Hi,
Boy its ages since I wrote and I'm sorry. Snowy, Tegan and everyone else I hope your okay and dachlostar thanks for the really kind e-mail checking on how we were.
I don't know where the time has gone. Zayed is nearly 4 months now and I just feel like we live in the hospital or at the Drs.
When he was first born he wouldn't feed so was syringe fed and then would take forever to feed once he did decide to drink and then he stopped breathing and had to be admitted into hospital for observation. He is also in and out for his kidney which only now are they willing to do something. Yesterday we finally found out that he has a blockage in his right kidney and am waiting now to see if I have to bring him home for an operation. I just wish they could say yes or no.
ANyway i spent the morning in the embassy trying to do his citzenship papers and they made me so mad. First of all they don't take credit cards anymore only cash or bankdrafts. Anyway luckily I had enough cash as they are only open for 1hr twice a week. I made sure I had all the papers in order and had them check as weel and they said everything is fine come back next week. I left and was going to the car when they called me and said I had forgoten something and could I come back. I said oh what is it? She said no please just come back, so I did to be told they needed the arabic birth certificate which on the paper they gave me said wasn't required if I had the english birth certificate. Anwyay they said the rules had changed. Also why couldn't she have told me that on the phone? Arghhhhhhh. Anyway I rushed home to get everything and was with DH and asked him to put everything together so I could just get out and go in, as I was driving well he didn't put the original with the photocopy and drove off leaving me there. I was so mad I could of killed him. Anyway finally he came back and I just made it in time.
You would think my day would get better but no. We went to Starbucks and I ordered a blueberry muffin which actually turned out to be a banana blueberry muffin and I'm allergic to banana. I now have really bad stomache cramps but luckily only ate a little bit so was able to get home and take my medicine before it got worse, but the stupid waitress argued with me saying but its blueberry. I know that but it also has banana in it and I just wanted to slap her because I wasn't making it up and felt like she thought I was crazy or somthing.
Sorry for this epic post but I now feel much better and will try and be better with checking in and seeing how you all are. I just find that I am so busy with Drs apointments and then Jassim needs my attention when Zayed is asleep, so I try to spend as much time with him as I can and then the day has just gone.
I can hear Zayed complaining so better go.
Take care

Oh Mel, hugs to you, sounds like you have had a terrible run, hope it is all sorted out soon and the medical stuff is sorted as well.

Hello girls,
sorry for my long silence. We flew to NZ to see my best friend 2 weeks ago, then flew to Melbourne last weekend to visit DH's elder sister and husband, who are 11 weeks pregnant with their first (very exciting).
I am also doing some freelance work and have some very important meetings today and tomorrow, so this will just be a short post - so no time for personals, sorry.
Haven't been online in March at all I think because the division into 3-6 months is new, isn't it?
Wolf has been laughing so much recently. It is so adorable. A real person laugh, IYKWIM. It's unpredictable when it will happen (we try and try and try) but when it happens, I could just melt. It is so cute! Wolf is still not rolling onto his back. He was trying for some time and manages to get on his side, but hasn't been trying for a week or so. He has been so good and happy the last few weeks - I can't believe how content he is. Only whinge I have is that he wakes 2-3 times at night still.. hmmm.. my mom says I should give him solids before bed time, my MIL says I should give him water when he wakes. I just ignore all that and just continue breastfeeding him fully. 2 more months before I want to try other foods/drinks.
Hope everyone is well. I hope I'll have more time when I get back to Germany to post more regularly again.
Oh yeah, and my hair has started to fall out like crazy :( .. not impressed...
Snowy

Snowy its funny that you say your hair is falling out. Is that normal after having a baby? Mine has been falling out heaps over the last 3-4 weeks and that is not normal for me. I have extremely thick hair, so I'm not concerned about going bald. But it was a shock.
Dachlostar Alana's hair is amazing. She gets so many comments about it. I have spent all my life people commenting on how thick my hair is, so I imagine this is just the beginning for Alana. Poor DB is balding so of course he always gets the comments "she has more hair than her Daddy", "she didn't get that hair from you"!
