Hello everyone!
Michelle strange you were just writing about me and here I am!!
I have had a quick catch up and I must be the only Mummy to have all 8 teeth here. Well the 8th one is hinting at coming through but they are all here. He didnt have much problem either.
With regard to the milk- I was thinking of keeping Ryley on the follow up formula for a while- just so that I know he is getting all he needs.
For breakie he has either toast with something on it or Weetbix or Porridge plus half a cheese stick.
For Lunch he has anything we are having pretty much. He has had things like sandwiches etc. and like them.
He is standing up and crawling and has all his teeth and LOVES his food. He is a cheeky little thing though. We tell him no and he turns around and just smiles so sweetly.
He loves day care and goes there a few times a week while DH and I are at uni. We are both doing well on Distinctions at the moment going into exams.
There are a few new people here that i dont know so...
*waving* Hi to you!!
I will try hard to get on here and chat more often.
Where did my little boy go??? I cant believe he is almost 1!! We are having an adult bouncy castle for his birthday and everyone has to come dressed up as pirates!! He is the only child in our circle of friends etc so adult bouncy castle it is!!
Anyway take care all! I have going to update Ryley's site soon so I'll let you all know.
-
Okay as promised this is Ryley's new website:
http://www.babiesonline.com/babies/r/ryleys/
I think it is cute- cant believe how many pics i had to choose from! LOL
-
sooo cute Pee!! He looks fantastic! Good to see you here too :)
We've had an awful night, not much sleep & a very sick sausage... She started breathing funny yesterday arvo and we went to the hospital and her infection has obviously spread to her chest, so they sent us home telling us to keep up with the antibiotics, which she promptly vomitted out everywhere.... so a long story cut very short...I am not working today and going to be keeping a very close eye on our sausage!
-
Poor little Matilda!!
I forgot to mention (and you reminded me with the chest) that we found out Ryley has asthma! 8-[
Poor little guy can't breathe and coughs all the time... Has anyone else had this or heard of this before?
I hope Matilda gets better
-
Last night they asked me if Matilda had asthma, and I said "you tell me?" so the nurse said that although its not common to have it under 12 months it can happen especially if its in the family. Apparently she could still have it, we are on a watch & wait & see thing for the next few days...
-
OMG - all the poor sick little bubs in here! Big hugs to them all. Actually, I was wondering about the asthma thing - what do they give infants who have asthma? I have it and I'm worried that Charlie might too - he's quite wheezy. He never whinges about it, but I think I'll take him to the doctor next week just to be sure.
Yay for Asha's first step! It's so cute. Glad to see she's doing so well.
Sorry it's so short and that I haven't done many personals today, but I just wanted to pop in and say I AM still here! Have been busy organising DH for his trip (he left today - boo hoo)... I tell you what, if customs decides to go through his suitcase and then don't leave it in the ironed and immaculately folded state it which they found it, they will have ME to deal with! Charlie is off his food today - don't know why - and is very grizzly so I'd better go and tend to him.
I will probably be spending a bit of time in here while DH is away, so chat to you soon!
-
A quick reply because I have to go and get the kids form school in a minute but Emma had Asthma when she was a baby. They labelled her a fat happy wheezer and she was on a nebuliser for a long time, every 4 hours. It is hard to do because they cry so much but it is also good that they cry because it gets the medication right down into their lungs. She still has ventolin but is now taking it through a spacer. She only gets it when she has a cold and of a night time when it is especially cold.

hi everyone
crashing into the forum a few days early.
i just wanted to let you know about my experiences with asthma, my ds was a very unsettled baby and then developed a shocking cough at around 9mths of age so i took him to the gp (not my normal one) this guy asked me a few questions re asthma and exema and i said jay had exema as a bubs only very light and my mum was an asthmatic, he turned around and said well he has asthma and i needed to get him ventolin, spacer and preventor etc so i was sorry worried and went straight to the chemist to fill prescription ($100 later) i went home and we gave him his first lot of ventolin made absolutely no difference, i spoke to my mum and we were under the impression if it was asthma then the ventolin should have given immediate relieft - btw i asked this gp if he would test to what he was allergic to, he said no need it is in the family he has asthma. so after talking to a few other mums i decided to get a referral to a paedeatric (arrh sp?) allergy doctor, after speaking to him and him explaining wheezing etc we both determined that this gp was talking through is arse jay did not have asthma at all, so specialist did a heap of allergy tests and it was found that he had allergies to dairy, egg, nut, cat, dog, grass, dust and feathers. switched him to soy milk and bang different kid, cough gone, tummy settled and a really happy baby. he is no longer allergic to dairy or egg (but still drinks soy milk - his choice) and has other normal dairy products such as yogurt, ice cream, cheese etc. in spring he gets a bit of hayfever but never asthma. he still has a nut allergy but as he has never had an episode where he has had nuts we don't know what will happen if he does so specialist will give him peanut butter in a controlled enviroment later in the year.
