    I agree with the other ladies. TTC is a journey that can't be predicted, could be short but can unfortunately be a relatively long one so don't base your choice on that.

    I was offered a promotion even though my employers knew that I was TTC (well I hadn't exactly told them, but there was a reason for them to believe that was the case).

    Also if they think that highly of you, it is easier to negotiate more flexible working hours when you go back to work after having a baby if that is what you choose to do.

    You were offered the promotion on merit. Every employer employs knowing their legal obligations around leave etc, and the offer was made by them with that understanding.

    One of the key tasks for a TL is to develop team members to their full potential. So you'll have a year to train your team, and develop someone you can trust to manage the team while you're away. Plus your pay while you're on Mat Leave will be higher, which gives you more options.

    So congrats on the new job!
