Just got an SMS from Trish, Tehya is back in hospital with pneumonia. Mum's very stressed as you'd expect. Poor bubba, it took them 4 times to get her IV in :(
Oh poor Tehya, poor little mite. Poor Trish too, I would be stressed out of my head, send her our wishes Sarah, if you happen to SMS her again.
Sarah - glad that a mixture of brands is working atm. How is he today? How is he when you are out and about? Glad you got some jeans. - what a bargain!
Fi - how did you go today, bit chilly, hope you didn't get rained on.
Deb - glad the meet up went well. LOL at Freo being there, I just can't believe how much taller some AFL players are IRL.
Matty is still well, not liking sleeping during the day, cries alot when I try to get him to have a sleep so my days are pretty full on, but I am lucky he still zonks at night. Still, I am RS by the time DH comes home.
Have a good weekend!
Same as Matty Nell, he fights sleeping during the day. Funny thing is when we are out he's fine, looks around at everything & loves it but he gets tired pretty fast then gets cranky! Just ask Fletch ;) He was an angel for most of the day then he cried & cried in the car on the way home.
Speaking of which, how frustrating is it when they cry in the car???? He cried for 20mins & I couldn't pull over anywhere ](*,) It got to the point of me yelling, "I can't pull over, just wait!" Oopsy!
When Matty does that, that is when I pop on Hi-5 for him to listen to. I swear it works everytime, and he is soon asleep. Doesn't work at home though, not sure why?
Matty loves looking at things out and about too but I have had to quickly put things down and walk out of a shop because he cries - loudly!
I think I might have to invest in a Hi-5 or other kids CD to put in the car. I hadn't even thought about doing that.
Everyone has been very quiet. I hope all mums & bubs are ok....
We're good :) Mum went chop & bought Alexzander some new clothes - 3 jumpers, a pair of jeans, a pair of cargo pants & 2 pairs of shoes. The shoes are for 3-6months so I thought they'd be too big, but nope they fit my big foot bubba!!
Ooooh! Poor Trish and Tehya! I hope she gets better really quickly. I get so scared at the thought of jenna getting sick. And the IV thing! Youchies. I don't like it when they take more than once to get a needle in me - let alone the poor baby.
Nell - We have good days and bad days with Jenna. Of course - everytime Shane gets home, she's asleep, so it seems like she does that all day. No such luck!! She and daddy are asleep in bed now. I've been out shopping - just getting photos developed - FINALLY!! I got 112 copies done, so thats enough to fill a new born album I guess, with a few to give away.
Deb - hope everything is OK with you. Guess you are having a busy weekend??
Sarah - yay on the clothes! I really want to buy some more, but I haven't even got through most of the 000's yet. Damn it - I want to buy some more cute pink stuff!!
No more news with me - my girls lost again this morning, but it was to the top team. They have a state player, so I didn't think 50 odd-4 was toooo bad. We normally lose about 40-10. It was ****ing down, and freezing cold!! Dont you love winter sports?
Fi
Oh no! Poor little Tehya! My thoughts are with you at this time, Trish. At least they finally know what the hek is wrong with the poor little sausage. Hope you can get a good rest once everything is back to normal :hugs:
Fi - bummer about the girls losing netball today. Twas bloody freezing!! My sister wanted us to come down and watch her BF play footy (he plays for St. Albans Park) but there was no way! The heater was far too lovely today! I hear you on wanting to buy some more clothes but Gabby has soooo many lovely things that it would just be silly of me. I have to find some time to go through all her 00-1 clothes that are piled on the spare bed. Before I know it, she will be in 00s! Thanks for asking about me. It hasn't been busy - just too cold out in the shed ;)
Sarah - LOL @ your big-foot-bubba! Sounds like your Mum had a good time shopping. I bet he looks so cute in all his new clothes. I love little boys in cargo pants! Soooo cute! And those little dress-shirts. They look like little men, hehe. I am with you on the crying in the car. She wants her dummy most of the time and I just can't reach to pop it back in her mouth. Every time the car stops "Waaaaaaahhhhh!". It's a pain!
Nell - sounds like Matty is going well. It's hard when they don't sleep during the day - even if you do have a good night's sleep. It's just constant, isn't it? It's not like you get a lunch break like you do with other jobs!
Neil has been a very good boy this weekend. We hung out last night and he gave Gabby a bath. I asked him to not go to bed until I had gotten her down so that we could fall asleep together. Of course, he was dozing when I walked in but popped his head up when he heard me and said; "I'm awake!!" LOL. Needless to say he zonked it as soon as my head hit the pillow. We did the groceries after some visitors left today and then watched the football. Mum came over to watch the footy too.
Gabby has been cranky all day. Mum thinks it might be wind. I dunno. I think she is just having a cranky day! She is asleep atm - will see how long that lasts!
Not much on for tomorrow. Neil has to work on his catalogue so I will probably do housework. Fun, fun!
Zander has got so many clothes too Fi, but Granma just can't help herself! Bumma about losing netball as well. Yuck at playing in the cold & rain, that's the one thing I hated when I used to play.
YAY for Neil being good this weekend Deb, sounds like you guys have had a nice weekend.
I can't wait to have a weekend to ourselves, Zander is 10 weeks old & we haven't had a weekend with just the three of us yet. Today Aaron is at the V8s at Eastern Creek, his friend won tickets to it. Next week I have Fletch's baby shower on Sunday, then the week after is Amanda's 21st cruise on Saturday & my uncle's surprise 60th on Sunday. There' just waaay too much going on round here.
