Zola, a big YAY for Bas, what a clever boy he is.
Deb, good to hear that you and Neil got things sorted out again. Nothing better than make up sex hey :) And great to hear that everything still works too, I think mine is broken after another failed attempt :(
What a buggar about the mums group too, you'd think even if they did do a post out they'd make courtesy calls a couple of days before because mums with new babies forget alot!!
I had Tehya back down the Dr's again this morning, usually it is so hard to get in but I just said "my daughter NEEDS to see a Dr asap" and she told me to bring her down straight away, I was in the middle of dressing the poor baby. Turns out she now has bronchialitis. She was up early this morning around 5ish coughing and crying with a temp. I gave her some Panadol and some Fess to clear her nose for her and ended up kipping on the lounge with her. She coughs until she spews , it's so scary to see, then of course she starts screaming because it hurts her. I know it must be bad because Tehya very rarely cries.
N E Way, we have another appt at the Dr's tomorrow to check her lungs again. if they are worse she get's antibiotics, then a chest xray, the hospital for ixygen. Of course if she goes downhill over night and has breathing difficulties again I'm to take her straight to the hospital.
I swear when it rains, it pours around this house atm. She has been sleeping most of the morning and for Tehya lately that is unusual, very lethargic too, poor puss.
Take care
Trish
-
Sorry Sarah posting at the same time.
Not sure what you should do with Zander. Wouldn't him gulping it down hurt him more??? I know they say they will feed when they are hungry but surely a bub his age would want more.
Noah was back in bed by 9pm and after stuffing around on Mark I just went in and turned his TV and DVD off and told him to go to sleep. And he did!! Of course thats not working now when I want him to sleep :)
Take care
Trish
-
Awww poor Tehya. to you too Trish, I think you need it. I hope she gets better & you don't end up in the hospital with her.
-
Hi everyone.
Sorry I didn't get more of a chance to say hi yesterday... we had a bit of a 12 hour scream session here. Today seems to be better though :)
Sarah... sorry that Zander is having so much trouble with his feeds. Did you swap him straight from the Karicare to S26 or did you do it gradually? I know when we moved Bastian onto fully formula feeds we did it in one big jump from the S26 to the S26Gold.. he seemed to have a bit of trouble. I have no idea what would help him to take his feeds. I just hope you find something that works before you go insane.
Trish... poor Tehya. I hope that she doesn't have to go to hospital, poor little mite.Big hugs to her from Bas.
Deb...oooer, make up sex huh ;) Sometimes I bet guys deliberately **** us off so that they can make it up to us and get a bit of action!
Bollocks... knew I spoke too soon...better go give Grumnplestiltskin a cuddle and hope he stops crying!!
-
Doing it gradually Zola & he's doing the same thing with the Karicare & S26. Yuck at the 12hr scream session, sadly I know all too much about those! Glad he's better today though.
-
Awww! Poor little Tehya! That must be sooooo bloody scary, Trish! I hope they can fix her up soon. It certainly does pour down on you hey!! :hugs: you are a braver woman than I!
Zola - LOL @ grumplestiltskin!!
Sarah - sorry to hear that Zander isn't taking his bottles. That has got to be sooooo frustrating! I wish I could give you some advice but, yeah, pretty clueless. Bit hard for you to make sure he is putting on weight when he won't bloody eat! Hope the Dr. can explain why you are still bleeding and it's not too much of a complication. Thankfully mine has been stopped for a while (thus the make-up sex ;) ).
When Neil left for work this morning he left a note on the bench "Love you Bie and Love you Gabby". So sweet! He used to leave notes for me all the time. Maybe that's a small thing that has been missing. I used to leave notes for him all the time too for when he got up in the morning. Might have to get back into the habit :)
Went to Mum's group at 10am this morning. I normally can't get out of the house before 11am so it was quite a mean feat! We have a group of 7 and (thankfully), they re-did introductions. It seems like a lovely group of ladies. Gabby is the youngest. The oldest is 4.5 months so a good couple of months older than Gab. I am glad she is the youngest tho. Dunno why! They talked about sleep and settling. I kind of argued with the nurse a little on the settling technique that they are advocating. I questioned why it is so bad to cuddle your baby to sleep. The answer is that you will get stuck doing it all the time. Hmmm... I don't see how that is such a bad thing. N E way, we concluded that sleep school is really only for people that have had major difficulty getting babies to sleep any kind of way so that kept me happy :) I dunno.. i just have a real problem with letting Gabby scream for 15 minutes at a time when I can cuddle her to sleep in 5 minutes... kwim? Of course, no offense for those of you who find controlled comforting the way to go. Each to their own, hey??