Mel I hope Zayed kidney problem can be sorted out. I know how draining having to go to the hospital is. When we found out about Alana having CF we were at the hospital all the time. Now its once a month. Hopefully we will be able to go a little bit longer next time.
Embassys are the biggest pain in the ass to deal with. I remember when my SIL was working out her citizenship for here and I accidently messed up one of the forms, I tried to ring the embassy to get a new one and I just kept going around in a circle on a voice message-press 1 for this, press 2 for that!
Alana gets weighed tomorrow and then she has her Paed appointment on Monday. So fingers crossed Alana has put on heaps of weight!
-
Yeah my hairs been falling out too although it seems to have slowed down a bit now. I'm thinking of cutting it short so it doesn't seem so much. I think that its not going bald so much as going back to its pre-preg state. I read somewhere that all the HGH when you are pregnant makes your hair grow faster and thicker so when it leaves your hair goes back to normal and also your fingernails.
Snowy, I hope your meetings go well. Yasin still wakes at night but it doesn't really worry me. He'll grow out of it eventually. Its when he won't go back to sleep that I find it hard to deal with.
Mel, I hope that you get all your paperwork finished soon and that the hospital can give you a definate answer about whether Zayed will need an op or not. It must be a killer not knowing what is going to happen.
The crawling saga continues at my place. Yasin yells because he's frustrated that he can't crawl so I pick him up and then he yells to be let back down onto the floor so he can keep trying, then he gets frustrated again ........ I try and distract him with toys, reading to him etc. but it never works for long, he's so stubborn already.
-
Hi,
I have spent the whole morning running around picking up Zayeds ultrasounds, x-rays and reports as I was able to get him an apt at 6pm tonight so see the specialist so hopefully we will know something.
I remember with Jassim my hair would just fall out all over the place and my hairbrush was just full of hair. ITs normal, so dont worry and what dachlostar is right. You don't lose your hair when your pregnant, so you lose it all now.
Zayed is a happy baby thankgoodness and Snowy he rolls onto his side too, so I don't think it will be long before Wolf will be rolling over. I remember Jassim when he first rolled over he did all day and then nothing for a week or two. ITs funny how they learn something and then decide not to do it again.
Anyway I have lots to do and photocopying of reports so I can fax them all to my Mum and she can get an opinion in Aus for me as well.
Take care

Eliana was babysat last night (by DP's mum) & we went out for the first time by ourselves!! Neil Diamond was awesome - the best concert I have ever been to & can't believe how close I was to him - it was an amazing experience & he sang for over 2 hours without leaving the stage.
Needless to say all my worrying & planning in case anything went wrong at home was laid to rest as she was an angel for her Nan. I've started her on some Farex this week (the baby not Nan) & she loves it.
Sorry no personals - I'm online between tv shows!!
-
Hi girls
I lost so much hair in the last month I was seriously considering something else as the cause, but now that you all have the same I feel more relieved.
Good luck with Zayed's appt Mel, hope they work everything out.
And hi to all.
Cheers Michelle
-
hurrah for some peace and quiet!!! Yasin is asleep and I couldn't be happier. In the last couple of days he has gone from chatty to just plain noisy. He loves the sound of his own voice. If he's happy he yells, if he's cross he yells, if he's frustrated he yells, if he's amused he yell's, if he's angry he shouts, if he's tired he screams, if he's bored he blows really loud rasberries and even when he goes to sleep he makes a wierd moaning noise until he's deeply asleep. Its doing my head in!!! I hope he grows out of this one really quickly!! I know that he's just trying to communicate but after a while it hurts my ears. I love feeding time because he can't suck and vocalise.
I'm beginning to feel like a single parent. DH has been so busy for the last week that he literally comes home only to sleep, shower and change his clothes before leaving again. :-({|= He wants to go to some Afghani function tonight. I'll probably go (even though I hate them) just so I get a chance to see him ](*,)
Mel, I hope that Zayed's appointment went well and you got some answers.
