Hi all,
Hmm... a friend gave me this poem she wrote- we have an agreement that neither of us like the usual wishing well poems that people include with their wedding invites.
But my question is it a bit too coliquial, or maybe even a bit rude? It's a semi formal kind of invite to a semi formal kind of wedding...
We didn't want to use the poem
About the sheets and the kitchen bin
But yes, we will have a wisheing well
Make a wish and drop something in.
What does everyone think?
(Btw, fore mentioned friend is ok with me posting her work online )
It's such a personal choice, but I think it's quite a good poem if that's what you are wanting to do. Although, it does assume that everyone knows what you are talking about - some people may not get that you are asking for money not presents if it's not spelled out and they haven't seen the original versions before IYKWIM?
Thanks girls- Boomba, that's exactly what we going for!!
Good point Crystal- but I'm quite happy with gifts if that's what people want to bring. The wishing well is provided as a matter of course by our reception place, so I guess this is a good way to say "it's there, use it as you wish to", without actually saying "Give us cash!!!"
Thanks again ladies It's going on the invites right now!!
