Dh has taken some time off work to look for a job in the town we live in rather than have to travel for close to three hours a day to the job he has now...
So while he was looking for work I decided what the heck- I will have a go too, if I get something maybe he can work aorund me, or we can look into day care or something who knows...
He has been chasing down one job all week- should hear something today we hope... BUT this morning I got a phone call for an interview at as a Dental Hygienist!! No experience needed, just some basic office and customer service skills (which I definately have) and there will be training!!! Its only part time, so I am not sure of hours or days yet.. if I need to I have even looked into the kids going into day care if we both end up with jobs.. but WOW!!! I really wasnt expecting this!!! I am soo nervous!!! :-) I am off to the shops today to buy a new proffessional looking nice top (my stay home mum uniform of tracky dacks and tshirt isnt going to cover it I dont think lol)
The interview is at 4:30!!! Wish me luck that maybe its only one or two days a week, that it works out perfectly with the job that DH is going for so that one of us will be able to be home with the kids without them having to go to daycare!!!!

It went really well i think!! The interview went for about an hour- we dicussed lots of things relevant to the job and how i would go with it. Its only a small surgery and I got along well with the Dentist and the other lady who works there! It will only be part time to start and we could go from there!! I had fun getting all dressed up and even if i dont get it it was a really good experience to have an interview!! I am feeling good though! I should hear early next week sometime- i will let you all know how i went!!! :-)
I still havent heard back from them yet. I am not too worried though, I know the office wasnt open on Monday- and they weemed to only be doing one interview a day- so they may have interviewed another person yesterday.. BUT..
I have another job interview today!!!! Both DH and I do- he thought he had missed out on a job he really wanted, (by the employer only receiving his resume a day too late- thanks job network people!!) but anywho- he got a call yesterday for an interview today, and luckily on our way into town yesterday i checked my mobile messages as there was a message for me to call someone back to arrange an interview!!! (strangely they never tried the house phone!! weird!!) So busy busy morning for us!!!!
A bit of a question.. This job is for amuch less formal job, its at a really ezy video store (lol), shoudl i go all out and wear the new red tailored shirt i bought for the other interview or just a nice top. The lady on the phone said it was an informal interview.. how informal is informal though???????
Oh i should add too it fricken freezing here and the new top is short sleeved and fairly thin, so if i wear it i may also need to wear something long sleeved underneath.. might not be a great look
i would still wear the red shirt. i think it shows that you know how to present yourself well when necessary, even if you wouldn't actually be wearing clothes like that at the job.

It went well i think!! This job would suit our family heaps more than the other job.. dh had an interview today too and if we both get the jobs they complement each other perfectly, his finish times work great with my start times. My roster is a fornightly one, and one week the kids would have one day at care, and the next week two days (just seeing if day care are happy to work like that though) and even some...... ALONE MUMMY AND DADDY TIME one afternoon a week!!!! (thats something we have NEVER HAD!!!!)
Well the video store still is fluffing around and hasnt gotten back to anyone yet- something to do with head office having to go through all the applications too or something. But as it turns out DH doesnt finish until really close to 3:30 (the time my arvo shifts would start) so It may not have worked out anyway.
I had another interview for an admin/case worker job that really interested me, but i didnt get that as someone with lots of case worker experience got it instead...
So I applied for Maccas who were advertising positions!!! And I got it!!! There is a thread here !!!
So I am back to working!! Casual easy to work around shifts!! I start on Tuesday!!
EEEEEEKKKK I have a job interview!!!!!