Melissa, I'm glad you enjoyed the Niel Diamond concert and Eliana was good for her Nan.
-
Hi dachlostar,
my DD just started to vocalise like yours ... I understand where your coming from at first it was amusing ... now Im sure she keeps the whole neighbour entertained .... DH thought I was strangling her the other day and came rushing in ... only to find DD happily vocalising at the top of her lungs in her cot .... what keeps me up and worried more are the moans she does now in her sleep !!!! :-({|= oh well fingers crossed this DOES pass quickly ....
Oh and im going back to work next week so DD decides to start waking thru the night .... hasn't happened in over a month but just when I feel able to get back to work she decides to wake every 3 hours during the night !!! again :-({|= hope this DOES not continue !!!

Hey everyone. How are we all?
I have noticed my hair isn't falling out but is actually more thicker??? Maybe building up to fall out? Hope not! 8-[
Lily is starting to volcalise a lot more too. Especually when I'm in the middle of a conversation with someone.
Argh! I keept forgetting to get Lily measured and weighed. I roughly estimated that she is 6kgs and about 65cms long. She's gonna be a tall one! She's in the 50th percentile for weight and 97th for height. Not very in proportion with each other!
Stacey, hope DD starts sleeping through the night again for you. It always happens when we have something planned huh?
Mel, how are you? I hope Zayed's condition gets solved quick smart. It's annoying when doctors don't give an exact answer.
Snowy, always great to hear from you. How long are you staying in Aus for? Lily has been laughing like a real person too in the last week or so. It's so cute.
I'm thinking of maybe putting Lily in her own room, in her cot next week. Dunno how that's gonna go. Spose it won't be too bad. The only time she wakes through the night is when she has a growthspurt. Dunno how she's gonna like it either. She's been in it before. Slept for about 20mins. How did everyone else go about putting their bub in a cot? Should I just put her in there full stop, or like for a week just have her in there during the day then introduce it at night?
-
hi everyone,
Tegan, I have the cot in my room ..... don't know if you have space but it is working real well .... she has a snuggle bed put her in that with me first ..... then put the snuggle bed in cot ... in her room for day time ... then put the cot my room ... she really likes her cot now .... good luck .. my next step is to remove the cot from our room ..... I think soon but cuz she was sleeping thru it works well .....
Interesting you mention growth spurts .... think that must be why Anna is waking at moment .. she drank an extra bottle to yesterday .... ;last night she slept thru has even woken yet and its time for her first feed now ... hmmmmmm got to go wake up my angel cuz I need for her to stay in her good routine ...
bye for now
-
Yeah, apparently losing your hair is completely normal. My obgyn warned me at my 6 week check up that it might happen. Sometimes, if you are b/f, it can be postponed until you stop, but with me it seems to have started in the last week or two. Bugger... :( It still is very thick and not noticable, but when I brush my hair, I have such a huge hair ball in my hair brush afterwards, it's not funny!
Tegan, we've been here for 5 weeks now and we will leave this Thursday, so will have been here for almost 6 weeks. I am coming back just after Christmas (flying Christmas day as it was the only flight we could get) and will probably stay for 2-3 months, so the grandparents can spend some time with Wolf. DH will fly up with me and stay until 1 January or so and then come back at the end of Feb or beginning of March or something like that to fly back with me (cause I said no way I'm flying with a 1-yr old on my own).
Okay, girls, here's a question: anyone else still bleeding every now and then? DH and I DTD 2 days ago and I've been having fresh blood again... I don't know if I can use a tampon and what the heck is going on.. I think I might need to see a gyn to figure out what's up with that - unless you guys have the same problem???
Snowy
-
Snowy, don't know what the bleeding could be from. I stopped bleeding 2 weeks after the birth. Maybe ask a GP and they might refere you to a gyno.
-
Hi,
Zayed rolled over twice this morning for the first time. I can't believe he will be 4 months tomorrow, but the poor thing has to have another test in the hospital. I just feel like we are going around in circles at the moment. Anyway hopefully this will be the last one and then I will know whats going on for sure.
