Yes i know...on our honeymoon and writing this, but its too dusty outside to do anything today.
Thursday: Woke up as sick as a dog. Sinus infection, flu, high temps, dizziness, hot cold flushes. Had a minor breakdown when DHs fmaily arrived. I just couldn't cope with anyone around. My family and his family sat around asking what they could do. I was cleaning the bathroom, went to get the vaccuum out when my mum told me to sit down. All I could do was say " I can do it!!!!" I knew I had to relax but there was so much to do.
I was sad and upset and missing DD like crazy as MIL took her for the whole day and then overnight so I could relax. I can't sleep properly when DH is't there let alone when neither DH or DD are there. MOH arrived at 11pm and stoked my head until i was relxed enough I feel asleep. Still not feeling crash hot and had a fainting moment that night.
Friday: Woke up early to go and pick DD up...missed her like CRAZY!!!
8.30am - hair dresser and make up arrives
9am - my brother arrives unexpectedly and causes all sorts of transport issues. He wasn't invited to the wedding (whole other story)
9.30am - decorations arrive
11am - i'm banging on the door of our spare room to get one of the groomsman out of bed that was meant to be doing 2 trips to the venue. One with decorations, computer and boys clothes and one with my dad and other brother.
11.30am - MIL rings asking if the make up person can go to the hotel where the wedding is when she is finished and do her make up WTF!?!?!?
12pm - groomsman gets his butt sorted and goes to the hotel with decorations but neglects to leave music and cords there.
1,30pm - Groomsman is back at home to pickup dad and brother. Other groomsman turns up and they spend 30mins messing around. I YELL and tell them to get the F out of my house and go to see DH who is stressing because they have everything he needs to get ready.
2.30pm - All dressed, hair done and arrive at hotel. Best Man knocking on the door to tell me that DH's shirt hasn't arrived at the hotel. Call from DH telling me how p***Ed off he is and how it's all s**t and his not doing this anymore etc etc etc
3pm - mum and I drive the 30mins home to get DH's shirt
3.50pm - we arrive back at hotel.
4pm - Ceremony. All went great. DH cried when he saw DD in her dress and me. Celebrant did an AWESOME job.
Had photos - all went well here. Can't wait to get them back,
Recepetion went so well. Everyone LOVED the cupcakes. I was so happy with how it all ran, everyone had a great time and the food was amazing.
Did have a few little issues with the hotel though....
They were meant to let DH or I know when bar tb reach $750 rather they came to us when it was at $830. I was like "no, sorry, you were meant to let me know at $750 and i'mn not paying that much." they thankfully only changed us the $750. More alcohol came out during the bar tab than when the package was going which we weren't happy about because it meant people weren't drinking cause there was none coming out. We didn't get the champagne and chocs in our bridal suite and massive issues with rooms and the wrong people being booked into the wrong rooms.
Overall, A great day was had by all. Great memories and great times. But.....
I will NEVER EVER EVER EVER EVER organise another wedding again LOL
... think that might explain WHY i'm still not married, LOL
... Overall i'm so darn happy the ceremony was wonderful & the reception sounded fab (apart from the bar tab ... but hey people should be grateful they got to drink a few anyway)
Hope you put up some Wedding pics in your gallery later on when your back when you have time of course (i LOVE Wedding pics can't you tell)
Weddings arent weddings without a few hiccups! Sounds like it was a brilliant day tho!! Congrats & enjoy your honeymoon! Im with S4U .. complete wedding photo addict here
A wedding wouldn't be a wedding without something stuffing up... we were meant to get married in the park by the beach but we copped about 300mm of rain on the Friday night before the Saturday lunchtime ceremony
We ended up getting hitched INSIDE the pub... was a fabulous day and one of the funniest stories I can tell!!
Your day sounded so lovely! And its like tradition to have a few hiccups it makes you remember your wedding day so well But it really did sound lovely and what a horrible hotel for stuffing up so much!
I'm a bit sad as i won't have the traditional wedding but then it saves me turning into bridezilla
