BW silly me, should have posted what cured the nappy rash! My SIL had Greer whilst I went to the dentist last Friday and used Nappy-Mate Paste on her. I noticed small patches had cleared so I got some myself - it's made by a WA company called ETHICARE has a blue label with white writing on it. Noticed marked improvement overnight and totally cleared within three days. Well worth the $5.95.

Nettie I truly do hope that I will be glad when they are done. Just not looking forward to the month of temporary teeth. I must admit I spend too much online usually Ebay when I'm bored.

Jodie looks like I might be going back to work early too. There will be some work needing to be done in November and because of time constraints I'll probably have to help get it achieved. I'm happy about it on the one hand and not on the other. ALthough with DS I was back at work by now.

Bored, bored, bored!!!!! I know I should be in bed but cannot be bothered getting off my butt. lol

Had to wake Noah up at 8.30pm for his last feed of the day. Pretty unusal having to do that. He normally hasa cat nap around 6pm-ish, a last feed / every 2nd night a quick bath and bed for the night. Must be going through a sleep stage again. YAY!!!!

FAST running outta clothes for him, so I really need to go shopping but I don't want to. I was hoping to get through to warmer days and then I had heaps of clothes from DS#1 for him to wear. Bugga!!!!

Took DS#1 to the GP last night and whilst there, Dr, T wrote out a script for some cream for Noahs dermatitis...he has cradle cap which seems to be getting worse and i just presumed the dry skin in his ears and on some parts of his face was all part of it or was exzema. Didn't think to take him to the GP. Oops! Three applications and his face and ears have cleared up completly but she wants me to use it for a good 2-4 weeks.

Nettie - re: baby brain...I thought the GP told me I was a bad mother last night for letting DS#1 develop a bad case of tonsilitis when in actual fact she told me I had good mothers intuition...luckily I did not have a go at her.I got the *****s andDP asked me what was wrong.....then he explained what she really said. Stoooopid me!!!!

Grubi - I love doing housework but of late its really pi$$ed me off. DP has worked 12 days straight so far and stll has two to go. I think its all catching up with me, not getting a break and all andthe housework is 'just one more thing'.

BW - I have heard of that Goat Soap....it really works then????? Might get me some as I get THE itchiest legs to the point I scratch at night and in the morning have claw marks and bruising.

Evening to everyone else. really must get to bed......zzzzzz nite nite

    Morning all,

Up most of the early part of last night, Wyatt just wouldn't settle, and I was all set to be a supportive mummy and give cuddles, seem he had his needles. But come the 4 time I had to get up and it wasn't even 12pm I was getting crabby. I had been up since 5:30am. Anyway I got some pandol into him, held him for half an hour and he was settle and asleep. You could hear he has alot of TMI Flem on his chest. Poor little bugger cant cough it up like we can. Anyway was smooth sailing until DH alarm went off at 5am. SO i have been up since then.

Nettie: What part arnt you looking forward to when you go back to work? It's a sad world when people who choice to do the right thing via our governement get pentlize and have to go back to work ASAP after having a baby to help the household. Good luck with it, and Liam. Will he be going to Day care or family member?

alittlegrubi: You same as Nettie got to go back. I sort of can't wait to get back to work when the boys are at school, it will be big change from house work.... What you going to do with Greer?
    * Oh I might try and get some of that nappy cream when I go to mainland. Just in case we get an uncontrolable rash...

Vixstar: You not the only one who is boaed. I have a heap to do before I leave Monday yet I just can't get it done. I clean up Phone table yesterday through most stuff in bin. Our it's the place where you just dumk stuff when you come home or when you taking stuff of kids.
    * Wyatt is same running out of clothes, I really didn't want to have to buy him much, but my boys are born in different seasons. So up until now have had plenty all in one body suits to wack Wyatt in but now I would like something nicer on him. He normally just has his sung as a bug rug over his body suit when we go out.