anyway sorry i made this long - i know unfortunately some babies do geniunly have asthma (as in kelly's little girl emma) but some cowboy doctors can diagnose it all too quickly - if i hadn't gone into it further my poor son would have had so many problems with allergies and we would have thought it was just asthma and given him asthma medication without it being necessary. i think you really need to find a good gp and one that will listen to your concerns and not just one that says your child has this or that and wave a script at you and wave you out the door.
okay off my soapbox now lol and back to were i belong, see you in a few days.
-
Michelle- that's great info, so glad you followed youe instincts too, or you are right jay qwould have taken loads of medication for nothing.
Jordan had a night cough when she was little and the drs gave bricanyl, which helps open the airways and can give the shakes just like asthma, but my niece is 2 and was diagnosed with asthma about 4 mths ago and has to use the spacer and/or nebuliser.
Pee are we psychically linked or something, great work with uni for you both. My gosh Ryley is growing so quickly, and the pics are gorgeous.
What are you guys studying? My gosh at the almost 8 teeth, Jess has only 2 so far. How much does he weigh now? And how tall is he, he was always a tall one. Sounds like some people will be enjoying Ryley's 1st bday LOL
Christy hope that Matilda is feeling better today. it is scary when they are unwell.
Kellee I had to lol at the ironed shirts thing. I hope your dh has a good trip and you will be fine, we're here to help after all. Jemma is watching Arron like a hawk since he got home from QLD, everytime she leaves she tells him to stay cos she doesn't want him to go on the aeroplane again.
We are abvout to eat pizza, when FIL delivers itr for us. We were going to have Coles pizza and they had none left so now we have to buy it from the pizza shop in the next town. It is raining here and a little chilly too, but it is nice to hear the rain on the roof, I love that sound and I've missed it as it hasn't rained much lately.
i am out shopping tomorrow, Arron gave me $100 so now I don't feel bad about buying something as I don't have to use the shopping/bills money.
It is a Long weekend here so I am thinking that maybe Arron and I can try to get out together on saturday or Sunday night, need mil to babysit so have to pick a night she isn't out.
Anyway have a good one, hello to anyone I missed
Cheer Michelle

I have just updated the photos on Asha's website. Haven't had a chance to do the journal or anything, or the photos of Em & Ash and Jack & Ash.
Better fly it's time to take Emma to Karate.
Cheers

Ryley was first given ventolin in the liquid form but now (after speaking to Asthma WA- glad i asked) he is on a puffer with a spacer. I tell you what they dont kid about having the shakes and getting grumpy and hypo!! Poor little boy. Luckily (or unluckily $$ wise) it has become less of a problem since his cold has gone away. His poor little ear drum burst about a month ago or so and he has been slowly getting back to normal since.
Yay ASHA!! =D> Walking already- what a gorgeous girl she is too!!
Welcome Mooshie!!
I have a great doctor but i might go and see about those allergies if Ryley isnt better in a month but I am sure he will be. Also these freezing nights in Perth arent doing him any favours!!
Off to play Netball now- Thurs adn Fri nights i play mixed with friends and DH. Lots of fun. I still need to work off my Ryley weight!
Have a good weekend all
-
Ouch! Pee at poor Ryley's ear drum bursting, it sounds so painful. So glad he is getting better.
I forgot to tell you girls that Jessica loves to sing, it is so cute. For the last 2 weeks she has been singing ROw row the boat, and she rocks as she sings, you can even make out some word sounds, like "ro" and "St" for stream and "dow" for down. Very clever! She is also doing lots og hugging and patting and saying OHHH! as she does.
Well I went shopping yesterday and brought a pair of jeans for $17 which was a bargain and just a few bits and pieces. It is really hard cos when I go shopping with my gf she won't even let me look at kids stuff and it killed me to walk past Toys r us and this whole area of kids stuff (I was a chadstone). I will have to go there another day by myself or with DH and the kids I guess.
Hope you are all enjoying your w/end

Hey gals,
Well, here I was saying that I would have more time to spend on BellyBelly while DH is away, and this is first chance I've had in two days! Crazy stuff. Had an all day rehearsal/gig with the Australian Girl's Choir, and I decided to stay at MIL's because she looked after Charlie for the day and I didn't want to wake him up. Spent a lovely morning there, a lovely afternoon with my brother and his fiance, then came home and put Charlie to bed, and here I am! I really should be doing housework.... nah...
