Morning all,
Again I know I have been MIA for almost a week. Will do personal first then my big long excusie, why I have been missing.
Grubi: How did Greer go during the night with her needles? Hope she wasn't too bad for you.
Sharon: That is such a shock to the system regarding Chrrisy DH. I was in tears reading it. I read a story like that in New Idea amout 3 months ago, but it was a woman, and she had the "simply Flu".
* I can't really say as am not in her situation and who hate to be with some many kids asking about daddy. But I know I personally get delayed shock. So am fine why people are around its when they all go home is when it would set in for me.
* Thought and HUGS for Chrissy. I hope she has a great family to help her out for awhile.
Sad part is I have had flu forever it feels like, and I went to Dr and he said he can't give me anything that wont dry my milk up. So I just got to tuff it out he said.
Ok the long dreded story of why I've been MIA.
So last Thursday I lost my credit card. Went back too all shops couldn't find it, so rung bank and cancelled it.
Friday I get a msg to call my mother, she process to tell me she went back to see her Dr, and he tells her, that her liver is failing and needs to get her affairs in order as she only has 2 weeks to live. I have not see or spoke to her in 6 years, (my choice) and only just started talking to her since March 08. my Dad got on phone as asked me to come so I am going, with 3 children for 8 days...
Get phone calls from my 2 sister one saying I need to come last Sat 16th other sister say wait on booking tickets until she(mother) has her look see surgery on Monday 18th. Looked at airfair and just booked while they were cheap. Older sister is now only flying up day before her major surgery then fly home day after... Other sister is such a sad-sob drama queen. I don;t know how I am going to cope.
I called my mother back and told her I would come, provided someone meet me at airport so I can follow them back in rental car or incase new Credit card doesnt arrive in time I can go to parents house with them.
Saturday: We went and did a bit of shopping which I haven't done in weeks. Was ment to be saving for new kitchen, but am still waiting for written quote to come back to me. So DH calls up at 12noon, and say pack car we are off to the snow.
So we drive an hr and half to get there and last half an hr then drive back. Cos DH rushed me, I forgot to tell kids to greab hats and snow gloves. However I got my lovely landscape photo I wanted for over our bed.. Finanly will post in gallery later
Sunday: More drama regarding my mother with my siblings, I took phone of hook and turned mobile off. We went to farm to wash car, kids rode their motorbike around. Then up to visit a GF who live half hr away. Had to take some photo of her son on his motorbike going over the jump and doing wheelie around paddock. Did all washing and hung out, just had to bring in and put away YAY...
Monday: DH forgot to sign cheque so I can pay accounts for business. So I had to drive to him an hr away so I could get them paid. My car went in to get fixed yesterday, it's been a long time waiting. DH doesn't have the time to fix it, so he said get someone else to do it. So DH's mate brought around his spare car. OMG... but it only incase my car isn't back by thrusday afternoon. Menchiance keeps calling me to tell me someone else is wrong with car. So I just told him to fix it. DH car broke down so he is using his road bike at moment. It needs to be fixed. It's all good though, as it can all be claimed back on tax for the business.
*Oh sparkie came back and put phone line so I don;t have to run long phone cord through house to comptuer. So am going to OPEN new printer which has fax on it and TRY and install it... 2morro maybe
Tuesday: Am just trying to clean house up today, I was think I would take computer in to be clean up and make sure no virus are on it. But it take like 2-3 days. I don't know how I could cope. Different if they could do it over weekend when I dont get on it as much.
*Also I need to write a list of what I need to take up NSW. At this stage his is a mile long.
**I would like to take the kids to the zoo, the under water world, and maybe lunier park. But can anyone help I can't remember how to get their. Last time I went I was probley 10-12. My rental car does have SATNAV, but isn't not always trusty. Any direction would be great. Oh and anything else I should take kids to see while we there, as it;s going to be at least 5 years before I go back.
*** Also siting and PRAYING my new credit card gets here in time, or I am stuffed with rental car. I really dont want to rely on family member to drive me and kids everywhere.
So that is why I have been MIA, and going to be MIA for a while next week. I can't wait to go to zoo and show kids animals. I used to live in NSW on the centrel coast, but I haven't been back in 8 years. So every thing has changed.
Oh, Wyatt goes for his 4m needs on Thursday, DS#1 is being such a PIA ATM. I feel so mean have been yelling at him alot. Need to breath more I know.
Anyway I better go, Wyatt needs to be put back to bed for morning nap. Will talk/ramble on latter...