Hey everyone.
I've only caught up on the last 2 pages...it's sooo busy here! Having visitors, going out visiting, and we've started to paint our house, so that's taking up most of the spare time I have!
Trish... I hope Tehya ges better soon. I can't imagine how worried you must be about her.
Sarah... glad that Zander is feeding a bit better now. Lets hope that he fits into those new clothes snugly :) We are really luck with Bastian because as soon as he gets in the car he pretty much goes to sleep, and even if he doesn't he's quite happy to look out the window. Our little boofa is now wearing mostly 00 clothes and I had to put his car seat in this week cause he was getting a bit squished in his capsule!
Deb, I'm glad you had a nice day with Neil. I honestly don't think the men have a clue what to expectgg with a first baby. Felius is complaining that he's tired and never gets time to relax when he gets home... Hello!! Try staying home and dealing with it aaaalll day. It's still nice to get some "together time" though, hey :)
Fi.... wow! I thought I was doing well walking to the end of our street and back! (It is just under 2ks, for those thinking I was a bit of a wuss ;)) That takes me about 45 -60 mins, depending on if I go via the beach. Well done you for walking for 3 hours! i had a squizz at your birth story too..wow!
I hope everyone else is doing well ans little bubs are behaving for their tired parents :)
Hi Girls!
I have managed to get the dreadful cold that has been going around and have been laid up for the weekend. I had Josh home on Tuesday with the sore throat and headache and Christian home on Wednesday and Thursday with the cough, sore throat and runny nose. I managed to get the works! Jeff has been handling all the kids well but I didn't know, and still don't, whether to hug him or kill him when he told me he went and bought formula for Jacob and gave it to him. He hadn't told me that he had used the EMB for Jacob on Friday night when I started getting sick and went to bed early - I thought Jacob must have just had a good sleep since he didn't wake me to feed him. So on Saturday night when I was asleep - and looking quite feral - he decided that I needed a good nights sleep and made the decision to pop down to the chemist and grab a packet of the satchels of formula so he could feed Jacob. I feel horrible that I couldn't say either "Good thinking. I really needed the sleep" or "OMG, what were you thinking!". 24 hours later I still don't know what I feel.
Zola - Good luck with the painting. We've still got a bit that we should have done here by now, but something always comes up that prevents us restarting. I can't wait until we finally do the kitchen - it's been driving me nuts for the last year. Strangely enough we have all the apint we need sitting in the garage just waiting for us to use it.
Fi - Bummer about netball!
Sarah - Woo hoo on the shopping. Wow Zander is 10 weeks already. The time is going way to fast.
Trish - I hope Tehya gets better quickly. Thinking of you both.
Deb - Glad to hear that you and Neil had a good weekend.
Nell - I agree the music can work wonders. For each of the boys I have bought a tape/CD with songs that sing their name in the songs. I got Matthew's as a gift when I had him and thought it was a pretty cool idea, then got them for the others when they came along. Have no idea what they have done with them - probably somewhere in the bottomless pits they call their bedrooms, but Jacob's is in the CD player in his room and I have got a copy for the car.
Hope everyone else is doing well.
Does anyone know how Tehya is? I hope that she is okay.
Sarah - Matty is big in the feet as well and I tried some shoes on him we got as a gift and they fit! OMG - it is tradition in DH's that all the males have big feet so it'll be interesting to see what size he does end up with.
I have tried to get on here during the weekend but everytime I got on, I was needed either by my darling son or darling hubby.
Nat - oohh I love the idea of songs with their name in them! I've have to keep an eye out for those! I agree, I wouldn't know what to think if DH gave Matty formula... I must admit that we do have some in the pantry in case there is a time he cracks it so much I think he may be hungry and not getting enough from me... even though I have a heap of feeds in the freezer. What have you decided to do?
Deb - your w/e sounds lovely and sorry to hear Geelong lost. Not sure how Freo did it... did you end up doing the housework yesterday?
Fi - winter is here and sorry to hear the girls lost netball. I love getting the photos developed, they are good to look at the computer but even better when they are in an album, have fun sorting them!
W/e for me was busy, but Matty is okay. Think I'll have to face facts that he won't snooze. Have mums group today and last week he screamed the place down so it'll be interesting to see what he does this week!
Just a quickie cos Zander is crying....
Tehya is coming home today :) She still has a chesty cough, but they are happy for her to go home. Trish now has tonsilitis & is obviously very tired.
OMG... poor Trish can't cut a break, can she?? Glad to hear that Tehya is well enough to come home tho.
Nell - Yes... Neil was miserable on Saturday night after the cats lost (not by much, thankfully). I told him because he had yelled "Go Gats" at Freo that he must have spurred them on, LOL. Anyway, after the game he went down the street to get DVDs and some wine. He went into the video shop and they have changed everything around. N E way, he got the usual 2 new releases and 3 new to weekly but the new to weekly's had moved so the chick behind the counter made him feel like a moron for thinking they were new to weekly's when they were really new releases. He got in the car and sat on the wine cask! LOL Needless to say, he was reeeeeeallly ****ed off! He came up the driveway like a bat outta hell and I heard the horn in his car go off a little as he punched his steering wheel. Meanwhile, I was at home with Mum. Neil's mobile rang and it was his brother saying he was coming over (he was drunk). So, straight away, I start getting annoyed because it would mean that Neil and his brother would probably get into a session and have a late night again. Neil walked inside in a huff and it took a good few minutes to get out of him what was wrong. Meanwhile, I was thinking "Great! Now I won't get a chance to talk to him and tell him not to start getting ****ed with his brother so that his brother leaves". So, we ended up having a huge blue in front of Mum! Gabby had been a pain all day (Mum says it was wind but I say it was Mum picking her up as soon as she so much as grizzled!). Urrgh! A mess. And all because fricken Geelong lost, LOL. We sorted it all out tho - I apologised for getting angry with him for something that he hadn't even done yet, ;)
Hope Matty behaves at Mum's group this week!
