I think it sounds great, after all, your wedding day is exactly that, YOURS. Yours to plan however you (and your partner) like, it doesn't matter what anyone else thinks.

Thanks everyone.
I'm loving hearing where you all had yours! So many different venues! Its great!!
It may not even be until our 10 year. So the kids are old enough to be looked after so we can escape for our honeymoon![]()
I got married in a haunted castle btw, and more than a minority of people would call that tacky. But I loved it and still love the fact that we did it more than ten years later![]()
basicallly, its your wedding, do what you and your DP want!!!
My brother use to work there, and his flat mate still does, if you want I can ask them how they think the functions are, like if they think people normally enjoy them etc..
We had our reception in a pub. no sit down meal, no offical dance floor, the only decorations were the balloons and confetti my mum bought. Just a courtyard in a pub. And people are still telling us now what a fanstastic time they had.
the only reason I can think as to not do it is to make it special, like not somewhere you go all the time, as it is your wedding, do something you have never done before or somewhere you have never gone before to make it stand out. In saying that, we localled the pub all the time, and I guesss there are other things that will make it stand out and be different.