Damn... she's crying... will finish post in a sec...
-
Gosh she is grumpy! We've had a big day today and I think it has taken it's toll on Miss Gabby!
Had my hair done today. I got a trim and some highlights. It looks SO much better! I felt like I was being spoilt when I had a coffee and a lovely head massage while the conditioner was being put it. Lovely! Lauren had a great time looking after Gabby who was soooo well behaved. She gave her an EBM bottle so we was lovely and content. Had to do a big poo as we were leaving tho! Gotta save the good stuff for Mum ;)
-
Deb I am so with you on the settling, if I can cuddle Zander to sleep in 15mins, rather than bounce his hammock for over 1/2 an hour, why not?! Yay for getting your hair done today, I wish I could do something different, but it is soooo out of our budget atm (we have $80 to last until Thursday next week 8-[ ). I think I'll have to settle for mum cutting my hair again. Sounds like you & Neil might finally be back on track - fingers crossed it lasts.
Well, I have spent most of the day doing work for my old job. I've done 9 order forms now, so I'm hoping I'll get paid for them soon as money is very very tight at the moment. Mum is talking about having three days off soon & me going in to work, only thing is I couldn't work with the way Zander sleeps at the moment. Sooo we talked about it & she'd take him Sunday night & I get him back on Wednesday afternoon, but I'd have dinner there & spend the afternoons with him. We desperately need the monet, but I'm not so sure I'm ready to do it just yet though.
-
Hi Everyone,
Sorry I haven't been around for ages. I don't really have any excuses either, I suppose that I just get more and more insular as time goes on.
Oh Trish, poor Tehya. Hopefully she won't have to go to hospital. It must be so scary having her coughing all the time.
Deb, I hope that things are working out for you and Neil. I am impressed with DTD. I go to bed so tired that I haven't had the energy, though we came close on the weekend. Maybe I should make time for such things.
Fi, well done with doing the study. It must help to keep you sane.
I am all for the cuddling to sleep. All the patting doesn't seem to work for Charlotte.
Sarah, I hope that you can start to earn some money. I find it frustrating that my most exciting entertainment is shopping and I don't have the money to do it.
We had started getting Charlotte into a routine a few weeks ago but since Mother's Day she has been screaming hysterically for no particular reason. I am finding it exhausting. She still seems to sleep okay at night but I spend the whole day comforting her. It must be a stage.
I am starting my Mother's group tomorrow. I am a little nervous that Charlotte won't behave.
We had our injections last week and Charlotte cried so much after her first one she managed to pop a blood vessel when the second one went in. There was blood everywhere. Poor little mite. She didn't seem to have any ill effects though. She loved watching the big kids playing.
I will go off now and get some dinner whilst the baby is sleeping. The quiet is fantastic!
-
Hi all,
Good to hear from you Maryann, isn't it amazing how the quite is so noticable when you have kids? It's great huh?
Yay Deb for the new do... I haven't had my hair cut for.....about a year!! I think the main prob with the cudling to sleep is when they realise they aren't being cuddled anymore and cry to just be cuddled... Emily did this. She would be sound asleep, and we would put her to bed and a minute later she would be crying... uh! it was hell!! So the whole patting thing was HEAVEN for me, and now we just put Emily in her bed and she puts herself to sleep... Yay
Sarah, I have no advice for you poor little Munchkin!! I hope someone can help you.. (I'm sure you ahve but...) have you tried different teats?
Trish, I hope your little princess gets better real soon! It sounds like you guys are copping it all atm! Lucky Noah, having a DVD anf TV! Anything for a but of peace and quite :)
Congrats Bas on your new trick, you must be very proud Zola! :)
Went and got Violet's hearing done today... They don't do it in Benalla so the MHCN booked me into get in done in Shep... it kinda ****ed me off... I didn't think it was necessary, oh well it is done now. I went shopping on Saturday and Target had a recliner chair with a foot stool on special ofr $53 and the Manager talked me into laybying it... I can't wait to get it now! I got it for BFing in... my couch is so uncomfy for it. I NEVER buy myself stuff... that's why it is so exciting :D.