Snowy about a month ago I think or maybe a bit more I started bleeding and thought it was my period but it just kept going on and on and on. I ended up having a DNC and my Dr said sometimes it happens and that everything looked normal and she knew for sure it wasn't the placenta as she got it all when I delivered. Maybe call and ask someone. Mine was really heavy bleeding though adn I got to the point I couldn't get out of bed as I was just so weak. I hope its nothing, but it doesn't sound as bad as what i had, so it probably isn't anything to worry about. However for peace of mind you might want to see someone.
Anyway hope everyone else is good and sorry was going to write personals, but Zayed is deciding he needs attention here and I need to go and work out what to cook for lunch because DH will be home soon.
Take care
mel
-
Mel, yay at Zayed for rolling for the first time! What clever boy!! =D>
-
Snowy, I would get that bleeding checked out, you can't be too careful.
Tegan, Yasin usually sleeps in his hammock near my bed but sometimes he sleeps in his cot during the day. I think its a good idea to introduce it in the daytime first. I'll miss Yasin when he sleeps in his cot full-time. I like seeing those tiny little hands waving around in the air.
Mel, yay for Zayed rolling. =D> =D>
Yasin had a little milestone today. He sat without being supported!!! for about five seconds - then he fell over on the cat. :D . I feel sorry for the cat. Yasin has been getting very interested in him lately and as soon as he can chase him he'll be after him. The reason he fell on him today is because he wanted to bite him!!!!
-
Yay for Yasin sitting unaided!!
Is anyones bub crawling yet? At what age on average to babies crawl? Lily is body surfing at the moment, so just wondering when I have to start making sure I don't leave things lying around etc.
-
Tegan, Yasin is trying to crawl. He gets his bum up in the air but forgets about his arms. He moves forward very slowly, with alot of effort, yelling and shouting all the way. He leaves a slobber trail as he goes (kind of like snail).
I think that generally they sit first and then crawl but Yasin forgot to read the book so he thinks he can do things in the wrong order. #-o :D
To the best of my knowledge early crawlers start at around 5 months but it can be normal not to crawl until about a year or even skip crawling entirely.
-
Hi girls,
just crusiing and checking up on you all.
Snowy I would get the bleeding checked out too, I had a raw spot in my uterus after my 3rd which would bleed on and off, blood very bright and fresh and I needed antibiotics to heal.
Keep well everyone
Cheers Michelle

Hi everyone !
Well its my last night as a SAHM ... I'm very sad to have to go back to work ... was thinking about getting a nanny cam ... not to check up on the nanny but to watch Anna all day long .... not sure I would get any work done though .... am so sad .............
I filmed Anna's developing relationship with our cat ozzi ... it was so funny .... Anna grab ahold on him and turn me round to face her ... he is a ginger cat but at that moment became a simese one !!! funnily enough the cat takes anything Anna does to him and he is a very bossy cat !!! punches up the dog lol
I am also not sure about Anna and crawling .... she cant seem to stop waving her arms and legs around so much that nothing seems to happen ! I think she will be running before she crawls ......
Anyway not sure how much time I will have to write in hear but every chance I get I will look in this site is great ...
Stacey

Yeah on Zayed rolling and Yasin sitting. Wolf was 4 months yesterday but still can't roll on his belly. He gets his legs all the way over, but his arms are in the way. He loves to stand though and bear his weight. He's been doing that for 2 months now... I think he might skip crawling, like his dad and go from bum shuffle to walking...
Went to the Italian consulate yesterday in CBD to register his birth and OMG did we get many comments on how cute he is :) Very proud parent here! he he.
Yeah.. you girls are probably right.. I should have that checked out... I was just wondering, if I'm paranoid and it's normal to have that on and off bleeding. It is really light red blood mixed with old, almost black blood (sorry - TMI - I know, but got no one else to share this with). After sex it seems to be worse. It also smells odd - not bad, not like period .. just odd.. (oh, even more TMI - so sorry) Will call my mom to make an appointment with my gyn in my hometown... I get so paranoid with my pap smears having been so bad, but the last two were okay, so it should be nothing.. still stressing a little tiny bit...