It's weird having DH away. Usually it's ME that goes away, so at least I'm not sitting at home pining for him (like I am now!). No, it's not that bad - I'm just making sure I stay busy so that the time will go fast and he'll be back with me in a jiffy. Pathetic, I know... I have to tell you about the saga this trip has been. We arrived a Brisbane International on Friday morning in plenty of time for the flight, thinking that DH would be able to check in and then spend an hour or two with me having coffee. No, no, no... the flight was cancelled and he had to spend 1 1/2 hours in a line trying to organise another flight. In the end we only got to spend about 10 minutes together - at least I didn't have time to get all teary! His friends thought I was mad when I yelled "I LOVE YOU!" 3 or 4 times as he was going into customs. Anyway, I hadn't heard from him until this afternoon (was getting worried, too!). He called to tell me that, even though his conference is in Greenville, North Carolina, he was in Chicago and his luggage was in SOUTH Carolina! Turns out his stupid travel agent booked them for SOUTH instead of North Carolina. I think everything is sorted now, and everyone and everything will be where they ought to be in the morning, but he will be rushing to get to his conference on time. It's madness! Maybe this trip wasn't meant to be.... I hope everything goes ok from here on in - I'm worried that he might be jinxed! Just had to tell you about that schmozzle.
Poor Ryley and his eardrum! I can't imagine how awful that must have been for the poor thing. I hope the asthma medication works. I have asthma too and I also get shaky after having ventolin - after a while of taking it the shakes get a bit better. Hope you won your netball, Pee - it's great that you and DH have something fun like that to do together.
Hi Mooshie! Thanks for the tip about the asthma. I know what you mean about doctors - I had suffered from a medical problem for about two years and had gone to 3 different kinds of specialists and 3 GPs in that time. They all said different things and immediately dealt out the drugs, which only made matters worse. It wasn't until I took my health into my own hands and did some research and visited a naturopath that things started to improve. I will certainly be careful with any doctor's advice I receive - even from very trusted sources. After all, WE know our bubs best, and a 15 minute consultation can't provide doctors with all the little bits of info we know about the bubs. I'm glad you trusted your intuition.
Did you get a night out with DH, Mitch? I hope so. Yay at the $17 jeans! I went shopping today and the sales are on - and I saw about 3 items of clothing that I bought last week at the full price that are now on sale! Not happy, Jan. I know what you mean about the kid's shopping - I have to force myself not to go into Pumpkin Patch (we just can't afford it!) everytime I walk past. I'm glad you had a good time. LOL at Jessica singing. Soooo cute!
Am off to check out your site now, Kelly. Wish I had the motivation to do something like that - it's a wonderful thing to do. A great way for interstate relatives to keep updated, too.
Anyway, must do that housework I was talking about earlier. Haven't even made dinner yet! I am such a slacko today. Sorry this post is so massive. Hope you're all well, and sorry if I missed anyone.
BTW - my little boy is 10 months old today! I don't want him to grow up any more... but if he has to at least he's doing in it the cutest way he knows how. :-)
Big hugs,
- Kellee.
-
Just realised I don't have the address for your website, Kelly! Stupid me... would you mind giving it to me?
-
Kellee if you click on the www link below my posts you will get there :)
Super quick because I want to go to bed! It is bloody cold here today! Emma had her first Karate grading and she passed! So she now has her life membership and her yellow belt. I am so proud of her.
Asha now has 3 teeth, both bottom and the top one. Her bottom ones are just poking the corners out though and they are sharp!!!! She has been biting our fingers etc today and it hurts. The other top tooth is almost through now too.
Okay enough of freezing my butt off LOL I am off to bed!
Enjoy your public holiday tomorrow!
Cheers
-
Kellee what a pain about DH's flights and luggage, don't these things come in 3's, maybe he only has one left. Sounds like you are doing ok though, I don't think you pine if you're busy!
Yay! for Emma's Karate, that's terrific! And also for Asha's teeth. How's the party organising, when it is again, mustn't be long now!
Well we didn't get out for dinner, Arron cooked a roast and mum and dad came on Sat night and he cooked a BBQ last night and again mum and Dad and my brother came. So no going out, although MIL and FIl were out last night anyway so we wouldn't have been able to.