Wato had Violet again last night... she just wouldn't do to sleep in her bed... dunno why, she wasn't crying tho, just not sleeping... anyway I gave her to him at 11pm and he gave her back at 7am.. not bad I say!! :)
Anyway I hope you are all well
Tanya

Hi Everyone. I have been MIA for so long that I dont know how im going to catch up. #-o
Things have been a bit rough here. I ended up being sent for a spinal ct scan 2 weeks ago and it found my backpain is caused by the fact my pelvis has totally moved. Loads of physio and still not any better and it is frustrating me to no end.
Pheonix is a colicky baby and we were having screaming from 4pm till 2am every day. I changed her formula from Lactogen to Nan Ha Gold and she is doing a little better. I have also been giving here Donnalix Colic drops so heres hoping things will stay slightly better.
[-o<
She weighed in last week at 11lbs so she is definately doing ok in that aspect. :D
I am very happy to say that she now sleeps in her cot and her daddy now has his spot back in the bed. He is much happier with that lol.
Dh still out of work but we are getting by and with my back the way it is the help is much appreciated. He is still totally smitten by her. He was the reciever of her first smile and he even shed happy tear.
No more sounds coming from cot so looks like I am finally safe to go to bed. 2.21am mind you lol.
Cant wait to be able to sit on this chair without being in pain. Missing BellyBelly too much.
-
Awww Kayla you poor thing  I hope the physio starts working for you soon. I bet DH is very happy to be back in bed with you! Are you getting much sleep at all after 2am? I soooo know what the screaming is like, but we seem to manage to have ok nights.
Yup tried different teats Tanya, no good :( Yay for your recliner chair, when are you picking it up? And also a yay for Wato taking Violet on Monday night, sounds like you needed it.
Patting doesn't work for Zander either Maryann. I agree with you on shopping being the most exciting entertainment, but it's not real exciting when all you can buy is formula, washing powder & all those boring things LOL! Enjoy mother's group today & fingers crossed Charlotte is a good girl for you.
Well, stupid me is having problems doing everything at the moment cos I burnt my hand last night. I had done some veges in the microwave & managed to spill the boiling water on the palm of my right hand #-o It's mostly on my thumb where I was holding the jug & the part between my thumb & next finger is really swollen. I can't believe I was so stupid. It's sooo hard to do anything baby-wise with only 1 hand!
-
Kayla, sorry to hear that you are still having a hard time with your back. Poor Pheonix having such back colic, it's the worst when you can't do anything to fix them. Hoping that your Dh finds a job soon.
Tanya, yay on getting your new seat, it sounds great. I wish I could just hand Tehya over to Mark for the night and get some decent sleep. The DVD and TV are for just that, peace and quite. What a shame it doesn't work more often. I guess if it did I have him in front of the dman thing all of the time atm.
Sarah, maybe the break from Zander at work would be great for you?? Not sure how you would go with the seperation thing that's all :) I'm hearing you on the money thing. That's what Mark keeps telling me it's going to be like if and when we buy. I tell him it's ok I can handle it, but truthfully I love my retail therapy.
Well we ended up back down the Dr's yesterday afternoon with Tehya. She had been asleep from 10am til 4pm when I woke her up. Her last feed was at 8am and I had to force her to have some at 4. he wasn't weeing (of course as she wsan't drinking) and was very lethargic. Dr had a listen to her chest which didn't sound like it had gotten worse but the fact that she wasn't feeding and was listless and had a high temp he sent us straight to the Childrens Hospital.
Thankfully we didn't have to wait too long to see the Triage nurse, as soon as we saw her we were in. I guess they don't like to muck around with little babies and respiratory probs. It was packed down there but they are really nice and quite helpful. They kept checking her oxygen levels and they were pretty good surprisingly but her temp and heart rate was still up. Her H rate was around 189 and at one time got up to 200. After they finally gave her some Panadol her temp started to go down and so did her heart. She honestly looked like crap up until then. She would barely open her eyes and just coughed the whole time.
Not really happy that they sent us back out into the cold at 11pm but they were packed and had no beds available. Of course I have barely slept as she was up twice for feeds then we spend the next 30 mins or so coughing and choking. Noah then so nicely got me up at 6.45am so all up I think I got about 5 hours of broken sleep.
We are back down to the hospital today with mum for some tests and Tehya has to go and see the Dr again this afternoon. She is still far from being out of the woods.
