You would be awesome Olive! Can I just clarify, I re-read my post and it looks like I think the div 2 does very little which is absolutely not the case. It's just she can't do the actual midwifery bits but she is always around to get whatever equipment is needed, and helps settle women/rub backs/etc. TBH it looks like a great role, and when I qualify as a div 2 nurse (hopefully I can do this at the end of 2nd year) then I would love to go maternity ward div 2 work for extra experience.

The other hospital I train at has also offered students div 2 work on a casual basis from second year and in rehab, for instance, a div 2 does a very similar role to a div 1. There's only a few things the div 2 isn't allowed to do compared to a div 1.
