, amethyst stone (her birthstone) and a little disc with her name engraved The links are fairly plain which will make it easy to add to as she gets bigger & I can add charms for her over the years. I can't wait to see it & see her reaction on Sunday when I give it to her.

PS I'll make sure I post some photos when it arrives.

I bought both my nephews a silver ID bracelet for their christenings and my neice a gold one. I think its a lovely idea. Wish someone did for Jesse. Might have to buy a late one for him to put away.

My parents gave Nina a bracelet when she was born. It's silver with 2 pink hearts on it, with her name engraved on it. It's gorgeous. It fits her now, and will also fit her when she's an adult.

It was absolutely gorgeous & she loved it when I gave it to her this morning. I put it on her & she walked to her mum and "oooh mummy I've got a bangle like my Breannon" (her sister). All day she was walking around & would stop & have a look at it every now & then!! I took some photos before I gave it to her, then left the camera at home But I'll upload them a bit later after my nanna nap