Take care
Trish
-
Oh geez Trish you poor thing. I hope Tehya is ok. Good luck with the tests for your mum today
-
Sorry I haven't been on for a few days - lots to catch up on!
Trish - how awful for your little girl I hope she has a speedy recovery, and you can get back to getting your sleep. I guess if she is only feeding every 5 hrs, you are expressing at the moment?? Make sure you dont let your supply drop off otherwise you'll have more problems to add to it all!
Sarah - sorry to hear about your crappy days too. Why wont little Znader have his tucker!!! Naughty little bugger. Have you tried syringes and even a cup?? If it was breastfeeding a lactation consultant woould help you in a second, but cause you're formula, I guess its harder to find help huh? At least help that you dont have to pay for. And as for the money woes - well I'm not as bad as you, but things are still tight here. I hope you get some pocket money soon from working.
Deb - glad to see you are getting notes again. Shane is behaving better too, but I still take a few days to warm back up again. I'm not like a lightswitch!!! I'm interested in DTD too, but when we are in bed at 9pm, can't do much about it - specially when he is snoring straight away! Glad to hear your group is good - and I dont agree much with the putting down either. Sometimes it works, but then sometimes she only needs a 3min cuddle and she goes down for ages. Little rascal hasn't slept well the last couple of days, she hasn't been grumpy, she just is more interested in looking around. Oh well - they say babies that don't sleep much during the day develop quicker because they have more interaction and process more stimulation. Just poor mums!!!
Kayla - sorry to hear your pains have not got any better. But at least you have an answer now huh? Hoping things get better, and yay on the weight gain!! Good old Nixee huh?
Zola - Had to LOL at grumpilstilkin as well. I wonder what the equivalent is for a little girl?
Well I had a nice surpise on Monday night - Shane came home from work and told me that Lara was finished!! It turns out he has been taking RDO's on Mondays for the last 4 weeks to work n it without telling me. And the carpet went down yesterday, so we are all ready to put it on the market! YAY!!! And the even better news is that apparently my price range is selling really well at the moment, and there is nothing else around, so here's hoping it gets snapped up in a few weeks. Ahhhh - back to one mortgage!! Wont it be lovely!
Keep well all,
Fi
-
Oh Gosh, Trish. That is terrible! The poor little thing! I hope they can figure out how to fix it soon. You must feel like a walking zombie! :hugs: for you matey!
Sarah - that is awesome of your Mum to offer to take Zander so that you can work. Maybe it would only have to be for a short time until he starts sleeping better? Either way, because she lives so close it's not like you will be that far away huh?
Grrrr.... crying again... will finish post soon!!
-
OK.. have shoved the dummy back in..
Fi - what a sneaky thing Shane is!! But what a lovely surprise for you to find out that Lara is finished. Hope you sell soon and get a good price for it :) Hope Jenna starts sleeping better too!
Kayla - any wonder your back is so sore! Yay that Nixee is in her bed now. Hope your DH can find some work soon.
Maryann - good to see you are still in the land of the living. Sorry to hear that Charlotte hasn't been quite so good.
Tanya - what a pain that you had to travel so far for the hearing test. But yay on the recliner chair. Good on you for doing something for yourself!!
Have put some more pics on Gabby's site. I got Neil to take a pic of me in my BellyBelly t-shirt but it's pretty hideous, LOL (me... not the t-shirt). We had a mortgage broker over last night and she stayed for 2 hours explaining how we can save some $$ and it sounded really good. Only thing was that I didn't get to bed until midnight because she stayed for so long. Gabby slept for 8 hours tho so that's good :)
-
OK i wanted to tell you some news you won't believe... [-(
One of my student's mums gave birth about 7 weeks ago, and get this!
yesterday she was telling me how he sleeps for 11 hours a night!!!
OMG can you believe it ELEVEN HOURS!!!! No way!!
Can i order one like that??
Just thought i would share that...LOL
-
Christy I'll have one of those too please. Well, I'll have Tehya change into one of those anyways.
Take care
Trish
-
Oh poor Teyha Trish! I do hope that she gets better real soon. I'm another one that can't believe how you must be coping with Noah as well. You are such a strong woman - an inspiration to me that's for sure!
Sarah - how is Zander feeding now? Can I suggest maybe different brands of teats? He obviously doesn't have a fever or cold or anything like that?
