Now let's see if I can remember what everyone said....

Someone asked about the bath seat (Nell?) & yes it's very easy to use. I find it really awkward to hold Zander in the bath & my wrists aren't great so I get sore really easily. I let him sit in the seat on his own (obviously standing right by him) so he can splash about & he loves it. I would definately reccommend it.

Tanya, if you don't make it to the Chrissy party this year we'll come & visit for sure

Fi, if Jenna is chucking that much I'd say she has reflux, poor bubba Does it bother her? If not, they call them "happy chuckers" & won't do anything about it. If it does bother her - as in she cries alot, arches her back before feeding, is really fussy feeding - then you might need to get her on some medication to help her. Generally though to help, raise her bed head (they say 30degrees) using phone books, keep her upright for about 30mins after a feed and try to keep her upright as much as possible (which you're doing with her sling now anyway). If you want anymore info, pop over to the Reflux, Colic & Teething forums - Christy is a fantastic help & there are also threads in there with a heap of info.

I think that was all the questions. Sorry if I missed any. Well, I'm off to bed seeing as it's midnight & all! Talk to you lovely ladies tomorrow, um today - ah you know what I mean!

    We're off for a picnic today - Zander's first

Hope you guys are having great weekends!

    :

Have fun on your picnic sarah,
it's raining here today so we're just staying home.
I had forgotten how much poo can come out of such a little person, yesterday when i was getting Ryan ready for his bath, i could smell he'd done one, when i opened his nappy, it just looked like a little one, until i turned him over to take his clothes off, he'd got it all the way up his back to his neck ](*,) i don't know how he managed it, but while i was cleaning him up he laughed at me! Cheeky monkey, it's funny now, but at the time it was gross.
  5. 1 Month - 3 Months, May '05

    :

Scarlett - DOH! #-o I am so sorry for calling Emily, Charlotte! I must have got you and Maryann mixed up. Urrgh, I am dopey. Huge apologies! Hope you can forgive me 8-[

Sarah - the pixi photos of Zander are awesome! What a cutey! Hope you have a great time on your picnic today!

Fi - eww on the chucking. Gabby chucks sometimes but not a great deal. Hope that Jenna doesn't have reflux. BTW, when I ordered the hug a bub, they told me that they didn't have any black ones for me so I ordered a different colour. They didn't have that either! So then I chose yet another colour then I got a phone call saying that they now have a black one! LOL. They are putting it in the post on Tuesday so I should get it by the end of the week. Thank goodness! I have things to do and it will be so much easier with Gabby-girl strapped to me Nice and toasty warm too!

Nell - I used a bath seat too and they are great. Saves your back. I put a cloth nappy on the seat first tho because I worry with all her kicking around that she is going to hurt her privates on the bit that juts out, LOL. It's worth getting one tho.

No such a good sleep last night tho I still shouldn't complain. Neil was a good boy and caught the 10pm train home like he promised. We got home at about 12:30am, gave Gabby her bottle (which she scoffed down). She had been windy all night (the girls all hung out while the boys were at the footy). So it was hard to get her to sleep. She only slept from 1-6am which I know sounds pretty good still but it was the one night when I neeeeeeded more sleep! I have only just settled her down for another nap now. Neil has promised me that he will take her for a couple of hours later today so that I can vacuum. I want to do a thorough job!

    Doh, she's crying.

    :

\/ YAY for Neil coming home nice & early!! What a pain with the hug-a-bub Deb, at least you got the black one in the end.

Yucky at that nappy Naomi, we haven't had one of those just yet! I checked out the boys websites a little early & you do has some cuties over theres

Well we're off soon. Zander is rugged up cos it has started getting cold - it was sooo warm this morning #-o Also going out for dinner with the inlaws for Aaron's birthday tonight. I got the impression that they didn't want us to bring Zander for some reason. I spoke to Aaron about it & he said Zander could go to mum's so we can have dinner & not has to fuss over him the whole time. We are going to take him to mum's but still that's not the point - they didn't want him there

I think I'll give up trying to get my details posted at the beginning of each tread.

Had a pretty good night last night. Bub didn't wake up toill 5am after feeding her at 9pm and topping her up at 11pm... so I'm happy with that.

Deb, sounds like you are tired, I hope you get a nap in today as well as the vacuuming.

Ewwww at all that poo Naomi... but IKWYM!!

Hope your picnic is fun Sarah.

Fi, I use a cloth nappy for chucks too. Although Violet doesn't chuck a great deal. Em never threw up... it was GREAT!!

Just realised - Happy 6 weeks to Violet & Alexzander

    :

Thanks Sarah and Deb, glad you guys recommend them as we went out and bought one today. Also bought the little man a cute little bonds top and I saw those 'I love Mummy and Daddy' sets you were talking about - too cute!