Nat - sorry to hear you haven't been feeling the best. I can understand that you are of two minds for your DH going and getting formula. Tell me to shut up if you like, but maybe it would be best just to look at it in a positive light. He did something pro-active that allowed you to get the rest you needed. Has it hurt Jacob? Probably not. Will he reject the boob from one formula feed? Probably not. The important thing is that you got a rest when you really needed it. Maybe it's just a problem because the decision was taken away from you? Like I said, tell me to shove it where the sun don't shine but there's not much you can do about it now so it's probably best not to stew over it. I am with you on wanting the kitchen painted. I did say I wouldn't complain once it was in and functional, but not I want the walls and floor done. I am never content! LOL - you guys are well ahead of us tho. We don't even have the paint!
Zola - you are right about some men having no clue about how our lives change when babies come along! Even after we pump them full of info! Goes to show how much they listen to us. I have told Neil several times that he should read up on things (uno... get "So You Are Going to Be A Dad" books). Of course, he didn't so that's what he gets for being ignorant I say!! LOL
Sarah - Maybe you will just have to make a weekend to yourselves and tell everyone to nick off! Uno... pick a weekend and tell everyone that you are busy. If something crops up, you can't make it. I have actually cancelled on a couple of things now and I felt sooooooo good when I didn't have to go anymore! Not like before where I felt so totally guilty. Although, they are pretty huge things you have coming up. Maybe only stay for a short time? Thanks for filling us in about Tehya. I was going to SMS Trish but I didn't want to hassle her.
After Gabby outright refused to sleep on Saturday, she was as good as gold yesterday. Literally up for 1 hour, down for 2. I got SOOOO much done. Vacuuming, dishes, baked a cake, made choc mousse for dessert, mopped the floor, got up to date with the washing, cleaned the bathroom (even got to scrub the shower caddy!), cleared out some of the crud in the spare room and cleaned the loo! I went nuts! The house still isn't 100% but it is much nicer now. So today is a rest day I think!
Fi - how did mother's group go?
Wow at such a good day yesterday Deb. I would love one of those! Yucko at the big fight with Neil, but at least it was all resolved pretty quick this time. My problem is with staying a short time Deb at the things we have coming up - Amanda's 21st is a cruise, can't exactly leave it early LOL! My uncle's 60th is a 2hr drive away, so even if we do leave early it takes aaages to get back!
Enjoy your mum's group today Nell, hopefully Matty is good this time :crossfingers:
Yuck at getting the cold Nat, I hope it clears up quickly. I'd have to agree with Deb on the formula issue I think. It was great that Jeff thought of giving you some rest, may not have gone about it the right way, but at least he was thinking of you. IKWYM about time going so fast, we're going to be talking about 1st birthday parties before we know it!
Yay at the painting Zola, it's sooo much work but totally worth it in the end. Wow at Bas being in 00 clothes already, he's a big boy :)
Well I think I can finally tell you guys cos it's been going on for almost a wekk now.... Zander is only getting up once a night \:D/ He goes to bed at 10.45pm & is up around 4.30am and then he gets up around 7.00 or 8.00 for the day. It's great :D
Hi Everyone
You probably dont remember me as I have been MIA for so long, but hopefully I will be able to keep up with everything in here from now on, probably wishful thinking! But I will try!
Zola - wonderful to see a post from you, good luck with the painting!
Trish - I hope that you and Tehya are feeling better soon!
Sarah - Hope that you get a weekend to yourselves soon!
Fi - Totally know what you mean about winter sports...really bad idea for parents too. It was freezing at netball for us and we start at 8am, yuk!!!
Nat - The latest virus is the worst...keeps coming back! I hope that you feel better soon!
Nell - Great that Matty is doing so well! Gotta love the busy weekends. NOT!
Deb - Congrats on the cleaning frenzy! I just need to do mine now! You've inspired me! Hope you have another good day with Gabby!
Hope that I havent missed anyone!
I am doing okay, well, sort of! I have been pretty down lately and feeling crappy but am slowly getting better. DH bought me a new car, so I have a 2005 Nissan X Trail now, which is brilliant. Hayley is fine, had her needles on Saturday and she was just brilliant, and is being pretty good now too! Today is my first day that I actually have the house to myself, YAY!!! I usually have people here everyday and its beginning to drive me insane, I just want some free time, which is why I havent been able to get online, too many visitors! So i decided that today I would make the most of it and returned phone calls that I have been meaning to do for ages and now I am finally posting properly for the first time in ages!!!
I will hopefully be able to find time to get online once a day, that is my mission! Hayley has a hearing test at the hospital on Wednesday, so that will be fun! Apart from that she is doing really well, still pretty small, but definitely growing!
Hope that I can become one of the group again!
Good to hear from you Dinky :) Yay at the new car & also to finally getting a day to yourself! That's great to hear that Hayley is growing well as well.
YAYYYYYYYYY for Zander finally getting the sleeping thing down pat! You must feel like a new woman, Sarah! LOL - yes... a bit hard for you to leave early from both of those events. Well... after that maybe a weekend to yourselves??