We are having a professional family photo taken today. (my present from the ILs - even though it's really more for them cause they said they want a family photo, lol) They do a make-over and all that as well... I hope I'll be able to recognize myself on the photo, he he

Hi everyone, I hope you're all well.
Todays resolution is to get to work on Yasin's dodgy sleeping habits. Before we went on holidays a couple of weeks ago he was really good at putting himself to sleep. I could wrap him, pop a dummy in his mouth and nine times out of ten he'd be asleep in minutes. Disrupting his routine on holidays was the end of all that and he seems to be having a hard time getting to sleep now if I don't lie down with him. I geuss its partly my fault because I'd rather take the quick option and have a bit of a lie down and a cuddle than put the work into helping him learn to put himself to sleep (again).
He seems to have given up on the crawling for now which is a relief because he's a bit quieter when he's not frustrated.
I visited MIL with him for the first time in ages. She is still really annoying. She gave him toys clearly labelled not suitable for babies then gave me dirty looks for putting them out of his reach and then she contradicted everything I said. I think she does it on principle because when FIL asked if Yasin was having solids I said no and she said yes he is!!?? WTF!!?? As per usual she snatched Yasin out of my arms without even asking. Yasin paid her back by screaming at the top of his voice until she gave him back. :D :D I was so proud of him!!!
Snowy, I hope your photos turn out well. I wanted some done but DH doesn't and we can't get a family photo with one third of the family missing.
Stacey, I hope that work is going well and you're not missing Anna too much. I would want nanny cam if I was you but my boss would break it because I wouldn't do any work if it was on.
-
PMSL Dasch at Yasin screaming at your MIL! Can't choose family though unfortunately. How long has it been since you saw her. Maybe she feels threatened by you, you know you have her son, and her grandson and a mind of your own, she probably doesn't like not being able to control you. There's a long way to go though and loads of years to perfect a technique of ignorance unfortunately. I totally sympathise as you know my MIL is very painful too. Is your FIL placid and quiet? I think they end up that way as MIL is so domineering.
Good luck with Yasin's routine, hope he improves quickly.
And be happy that he has decided not to get up and crawl, I am so sad that Jessica is, why couldn't she just stay little for awhile? lOL
Cheers Michelle

Hi everyone, hope all is well. I have been offline for the last 2 weeks as my computer was stuffed again and it cost such an obscene amount to get fixed I think I might as well have bought a new one. Anyway, things are going pretty well here. I am persevering with the daytime sleeps in the cot, some days it works, others he screams like he's being tortured. Still doing the 10hrs at night which I'm pretty happy with. He has learned to squeal and blow raspberries, both of which he thinks are hilarious cos they're guaranteed to get him attention. Latest prob though is feed time - he takes the first 70-80mls okay, then he just can't keep still to drink the rest no matter what position he's in. It's taking ages to get a whole bottle down now. Still, he is a little pudding, over 7kgs and growing out of his clothes faster than I can get him wearing them.
Mel, good to have you back, sorry to hear Zayed hasn't been well.
Dachlostar, IKWYM with taking the quick option, I give in way too easily. And as for MILs and solids, well, mine bought Kaleb an easter egg. Yep, a chocolate easter egg, and when I laughed and said well, maybe this time next year he'll be able to eat it, she was upset?!
Snowy, hope the pics turn out beautifully!
-
Hey, how are you all?
Beth, Lily is very fussy sometimes when she has the bottle. Always has arms and legs flying around.
Have finally got Lily weighed and measured today. She's now 6.45kgs and 64cms long with head of 40.3cms. She's grown 14cms and put on about 2.1kgs since birth. She's taking after her daddy's height that's for sure!
-
Hi everyone, i hope you're all well.