I picked up my goodies from the Horny Devils party (adult stuff) I went to and finally got to use the super whizz bang heat pack, you press the little metal thing inside it and it goes hard and heats up, then when it goes cold you boil it in a pot unbtil the stuff goes soft and start again. It is shaped so that it will go around your neck but it is able to do any body area. It is so great, can't wait now until my back is sore again LOL.
i also got my new vacuum cleaner and I vacced each room and emptied afterwards, I was super impressed with the dirt it got out of the carpet. My other one was so crappy, we got the Kambrook Jaguar bagless and it is really good. So I now feel better thinking that all that dust and hair is off the floor and away from Jessica.
I spent most of today playing educational games with Josh, Arron is quitting smoking today and he took Jordan with him to do a couple of carpet jobs so he couldn't buy a pack (she doesn't know he smoked). So far he is doing ok, just watching the footy, hopefully this time he sticks at it. I am about a week of not having had a smoke for 4 mths, YAY for me, I am so glad I gave up.
Anyway, I am goig to take a quick look around and then start dinner.
See ya Michelle
-
=D> YAY Michelle you have done such a great job!! I remember the first day without a smoke & now almost 4 months thats fantastic!
We've had a really sick house (STILL!) but amazingly I haven't gotten the main part of the illness, so I'm really hoping that I don't get it, because it just drags on. DH & I went to a movie last night while our friends stayed here & watched Matilda (she had just gone to sleep when we left for a nap) and we wound up having to leave after an hour because the cold air made DH cough & cough & he was sitting outside after an hour so we just left, how annoying! #-o Poor DH he was trying so hard to stifle the cough & just couldn't...
Matilda just has massive green slugs still coming out her nose... I'm covered in green slime! LOL.... but the worst is the coughing, she can't sleep too well so it takes an hour to get her to sleep & subdue the coughing enough to get her there, and then she wakes herself up everytime she gets into that lighter phase of sleeping ](*,)
ok...enough whinging about the sick...
I hope you all had a lovely weekend :D only 3 more days in this thread  :( ... ahhhh well better plan this party!
-
=D> =D> =D> woo hoo Michelle!!!! congratulations on 4 months not smoking!!!!
-
Oh yuck Christy about Matilda's slugs that is LOL. And what a bugger on missing the movie, hope Dh feels better soon, it is very hard to stifle a cough, I've tried over the past 2 weeks and it just doesn't happen, fingers crosseed it doesn't hit you.
So what are you doing for your Princess' bday? As much as I don't want to know LOL I am interested.
I actually thought I'd start teaching Jessica to blow as she may be able to blow the candle if I start now LOL. And much to my own annoyance at myself, I have given her the walking trolley, and she can push it one way and then we turn her around to go the other way. As much as i want her to stay a bubby I gave the others the trolley at this age so it is a bit mean to not let her have it. She looked so cute pushiung it along. *sigh*
Hope everyone else is well, Kelly you only have 4 days don't you? Oh dear.
Thanks Christy and Dasch for the encouragement it is much appreciated. I have had so many opportunities to smoke but I haven't and I feel so good about that.
Have a good night everyone
Cheers Michelle
-
4 more days and my baby won't be a baby anymore!!!! I went and organised all the plates, bowls, cups and cutlery today and the balloonns and helium tank ;) So I pick the helium up on Friday for her party so we can blow up the balloons to decorate, should be fun! WE are going wtih pink and purple, we have Eyeore on the cake and pink writing and pink balloons and pink and purple streamers. I am getting a bit excited. Slightly peeved that some people can't be bothered RSVPing in time so I have a rough idea on numbers but nothing definate.
Asha has more teeth ... she has the corners of both bottom ones through and her top one and then instead of the other top centre she has the one next to her top tooth! Strange child!
Anyway just called in to say Hi ... I have so much to do that I need to keep moving. Sorry for the lack of personals but I will get back to do it later in the week ... I hope!
Cheers
-
Hi everyone!!
Poor little Matilda :( I hope her slugs get better in time for her first birthday. You know Christy when i first joined BB you were just about to have Matilda and i remember coming on every day to check if you had her yet... Amazing how time flies.
Kelly I know what you mean regarding Perth being cold!!! Holy Moly the last few days have been terrible. We went into Target and got a new sleeping bag for Ryley coz he is 77cm now and doesnt fit his 0's anymore. He barely fits the 1's!!! I hope Asha's teeth are easing up and she enjoys her Eeyore cake!! We are hopefully going to have a Tigger cake with a one shape with it- Big party happening here!!
How cute about Jessica and her singing!! I cant wait to make out words from Ryley. He has just started saying no- it really sounds like ner but we know what he means. How is she going with the walking trolley? I dont want to give Ryley those coz I want him to stay a bubby!! Just like you and Jessica. A HUGE congrats on not smoking Michelle. Thats awesome you should be very proud.
