OOh, my first wedding was going to be scarily close to yours Cai! But my initial idea comes from the Eddie Murphy movie Coming to America - you know that insane wedding scene from the start? Awesome. Had fire twirlers and didge players at the ready....

But I did get married in a little stone church in the hills and walked down the aisle to "Arrival of the Queen of Sheba". Of course

I sang a Mexican song at a wedding for the aisle walk for a chick who loved the song when she saw us play it at a gig she came to (she's not Latin or anything remotely more exotic than anglo-celtic, nor is her husband!). It was an outdoor wedding, in a large garden. It's also sung by Linda Rondstadt in Songs of My Father (he was Mexican...duh!) and that's where I learnt of it - called Hay Unos Ojos (literal translation - there are some eyes...not quite carrying the same sentiment), about someone who finds joy and love and fulfilment in his/her lover's eyes. Sounds sappy, but sung in Spanish with a talented classic guitarist, it's not. Lulu - it's on our set list for the 30th

Some awesome ideas there girls thankyou I love the Bittersweet Symphony and the Mandy Moore umbrella. Also thinking of an acoustic version of the Smashing Pumpkin's Tonight.

Cailin, that sounds amazing! We've got a winter theme going on with hand muffs, capes and fairy lights.

Louise hun I had to laugh at the Kissed By A Rose- the first time I got my heart broken was to that song- at a school dance, I looked over to see my first real boyfriend pashing my mortal enemy to the refrains of Seal. Kinda ruined it for me

I walked down the aisle to Pachelbel's Canon.

Signing of the Register we had a song called I Will Be Here by Steven Curtis Chapman
    I Will Be Here
    By Steven Curtis Chapman

Tomorrow morning if you wake up
And the sun does not appear,
    I, I will be here
If in the dark we lose sight of love
Hold my hand and have no fear
?Cause I, I will be here

    I will be here
When you feel like being quiet
When you need to speak your mind
I will listen and I will be here
When the laughter turns to crying
Through the winning, losing and trying
We?ll be together, ?Cause I will be here

Tomorrow morning if you wake up
    And the future is unclear
    I, I will be here
As sure as seasons are made for change
Our lifetimes are made for years
So I, I will be here

    I will be here
You can cry on my shoulder
When the mirror tells us we?re older
I will hold you and I will be here
To watch you grow in beauty
And tell you all the things you are to be
We?ll be together, ?Cause I will be here
    I will be true
To the promise I have made
To you and to the One
    Who gave you to me

    I, I will be here
And just as sure as seasons are made for change
Our lifetimes are made for years
So I, I will be here
    We?ll be together
    ?Cause I will be here

First dance (aka the bridal shuffle) was 'Have I Told You Lately' by Van Morrison.

Lori a winter theme sounds so beautiful! Capes and hand muffs so lovely! When is the big day?

I walked down the aisle to an acoustic version of Everlong by Foo Fighters.
Our bridal waltz consisted of 2 songs... the first was Miracle by Foo Fighters and the 2nd was the proper version of Everlong.

We signed the register to Forever by Ben Harper.

Walked down the aisle to Pachabel's Canon, signing was Izy's Somewhere Over the Rainbow/What a Wonderful World. Our wedding dance was to Dance Me To The End of Love by Eric Bibb (written as a wedding dance song for his son - beautiful but very soppy even for me!) and first 'everyone up and dance' song was Days Like This by Van Morrison. I smile everytime I hear that song now and think of everyone grooving up on the dancefloor.

Awww I really liked the song a few scrolls up - I will be there... It got me a it teary...

Pachelbel's Canon as I walked up the pontoon (we were married poolside at a resort and there were flowers with love messages attatched floating in the pool - gorgeous)

You are so beautiful by Armstrong...
When I first saw your face - Bette Midler.
We walked in to "Dumb Things" by Paul Kelly - I know it sounds a little pessimistic... But I was't the marrying kind - or so I thought, we both love Paul Kelly and we fell in love listening to his albums... It was just a bit of fun - and all who knew us got it ... (except the IL's )
We did the bridal waltz to "I feel good" Nah nah nah nah nah Like I knew that I would - sugar & spice ..... (do you know the one?)
I didn't want the slow dancing thing ...

I walked down the aisle to Ronan Keating's "When you say nothing at all" (which was very sappy for me, but DH didn't want to pick wedding songs with me much, although did OK all the choices)

Can't remember the register signing song, I think it was something instrumental? I'll look at home over the weekend and post later.

Our first dance was to "Dancing Lessons" be Sinead O'Connor from the Faith and Love album.

My father/daughter dance waas acoustic version of "Time of Your Life" by Greenday - everyone came and joined us for the last verse.

We had such an awesome time, still get great comments from friends and family even 2.5years later! It's the best day of your life, enjoy yourselves!

Ok, now this may sound a bit ridiculous, but have a listen to High School Musical 3's 'Can i have this dance'. When I was watching the movie with my dd's, i heard the song and thought it would make a great Bridal waltz. You can see it on youtube.

I walked down the aisle to Savage Garden - is it Truly ,Madly ,Deeply ?? and danced to Lady in Red - (even though i was wearing white.)
Hope you find something you like