Dinky - good to see you back online! And yay at a day to yourself for once. The visitors do get rather tedious, don't they? Sounds like Hayley is doing well. Yay @ the new car - I am very jealous! Not sure how long my old, banged-up XF is gonna keep going! I think I would look good in a black Ford Territory ghia... what do you reckon?? ;)
We had big news on the weekend. My sister, Hanna, has been with her BF for about 7 years now. N E way, he is the son of the guy that owns the local BMW car dealership - "Peck and Stokes". Anyway, in a small town like Geelong, anyone with a little bit of money has a bit of celebrity status so everyone knows everything that happens to Mr. Peck. Well, they sold out! Worse still, they sold to Rex Gorell who owns Ford and Subaru and countless other car dealerships here in Geelong. Apparently he used to own BMW before Mr. Peck and his partner got hold of it. Hanna's BF is still going to manage Peck and Stokes (which won't change its name) but it's almost like his legacy has been ripped out from under his feet.
Hmmm... so if my sister gets married, her in-laws are multi-millionaires... interesting! LOL
Girls - I agree with you. There's no point getting upset about it. I'm just mad at myself because I couldn't say thank you for doing it - I just sort of said aha. The main thing is Jacob got fed when he needed to.
Nell - A g/f was doing the CD's for a while from a stall at Bayside S/C but she wasn't there last week. If you or anyone else want I can email her and ask if they are still doing them. I think they were about $24.95.
Trish - So glad to hear that Tehya is doing better and coming home
Sarah - Woo hoo at Zanders lovely sleeps!
Dinky - Good to hear from you and glad to hear that Hayley is doing well. I'm not looking forward to our first needles - I'm such a woosie. Huge woo hoo on the car!!
Hi All,
Glad to hear Tehya is home. Poor thing, I've been thinking about her all weekend.
We had a busy one. Yesterday I had a netball coaching course I had to attend or my club would get fined. It was OK, but it was all day, so we had to jiggle feeds and expressing and bottles, plus on that Shane had to fit in a trip to the dr (on a bloody sunday!!!) because Jenna has conjunctivitis. With the eye drops (3 days worth) it is already looking better. The Dr said we panicked way too early, but I dont like seeing anything wrong with missy-moo, so I'm not that worried about what they think. But Daddy loved giving her a bottle of EBM (like LOVED it!!!!) and is pestering me to do it more often! ALthough I was amused at how busy he siad his day was, and how little she slept. Thankfully we had a good night, and she slept from 5-8:30, then 10-4, then 5-8!! Yay! She's down now, hopefully she stays.
Yay Zola on painting the house. I'm so pleased its someone else. I never want to see a paintbrush again after finishing lara. Hopefully we wont have to for at least a year!
Sarah - double yay on Zander! Do you think you did anything special to make it all happen, or did the little man just need some time? Hopefully life starts getting easier for you now. Good luck on the parties. I dont think I have the patience for them anymore, but maybe in a couple of months I'll feel differently.
Deb - bummer on the cats. Shane told me to call you guys and tell Neil it was all his fault!! He probably riled up the dockers. LOL.
Dinky - welcome back, lovely to see you and hayley are doing well. And double yay on the new car. I dream of the day I dont have to drive a ute anymore. we are off to NZ next weekend, and thankfully I will have a few days of driving their saab. Nothing like a european car to make you feel normal. Specially when you compare it to the ute!!!
Gotta go - she'd cracking it next door!!!
Fi
LOL @ Shane. So do you think you will express more so that he can feed Jenna?
Nat - good to hear that you are in a good place with the formula thing. I am sure your DH knows that you were grateful for the rest!
Sounds like daddy really enjoyed feeding Jenna hey Fi?! How good is it that he got to see how busy your day can be, a bit of a wakeup call!!! I think Alexzander just needed some time to work out his sleep. I have found though if I give him his bottle earlier than 10.00 he doesn't sleep as well & will be up a few more times than if I do it after 10.00. It just means I have to juggle the rest of the days feeds to make sure he can have one at 10.00. I love going to parties, everyone wants a cuddle so I potentially could get a few hours off. Also I appreciate it more cos I am out of the house, I'm going stir crazy being here all day every day.
Meant to mention before Nat, I'm going to get the books with Zander's name in them. I have a pamphlet here so am planning on ordering some for Christmas. You can get them put into a Santa story or a whole bunch of Disney stories - Finding Nemo, Alladin etc.
Oh yeah Deb, I feel great now that I'm getting some good sleep. Usually I get 5hrs then 2 or 3hrs & I'm loving it :D Wow at Hanna's boyfriends family being millionaire, pretty cool!
Deb - I have a pile of frozen bottles in the freezer, we just dont really make the time for him to do it. Although he's getting more confident with amounts and defrosting the stuff, so I'm guessing the next time he's babysitting and she cracks it, he might just help himself and I'll have to express when I get home!! At least I dont have any problems doing it - I regularly get 60mls from each side if not more, and its SUCH a bonus being able to hand-express. I'm glad I learnt how.
Bloody child has just woken up again!! Everytime I get on to this string!! Does she have some sort of psychic ability or what?
Fi
Hey girls,
POsted on friday but my computer froze and I lost it. Got back on to post and every time I pushed the space bar an apostrophy would appear, so I decided I couldn't be bothered!!
Went to mum's for the w/e, went to see the local theatre comp play... Peter Pan. It was actually quite good :) Wato's mum makes all the costmes... talented woman she is! Just don't go to her house when it is all most prodution time!! Clothes form A-hole to breakfast!! LOL
Then yesterday it was my nieces 3rd bday. We got her a My Little Pony and a colouring book.