It must be so hard having DH away!! Poor guy with his luggage... You gotta love travel agents. Mind you normally they are good. I would be screaming i love you too so dont stress!! :)
Well Ryley is getting better. He is sleeping like a log now (touch wood) that he is in his sleeping bag. He slept from 8.30 until wait for it.... SEVEN this morning!!! (I remember pre-Ryley 7 was an early morning!!) so we were stoked that he slept that long.
His coughing has subsided which is awesome. DH and I had our first exam today on Research Methods in Psychology- It is as tough and boring as it sounds... LOL. I think I did okay but DH did awesome so I am really proud of him. Unfortunately I have now got a runny nose coz I am stressed!!
I've had lots of people telling me how to parent recently and it is really peeving me off!! Both sets of parents are telling me that i should have more of a routine for Ryley and that I dont keep him warm enough and i dont do this and that and it gets me so mad. Anyway i feel better now, I know I am a good Mum and that is all that matters.
Okay off to bed now then, sorry for the long post :)
-
Oh Michelle I just realised I forgot to answer your questions AGAIN!!
We are studying psychology and Addicition Studies. Double Major. We have 2.5 years left at a university level. Then 3 years of honours and masters and then 2 years supervised practice... so we have a long way to go!!
Also Ryley is 77cm long (yep still tall) and weighs only 11.5 kilos. He has stayed roughly then same since 5 months he has just shot up.
Sorry it took me so long to remember!!
-
SOB!
Well it's good bye from us (for a while). My baby is now one and I can't believe it. SOB!
We had his party on Sunday, and after a shaky start (DP got pulled over on a last minute supply run, so we were all late!), it was a fantastic day. Sun was out, food was brilliant - thanks to the girls in the receipe thread!-, everyone had such a great time watching the kids go mental in the room I completely filled with balloons. Mitchell did not dissapoint, it was the first time there was so many of us together and he was in his element!! Entertaining us all with his charm and cheeky, cheeky grin. I thought he would lose it after missing a sleep, but he danced away with fairy bread in each fist like he was born to.
See you around!!
Lulu
-
Bye Lucy and Mitchell. Happy belated bday to Mitchell as well, and so glad the party went so well. That's terrific.
Pee- wow on those degrees, a long way to go but looks like you are both doing so well, and it's hard to study with a little one, I had Jordan 2 yrs into my 4 yr teaching course, but I still passed and did well. Don't listen to the doubters, Ryley is happy and healthy and developing nicely so you have nothing to worry about. jessica is doing really well with the walking trolley, but she is a mile off walking as far as I can see, so I'm sure she won't be walking this monthLOL Maybe in the next one or 2. Boo Hoo! I know I could take the trolley away but I feel like I am being mean by doing that when I gave the trolley to the others!
Kelly- the bday party sounds terrific, good luck with the organising and hope you have a super day. 3 days and counting!
Christy - is this 2 days? Wah! How are the slugs and DH, feeling better I hope.
Jessica and jemma have gottone into Jordans' room and boy is she gonna be ****ty when she gets home, her and Josh are going to clean his room and then she'll have to do her own.....I can see lots of sooking and yelling coming up.LOL
Oh well, hope you are all having a super day
Michelle
-
It is 2 days! ARGH!!! Panic stations are on full alert...LOL... so what did I do today? I went to the shops and bought nothing for the party ](*,) ah well.... Matilda is still slightly sluggy, still not well enough to go to gym or playgroups *sob, sob* and is having major naptime issues in the arvos... hours upon hours of screaming and rolling around with her eyes closed and I just don't know what to do.... I'm trying to get her birthday stuff together but I'm not sure its going to happen... and its raining #-o I hope it clears up in a few days!
-
Oh Christy poor Matilda with the sleeping. What were/are you doing for the party? Were you planningto be outside? Hope it all works out. I am thinking of doing stuff soon, like buying plates etc, just so that I am not doing the last min thing and having to take 4 kids with me IYKWIM? Much less stressful.
Cheers Michelle
-
We were going to have the party at South Bank a BBQ outside near a playground... because there are a few toddlers who will need some entertaining ah well...must make a plan B... :)
-
:flower: Hi everyone - i offer flowers to you all if you let me join lol. Well miss lani is 9mths old today - wow 9 mths goes quick when their babies but not when you're up the duff lol, i have been reading a few posts and trying to keep up but it looks a bit tough - i will see what i can do.
Lulu - hi and bye we never got to know each other, happy birthday to mitchell, i guess we will catch up in the next forum seeing it goes for a longer time.
