    Memorial poem

    Hi ladies,

We are trying to figure out what to write on my dearly departed FIL's headstone. We dont have too much room after the name and photo, so two to three lines is what we have to work with.

I have looked through the web and found all the same common poems listed over and over, I was after something a bit more original. Our pick so far is...

'If love could have saved you, you would have lived forever'.

(he was diagnosed with cancer in July 07 and was gone in Jan 08). He was only 62.

Any advice on some nice wording would be greatly appreciated.

    Lisa

I love the one you have Lisa. Its simple but straight to the point and still brings a tear to the eye

Thanks TT, I think i just needed reassurance from someone outside the immediate family. I feel a lot more confident in it now

i was going to say the same thing - it's personal, it's simple, and it holds a lot of meaning

and ultimately - don't let outside people influence your decisions - this is a place for your family to remember your FIL - so it has to be something that the family, and only the family, are content with. i'm sure that statement has a lot of meaning for all of you

Thanks BG. You know when you look at something for too long and think about it too much, it looses its impact IYKWIM But now stepping back and having another look, i guess our initial instinct was right and its simple yet perfect.

BTW - look at your ticker fly!! Hope all is going as it should in pg land
