Your post is a little bit vague LMS. You shouldn't make rash decisions on "someone else thinking that someone is under the impression..."

Most people have clauses in their contracts which say that they will be required to perform other tasks if necessary. Perhaps it's a case of everyone needing to pitch in and help out on the shop floor. There's nothing like working in a place where everyone is happy to muck in and help out to get the place running smoothly.
