We danced to "Thankyou for Loving me" by Bon Jovi. The words to that song are just beautiful, if I couldn't marry Jon Bon Jovi I had to have him there somehow, LOL.

Oh mako, my DH would have just loved the idea of metallica, being the fan he is. (We even have a metallica Lullabye CD "for DS"

Mummy_of_many ... oh, that is brilliant (Abba song - I do I do I do)... I'm not married BUT I'm there with you on an upbeat song to get everyone in laughing spirits
.... (reminds me of a friends ancient Grandmother who had Dancing Queen at her funeral. So sad she lost the plot in the last few years & spent her days dancing around the house to Abba's Dancing Queen. Oh, well at least it made her Happy
)
Cookiemonster (ASH) ... I'm a concert junkie from way back ... and Bryan Adams takes the cake in concerts. Ask anyone that has been to one of his past concerts & they will rave about him
I was at a Wedding in the late eighties & I hear that the couple were going to have a Midnite oil song as the bridal waltz so I didn't want to miss it ... well I was too busy having a wee in the loo as I got drunk before the waltz had started & yep, you guessed it I missed itThat would have been a sight to see !!
My best friend for her bridal waltz had the popular song from the movie "Ghost" (she got married the year this movie was released)... I've gotta admit it was so corny BUT so them as a couple ... it was suitable
I'd love Pat Benatar's " I'm the Boss " (a jazz version) would be funny !!

"at Last" Ella Fitzgerald was our wedding song ..... *sigh* ..... it was so long ago but I just want to do it over again had the best day...........
I walked down the Aisle to Runaway by the Corrs! It had special meaning to us
I semi tossed up the idea of I want that man by Deborah HarryI wasn't and am still not that confdent enough to pull that one off
What a great thread! When I get some time I'm going to go through here and make a cd!!!
Our song was Moonriver!! I love it what a great love song lol All sex and the city fans remember Carrie and Big dancing to it!?
JAs I was jsut thinking the same thing!!!! I am going to download most of these songs to my ipod!
Our bridal waltz was Truly Madly Deeply-Savage Garden(fits both our hobbies and i love darren hayes
did the signing of the register to Celine Dion-How do i live and to I wanna know love is-Tina Arena/Foreigner and then walked outta church to From this moment-Shania Twain(hey it was 1998)
then at reception we danced to a song that our best man had written for us(my hubbys in a band and is a muso)and then hubby sang to me the old Bon Jovi-Born to be my baby,it was our 1st song..lol...im such a sentimentalist
DH proposed to Ben Harper, didn't plan it, but the place where we were having drinks at sunset was playing it in the background, so that's what I think of!
The most hilarious song though was "You've lost that lovin feeling" sung by DH and 15 of his mates when I came out of the toilet int he middle of the reception. I was squealing with laughter!
Second funniest moment of the wedding was when I got super excited by a song and two of my friends and I did cartwheels along the lawn to it. Can't remember the song - someone has video footage but we can't find it!
Ours were:
Pre ceremony: "This Corner of the Earth" by Jamiroquai
Me walking up the aisle: "Lovely Day" by Bill Withers. It was a remixed jazz version
Us entering the reception dinner: "Crazy Little Thing Called Love" by Queen
Waltz: "Someone Like You" which is a Van Morrison Track, but we had the Dina Carroll cover (from the Bridget Jones movie soundtrack.)
Wow, this thread is so cool! It is great hearing all the different songs people have chosen to mark that special moment. (And Tan, my sis sang Beloved One to my BIL at their reception! Lovely song)
We danced to a song called 'Peace' by a band Acquiesce (which is the band Sarah Blasko was in before she went solo).
Sway by Dean Martin
Stellar by Incubus
I loooove Regina Spektor's version of Real Love...if DH and I could get married again, that would be the song. I am thinking of doing up a slide show of our wedding pics with the song as the backing music....if I ever get around to it!