Went Swimming on Friday with Emily... My first outing without Violet! Picked up my chair, which is fantastc! everyone including the cat sits in it... but it's MY chair :)
Emily has been suffering from a cold... now Violet has caught it...urghh. Thankfully it isn't too bad...yet!
Trish... I am glad they Teyah is on the mend... but I am sorry to hear you are suffering now!! Never end for you! I hope settles soon.
Deb, I had to lol at the dockers story. Good on Niel for calling out... it's just too bad the Cats lost! I tipped the Cats! Darn it! At least the Woodsmen won again :D
Sarah, Yay for more sleep, and yay for new clothes!
Fi, sorry to hear your team lost. If Shane wants to look after her more...let him I say :)
Nat, sorry to hear you house has been suffering from yucky bugs lately.
Zola, good to hear from you. I have Violet in 00 too now although she still fits in a lot of her 000's too, I think the 000 suits are way to small!
Dinky, great to hear you are getting some time without visitors. Totally cannot relate tho... I never get visitors :( ...lol
Well, I did my best to catch up, but thats what you get for not posting for a few days!
Tanya
Hi Girls,
While I have read over the last 3 pages I have not a chance at the moment of catching up with it all.
Thankyou all for you well wishes. Tehya was discharged today from hosp. and we have to see the Paed again on Friday if I can get through to make the damn appt) I think she still wouldn't be in if I hadn't kept on persisting and pushing for follow ups. My GP actually referred her for a chest xray on Friday morning and the Dr at the radiologist centre told me that she had pneumonia and that I should take her straight back to the Dr's. By the time I had gotten there the radiologist had faxed through the report and he was waiting for me. One look at the xray and we were sent straight back to the hosp.
We got through triage pretty quickly but stayed down in the E.R until 7 that night (we'd gotten there at 12.30pm) The hardest thing was watching them try to put in the damn canula. After 2 attempts the first Dr gave up. He had tried both hands and one of them is still really bruised now. The next Dr searched her for what looked like a "good, juicy vein" she tried her right arm but that was no good too. Last attemp was her left foot, they wrapped her foot in a warm blanket to help it to swell. Thankfully this one worked because the next place was her head. She stayed on iv antibiotics until we were ready to leave today, but there aren't any for her to take now.
It's very noisy there and I think I averaged anout 3hours of broken sleep each night so that has played havock with my health and now I have a nasty case of tonsilitis. Think I need to take me to the Drs now :(
I took so pics of Tehya in the hosp and when I get the chance I will post some on her site. Of course she stayed happy and smiley throughout most of it. Part of the reason they sent us home on Tuesday night. baby was too happy. wtf!!!
One plus about being in hosp. though. Tehya has learnt how to self settle. I was just putting her down in her cot in there and she would fall asleep by herself. Have to wonder if it is just because she's sick though. Will keep trying it at home and see.
N E Ways, good to hear that all mums and bubs are doing well and I promise to do a proper catch up tomorrow. One tha's not all about us :)
Off to try and have a nap while she's asleep.
Take care
Trish
Hey Trish, glad to hear that Tehya is home and doing better, very scary for you. I hope that you get better soon, how's the rest of the gang going?
Deb - what a great day of cleaning you got done yesterday! Where did all that energy come from?
Sarah - yay for you and Zander! You must have thought it was weird the first night when you woke up later than normal, I hope it continues for you. What a great idea about the name in the book for Christmas, I've seen those things around and I might just have to get him one.
Nat - I'd really love to get his name in songs but it'll have to be at a later stage. The bucks aren't really there for us atm, but thanks for the offer.
Fi - glad to hear that Shane went well yesterday. You must be so looking forward to your NZ trip!
Dinky - great to hear from you, glad that things are going okay.
Tanya - great to hear from you as well. I hope that Violets cold doesn't get any worse.
Well had mums group and it went well. He didn't scream, thank goodness. He was a happy boy and was chatting away to the other bubs. Very cute!
Anyway - hope you girls don't mind me being in here - the 3-6 month thread isn't very active atm - not until you girls get there!
Sarah - thought the mods would have locked this thread by now or is there something else happening?
Trish - soooo good to hear from you. Sounds like hospital was fun - not! You must feel like a train wreck. Don't worry about catching up with us - just get some rest, girl!
Nell - good to hear that Matty behaved himself at mother's group. Of course you can hang out in here! We'll all be in the other thread before we know it n e way! It's almost like they need a 1-6 month thread instead of them being broken up so much. Although, I guess, there's a great deal of difference between a 1 month old and a 6 month old. Who knows, hey?
Tanya - awww... can't wait to buy Gabby a "My Little Pony"! So glad they are still in vogue. Hope your chair is nice and comfy (and that you have had a chance to sit in it!). It's always the way. Guess it's part and parcel of being a Mum - you have to share all your nice things. I told Mum off for giving us her barbie stuff from when she was little because we destroyed it all! I swear, we were devil children. Our barbies all ended up with new hair dos (leaving them bald after a while) and extra make-up (liquid paper). Nothing nice stayed nice. I hope Gabby doesn't inherit that trait!
I ended up getting out of the house n e way. I found myself eating anything and everything so I thought "Right! That's it!!" and jumped in the car. We visited a couple of people and came home after only having 1 cup of coffee and no nibbles. Thank goodness! I have told Neil to take the rest of the cake I baked to work tomorrow or otherwise I would eat it all. I can't be trusted!
