Are internal customers OK. I work for a telco but not customer facing but still have to deal with lots of internal customers who can be just as annoying because they are still paying you in a round about way.....

Maybe local government might be a good start too (although I dont know where they advertise except local papers) there are lots of 'ddesk' type jobs where there is little or no customer contact.

I work for the government, work hard as I like what I do. It is very hard to fire me though