Tanya - how did the hearing test go? We are sort of settled into our house, still have some things I want to get down but we are getting there and it is looking more like our house now.
Zola - yay on Bas for rolling, what a clever boy! How's the new house going?
Kayla - sorry to hear about your back... I hope it gets better real soon.
Debbie - I'm another one that cuddles Matthew to sleep if he needs it. Sometimes I think that all he wants. It's not everynight he needs it but we all have our bad days, don't we? Glad to hear things on going good at your place too with Neil. It's all a big learning curve for them too.
Fi - yay at Lara being finished! Lots of luck with getting it sold quickly.
Chrissy - can I brag about Matthew and tell you he sleeps 10/11/12 hours a night and has done from 7 weeks? He is a good sleeper at night, not so much during the day but I know it all could change in a matter of moments.
Speaking of which, he is awake so catch you all later
-
Trish you must be so scared with poor Teyah being sick! Here's hoping she gets better really quickly!
Sarah.. I was thinking last night that maybe Zander is tired?? Does he have much of a sleep b4 he fusses over his food? I know when I trie to feed Violet when she is tired she fusses, so I put her to bed (which may not work if he is having trouble sleeping). I know I am tugging at straws here but Zander needs his tucker and you must be going out of your mind!
Fi... Wow at Shanes big secret!! Congrats on getting it done! You have to take some snaps for us b4 you sell it.
Deb... Looking Hot there in you BB tee!! :D
I'm thinking about selling my Lizards :( I just don't have the time for them anymore... I suppose I could make the time... I just feel like I am being cruel to them. I told Alecia what I was thinking and she got upset and told me she'd look after them... but nothing has changed...
Tanya
-
Forgot to tell you about Violets' new trick... When she is tried she tries to rub her eyes... Awww so cute! Of course she can't control her hand well enough... so last night I wraped her and had her over my shoulder and she was rubbing her eyes on my shirt. I looked at her and her eyes were all red so I rubbed them for her and she was like a little pussy cat wanting more and pushing agains my hand... poor soul!! :)
Tanya
-
Tanya - that is so cute of Violet! Sometimes jenna rubs against us too, but its usually a wind thing!!! Usually a dummy sorts it out.
She has been catnapping ALLLLLLLL day!!! its been driving me nuts! She's completely pooped, has hardly wanted to play all day, and when I put her down she wakes up!! I think this time I finally got her to bed for a couple of hours, but anything could happen.
She slept OK last night though - She really knows night from day, but still has to wake for a mid-night feed. No wonder she's growing huh?
I'm about to put a couple of new bath shots on the web. We got some last night when she was REALLY happy, she loves the bath soo much. I think she may have grown a little too.
Fi
-
Tanya - Gabby does that too! When she is tired she rubs her little face on my shoulder. She isn't quite at the stage where she is trying to rub them tho. Violet must look sooooo cute when she does that :) As for the belly belly t-shirt pic, I have to delete it. Kelly messaged me - she thought I was leaking but it's actually one side of my maternity bra had popped open! Lovely!! LOL
Fi - AWWWWW! Little Jenna looks soooo cute in the bath! Great pics!
Nell - Ikwym about the great sleeping changing any moment. I am waiting for it all to change. Mum reckons it won't change all that dramatically - just when teething and illness happen. Here's hoping, hey?
Chrissy - I hope you have an 11 hour a night sleeper :) It IS possible but I think you would be lucky. I am happy with Gabby's 8 hours :)
I have been going nuts with the camera today! I want to fiddle around with Gabby's site and put yet more pictures up so will do that now :)
-
Nell i think i might just have to clone matty then!!
Deb and Fi I have checked up on both your new photos and my goodness they are growing, and into 2 adorable cute little gals as well!
LMAO @ thre bellybelly t-sirt deb...i must say i didnt notice at all. Are you missing teaching any? Stupid question i know 8-[ , just wondering if you get pangs...LOL
Sarah, Trish and Tanya i am off to catch an updated glimpse at your treasures as well....i bet they have grown so much aslo.
-
p.s. i am actually beginning to tell who is who now...they are developing their own looks.
-
Trish- I am thinking of you and your 2 littlies, hope everyone starts to get better soon, it's tough enough with 4 without 2 sick as well.
Chrissy I have had good sleepers too, they were sleeping 10hrs from 3 wks, 6 wks and 2 from 9wks. Jessica goes down now at 8pm and wakes at 7am, but she has done that since about 3 months. Some of us are luckier than others. hope you get one of the sleepy ones.