Beth, Sometimes Yasin is a bit hard to feed because he is busy being distracted by everything that moves. I try not to stress about it and don't force the issue, usually eats well the next time he feeds.
Tegan, I just loked at Lily's new photos. Very cute!! I just got a photo of my friends brand new baby and she is soooo tiny. I came over all clucky!!
Michelle, I'm not quite sure what MIL's issue is. She's a bit of a control freak and doesn't really appreciate having her advice ignored. I think she wanted a DIL that she could push around. FIL is cool. He just ignores her alot of the time and spends as much time as he can at the aquatic centre with his friends.
DH and I have given up on the sleep thing. We've just accepted that he will no longer put himself to sleep and needs to be cuddled to sleep. If he still can't put himslef to sleep when he is a year old we'll deal with it then but we're hoping that by then he'll have got back into it by himself. What a hopeless pair of softies we are!!!!
He seems to have a bit of a snotty nose at the moment - yuck!!
Today would have been my Mum's 68th b'day. I'm really missing her at the moment. She would have been so proud of Yasin.
-
Well, I stepped on the scales yesterday with Wolf on my arm and then withouth and so did DH.... well, according to our bathroom scales, Wolf ways 8kg! Holy cow! Well, take off 0.5kg for nappy and PJ but that still makes him 7.5kg. I thought he was quite heavy recently... he definitely is one big boy!
I am still jetlagged. Woke at 3 a.m. and can't go back to sleep. Wolf went to bed at 7 p.m. and woke at 1 and at 4 a.m. so pretty much back to normal for him. I wish I could be back to normal *sigh*.
Beth, lol at the squealing. Wolf does these ear piercing squeals sometimes.. ouchie. He thinks its very funny (especially when doing them into mommy's ear)
Dachlostar, I can imagine you must miss your mom. I don't know what I'd do without mine. I think having children yourself makes you feel really close to your own mom. (definitely has for me)
Well, I will try to catch some more sleep though don't have my hopes up.

Hi all, havn't posted for ages i keep forgetting. My sister has been home the last month and after i spend time with her,i am tired.Just going out for the day puts the homelife in a whack and i have to get the place in order again! Last nite we had a power failure which was a pain as everything is electrical and i have to heat millana's bottles.Lucky it was only out for an hour.Otherwise it would have been an interesting nite.
Millana had her 4 month needles last week and the pnuemoccal (excuse spelling) ont too.3 NEEDLE AND DROPS.poor little thing. She now weighs 5 and half kilos and 61cm long. Not as big as your boofer snowy.Millana continues to wake up twice a nite for a feed.Goes down at 6pm,wakes at 1130pm,again around 3-4am.I keep trying to get her to stay awake later but she just grizzles big time. Any tips girls? I suppose the seacret is to keep them up! Last couple of days have been good as she has been sleeping in the afternoon for 1 good 3 hrs.Last week she was only sleeping for an hour during the day.I also used the jolly jumper first time yesterday. She enjoyed it and hoplefully it will tire her out.Have read some posts and glad to hear bubs are all going well.
-
Hi everyone!
It's been awhile, sorry. Beth, funny what you said about the easter egg, Aidan's Great-Granny bought him one and I said 'oh no I'll have to eat it' (as in bad because chocolate = weight), and she said 'i havent known a baby that didnt like chocolate', I'm pretty sure she was serious, how strange!
Aidan has started to chuckle, it is so amazingly adorable I just want to bottle it up! We discovered tonight he thinks it is hilarious when we pretend he is eating our fingers - I never knew babies were so smart and 'communicative' at just 3 months! Just thinking about it I am getting all emotional.
We went away over Easter which was nice but probably a bad idea as I think Aidan has started teething and he has started waking in the night. I felt soo bad because there was 5 of us in a caravan and annex... oh well. I am glad to be home, but hope Aidan is a little more settled through the night, but if he is teething, not much I can do...
Oh, something else I rememberd, Aidan does EXACTLY the same thing with his bottle (I now do half b/f and half formula). He almost skulls the first 60-100ml, then takes ages for the rest (he drinks 4 times a day with 2 bottles at a whopping 260ml!)