Sharon: I would have to assume you live in Sydney? What is the weather like? Raining, Sunny-warm, Sunny-windy, overcast-cold? I have to pack clothes for everyone. What I am trying to say our temp is top of 13-15 daily which requires a t-shirt and jumper on. But having grown up on Central Coast NSW I know it is much warmer than tassie. Give me rough idea, I am bring wheather coats for us all just it case it is raining the whole time I am up there. Knowing my luck it will. That is what I am sorta planning on ATM.

Well am going to may a start on the packing today. DH mentioned to me to buy a portable DVD player for kids, and Kmart has cheapy so am gong to to get that as long as it has a cig plug for car.

Our what are we get DH's for FATHER'S DAY? I need some new ideas. I was going to do what he did and buy him something he already got. Then I thought I could buy him cook book, or a wipper snipper for me to do lawns with... Any ideas???

All have a nice day, it's frezzing at moment here. Big frost over night. Will check back later to see if anyone has anything to chat/rant/ramble about...

sarah Yes, I live about an hours drive west of Sydney, public transport to all of the Sydney attractions would be better, that way you don't have to worry about parking. The weather here today is drizzly, and cold, the mornings and early afternoons get quite cold but we have had some nice days, would be best to pack for cooler weather, they say there could be more showers tomorrow and are saying we could get storms later today, daytime temps are usually around 16-19 degrees, today is 14 and I am COLD. I only just noticed that you live in Tassie, my parents are moving to Tassie in a few weeks, they went down last month and bought a house, and move in on the 12th, they are moving to Westbury, is that anywhere near you? I will probably be coming down just after xmas for a visit, and will more that likely have to visit them a couple of times each year.
alittlegrubi glad to hear the nappy rash cleared up. Oprah wasn't that good, ended up surfing around facebook. Going back to work isn't necessarily a bad thing, at least you get to 'hang out' with adults, and have adult conversations. If I had to go back to work now I really wouldn't mind, as long as it was P/T
BabyWrangler I hope the saved EBM you saved clears up BJ's cold. Your poor DH sounds like he is getting worse, not better. I am quite mean with Ollie's bottles, when he wants a burp, I sit him up and he pretty much brings up his wind right away, I then offer him the rest of the bottle and if he refuses it, it's gone, I just don't want him to throw the rest of the routine out of whack, the only one I do offer to him 20 mins later is his bedtime bottle
Nettie I hate being bored, I spend way too much money. Have to say, I don't mind watching a little bit of the Olympics but I'm not a big fan, can take it or leave it really, the only thing I really love watching is the Gymnastics, it was something I always wanted to do as a child but mum and dad wouldn't let me. Good luck with going back to work.
Vixstar you might be hard pressed to find winter clothes now as all the summer stuff is out now.

Well my DH got offered another job yesterday, which he will more than likely take as they are paying 10K/annum extra, but after tax that will only really work out to be around $300/month, so probably just enough to cover the extra money needed for mortgage repayments.

Got nothing on today, took Jordy to school, came home and put my PJ bottoms back on (I love my PJ's )

Sharon: Yeah Westbury is abuut an hours drive south from me. My sister lives there. It's half way between to big citys/towns.
    * Will pack for cool weather.
    * Not really sure to ATM as to where I can park car and get public transport. Do you know of any good website I can have a look at to see.

Well just a quick catch up, DS1 isn't alseep and I just put Wyatt down, and I can here them in the baby montor, he is talk to Wyatt. Will have to go and grow him. God I am tired, was hoping I could get nap in today. But doubt it.

Woohoo Just quickly....BJ has just rolled from his tummy to his back 3 times in less than 3 minutes!
And he rolled in both directions, right to left, then left to right, then right to left again!!!!

Darn... do you know if you press Esc it deletes your post???? Grrrr - start again:

Had a rough night with Liam last night with him having a cold and not being able to settle laying down, so we both sat up with him (for moral support and also because we were worried for him so both felt more comfortable being with Liam) until 4am. I did manage to doze a few times in the chair, but nothing substantial. Then he settled down enough to put him in his cot so we went to bed. He woke up at 6 am and I got up to him until 11am when DH took over & I went back to bed until 3pm.

