Morning All

Rachel-Yes, the demand feeding seems to be working out best now, thanks goodness we had a really good day yesterday. And he is much more comfortable in the cot, more room to spread out in, he likes to sleep with his arms up for some reason. He also likes to lie there quietly, unlike when he was in his cradle, he would just cry so we would put his dummy in and then he would just spit it out and cry again, it was such a viscious circle, but now when we put him into bed he seems to just lie there until he falls asleep. Re the nappies- I see how that makes sense not to put them in boxes, I guess they really aren't in them for that long, I'm sure at his next weighing Jonah will probably be almost 5 kilos by now, if not over that (unless I've been doing something wrong. I have both bought and sold things on ebay, I sold all of the leftover newborn nappies I had yesterday, and we've been selling old cd's and videos that we don't want or that we have 2 of. I bought clothes for Jonah on ebay before he was born, they were in such good condition and I think I only paid about $6 for about 10 items. Good luck to your DH on starting his new job, I'm sure he will be fine. Isn't is just the most beautiful day today, I'm going to try and get all my washing done today and maybe take Jonah for a walk.

Heather- I love pumpkin patch, I should never, ever go in there, it's very naughty to go in there, I should stop, am extremeply tempted to go to DFO, but that would be even naughtier. Jonah is doing well thanks, we had a good day yesterday which I will talk about after this. Sorry to hear about your saga, and don't apologise for a me, me, me post, it wasn't you did personals at the beginning. If you're having trouble with onning and offing (sorry they aren't real words so I hope you know what I mean) have you thought about asking for a lactation consultant? They might be able to help you with that. In regards to his crying and going to him, maybe do what Rachel does and tiptoe in and just observe him, that's also what I do with Jonah, and if it looks like he's still asleep I just leave him be, I think it only wakes them up totally if we fuss with them. Generally if Jonah is crying though I will go in once and put the dummy in if he's awake and then if he does it again I leave him for 5 minutes, if it happens again I go in and put the dummy in and then again leave him for 5 minutes if he starts crying yet again. If it happens more than that I will get him up and cuddle him til he goes to sleep and then try again. If all else fails I just take him into bed with me and sleep with him laying on top of me. I probably do all the wrong things but it works for us, but in saying all of that, he hasn't done that for a while now, so hey, maybe I did do the right thing.

So anyway, on to us. We had a good day as I have already said. The demand feeding worked, and in doing that he still had his 5 bottles for the day. He went to bed at about 11pm, maybe a little bit before that and woke a 6am (this I didn't like), he finished the whole bottle and then went straight back to sleep when I put him back in his cot. He then woke a little before 11am this morning and is out watching t.v with DH right this very moment. Am thinking of maybe waking him for a 12:30am or 1:30am feed depending on when the one before that is, before I go to bed in the hope that he will sleep through a little more like he was before. What do you all think? But the demand feeds are definitely better, and he's taking more when it's on his terms than when it was on ours. And he sleeps more soundly too which is great, so fingers crossed it keeps going well.

Have a great day and enjoy the sunshine if yuo have some.
