Does the person 'acting' usually get the job?

Just to update you all, I didn't get the job I think they thought it would be too hard as the other person would have to train me etc and she was suitable for it as well. They said that because of my experience they might be able to offer me a temp position so will wait and see. Had a different interview today for something closer to home so you never know. Thanks guys
