I went to a seminar about gender differences, and it did actually make me think about doing some things differently.
Eg: it suggested one way men sometimes get promoted over women is because they toot their own horns more - if a project goes well, a guy will tend to say, "cheers - yes, I was rather awesome." whereas a woman will tend to say, "thanks, Jack did this, and Mary did that, and the dinglehopper was Janie's idea - it was a great team effort."
I think that some of the things that were said were overly simplified and overly stereotyped, but some things resonated in terms of negotiating pay rises and marketing and networking - whether it is "male" traits or "business" things, there were several things which made me think, "hey - I don't do that ... but I should."
Some other things that guys do is really different from what I would do ... so I do what I do.
Because I'm a big believer in putting your efforts in making your 7/10 skills into 9/10 stills, and not spending all that effort on getting your 4/10 skills up to a 6/10. People are going to pay and promote you for your 9/10 skills - the things that you're stellar at, by being who you are and doing what you do best.
