For most of my childhood I wanted to be an archeologist. Specifically, I wanted to work in the Egyptian pyramids.

For most of highschool I wanted to be a pediatric OT. I did that for work experience and loved it but I wasn't a very motivated student and it took high marks to get in so I kind of gave up on it and ended up deciding I wanted to be an accountant and started a commerce degree. I switched to a Marketing major and worked in marketing for about a year before giving it up.

The desire to work with children wouldn't leave me alone and I ended up going back and doing a second degree in Early Childhood Education (first degree didn't offer any credit so I had to start from the start again). I worked in child care and preschool while studying and with my diploma qualification but now I've been on maternity leave and finishing my degree part time for the past 6 years.

I don't want to be a teacher anymore but I do still want to work with under 5 year old children, and their families so when I'm ready to get back into work I'll give it some more thought. Fortunately my degree does reach a broad range of jobs so I'm not limited to teaching and can still use it in other ways.