BW - for BJ! It must be the day for it as Liam rolled from back to tummy twice this morning (so I had to go & wake DH to tell him!) and then again this afternoon (when DH had to come and wake me to tell me!). Always on his right side, but he's tried the left too, so I know he'll do it that way if there's something that side that he wants!

Sarah - we reckon Liam's psychic and knows when we've just settled down for a nap... either when we've just gotten in bed or just gotten warm & cosy! Sometimes it's just not worth the effort, is it?

Sharon - I love the Gymnastics too. Can't wait for the Rhythmic Gymnastics to start tonight! Love the ribbon & ball....

Vix - glad your DP was there to set you straight about the GP!

Must go... got to do a similar post on the other thread & catch up on my cloth nappies thread before bed tonight. Might like to get in early in case it's another rough one. Although he's been down since 6.30 pm tonight without much murmuring... He's such a good boy. I know he's woken up once or twice (by the sounds of his breathing) but he just gets himself back to sleep. I am a very blessed mother!

Nettie: I can understand where you are at, now. Wyatt had bad cold a few weeks ago and couldn't breath when he was picked up. But he could when I laid him down. DH need to sleep upright when he sick me, I got to be flat as a tack.

BW: WOW, BJ is doing good, by the sounds of it. Wyatt has only rolled 4 times. But granted I don;t give him as much time as I should on his tummy. He can half rolll when he got no pants on. But cant gets his big juicy bum over.

Anyway got million things to do today/before I leave monday morning @7am.

    Get house work done
    mow Front and Back lawns
    Take daughter to B'Day party
Get some ballons for B'day party. (I always get kids sum, make them feel extra specail)
Drive and 2 hrs to take some photo for soccer club. (sister kids are in it has asked)
Do a little shopping for DH
Get some wood for DH incase he decied to have lazy day while I am away and wants fire on.
    Pack bags yet.
Oh, got the kids portable DVD am trying out today in car to soccer for DS1.
    Pay DH accounts
    Bill people
    Get dog food and beds

Wells its 8:30 so I better go and get started.

    Hi everyone

Just wanted to give you an update about Charlotte's Tongue-Tie:

We went yesterday to a GP who only does circumcision and tongue-ties to have her 'assessed' on her tongue tie. He was really lovely. He said that she had a moderate tongue-tie where about 50% of her tongue was attached. (So not just me being paranoid!! yay)

He took her away for about 15 seconds, I could hear her cry for about 10 seconds and then he brought her back (she stopped crying when she saw me - so was obviously in no pain at all - just distressed by having her tongue pulled) - and I fed her. All done - so easy!!

While I fed her, we talked about how paediatricians think that having a tongue-tie snipped is an unnecessary procedure and so don't even mention a tongue-tie in their examinations. He said that their view is that it is not detrimental to a child to be able to poke out their tongue, lick an ice-cream or tongue kiss - well now what fun is that???

Anyway, had she been any older, she would have had to go to a specialist to have it done, so I am so glad we got in just before she started solids, or talking. Hopefully now it will become a distant memory and we won't have any future speech problems.

What I have found amazing is the number of people who have never heard of tongue tie and with paediatricians not mentioning it and other health professionals just not looking for it, I thought I would post this here so that people are more aware of it. Spread the word. Tongue tie is very common and there are no side affects of having it dealt with early. (Apparently in the 'olden days' the midwife would tear the tongue-tie with her finger nail immediately after the baby was born - now I am not saying try that!!!) but just be aware of it.

    Tongue-tie: Information for Families

Immediate benefits - she is definitely attaching a lot better but unfortunately it has not helped her become less 'spewy' (darn). Have to just ride that one out I guess.

    TTFN.

    Just a quick post...

