Argh how frustrating! Some people never accept responsibility for their actions etc.
My first reaction would be to point out that you made contact, were available BUT I really doubt that you will get the response you deserve and want (given the history etc). So I would get out there and find the perfect job knowing that you have given it your best and couldn't have done anymore. It really sounds like their loss and that you may be much better off elsewhere. xxxx