Hi girls hope you are all well
Cheers Michelle
-
Fi, we're just experimenting with different bottles at the moment to get Zander to eat. So far he does the same thing on the Avent & a Playtex one which stops airbubbles forming. Today I'm trying him on the cheap Woolies brand ones! And woohoooo at Lara being finished \:D/ Had a look at Jenna's website & she is such a little cutie!
Deb I'm still not sure about leaving Zander for 3 full days just yet even if he will be next door 8-[ I have started selling some things on e-bay to get a bit of money that way, so far we've got over $200 for things we were just going to chuck anyway! Sounds like the meeting with your mortgage broker went well the other night, maybe we should look into seeing someone too.
Awwww I wanna a sleeping baby like that too Chrissy!! Nah, my bubba is all mine even if he is a little difficult to get to sleep ;)
No fever or cold over here Nell. The worst thing is he took his bottle fine from the lady yesterday when I was at my Infant Class ](*,) Good, but not good if that makes sense LOL!
Tanya even when Zander gets up in the morning, after 6-ish hours he still does the same thing, so I don't think too he's tired. We're clutching at straws too as to what to do with him at the moment. The ECHN wasn't any help cos he fed ok yesterday when we were there! Awww how cute of Violet rubbing her eyes! Zander's latest trick is to suck on your neck when he gets tired!
I hope little Tehya is ok now Trish??? And that you're at least getting some sleep.
As for us, we had a big day yesterday, we left home at 9.30 for my class, it finished at 12.00 then some of us went to lunch until 3.45!!! Got home gave Zander a bottle then Aaron rang to be picked up. It's funny how I could work a 12hr day & not be too bad just last year, but now 9.30-3.00 is a loooong day LOL!
We talked about sleep & settling yesterday, as I thought I was doing some things wrong. Every time Zander starts to cry a bit in the night I get up to him so he doesn't wake Aaron up, problem is, they said that sometimes they can wake up going "OMG where am I?" cry a little bit, then realise where they are & go back to sleep. Our problem is that Zander doesn't get the chance to go back to sleep cos I jump up & bounce his hammock for him so he hasn't learnt that he can go back to sleep by himself. I'm trying their techniques today to see if it works, I did last night as well when I put him to bed & it worked really well. I refuse to let him cry for the 6mins that they recommend, Aaron laughed saying it was less than a minute, but hey I can adjust what they say to suit us. I wanted to try him in his own room, but it's a long way from ours & if I have the monitor on it defeats the purpose, but I'm not sure I'll hear him properly. Dunno, will have to think about it some more.
-
Sarah - I bet you will hear Zander if he is in his own room. Maybe try for one night - you may be surprised. I find that when Gabby is really crying properly, that's when I hear her. Because she is in a separate room, I don't hear all the little grizzles so I don't get up to her all the time. Easier said than done, I know! Everyone is different and every baby is different. Another thing might be to have the monitor on but have it outside your bedroom door so that you aren't waking to every little sound? I know you said that Zander's room is a fair way away from yours so maybe that's an option? I have a friend who has her baby waaaay down the other end of their newish house so she puts the monitor in the loungeroom outside her bedroom door. She hears the baby when she cries but not when she just grizzles as babies do sometimes during the night. Most important thing is - YOU have to be comfortable. If getting up to him works, who is to tell you to do any different? As for worrying about waking Aaron - he would probably sleep through it! LOL Neil does (though Gabby hasn't woken during the night for a while).
Chrissy - you are so right. Our little babies look less like little squishy newborns and more like little people now :) Not that there's anything wrong with a cuddly little newborn :) Can't wait until it's me checking out your bubba!!
Not much on today. We have another ANC reunion tonight so that everyone can catch up with our lovely Fi-Fi. Should be good :)
BTW, Fi - had a chat to "Nuk" girl last night. Will fill you in when I see you tonight!
-
Hehe Deb, funny you should mention Nuk again! I was coming in to announce that my little man fed for the first time in days without screaming the house down - with a Nuk teat \:D/ Our biggest problem is that Aaron doesn't sleep real well, everything wakes him up in the night. I suppose I shouldn't complain too much cos at the moment Zander is going to bed at 11.00, grizzling at 4.00ish then up around 6.00 so it's not as bad as it was.