Gabby has been gorgeous all day. She slept from 8-12pm today then cat-napped at my friend's house but she was happy when she was awake. Love these sort of days!
Sarah - I have already done one of those scrapbook pages (from the link you sent me). It's the "It's A Girl" page. It looks really good. Will take a pic once it is dry and in the album. I have also planned the first few pages and have collected bits and pieces to be included on the pages. I just have to get some more paper so will scope out some more stuff on ebay. Thanks once again for that link! It's great to get the bits and pieces already organised so that I can get an idea of how it all works. It's so much fun! I can see why you guys do it.
Deb, it sounded funny when you said you couldn't wait to get Gabby a My Little Pony, cause my neice is Gabby too :)
Great to hear from you Trish hope thigs are on the up and up... and stay there!
Tanya
Just a quick one - I could get interrupted at any second!!
Trish - I'm pleased that hospital wasn't too hard for Tehya - I wish it was easier on you, but I guess as adults we are better equipped to cope wit h these things huh? Hoping you both have a speedy recovery!
Jenna has a touch of conjunctivitis, which has got better already. Apparently the breastmilk in the eye thing is a good one! I feel like my eye is styarting to get stciky though too. Never mind.
First mothers group yesteday - seems like a nice mix of women. Should be good. Shame the nurse is a bit of a twit.
Myer sale - OMG!!! How good is it! I went last night and got some new maternity bras for really cheap!! And some granny undies as mine keep rolling under my belly. I'm still in a 16 though, which has got me totally depressed. I tried on some clothes as well and nothing fitted well. Of course I tried on Levis which are always small, and country road stuff which is even worse!!! Their 16s wouldn't even do up!!!! BUM!
OK - enough about me, but she's beginning to grizzle on her mat, so I might have to go. I have the musical toy going, and she loves it!! Yay, free entertainment.
Fi
Fi - Awww poor Jenna with her sticky eye! I hope a dose of BM does the trick! Bumma about the size 16 not fitting quite yet - but you are right, those brands probably put a size 16 tag on a size 12! Take heart... I haven't fit into a size 16 in very many years! LOL @ the free entertainment for Jenna! Gotta love that!
Tanya - that's uncanny that your neice is Gabby too!
After her bottle last night, I was wrapping Miss Gabby up and she was just so content so i thought I might put her down in her cradle awake to see what would happen. Within 2 minutes she drifted off to sleep all on her own! Not even one grizzle! It might have been a fluke but I will try it out again tonight. She slept through aswell so it didn't make a difference to her sleeping pattern. She's being a pain this morning but we have to go to mother's group n e way so she can sleep there! LOL (wishful thinking!)
Hi
Thought I would dash off a quick post before my visitors arrive again...grrr!!!
Fi - I hope that Jenna gets over her sticky eye soon. Bummer about the clothes not fitting, I am sure they are all getting smaller!
Deb - YAY on the self settling Gabby, what a good girl she is! It must be the time as Hayley has just started to do it too. Would love to know that link you used for scrapbooking, I am dying to start one for Hayley.
Trish - I hope that Tehya is on the mend, now its time for you to get better too!
Nell - It wont be long and we will all be in the 3-6m thread!
Tanya - Maybe I could send my visitors to you!
I know that I have forgotten a heap of people, sorry!!! Not much sleep here last night. Very frustrating. Had a brilliant day with Hayley yesterday but last night was a whole new thing, she just wouldnt settle at all. Hayley is finally growing and is out of a few of her 00000 and prem things, so we might be able to move her up to the 0000 things all the time now. That would be good.
Well, I better go as Hayley is down for a nap and I am hoping that I will be able to make a start on the housework and hopefully have some time to look at what shopping I need, cupboards are pretty bare atm. I am dreading my visitor, she is having trouble with her ex-hubby and is coming over to whinge yet again, she has been here every day with moans about him, at this point I dont really care and it means that I cant get done what I need to.
Oh well, I hope that you are all doing well and will catch up again soon.
Fi, sorry to hear that Jenna has conjunctivitis. Breast milk is supposed to work a trick on it. Hey, maybe you can try it in your own eye too ;) LOL I went out shopping with Mum last week and was trying on these pants in JayJays as they were all on special. 3 different pairs and none of them fitted me properly, the ones that I did manage to button up were so tight that my flabby belly just hung over them :( I refuse to buy the next size up too. The sad thing is I not long gave away all of my size 12 stuff before I fell pg with Tehya as I had gotten back down to a 10 finally. Now I have nothing that fits me.
Deb, hope that you have a great day today at your Mothers group today. Yay at Gabby going down by herself now too, hopefuly she keeps it up for you. Well done on the scrapbooking too girl. It's very relaxing and I find it's a great diet incentive. You don't want to eat while scrapping or you''ll get food on your pics. If you want some more scrappin sites let me know. I have heaps.
Sarah, hope that Zander is doing good. Great to hear that he is sleeping well for you too. So you too have been scrapping. You must share the web site with me that you have been looking at. Shame we all live so far apart, we could have scrappin days.
Nell, I think that the mods are letting the thread got he extra few days til the end of the month. Hope that Matty is going well.
Tanya, isn't it funny how the things we had as kids are coming back around. Like Cabbage Patch Kids, My Little Ponies and Care Bears. I love them all and can't wait to start buying them for Tehya. Hope that Violet's cold goes away soon and the other girls are all doing well.
Nat, those song tapes you are talking about. Can you get them in any name or just the more popular names? Hope thay Jacob is doing well too. Sounds like he is growing nicely.
