Kimmi, it doesn't matter what anyone thinks of your wedding, if this is what you want - do it!

I had a very low budget, low key wedding on my parents property and everyone told me it was the best and most relaxed wedding they'd ever been to. I loved it and that was all that mattered to me anyway.

That is a great idea!!! You can do SOOO much to dress up an outdoor area! It will be amazing to look over your backyard as you guys grow old and be able to say that's where you got married!!!

Who cares about anyone else, people need to remember that being invited to someone's wedding is an absolute priviledge!!! It's not a right to be there but an honour to be there and the day is about YOU and YOUR FUTURE HUSBAND... not anyone else. Do what you guys want, what makes you happy!!!

    xx

    your wedding sounds great..

FWIW Im getting married in Oct and we are having the reception at my parents house with caterers!!

I cant wait for mine and love the fact that I will be celebrating it in the house I grew up in plus its more friendly for my kids..

if our wedding had have been in ballarat we would have had the reception here, we would have saved $6000! so a very wise move IMO if you do. At the end of the day its your wedding, you do it your way!

Budget or no budget, a reception is the celebration party of your union....when you think about it, the location is really irrelevant. It's the company and the party that make it.

My sister recently got married and had to do it on a budget. They also a great idea of building a alter in the back yard which is still there. After the wedding they turned into a sort of garden that they work in together. Regardless of the budget it was a beautiful ceremony and we all had a great time.