-
Yay! I am so glad you managed to find something that worked for Zander. It just had to be Nuk!! ;) It's good that he is sleeping better tho. Much better for your sanity, I imagine!
Anyone want a couple of dogs?? They are driving me nuts!
-
Christy, I have to agree, they are all starting to look like their own selves now.
Fi, I had a look at Jennas page and she is just too cute. Funny, Mark was looking over my shoulder and I said "isn't she beautiful" and he was wondering when I had taken the photos of her in the bath. LOL he thought Jenna was Tehya. Obviously he thinks your daughter is beautiful too. Welcome to the catnaps sweety.
Deb, I think I need to show him(mark) pics of Gabby now, lets see if the hair confuses him :) Hope you have a great time at your ANC reunion tonight. No thanks to the dogs either. I came home before with a message on the answering machine from my midwife inviting me to a morning tea they are holding for the women that have had babies with them. I was thinking that I would love to go. But then she says when it is. TOMORROW. Thanks for giving me notice hey. I already have GREAT plans for tomorrow ;)
Sarah, yay on getting Zander to have a decent feed and at getting him to settle abit better. It is very hard not to jump to the in the middle of the night hey. It's like the quicker I get to them the less they'll wake up and they'll go back down quicker. Well thats my thinking anyway. That and I don't want her to wake Noah or the big boys up. Don't care if she wakes Mark up though, he's her parent too.
Michelle, thanks for your well wishes. Your right it is hard with 4 and even harder when they are sick. There just aren't enough hours in the night. I'm not going to say day because I think I'm up long enough then. I want a really long night that I can sleep through.
Took Tehya back down for a checlup last night and the Dr rang through to one of the local hosp. to see if they had any beds vacant if we needed to go again night. I was very close to taking her as she started coughing, choking, spewing and generally having a really hard time breathing again. Once I got her to settle down it seemed to calm abit though. The Dr that saw her on Tuesday night at the hosp called to see how she was going too. I thought that was really nice of her especially as we are only public patients too.
She still isn't out of the woods though but is getting alot better. Sleeping more than she usually does - although I'm not complaining about that. Fingers crossed she is on the up and up. Noah is back at school today. There is noway I could've kept him home again, he was driving me mad. He is still on antibiotics til Sunday and his ear is still alittle inflamed but nothing like before.
Better go, time to go and pick up the little monster from pre school.
Take care

Trish - sooooo good to hear that Tehya is a little better. Sounds bloody aweful! That was lovely of the doctor to ring. It goes to show that some of them genuinely care about their patients. I don't blame you for sending Noah back to preschool. He's gotta be over the worst of it by now anyway, hey.
That reminds me, at our mother's group, the nurse was telling us to never send your child to childcare or school sick. The way she made it sound was that we shouldn't send them even if they have a little sniffle. Hmm.. yet another thing I disagreed with. Chances are, they caught it at school from someone who was spreading it around already so what does it matter? I mean, fair enough while they are reeeeeallly sick, but you can't wrap them up in cotton wool. And, some people have to work. I dunno, I think sometimes they have to explain themselves a little more clearly cos otherwise they are going to make some mums out there soooo paranoid that they won't want to leave their homes let alone take their kids out! She even started going on about germs on the supermarket trolleys. Sheesh!

Good to hear that little miss Tehya is getting better, even if she wasn't so great last night. LOL at having GREAT plans for tomorrow, it's funny so do I ;) I totally agree with you on getting up before they wake up too much so you can get them back to sleep faster. I think I'll stick with what I'm doing of a night cos it seems to be working, but daytimes I might try something different cos he'll catnap on his own but sleep for 2hrs on me if I let him.
It is bad isn't Deb how the nurses don't explain things properly, you'd think they'd know better.
Got heaps done today - 4 loads of washing, cleaned the loungeroom & started on the kitchen / dining. I decided not to sit on BB all day & I didn't turn the telly on until after midday so that helped! Not that there's anything good on, but you know what it's like, it's just toooo easy to sit & watch telly than do anything!
-
Sarah, I think I'd get heaps more done if I had no puter :) Then I'd really have no life.
Deb, ikwym about them not explaining things properly although I think in the end commonsense should prevail with Kids health and germs. I'm not a paranoid mum at all, although there are things I hate my kids touching (now don't go lol'ing on me) you know the hand rails on the esculators, I think they are filthy and won't let the kids hold on. Who knows where peoples hands have been. The shopping trolleys can be pretty grotty and if I ever used them I made sure I had a blanket to line it first.