Dinky, Good to hear that Hayley is doing well. And aren't you the lucky girl getting a new car. I so wish, instead I get a second hand old van. Oh well, better than walking.
Zola, good to hear that Bas is growing nicely too. I have Tehya is some 00's mostly for her length as she is still pretty skinny. I have her in the capsule in the car still but in the van she's in the reversable car seat an sits quite comfie in it. She is getting alittle long for the capsule.
I'm sure that I have forgotten somebody and I am truely sorry. Hope that you and your bubs are doing well too.
Well if poor Tehya didn't have enough on her plate at the moment she sure has now. Bloddy Noah tipped her rocker upside down this morning and trew her out of it straight down on her front. Totally flipped her. I had just walked into his room to put away some ironing when I heard this bang, I thought it was him jumping of the lounge, then I heard her scream. Poor bub cried for arouond 30 minutes. I have checked over completly and the only mark I an find is one on her chin. Hopefully there is nothing serious going on. She is still quite grizzly but I don't know if thats because she's not well or not.
Mark went out and brought a new heater to go in our room yesterday. We have to try and keep the house warm at all times for her atm. she could very easily get sick again. Fingers crossed she keeps getting better and not worse.
Take care
Trish
Yay for getting your chair Tanya, they're great aren't they :) Yuck at the cold going around you house as well. My little monkey is still in 000 clothes & some are still a bit long in the legs, maybe he's going ot be short like his mummy! You get no visitors huh? Well we'll just have to see about that when we come down to Victoria in November / December.
Yay at Tehya learning to self settle, I meant to reply to that SMS the other day, but Zander started playing up, sorry. LOL at scrapbooking being a good diet incentive! Poor Tehya being chucked out of her rocker. Any idea why he did it? Fingers crossed you can keep the house warm enough so Tehya doesn't get sick again.
Yay for mum's group going well yesterday Nell. And yeah I'd agree with Trish, Kathryn is probably just waiting out the end of the month rather than starting a new thread now. Don't worry about being in here either & like you said we'll all catch up soon enough :D
Deb it used to be 1-6months, but the threads just got soooo big that we changed it. LOL at barbies getting haircuts, we were talking about that just last night! My younger sister gave everything haircuts, even herself once! Yay for getting your first scrapbook page done :) Can't wait to see it. Yay at Gabby self settling last night, I wish!
Yuck at the conjunctivitis Fi, poor Jenna :( Bumma about the jeans not doing up. I'm in between sizes at the moment which is a real pain in the bum. 14s are too big, but 12s are too small ](*,) Glad your mother's group went well yesterday too.
Yay at Hayley growing into bigger clothes, it's like they get a whole new wardrobe every few months :) Bleurk at your visitor, what a pain coming to whinge every single day. I'll PM you the link as well for the scrapbooking stuff.
I'm really cranky at the moment. Zander's hammock has got paint chipping off it & I don't know where the paint chips went. I just hope he hasn't swallowed any of it. I've sent an e-mail to the company, hoping that they can do something about it.
I've decided to try something new as well with daytime sleeps. I put Zander in his cot at 11.10 & he has slept since which is unusual cos I only get 1/2 an hour unless he is being cuddled during the day. He had a bit of a grizzle a few minutes ago so I turned on his mobile, it has a remote control so I did from outside his room where he couldn't see me. He's quiet again, so I'm hoping he'll stay that way for a while.
Spoke too soon #-o
Wow Trish!! A mammoth post!! Naughty Noah - You must have to watch him like a hawk at the moment. IKWYM about the cold - the room we are sleeping in at my parents house is very damp and cold - I'm not sure how we are going to keep it warm. Also the dogs are used to sleeping on the bed, so we will have to keep the room shut up so they dont get in. They wont like that!!! Keep your little girl bundled up - you dont want her getting worse.
Dinky - I reckon clothes are getting smaller too - although I did check out my arse and backfat - I really need to start a dieting regime!! I am also determined to exercise at least 5 days a week. Netball training tonight, so it should be OK. I am desperate to get back into my favourite size12 jeans before the end of winter! Have fun with the housework and the visitor. Hopefully she brings something nice to nibble on!!
Deb - Yay on the self settling!! At mothers group yesterday I couldn't see any point in cuddling Jenna when she was happy, so I just put heron the rug on the floor, she giggles away for 10-15 mins, then bugger me she went to sleep!! The problem was she wasn't wrapped, so she kept jerking and waking herself up.
Tanya - hope you are enjoying your chair!! Can the cats get up there with you? I miss cuddling mine in bed - sometimes we let them in if Jenna has had a 4am or later wake up. They burrom under the covers and lean against us. Very cute!
Sarah - its great you are working out a routine with Zander. I guess what they say is true - the first 6 weeks are the toughest!! Lookingback, would you do anything differently?? I dont mean to drag up regrets, but I'm interested in your lessons learned. I think we will all do things a bit differently next time around.
Oh - and I meant to say we got 8:30 to 5am!!!!! Well she woke up at 4am, but then Shane cuddled her while I got up and made a cup of chamomile tea and expressed a bit (I was rock bloody hard....) - when I got back they were both asleep again!!
What bliss - here's hoping some of it continues!
Fi
Just popping in to say hi to everyone but especially to say get well soon to Teyha and Trish. Boy things have been tough for your whole family health wise Trish, so I hope you all feel better soon.
