bon - sounds like you are pretty organised for grace's party & no doubt you are looking forward to being a bridesmaid - has your sil had her baby?

tegan - lily's cake sounds great -will your family come up for it? hope lily hasn't had any more falls - they are so determined to do things!

colleen - yay at jaykob pulling himself up - i looked at your photos & he is such a cutie - not good about him biting - eliana did this a bit & i just kept pulling her off & she soon realised that it wasn't good to bite - hope the house moving is going well - i dread all the boxes

mimo - that's great that hannah is crawling around - no doubt she is getting into everything - just wait till she will be able to dance beside you

snowy - glad everything is going well - i too have a computer interested baby - eliana can now pull my laptop out from under the lounge - lucky she hasn't worked out how to turn it on - hope all is well with your pregnancy

dash - hope yasin is being good to you & letting you rest & that your little one is happily growing

i haven't had a chance to post as it's been a busy week - went up the coast to see my family etc - eliana loved their dogs & went crazy everytime one came near her - she is looking like she is going to get more mobile (i keep saying that every week & she still only moves about 2metres) i won't be able to post for awhile - we are going to sydney on saturday then to armidale for dp's graduation then to coffs harbour for relaxing holiday & will be back on the 11th

hope everyone has a great weekend

Hi everyone, I hope you're all well and your bubs too.
Snowy, its good to see you in here. I've been reading the febuary belly buddies so I'm staying up to date with your news.
mel, I hope you enjoy your holiday. it sounds like you're going to be covering alot of ground. Congratulations to your DH on graduating!
Mimo, good to hear hannah is well and healthy and keeping you busy. Yasin likes to dance too. Sometimes I tango with him (I have to lead because he's not too co-ordinated) and he cracks up when I give him a big dip.
Colleen, it sounds like your redecorating is coming on really well. I hope you sort out the teeth/boobs issues soon. I sometimes worry that I'm going to lose a nipple. Yasin is down to about two breast feeds each day and I think that by his first birthday he will have almost given them up.
Tegan, its so scary when they fall and bump themselves isn't it. WTG on pulling to standing - it won't be long now until she's walking.
Bon, it sounds like you've got a busy month ahead of you and little Grace will be turing one!! I'm impressed by how well organised you are for her birthday party. I still haven't thought about Yasin's. I only want something really small because I'm not into big parties and I don't want to set a precedent that I don't want to keep following IYKWIM. DH and I were thinking that we might just take him to the aqarium with a couple of our friends and thier daughter. Next year when he turns 2 he can have 2 friends to his party. The IL's seem to want to interfere (as usual!!) and I'm not sure whether to let them have thier way now so that when he gets older I can tell them that they've had some birthdays thier way and now they can butt out or if it would just set another precedent that I don't want to keep following. I'm inclined to think that keeping them at a distance right from the start might be a better option. I'm just a bit worried that while I'm on holidays they will send out invites etc and I will get home a week before his birthday and get told that they have a party planned.
I should be out and about getting everything organised for this holiday but the weather is so yucky I'd rather stay indoors.

    Hello girls!

Oh, we had a shocking night last night. Wolf woke twice, once at midnight and once at 3 a.m. and wouldn't go back to sleep until 5 a.m. .... I am sooooooooo tired now... I wonder what's up because the night before was crap too... maybe teething? or maybe still that bug we all have??

Pregnancy is going well, had a bit of a scare because I threw up and saw spots on Monday but blood pressure and urine levels are okay - so no pre-eclampsia, as I feared for a moment. (I thought second time around I'd be more relaxed, but no... not really)

We have our next scan in 2 weeks. I am not sure if I will ask the obgyn for the gender or not. DH wants to know but he won't be there as I'm flying back to Germany for the scan. So it's all in my hands.... hmmmm...

Dachlostar, how is your pregnancy going??

Oh - wow birthday party plans... well, we have decided to fly back to Berlin to be with Wolf's baby buddies for the weekend of his birthday. But not made any plans other than that. I don't think we will have an actual party as such. Just a nice dinner with our friends.

Speaking of shocking nights, I was up for most of it with Aidan coughing. He is asleep right now (10am) and still coughing every 2mins or so. I feel so sorry for him and have tried everything, saline drops and the snot 'extractor', dimetapp, water, baby panadol, elevating his cot... and it wont go away. So I am going to a different doctor today and putting my foot down. He has had this cough for AGES and it has suddenly got a lot worse (I think he has a cold so thats probably why), but still, surely he is not meant to have a cough for this long, especially now it is getting warmer.

Does anyone have any suggestions on what it could be or relief? I have a feeling the doctor will be as un-informative as usual.

    Thanks,

    Jess

p.s. Beth, are you out there?!

Ive got a question for everyone - when your bubs were about 9 months old how many sleeps a day were they having? Hannah still has one about 1.5hrs after she first gets up and Im wondering if its time to try phasing it out coz its always a short one of about 30 mins. What do you think?

Lily still has a nap about 2hrs after getting up. I always though they napped til about 3 years old?

    Mimo,

I have this great sheet from the MCHN which says:

    9 months
Total number of hours sleep approx 14
Total number of hours at night approx 11
Total number of hours during the day 3
    Number of daytime naps 2

    And just to compare:

    12 months
    13 total hours
    11 at night
    2 during the day
    2 daytime naps

This is obviously a guide only as every baby is different but it sounds to me like Hannah is fitting in well to the above.

I stress about Aidan's sleeping habits too sometimes, now that he is in child care 1 day a week. When he is there he only has 1 long nap for 3 hours as he just wants to play play play. Whereas at home he has 1 nap in the morning and 1 in the afternoon, each for an hour or more.

    Hope that helps.

Just to answer your question Tegan, this sheet also says they nap until around 3 years of age. I'm suprised as it also says they have 2 daytime naps until around 2 years, I dont think I know many toddlers that have 2 naps, but it would be nice to get stuff done around the house!

Mimo, my kids have always been about the same. They still have 2 sleeps a day until somewhere between 1 and 2. At the moment Jessica is 13 mths. She has a sleep about 11ish for about 2 hrs and then maybe another 30mins to an hr later at about 4pm. At 18 mths I remember Jemma would have a sleep at about 1 till 3 and that was her only nap. Jemma is now 2 and a hlaf and doesn't really have a sleep in the day now, unless she is super tired and then it can be 1 hr, but it isn't a regular occurence.

I really miss the time you get free when they have a nap. I like to stretch them having sleeps out as long as possible. Also I really think they need that sleep, and when they atart not doing it then I know they don't IYKWIM. I hope you can work it out for Hannah, I think she will let you know when she doesn't want to sleep cos she just won't do it.

    Cheers michelle

2 naps? I've only ever heard of a toddler have 1 nap and even then sometimes they dont want to! I just let Lily play on her blankie on the floor and she will just take a nap when she wants. Like today she was very playful so didnt nap til in the car when we went to pick up DF from work at 3:00.

Thanks for the feedback on naps. I tried having a morning nap at 10:30 and she has just gone down for her afternoon one and it has worked really well. My problem has been in the timing coz if I put her down too early in the arvo she is either overtired by bed time or needs another little sleep late in the fternoon which she is never too keen on. Hopefully we can make this part of our routine if it works.

Hannah is just so much fun at the moment. I so prefer this age to when they are tiny, she has just learnt to clap and it is the cutest thing.