We were back down the Dr's AGAIN this afternoon with Tehya. She had a high temp again and was very drowsy and lethargic again. Dr was amazed that they had sent us home from hosp on Tuesday night and by the fact that they didin't do a chest xray. I have to call up tomorrow to book her in for one. He is worried that because has had temps since Monday that she could be getting pneumonia. Fantastic... Atleast if that is the case they can give her antibiotics to help clear it up. At the moment she has nothing because it's viral. I just feel so damn helpless with her.
Take care

I agree to that without the computer I wouldn't have much of a life either Trish, sad hey?! I hope Teyha is feeling better & that there is nothing major going on.
How funny is this Fi, last night Zander took his Platex bottle & this morning, he took his Avent, both with no problems. I just don't know what to do with him sometimes!
It is soooo cold here today, outside temp is 8.3 inside 11  No wonder my knees are stuffed - I have bad joints that play up in the cold weather.
Anyways I better be off, leaving to Parramatta in 1.5hrs to meet with Trish & Fletch so I suppose I should be dressed soon hey ;)
-
Sarah and Trish and Fletch - hope you have a good day today!
Sarah - I am the same. If I didn't come on BB, I would get heaps done. My mind would turn to mush, but I would have a clean house, LOL. Actually, if I didn't come on BB, I would probably find something else to do. Housework always comes last ;)
Fi - yep, it was a good night out. I think perhaps the guy with the Jimmy Can brought it because they didn't have any money? They didn't order any dinner and left pretty early. Still, you're right - it's not a BYO. I can't believe that we were sitting across from the entired Fremantle footy club! Just to fill you all in, we were sitting at a big table with all our prams around. Some of us were breast feeding when a whole bunch of very tall, very good-looking blokes came in and sat at another big table across from us. We all assumed that they must be from some kind of sporting club because they all looked quite fit... and did I mention tall??
N E way, it wasn't until we were about to leave that Neil realised that they were the Freo Dockers, LOL. So the whole time we were sitting there, we had no idea that it was actually an AFL team, hehehe. As we were walking out, Neil shouted at them "Go Cats!!" LOL So, if Freo lose thise week, we know it's cos Neil put them off their game. Soooo funny!
Trish - I hope they can find an answer to whatever is making little Tehya so sick. Going to and from the hospital and the doctors has gotta be a pain in the behind.
As soon as Gabby wakes up we are heading down to Mum's for the day. Hanna and Erin are hanging out with Mum today so I thought I would join them. It's hard to get us all in the same room these days. It's a pity Lauren has to work tho.

Deb - I thought that too about him, but it was still pretty embarrassing. It wasn't so much the fact they had no money - that bit doens't bug me at all, but he didn't even make any attempt to hide the fact he BYO!! I would have at least poured it into a glass as soon as opening it, and hid the can in the pram. Shane was surprised that they weren't living together, and I thought it was great. Too many times people force themselves into living together after an unplanned pregnancy, and at that age, there is no reason too. I think she would be really nice to catch up with without him there. I was really impressed she was bfding too - great to see a younger person doing it.
Poor Schapelle huh? 20 years!! It will be interesting to see what this does to the tourist industry there. I personally aren't interested in travelling to Bali - maybe other parts of indonesia, but then I dont really like the heavily commercial beach areas anyway. I hated Patong Beach in Thailand. Still feel sorry for the poor woman. I hope she only has to do about 5 years in Oz jail. we shall see!
Sarah - Zander is just trying to keep you on your toes I guess!! Little trickster. Hope you guys had a nice day together.
I went walking this morning - I was gone for about 3 hrs altogether, so I had to sneak into Maccas and feed her in the corner. Also I was getting blisters from the crap socks I was wearing, so I had to go to the supermarket to get some new ones. Changed them right there in the store too!! But it was good to get out and about. I am zonked though.
Hope everyone is well.

Had a good morning with Fletch, but unfortunately Trish couldn't end up coming cos of Tehya being sick :( I bought myself a pair of jeans - $60 reduced to $25, then reduced again to $18 so that was really good :)
Yuck at the blisters Fi, don't you hate when socks do that to you!
LOL at the footy team being at your meetup Deb! Hope you have a good day with your mum & sisters.
Oops better go Zander is needing me....