Hope everyone had a wonderful Easter.
Jess
-
Hey Jess, good to hear from you, just checked our your website, what a gorgeous boy Aidan is! Glad to hear you had a good easter. How's it going with the half and half feeding? Reassuring to hear that Aidan does the same with his bottles, I wonder why it is? I think Kaleb is so ready to start solids, on Sunday he was sitting on my lap while I was eating icecream (hey, it was easter!) and every time I the spoon would go from the bowl to my mouth he would bat at it. I'll wait till his 4 month checkup which is in 2 weeks and see what the CHN says. Hey Caddie, woohoo for Millana's good arvo nap - let's hope she continues thanks to jolly jumper! Snowy, hope the jetlag is wearing off!
-
Wolf is cracking me up lately. he loves rolling on his belly and then he tries to crawl, which kinda looks like he is swimming on the floor. then he gets really angry cause he is not going anywhere<! lol
yep, Caddie, Wolf is a whopper. He has almost grown out of the suit you gave him!! (it´s a 00) ... incredible... went shopping today for 0 and 1 size outfits with DH. he went totally nuts and we ended up buying 16 pieces for Wolf!!! But that should last for the rest of this year i hope....
Tegan, I just checked out Lily´s website. She is so cute! Can´t believe you have posted >Easter photos - you re so organised.
sorry for any typos. typinh wqith one hand, wolf on lap, trying to roll...
snowy
-
Snowy, i know what u mean with the trying to crawl thing. Lily does the exact same thing. Kinda looks like she is body surfing lol. You can hear her grunting trying to move but it doesnt happen and she gets so frustrated!
Lily is between a size 000 and 00 which is annoying. She has the length for size 00 just not the weight! So it looks heaps daggy on her.
-
hi girls,
the trying to crawl thing is a crackup isn't it. the floor swimming always gives me a laugh. Yasin has a thing where he gets his bum in the air and pushes really hard but because he doesn't use his arms all he does is shove his face into the floor, he's also master a back stroke/crawl. He lies on his back pushes his feet on the floor and then does a big pelvic thrust to move himself. He's quite mobile now and he gets around by combining the back-stroke and log roll.
I think he might be growing a tooth because he's chewing everything he can get his mouth around and trying to chew everything he can't get his mouth around. Yesterday he was mouthing the floor!!!! (I'm beginning to wonder why I disinfect everything when he's getting busy licking the carpet). I'm not allowed to mention the tooth at home because DH says I've been talking about it for ages and he still can't see one.
We started solids yesterday. We tried them about a month ago because his ECHN suggested it but it didn't feel right so we stopped again. In the last couple of weeks he's been staring at us eating and making little chewy faces and also he seems to be getting more hungry. So last night we mixed up about two teaspoons of rice cereal and some breastmilk. When we offered it to him he gobbled it up. He hardly spat any back out and at the end he looked like he might want more so I think that its the right time to start.
Tegan, Yasin is between sizes too and he looks kind of funny in his baggy clothes. Does anyone else have any problems with the foot sizes on the bodysuits? I think I have a big footed baby because his feet are too big for lots of them. The first thing I look at now is how big the feet are. One of my friends is a podiatrist and she advises clients to cut the toes off if they don't fit because its really bad for little people to have badly fitted footwear (it can alter the way thier feet develop). Its a good idea but I worry that his toes will get cold and also I'm sort of wierd in that I couldn't cope with messy frayed ends and would have to hem them.

lol at all your babies attempts to crawl & move around - gone are my days of putting eliana down somewhere to do something & coming back to find her in the same spot - she too has mastered the back slide & gets a fair way using her legs
hope you all had a great first easter with your babies - we had a good time though DP had a bad fall while holding eliana - how he managed not to smash her into the concrete is still amazes me - he ripped open his leg & hand but nothing happened to her - though she did have a lump on the back of her head & after going to the dr today he said it is a swollen gland
anyway hope you all got lots of chocolate