Tarnee so glad that Charlotte's tongue was untied, shame it hasn't helped the spewy, but might as she relearns how to feed with the freedom of moving her tongue about. Interesting comments about paeds not caring about tongue-tie. The one at my hospital said it wasn't necessary to have it looked at, yet 2 midwives & a lactation consultant thought I should. Interestingly the nurse doing Greer's immunisations, noticed the scaring when giving her the oral immunisation and the doctor said it must have been quite tight, yet the paed said it was minor. Sounds like Charlottes was similar to Greer's.

Another thing that you all need to be aware of and pass on is that tongue-tie can have detrimental effects on their teeth as they can not move the saliva around their mouths sufficiently to remove plague etc and they are likely to need extra dental care. That was enough motivation for me to have Greer's cut.

    Some additional important sharing:
I've just found a marvellous site which talks about breastfeeding and how your diet doesn't effect your milk like we are all lead to believe kellymom.com :: Can a nursing mother eat this food?

Sharon/Sarah I don't mind going back to work that little bit earlier, less boredom = less spending . Greer will be going into the same daycare as Logan. Unfortunately my parents work fulltime and ILs have a seasonal business which means for 5 months of the year they work 15hours a day 7 days a week so neither sets of grandparents can look after them. I'm not comfortable leaving them with my sister as she has a disabled foster child with her and SIL although she is a childcare worker, she has an 18month old and a 10 year old, it would be too much to ask her to have both of mine more than one day a week. So daycare it is. I'm okay with that as I think they get a lot out of interacting with other kids. Besides if I didn't work, the mortgage wouldn't get paid with all these increases . Sharon I will be graduating my return starting parttime and working back up to full time over 3 months. I still can't believe I returned fulltime after 4 months with DS. Makes me take my hate off to shellbell. Speaking of which haven't heard from her for a while. Hope all is okay.

Well being that I have childless night I'm going to head off now and make the most of it.
Hello to everyone I missed in my long quick post.

    Morning all,

Tarnee: Yay you go her fixed and as you say hopefully it will become a distance memory now.
    * I only wish there was a Dr. in Tassie which would do circumcision, but now it is agaist the law and will only be done under medial recommendation. WONDERFUL. I would have like to get both DS's done.

WEll am off 2 morro morning, I wont be here for a week and a half, so I might just text grubi, if ok with her to let you know how everything going.

Cheers wish me luck especailly that I dont get lost in Sydney.

Sarah text you to say its okay to text me Good luck and I hope you find your way around alright, especially with the kids in toe. I don't know that I'll be able to help if you get lost but I can post a help wanted to Sharon .
I'm suprised that circumsion is illegal in Tassie.

Nettie I hope Liam is okay. It's good that you and DH can share the load.

I feel refreshed to day having had a reasonable night's sleep only waking at 3.41am and 8.46am to empty breasts it was nice to have no kids to wake me, but I miss them terribly. Nanna still hasn't brought them back yet . Although I'll be cursing when they are back I'm sure

Well the EBM seems to have done the trick....other than a lingering cough (which DH has too) Bj is back to normal.
No more rolls yet, and I just tried to put him to sleep unwrapped (in the hope that he'd learn to find his own dummy) turns out, he hates not being wrapped! he was exhausted when I put him in so went straight to sleep, but when he woke at the end of the first sleep cycle, he lost the plot....20 minutes of hysterics later (with me actually in there trying to calm him!) he's quiet again and will hopefully drop off again....put that down as a failed experiment!!

    hopefully back later

Nettie Oliver seems to be psychic too, whenever I go and lie down, he always wakes up, but when I don't even though I want to he will sleep for a few hours, cheeky little bugger.
sarah just our of curiosity, why do you want both DS's circumcised? You can tell me to mind my own business if you like LOL
BabyWrangler after Oliver rolling 6 times the other week, and then not doing it again, he finally rolled again today, so hopefully he will start remembering how to do it, it is really strange that he has gone from a baby that hated being on his tummy, to actually enjoying some tummy time, put him on his tummy on the grass out the front today and he had a curious look on his face. We have tried to put Oliver to bed unwrapped and it has been unsuccessful, Jordan was wrapped right up till he was 12 months.

Hello to everyone else, and sorry to anyone I have missed.