Happy six weeks for Zander and Violet today and for Gabby tomorrow.

Naomi - forgot to say that's great about Ryan and he's laughing. I keep waiting and hoping for Matty to laugh. Did Ryan have his shots? Matty has his on Tuesday.

Pretty busy day, went out shopping no noone will visit us, bad isn't it! Have just done some work out the back so now I am well and truly stuffed. Might watch Logies toinight, see all the chicks dressed up.
  10. 1 Month - 3 Months, May '05

    :

Sarah, gorgeous pics of Zander. I love the one of him on the blue rug, too cute. I hope you have a good night out to dinner tonight, despite the company Maybe they thought that you might enjoy it more without bub there. I actually enjoy getting to have a decent feed without having to worry about the kids.

Deb, yay at Neil coming home on time. Sounds like you got a good nights sleep on Friday night, I wish Tehya would sleep for 8 hours straight. Bugger about last nights efforts though, heres to a good night tonight.

Tanya, Violet is a good girl sleeping all that time for you. Have to be happy with that. Noah never threw up either. I remember saying to Mum that his spew button was broken, it was great. Mark thought that there was something wrong with Tehya because she has a little chuck after some feeds, I had to explain that it was normal, Noah was the one who wasn't.

Naomi, how cute Ryan is laughing, it's like they have their own private jokes hey.
Don't you just love nappies like that. Thankfully Tehya hasn't gone past the top of her nappy yet. She has gotten it right to the top of the front of her nappy though. YUCK!!! I guess she hasn't got extra bits like the booys to hold it down

Fi, hopefully Jennas chucking is nothing to worry about and is just over flow. Yay on the good expressing effort tooo. Another step towars soome freedom for a bit hey.

Tehya is being really unsettled last night and today. Not really sure what is wrong. Did I say I would have 10 like her??? Can I retract that now please. SHe was up and down aleast 6 times last night. I was so tired before I went to bed last night and woke this morning even worse. Had a kip on the couch with her this morning and again this arvo but still stuffed. Tehya is still sooking too.

I had a little drive of the van today and am happy to say no bunny hopping or stalling \/ even had to reverse it to park. Not sure how I'd go driving it into the shopping centre and stuff like that though. I get stressed out too easily and if I had someone riding my butt or Noah was being a terd I think I would have problems. I found an upside to a van though. If you turn the radio up lousd enough you can nearly (and I do say nearly) block out the kids.

Sorry, I know that I'ved missed people out, I just can't remember the rest of the posts. Better go, my "Princess" is demanding my attention once again!!!

    Take care

    :

Sarah, how rude of your inlaws not wanting Zander there  i would deffinately be giving them a talking to or i would refuse to visit.
Thank you for the compliment on my babies, i checked out zanders site, he is adorable, and Ryan also has that grey bunny suit.
    Happy birthday to aaron

Nell, Ryan had his shots a week past thursday, he screamed until i put a bottle of EBM into his mouth, it pays to be prepared LOL

Deb, YAY on Neil being home early
i hope Gabby isnt too windy for you tonight and you can get more sleep

I hope everyone else is doing ok.

Ryan was up most of last night, i think he had a belly ache, i'm not suprised though with the amount he has been feeding.
He slept all day though and is due for a feed soon and hopefully he sleeps ok tonight.

    Take care
  13. 1 Month - 3 Months, May '05

    :

We ended up giving up on the whole picnic idea cos it got insanely cold & I just wasn't taking Zander out in that weather. So the people we were going with came here for a BBQ instead.

LOL at going shopping so noone will visit Nell!! So did you watch the Logies? I watched some from about 10.00 - mostly cos I knew I would get interested in another show & I was too tired!

Good night out with my inlaws Trish?? Not likely! From the minute we left at 7.00 til the minute we got home at 9.40 they were at Aaron - mostly about him quitting uni, man that was nearly 7 years ago, GET OVER IT!!!! Sorry, just really annoyed cos they do it all the time. YAY at driving the van well and LOL at being able to drown the kids out with the radio!

Naomi, that's just what my inlaws are like. Last night my MIL complained about not being able to babysit Zander yet (yeah right that's gunna happen!) & said when I have the next one she has to get first dibs on babysitting especially if it's a girl. Like it should matter what sex the baby is! Poor Ryan with his belly ache, was he any better last night?