Christy hi and soon to be bye, like pee i remember vividly you due with matilda it doesn't seem that long ago. hope she is feeling a bit better and those sleeps get sorted out soon. it is a bugger when they are sick and they go all out of wack - you have to re program them lol.
kelly hi and soon to be bye too for you and asha, i also remember you having asha gosh it was a busy time last year wasn't it. the party sounds absolutely fantastic, and asha's teeth wow they are coming like crazy - she certainly is making up for it lol
kellee hi again, how are you and charlie coping without dh - how long is he away.
michelle hello again how is the family, sounds like jessica will be walking soon and good on you for still being off the evil smokes. i was in the middle of setting a quit date for myself and was about to buy the patches when miss lani got sick so i stressed out - i know it was only a virus and i shouldn't have stressed, but it was her first cold and i worry when they are sick especially after what happened to our jessie. so i am in the middle of making a new quit date - will keep you posted. btw how did aaron enjoy is trip up to qld - bet he miss you and the kids - i bet he couldn't wait home .
pee great to see you back on again, hope you stick around longer and chat good to hear ryley is doing well, don't listen to anyone re your parenting because you are ryley's parent's and you know him better than anyone else and i reckon you just do whatever works for yourselves and ryley.
okay now for a quicky update on the lovely lani. she has had a terrible virus since last tuesday, sore throat, cutting teeth and constipation (which goes along with her normal teething) she is better now and happy to crawl around and not be so clingy but for a few days there all she did was sleep, she would be up for max 1/2hr then want to go back to sleep again and she didn't eat and hardly drank any of her bottles. she was a bit of a rat bag the other night when she was getting better and woke at 1am i was up and down like a yo yo and nothing i did was worknig she would cry/scream then i would go in and she would kick her legs and laugh and put her arms up for a cuddle which i did as soon as i left her room she started again so i just said at 3am stuff it she can cry for a bit it last around 1/2 hr then she went back to sleep. she is now back to normal sleeping between 9am and 11am then 2pm to 4pm then going to bed at 7.30pm and waking around 7.30am so i am feeling human again lol. she is going great with her eating and she has 2 bottom teeth and 1 top tooth with the other top tooth just about poked through, i reckon another couple of days and another 2 bottom teeth threatening to come out so probably another week. she is still slugging around and will get on all fours sometimes but she finds she goes alot quicker on her tummy, she goes all around the house and i find her in some unusual spots lol. she has pulled up once but got a bit of a fright and hasn't done it since (am in no hurry there lol) can clap hands and wave bye bye but doesn't "talk yet" she has said mum mum a couple of times but the rest is babble we can't really work out.
anyway enough of this mega post - sorry for boring anyone, i will chat with you all again soon.
bye bye
-
Christy- I so hope he rain holds off for you guys and Matilda's party goes well. How many have you got? Plan B sounds like a good idea though.
Michelle- you're here! Gosh it's not fair, when are you getting Lani weighed and measured. It will be interesting to see how close in weight Lani and Jessica are. Jessica weighed 8.19kgs last time and was 68cms. OMG she will never catch up to Ryley, he is so tall! Bugger about Lani playing the other night. Both Lani and Jessica seem to have the same sort of sleep times. Arron had a good time in Qld, basically he fished all the time, and I never thought I'd hear him say he was sick of it but he said he had sort of had enough! One of the guys he was staying with was pretty big into drugs and all of them are pretty far out drinkers. they took a 4wd out and were being totally dumb, and Arron went off his head cos they were driving so crazily. Then the guy jumped off the back of the car into some shrubs and knocked himself out. Arron said he was just totally off his head. He also had a big argument with his brotheer cos he was on the roof of the car. I guess I can't imagine being that dumb, but I guess they are young, single and stupid! he did miss us, and would have been hapy to come home on the Sunday but....maybe he will listen to me next time he says how long he wants to go for cos he had wanted to go for 6 days and instead I talked him down to 5. MIL and FIL are heading up this weekend but will be staying with her brother and then going onto Mackay not Airlie, cos that's where Arron's brother actually lives.
Hello to Kellee- I hope you are not too lonely while DH is away. How much longer till he comes back?