Haven't been on much over the last few days as Jordan is sick, he has a temperature, and a bit of a cough, as soon as the Nurofen starts to wear off, his fever comes back. I can also feel myself starting to get a tickle in my throat, so I might start taking some cough medecine now, before it gets any worse.

    HI all,
Just quickly, I think it was Sarah who asked for fathers day ideas...I have a gorgeous father's day poem that can be put with baby's footprints that would make a great father's day gift (we used to do it for father's day in the Nursery at child care).

This year, being my DH's first fathers day, I've taken a selection of photos since BJ was born of "firsts" that daddy has been involved in...DH's first hold of bj, Bj's first bottle (Dh gave him some expressed milk in hospital), BJ's first time through the front door (dh carrying him) etc etc...I'm going to get them printed today (along with a selection of other moments they have shared and make it a "On your first father's day, here are some special firsts we have shared together Daddy" style thing (along with the footprints poem)...

    Here it is:
    "For My Daddy"

    "Walk a little slower Daddy,"
said a little child so small,
    "I'm following in your footsteps
and I don't want to fall.

Sometimes your steps are very fast,
    Sometimes they're hard to see;
So walk a little slower, Daddy,
    For you are leading me.

Someday when I'm all grown up,
    You're what I want to be;
Then I will have a little child
    Who'll want to follow me.

And I would want to lead just right,
And know that I was true,
So walk a little slower, Daddy,
    For I must follow you."

Sharon: How are you feeling?? How's Jordan?
Nettie: BJ is psychic....since he was born, I've not once had an uniterupted bath...even though I time when I get in and so on, he still, without fail, will wake up, either with a poo, or a lost dummy etc!!! I've mastered running across the tiles with wet feet without killing myself!
Grubi: Gotta love a good nights sleep!!
Sarah: Good luck with your trip!!

Wow BJ woke this morning and drank 180ml in one go...he's never done that before!!! Hasn't sicked up much at all either which is awesome...I think when he stops and starts he gets lots of extra wind which results in the spews....

BW - that's beautiful. If you don't mind, I think I'll use that one!

Liam's rolling all the time now - I put him on his back and without fail he's rolling over... even on the change table or cot!! But then when he gets on his belly, he gets frustrated very quickly so I don't know if he's just getting tired more easily or what...

He's also slept the entire night twice now. Once on Sunday night (but we had him out late on Sat night which was bad....woke up heaps that night) and again last night. Put him in bed at 8pm, and he woke up at 7am... was very good timing as I went in to work this morning for a meeting so we were trialling the morning routine for when I return to work on 15th Sept. Went ok!

Anyway - only got about 15 mins on here and must catch up on my other threads so will do more personals tomorrow or Fri...

By all means Nettie, use it to your hearts content!!!
I have a lovely one for mother's day too (which obviously WE don't need, but could be used for the nanna's!)

    Sometimes you get discouraged
    Because I am so small,
    And always leave my fingerprints
    On furniture and walls.

    But everyday I am growing,
    -I'll be grown up someday,
    And all these tiny handprints
    Will simply fade away.

    So here's a final handprint
    Just so you can recall,
    Exactly how my fingers looked
    When I was very small.
    I love you!

BabyWrangler that sounds like a lovely idea for a father's day present, I have used that poem before too, it is so lovely. Jordan is slowly back on the mend (thanks for asking) but I feel like crap.
Nettie Oliver rolled from his front to back again the other day, but he has been sick since then so haven't tried him again to see if he remembers, when he lies on his back he is turning his head so far back (to look at what's behind him) that he looks like he is about to roll over so maybe it won't be too long.

I haven't been on much this week as I got really sick, had, cold sweats, pounding headache, aching body, cough and I came very close to passing out yesterday so DH had to stay home to look after Oliver as there was no way I would have been able to look after him 'safely' and to make matters worse I had to have an ingrown toenail cut out yesterday as well, couldn't put it off as I had been given anti-b's for it the day before. I am now losing my voice (which I secretly think DH is quite happy about LOL)