Well, we have our 6w appointment today & I have a thousand things to ask about Zander. I'm also giving our Dr a bit of a warning about my sister... She was going in tomorrow for something else, but on Saturday night she had a bit of an incident that landed her in emeergency at the hospital  She's 20 & when she was 15 she passed out due to heat exhaustion & not drinking, even stopped breathing on us. Well, same thing happened at about midnight on Saturday. Problem was she was out the back with friends, felt a bit sick so went to go inside & didn't make it. She scraped her face down the brick wall & put her tooth through her lip - ouchy! At the hospital they checked her BP & it was waaaay too high for her age. Her friend's mum is a nurse & she told Amanda that at her age her BP should never get as high as it was & that she needs to get whatever tests done to sort it out. Soooo because she isn't real keen on Drs I'm going to warn him today & go with her to see him tomorrow. Gosh that turned out to be very long winded!! Sorry guys :-#

    :

OMG Sarah! Your poor sister! How frightening. Good on you for going with her to your doctor. She certainly needs to nip whatever it is in the bud. How scary! Urrgh @ your ILs! As for them babysitting esp. if it's a girl!! My God! Poor Zander will grow up with a complex if they keep those comments up. Any wonder you want to avoid them!

Trish - LOL @ drowing the kids out with the radio. That's what I do when Gabby is screaming...

DAMN! That's what she is doing now... will be back to finish my post!
  15. 1 Month - 3 Months, May '05

    :

Oh no about your sister Sarah! I hope that she is okay! Good luck for the 6 week check up. I did watch some of the Logies. I ended up back on the computer looking for photos of Matthew for the 2 scrapbooks I am doing my mum and MIL for Mothers Day, yes I know, better get cracking, look like I'll have a few late nights finishing them. At least I have my page layouts in mind, I reckon that's half the battle.

Naomi - hope Ryan slept well. Matthew slept from 7.30pm to 6.15am - unbelievable! He has had a feed, up for a little while and now he is back asleep, which is good in a way as it means he'll be awake hopefully for our first mum's group this afternoon.
  16. 1 Month - 3 Months, May '05

    :

Morning ladies, i hope you all managed to get a good nights sleep

Sarah, i hope your sister is ok poor chook
your inlaws sound like very "interesting" people, if MIL doesn't want him there when you are only going for dinner, what right does she have to ask to babysit, Sorry but there is no way in hell my MIL would get near him if she behaved like that, you poor thing.
Why is she so intent on you having a girl? I rememer when you were pg she wanted you to have a girl too

Nell LOL at you going out to avoid visiters, how is the new house going?

Fi, poor Jenna do you think she has reflux?

We didn't have such a bad night last night, He had a feed at 11pm, and then woke at 5.30 and went straight back to sleep, he's now sitting in his rocker watching Toy story with Nick talking to himself, so cute.
  17. 1 Month - 3 Months, May '05

    :

Ok... back! She always seems to wake up with wind after an hour or so with her morning nap. Doesn't matter how much I burp her. Ah well.. she will grow out of it!

    Where was I?

Nell - that's a good idea making scrapbooks for the Mum's. I bet they will love them. I gave Mum one of those "Grandma's Little Boasting Book" photo albums and she carries that around in her hand bag. I don't blame you for not wanting visitors. Sometimes it can just be a pain in the bum when you want to get things done or you might just want to relax and be a family at home.

Naomi - I hope Ryan slept a little better for you last night. If he slept well during the day it could be a good thing. People freak out when I say that Gabby sleeps better at night if she sleeps well during the day. I guess it means she is more settled on those days.

I managed to get the house all vacuumed yesterday. Neil looked after Gabby for a couple of hours while he watched the footy. Oh... yeah... have to say it: "GO GEELONG!". It was a very convincing win as they christened the new grand-stand that they have built @ Kardinia Park. It looks great. It has certainly changed the look of the place! Very fancy and swish for little ole' Geelong! I used to barrack for the Western Bulldogs so it's kind of bitter sweet that Geelong won but, still, it keeps Nobba happy so that's all that matters Anyway... got the house cleaned and it feels much better now - esp. when I put Gabby down to play. Not so much crud surrounding her, LOL.
She slept for 8 hours last night 8-[ AND she slept through Neil having a shower which was a shock. I woke up and couldn't get back to sleep (wouldn't you know it!!) so I managed to have breaky before she stirred and had a nice, big feed. Her play times are starting to last a bit longer and her smiles are bigger and more frequent! She had a good old chat to me this morning. It was wonderful!
I think the key to her sleeping for a while is the bath. It really relaxes her and wears her out. I generally give her a BF, bath her @ around 9:30-10pm, then give her a bottle (sometimes she drinks heaps... other times barely 30mls) and zonks it. I'm pretty lucky that it works for me

Hmmm.. might try and make scones today with my new oven! Hopefully the cooktop, rangehood and dishwasher will be functional after Neil's bro comes over today. Although... I seem to remember saying that a week ago.....

    :

Sorry Naomi, posting at the same time...
YAY for Ryan's good sleep last night! You must feel a little more refreshed. How cute that he is watching Toy Story. Gabby sometimes looks at the TV but I can't wait until she is interested in what is actually on. I guess being able to focus her eyes more will help