Best wishes Michelle
I'm not sure that I would do all that much differently Fi. I love the cuddles we have together cos I know that all too soon he'll be too big to cuddle up & go to sleep on mummy's knee. It is tough & people say about making a rod for you back & whatever, but I'm happy to go about things this way for the moment. It's just sometimes I need to have a break.
Well, there he goes again, so I'm off.
Awww Trish! Poor little Teyah!! Emily rocks Violet in her rocker quite vigorously, but has never tipped her out... yet. I try to keep her away from her when she is in the rocker. There has been a couple of time when she has actually stepped on her, she just wasn't watching where she was going... she is usually coming to me when she does it and only looks at me when she comes and not around her. Poor babies have to put up with a lot when their older siblings are toddlers.
Deb, Well done with the self settling! I'm sure she will do it again, it is a great habbit to get her into.. imagine a toddler wanting to be cuddled to sleep.... ahhhh!! LOL
Sarah, I hope you can get some better sleep out of Zander with a change... fingers crossed!
My chair is great... just ask everyone who lives here :) I still need a pillow to rest bub on tho, but it beats my couch!
As for visiting... Would love to see you :) ... I am still hoping that we will make it to Melb this year... Then I can hopefully meet Deb, Fi, Nell, Nat, Kazz, Cailin, Kelly, Rob, Shannon, Mitch (thats if they all go) and whoever else goes.... :)
Fi, I used to loooove sleeping with Dusty like that, but Wato never likes sleeping with the cats in the room (he has a slight allegy to them). One night I had him under the covers and wato comes in and asks if there were any cats... I said no. Right after I said it Dusty popped his head out and shoock it so his bell rang.. so he got kicked out...lol... silly puss!
Dinky, you can keep your visitors if they just come around to winge! But you must be a great friend if they come over to talk to you about there probs... good on you! It's just too bad that it happens every day!
Trish I love all the revamped toys! Cause I was playing with them the first itme around (I was still in primary school), now my girls get to play with them too!! Cool thing is I still have my care bare (that my sister gave to me for one of my bdays many years ago) that the girls all love now! I also have a few other toys too. One is a toy train that is still in its box. I was never allowed to play with it! Now it is still in mint condition... My parents knew that if I had've gotten my hands on it it would've been DISTROYED!
Well Violet had a problem yesterday evening... I don't think she was feeling very well... poor chook! Hopefully today is better. She is still a little sniffly.
Tanya
Wow! So much to catch up on!
Trish - LOL @ scrapping being a diet incentive. Great idea! I am sooooo keen now! I noticed that Target have some scrapping packs so I am going to check those out. If Sarah hasn't already, I will email you and Dinky the link that she sent me for an ebay scrapping shop. They have pages that are already set up for you with all the bits and pieces but you can lay them out whichever way you like. I will take pics of the 2 pages that I did last night while the Gabster slept. Nordy Noah!! My gosh! Was he upset when he saw how he had hurt Tehya? I bet he felt rotten.
Tanya - good to hear your chair is nice and comfy :) The self settling is great but I am glad I let it be her idea instead of letting her cry it out like all those videos suggest. She goes to sleep on her own during the day in her rocker. I just have to wrap her and shove her dummy back in a few times before she nods right off. That would be sooooo cool if you can make it to Melbourne for the xmas do!! I reckon it will be heaps better this year now that we all have our bubs.
Fi - so typical of Jenna to fall asleep at mother's group! Gabby did that today too but I was cuddling her unwrapped. As soon as I tried to put her down to wrap her, she woke up. Ah well! It's good that you can still let the cats have a little snuggle time. I bet they miss you more than you miss them! ;) Oh and... WOO HOO @ Jenna's grrrreat sleep last night! Hope she keeps it up for you! I can only imagine how full your boobs would have been.
Sarah - that's a pity about the paint chips on Zanders hammock. I hope they can do something about it. Not good for baby things that have probs like that (esp. brand new!). Hope his new routine starts working out. It's all trial and error, hey?
We ended up having a huge day today. Went to Mum's group. I gave Gabby a bottle of EBM that I collected over 2 mornings but I think it was too much cos she spewed a number of times which is not like her. Still, she was happy enough! I put her on her tummy and all the other Mums could not believe how well she held up her head. Even one of the 3 month old boys there couldnt' hold his head up as well as her. Of course, I am as proud as punch! ;) We all had a good chat after the session was over which was good but I think I talked a little too much (which I tend to do... I am sure you guys can gather that from my long-winded posts!) so I am determined not to rabbit on next week and let some others get some words in edge ways!
When I got out, I had a message from Erin to meet she and Hanna for lunch at the Barwon Club which is a really cool pub. So off Gab and I went. I fed her there and she slept the whole time through lunch. Lovely! We then went back to Erin's and watched DVDs. So I have been out all day! Gabby was exhausted so is now fast asleep in her bouncer. Best of all, Erin made us some lasagne so I don't even have to cook! Woo hoo!
Deb I e-mailed Trish & PMed Dinky about the scrapping link. Wow you did have a big day! Glad Gabby was good for it :) And yay at her being so advanced on her tummy! Oh and enjoy your lasagne.
Yay on trying to make it to Melbourne this year Tanya, can't wait to see everyone again :) Yuck at Violet being sniffly, I hope she's feeling better.
The hammock people are sending a cover for the damaged part, but still I'm not happy with the whole situation. If it was 2nd hand fine, but this thing is only 6 weeks old so it's really annoying. I'm going to put him to sleep in his room, in his cot tonight even if it means getting up 100 times. I'm not risking anything happening to my poor little bubba.
