this one is great , it is call How beautiful and is by twila paris is great with or without the words, hope you like it to.
An oldie but goodie, is Tonight I Celebrate My Love For You by Roberta Flack - it is on her greatest hits album. We learned the box step waltz (2 lessons) and it was great to dance to!
Woo hoo not long to go now hun!!
we had You raise me up by Josh Groban.
Other friends have had Robbie williams angels, Time of my life (from dirty dancing), unchained melody, umm cant think what else.
Oooh "you raise me up" love that song. That was my song at the church.
Ahhh we didn't have a special song so just listened to heaps til I found one that we could treasure that had meaning...it ended up being "you're the inspiration" by Chicago an oldie but a goodie. My mum was stoked as she has loved Chicago for years.
We had Run away by the Corrs. but it kinda had some meaning behind it
my BIL had Bryan Adams Anything I do I do for you
we had Faith Hill/Tim McGraw "it's your love"
also tossed up a couple of others that had meaning - Love me tender (Norah Jones version from Princess Diaries), Bless the Broken Road (Rascal Flatts), The way you love me (boyzone), all my life (k-ci and jojo), amazed (lonestar)
and we DID use this as the fun side of us "wanna grow old with you" - the adam sandler song from "the wedding singer" - love that song!
Amazed by Lonestar is an awesome song
All my life By Kci n jo jo
From this moment by Shania Twain
Truly madly deeply by savage garden
and i think dats all i can think of if i think of any more ill post again
It's another oldie but we had "The way you look tonight" by Frank Sinatra.
I can remember how hard it was to choose a song when we were planning our wedding but when we heard this it just somehow clicked for us. It's been over a year now and I still can't help smiling when ever I hear it played.
Best wishes for a wonderful day.
ooh - old songs - we had Ella Fitzgerald "at last" playing as we signed the certificate - love that song
and "beautiful in my eyes" by joshua kadison, and i know a friend had "angel eyes" by paulini
how about I swear by all for one?
We had "Icecream" by Sarah MacLachlan.
The lyrics go:
Your love is better than icecream,
better than anything else that I've tried
........ ....... ......
And then it goes in another verse:
Your love is better than chocolate
...... ...... ..... .....
and it really suited us, coz we are both foodaholics, and if we love each other ore than icecream and chocolate, then that has to be good!
We had Ben Harper, By my Side, and there is another song of his that I can never remember the name of that is great too - my BIL had it at his wedding....if I can think of it will post again... I would just choose a nice song that reflects who you both are rather than it being a 'wedding" song if that makes sense! All our music was like that throughout the day with music we just loved, so we had Dave Matthews band while signing the register, Coldplay as we walked out and the Corrs when we walked in!
Good luck!!
BG, we wanted to use "It's your love" but good friends of ours beat us to it LOL. Instead we used "Buicks to the moon" by Alan Jackson.
How long will I love you
I don't really know
I'd like the think forever
is how far we could go
So let me paint a picture
of how its gonna be
They day you don't mean
everything to me
When a nickels worth a dollar
and gold aint worth a dime
when they build a ship
on waters that will take you
back in time
When the stars have
all been counted
And I stop loving' you
Honey they'll be driving
Buicks to the moon
Now you don't have to worry
about what comes to pass
This old world may wear out
but my love's gonna last
If they ever build
that highway to the moon
I'll just find somethin' else
to promise you.
Garth Brooks has some really sweet ones, but Country may not be your thang though LOL.
Some good songs mentioned already! Here are some more:
It had to be you - Harry Connick Jr
Heaven (candlelight remix) - DJ Sammy
I'll Be - Edwin McCain
Moondance - Van Morrison/Michael Buble
Come away with me - Norah Jones
All the best! Let us know what you end up choosing![]()
