Dress up parties when you're pregnant?

Help - I need ideas.

My brother's girlfriend has just announced that she will be having a fairytale themed dress up party for her 21st. I will be 31 weeks pregnant! What on Earth am I meant to go as? I could just pull the 'I'm pregnant therefore not getting into the spirit' but I think she would be really insulted.

So far I have thought Shrek since he has a big belly or Humpty Dumpty (again big belly) but neither are really traditional fairy tale.

Any ideas????

Do u have to go as a pregnant character? What about old Lady who lived in a shoe? Surely with that many kids she was pregnant at some point!? Lol

Otherwise just go as anything but with a pregnant twist? Lol

Personally I think you should pick a Disney princess. There must have been babies in their happily ever after right?

I have only been to one dressup party while pg and it was a cartoon theme so still difficult, what dh & I ended up going as were woody & bo-peep from toy story... I figured they were a couple so it was ok they were having a baby so I guess if it were me I'd probably just puck any fairytale couple and flaunt my big beautiful pg belly!

Rapunzel's mother started all the trouble by sending her husband to steal plants from next door because she had cravings.
FWIW in the Grimm Brother's original version of Rapunzel which was a little earthier than modern versions she gets pregnant during the Prince's visit to her tower.

BTW I think shrek classifies as fairytale now days and Fiona was pg in the 2nd 1...???

I went to a Halloween party at 36 weeks as a poison apple. Hubby went as Snow White. If you want to see my costume, PM me.

This year there's a costume party when I'll be 40 weeks. Thinking about going as Sigourney Weaver from Alien.

I had thought the princesses could be up the duff but then questioned myself. I think I was trying to be too creative. Great ideas which are much appreciated. Now to think about what will actually fit me lol. My bridesmaid was 8 months pregnant at our wedding, I wonder if she still has the dress..... If she does that could make things easier. Which female fairytale character wears a yellow dress? Was it Belle from beauty and the beast?

Given that most fairy tale/Disney heroines are pretty, normal height/tall and thin, are fat women going to be berated for "artistic lisence" by going as a fairy tale heroine? Or short women? Or ugly women? Didn't think so. So why not just go as who you like?

Clearly finding the dress to fit would be more the issue, but sounds like you have the Belle option if that's what you wanted.

A lot of the princess dresses had big hoops at the bottom. Fitted at the top then a big hoop top and bottom