ALso hello to Pee and Kelly
Cheers Michelle
-
hi
i am doing nothing tonight as dh is at a work function (arhh those were the days lol)
michelle - my brother lives in qld and he is always doing stupid things taking his 4wd out to fraser and doing crazy stuff, i am amazed he his still with us the stuff he's done - at least he has settled down now seeing he is a dad and all.
my stupid crazy health nurse said lani doesn't go for another check up till she's one, we have a nice mchn at chemist not far from us on a tuesday so i might zip up and get a weigh and measure when lani is 10mths - then i will have a 2mth gap, the last 2 visits she only put on around 500gms in 2mths.
it does sound like ryley is going to be tall doesn't it pee - my ds who is 5 is quite tall - advantages everywhere lol, today he even went into the next level in the big end at swimming cause he can touch the bottom lol. i must measure him and see how tall he is now - dh is 6ft 3inc so i guess it runs in the family.
still waiting on my sil to have her 1st bub omg i can't believe she is overdue it seems like only yesterday she told us they were pg (she was due on the 10th)
oh and dh got the a okay for an upgrade of his company car - he is getting a ford territory \:D/ with the 7 seater option and we will hopefully buy it in 3yrs when he upgrades again, we have to put a little extra in for it a week but it will be great as i am allowed to drive it as well, and he even said we need the extra seats if we are going to have another one - ohhh maybe i could have more than 1 more lol.
well i am going to read around some more
have a good night all

Yay at the car Michelle, how cool is that! And lmao at the extra kiddies, you may end up with as many as me! Your MCHN is a real dope isn't she. I just go once a month to the open session and get Jess weighed for my own info, I just like to know. I think I can move Jemma to the booster seat, I weighed her and she's 14kg, now I just have to take a look at the seat again, not sure whether it is different to the one in the shops, cos they say 14kgs.
ANyway getting off to eat chips and sit with Arron
Cheers Michelle

Welcome Von, of course it is okay for you to join. I am only here for another 3 days and then I am off to the next forum as my baby girl will be 1 on Saturday ... it has gone so fast.
I can still remember when Christy and I were waiting for the big day, well Christy was doing more waiting than me!! It was a race to see if I could beat Christy to it LOL. Now our girls are nearly 1 ... oh I think I might have a little cry! I don't want it to all be over ... maybe we will have another one *sigh* I keep changing my mind.
Asha is such a crack up the other night int he bath I started singing Twinkle Twinkle to her and she started singing in baby babble in the same tune and clapped when we finished. She also rolls her hands when we sing roly poly. I really want a video camera, we have one but it doesn't work. I think we might buy one for our anniversary this year (not until August)!
Emma has her school assembly this friday so I am going to wactch her at that and then I will be running around like a blue a**ed fly for the rest of the day. I have shopping to do for Asha's party, helium tanks to pick up and then get the airport to pick up my Mum at 2ish. Then pick up the kids, take Emma to Karate and then cook and clean like a woman possesed for the party. I can't wait until Monday! I have a day off work to take Mum out for lunch and to clean up.
Okay better go have things to do before I hop into bed.
Cheers

Hello lovely ladies just wanted to say hi. Not a long one from me just wanted to say a big hi to Von (seems we are in all the same forums!!) and Mooshie!!
And bye bye to all ourfirst birthdayers. We'll miss you :)
Oprah was on tonight with the Super Nanny and I thought yep I gotta start with the no cuddles to get Ryley to sleep. Well he bawled hiseyes out for ages and i stayed strong... but then... he burped- i thought what a bad Mum he was crying coz he had wind. Then he vomitted all over hs cot with the spaghetti he had for dinner. Obviously he wasnt feeling good. I am feeling like a terrible Mum now!!
-
awww Pee don't feel too bad, we went to sleep school with Matilda for a week & the first night it was around an hour of crying & settling and then she vomitted EVERYWHERE.... I felt so bad. But the next night it was less & less and she gradually got there.
-
Oh Pee- Christy's right, don't feel bad cos you didn't know and it won't always happen.
Welcome to Von and Natasha. Whereabouts in Vic are you? I am in Kilmore, prob never heard of it, not many have LOL.
Kelly- hope you get everything done on time and you get to enjoy the party too. having your mum there should be a help though. What is Emma doing at assembly?
Pee- it's nice to see you still here, I think last time you popped in it was a couple of days and then you disappeared again. LOL Hope you can come more regularly.
Christy- did you come up with a plan B?
I was going to go to Target, but can't be bothered driving 35 mins so I am going to Dimmeys cos it's only 15 mins instead, I have some stuff to take back and Jessica needs some size O sleep suits.
Cheers Michelle

Morning All
first things first HAPPY BIRTHDAY MATILDA :blowcandle: and HAPPY BIRTHDAY ASHA (FOR TOMMORROW) :blowcandle: - wow one year old, you girls have grown so quickly - will see you in the next 3 mths in the big kiddies forum :smt022 oh were have our babies gone. Hope you both have really good parties and matilda is over her illness enough to enjoy her special day.
Pee good to see you chatting more - there won't be many left soon as alot seem to be turning 1, i think in the 6-9mth forum at one stage there was only myself, michelle and kellee chatting, more the merrier. Please don't feel bad about letting ryley cry then him vomitting everywhere, you were not to know - some kiddies can actually work themselves up so much they throw up, my girlfriend had one child that used to vomit when he couldn't get his own way or everytime he went down for a sleep and didn't want to - very frustrating. If you feel you want to change the way ryley gets to sleep maybe look at going to sleep school, but you do have to be prepared as it does involve controlled crying in various ways so you have to be really committed to it. i remember with jessie i used to either feed her or rock her to sleep (nothing better lol) but after 8mths of this and sometimes rocking her for 2hrs in the middle of the night things got on top of me, so i went to sleep school and yes it was hard but the nurses were wonderful and really taught ME alot, within 2 days jessie was having 2 2hr sleeps during the day and 12hrs at night and would go down without a fuss, by the time she was 1 she used to put her hands together up to her head to tell me it was time for bed at night (very cute) - it didn't take long, i really just needed to be more intune with her cries etc. babies can really pull at your heart strings tho.
von welcome to you and natasha, look forward to chatting to you and getting to know more about you and your little girl - i see you are also in the pre-conception forum so will probably chat to.
michelle how aer we today, did you get to target and get what you wanted? not long before school holidays arrhh the june holidays are always hard cause usually cold and wet and the kids get bored after a while don't they.
sorry if i have missed anyone A BIG HI THERE
not much happening here, lani pulled up onto her knees last night - 2nd time she's done it, but just a fluke really is a long way off being upright lol, she buckles at the knees still when i pull her to standing with her hands - she can stand for maybe 5secs then thats it, she loves it and stares at her feet trying to work out what is happening. she is also playing peek a boo with everything she gets her hands on to cute. the other day we had a little band happening, jay was playing guitar, i was singing into a microphone (OMG that was not good lol) and lani was playing her crocodile keys, we were singing heaps of nursery rhymes and had a ball - it is nice to sit down like that and play with the kids rather than run around doing housework etc. i should really make an effort to do more.
we might not be getting the ford territory now - we have discussed it and whilst we can afford the extra $50 pw now - if things happen with interest rates etc and with jay starting school next year we think that $50 would be better off in the bank - so dh is talking to his bosses today a bit more - it gets all confusing with salary sacrificing etc - he is also due for a pay rise which he may or may not get (they review pays at end of june) but he needs to make a decision about the car before pay reviews. we might either get a standard falcon or an xr6 i really don't care as it will be a new car and all upkeep and petrol is paid by the company - we will buy whatever he gets when he gets another new one which will be in 3yrs.
anyway i can't stop these epic posts lol i better go, its just my fingers type whatever pops into my head and i can type quicker than i can write so bit of a problem there sorry.
have a good day everyone
-
Hi girls! Well....this is it, she's now one \:D/ I know a lot of mum's dread their babies growing up, but I'm having a celebration day. Celebrating getting through the year alive! LOL and celebrating no more reflux so I went & got a hair cut today. Matilda's getting so much better, so she went to day care today so I can do party organising :D
-
Christy I have already welcomed you to 12mths forum, but I will wish Matilda a happy bday again, can never have too many happy bday wishes LOL. Good idea about the haircut, isn't it amazing you just never imagine 1 yr after you have your baby that they will be a little person.
Michelle- bummer about not getting the territory but it is smart to look ahead and plan, don't want to get yourself into a hard position financially esp when ttc anotherlol Maybe you can get it next time.
Will pop back later and talk more, gott go and make mum a cuppa as she just got here and I have to go say hello to my niece.
See ya Michelle

Hi all
Thank you for the welcome it is so hard when you are just barging into a forum where everyone already knows each other, anyway I am sure I will get to know you all soon enough. But Natasha is 1 next month so I guess that means I will be leaving also. :smt022
Pee- I promise I am not following you O:) In regards to sleep. Don't feel bad that you left DS to cry. I went to sleep scholl with dd when she was 3 months because she was up for 12-15 hours straigt  . From the time we arrived at the school until the time I checked myself out she cried and cried they could not get her to sleep. So I guess you could say we failed. In the end I just rocked her to sleep and am still happy to do that now, although she is begining to fall asleep at night by herself. I think you just have to do what you feel comfortable doing, stuff the Supernany and all the books that say how we should raise our children (ok got mooshies problem just typing away lol))
mitch4now- I am from Croydon, and I have heard of KIlmore I have even been there a few times.
Must go and think about this 1st birthday party I have invited 30 people DH is having a fit about how many people are coming and now i have to figure out what the hell we are going to do for food.