Sharon - OMG!!!!I know Chrissy from my Sept 06 thread that I have come and gone from for the past 2 yrs. I just brust into tears when i read the sad news.I am still in shock I think. I posted a message to her and asked the girls to pass on my thoughts and prayers should they speak with her.
Thank you Sharon for telling us...it makes you rehitnk just how damn precious life really is and it should never tbe taken for granted.
How is Chrissy doing????
xxxx
Sorry no peronsals today...Bailey is tired and Noah just woke up. Why an't my kids sleep at the same time and be awake at the same time!!! lol
-
Sarah What a week! Valid reasons to be MIA if you ask me. Hope everything turns out alright, credit card, trip, car, your Mum and anything else I left out . Regards getting the computer cleaned, why not send it to be done whilst you are in NSW, won't miss it then :p. We are looking at buying new furniture and rearranging room where computer is, might move it closer to the phone point, might help the connection stability. So might buying a new computer - need one.
Greer appears to be having less of a reaction this time round. Wasn't interested in feeding last night but fine this morning after her second yukkie poo. On the nappy rash we started with Nappy-mate yesterday afternoon and it is getting better now
Vixstar I know what you mean about the two not sleeping at the same time - think in 4 months it's happened twice other than at night only because DH or I have forced Logan to have a sleep andsleep with them. On weekends DH naps whilst Logan does and on rare occassions I'll get one in with Greer, but I'm usually to busy doing stuff to have a nap.
Sharon I have to  after posting yesterday about my birthday, DH sends an email asking what he can buy me and do you think I could come up with anything to even suggest . No wonder I don't get spoilt he has no idea and nor do I as to what I'd like to be spoilt with. He doesn't want to buy just anything as we have enough cluttering the house. So it looks like it will be shoes as that was all I could think of that I needed. that's at myself that I roll my eyes.
-
Grubi: How about a moive night with DH. Get someone to watch children and go out... When was/is your birthday?
-
Hello!
Sarah: That's terrible news about your Mum... hope you enjoy spending time with her in her last days & that somehow you can put the past behind you. So sad... life is a b*tch sometimes.
Sharon: Ryder has reflux as well & has done since about 6wks old. Although he has been exclusivley breast fed, I bought some formula for emergency situations etc & I bought "Novalac" for reflux babies. I've been trying to get Ryder to drink it for weeks but he has been refusing the bottle (I mentioned this in past posts). But guess what.... this week I have managed to get him to drink the Novalac formula from the Tommee Tippee (close to nature) bottle & have had NO reflux episodes after he drinks it!!! I feed it to him with the newborn teet on the bottle (cause he is just learning with the bottle) & have no dramas with the formula being too thick etc. It is a little more expensive... but hey, if it works & gives no tummy pains... it's worth it!
I also started Ryder on Farex yesterday. I made up a tablespoon worth, sat him in his rocker & put a spoonful to his mouth. He just kind of swished it round in his mouth & spat it out - didn't really get the hang of eating from a spoon. But then I offered him Heinz Banana & Pear puree..... you should have seen the faces he pulled! It was hillarious! I persisted in trying to get him to eat it for 5 minutes or so, then he finally opened his mouth & swallowed a teaspoon full. He was kicking his legs & got so excited!!! :-)
Today I decided to mix the Banana & Pear puree into the Farex & just gave it too him before. Today was a totally different story & he ate the lot!!!! He was opening his little mouth for more the minute he swallowed a spoonfull. My god.. I've never seen a baby's face light up & little legs kick so much in my life! Hahahaha.... What have I started here?!
Does anyone know if there is a specific order of foods to introduce 1st? Like, do I give him Farex for a couple of weeks before I make up vegies? And what vegies do I introduce first? Is it pumpkin? Is anyone else giving their bubs solids yet? I don't know if what I'm doing is the right thing to do or what. At ante-natal classes the midwife told us not to introduce solids until 6 months. She said although the Heinz jars of food say 4-6 months, she said don't start until they are 6 months cause babies tummy's are not mature enough to digest the food. Then I have my Mum & MIL in my ear saying they gave us food at 4 months..... and I guess, we turned out alright. And now that I have started & he LOVES it........ what to do......??????????

Just popping in for a quick post
DH and BJ have been diagnosed with the Flu...not the "flu" you get when you call in sick to go play golf, but the full on, aches and pains and headaches and stuff style flu....not nice!!
Sarah what a full on week!! you poor thing!
Sharon, thankyou for posting about Chrissy...the poor darling...it really knocked the wind out of my sails to read that!
Jodie: Typically when you start a child on solids you keep them on the same food for a couple of days to make sure theres no negative reaction for it.
I have always done the following (each for a few days before the next):
Farex
Pumpkin
Sweet potato
Regular Potato
Zuchini Pulp
Broccoli
Carrot
Then I start on fruits.
Mind you, BJ has been on just farex/raffertey's rice cereal for nearly a month...he has eczema and the MCHN (though not the one I normally see) wants me to wait til 5 months before we introduce anything else....but we may do it sooner, but not til we get past this illness.
If Ryder is wanting to eat, I'd feed him...thats why we started BJ on it.
Grubi, I second Sarah's suggestion, a night out at the movies, and having dinner would be a great pressie....even an hour having a massage or something really decadent? Just a suggestion
Better go....thank god I had the foresight to put a stew in the slow cooker for tea!

Evening all,
Today was so much slower, thank god. Am sick to death hearing about my mother. I think half of it is in her head. Now I know why I stopped talking to her. DRAMA QUEEN... I'm only really going for my dad. I do care about my mum but not as much now, my life is less stressed and dramtic in it. I know that must sound heartless but life was much easier without having contact with her.
Jodie: I have not started Wyatt on anything yet. I will wait until I come back from NSW. Ge he is still in hes bassinnette over night. My fault I don't want to get up and walk all way into the boys room to feed him. But yeah when BW said on the list of what you should try sound about right. Everyone starts at different times, if anything my little huffalump needs to go on diet, and he just on boobie milk.
I know with DS1 he wouldn't eat any of it witout gravy all over it.
DH and I have had another fight, regarding him trying to find a new excavator. I am sort of glad am going away, maybe he can work his stuff out on his own. Or at least realise how much he needs me.
Anyway am off for night.

Hi Jodie, I started Jack on plain farex at around 7weeks....& have only just in the last few weeks introduced other vege's & fruit. I have read that you should only give them, zucchini, pumpkin, potato, swede, carrot, banana & apple (all pureed & skinned & de-seeded) until 6months then move onto other vege's & fruit...but apparently banana is prone to making them constipated that's why they say give apple but I have't experience any constipation with Jack & he seems to be doing just fine. At times I mix the vege's & fruit in with the farex. That info is coming from the book ' Save our Sleep' she has a load of info of what foods to start & when...but I'm sure there's thousands of books out there with different suggestions as to when to do things etc...anyhow hope that helps you a little.

This afternoon I talked to DH and we have agreed to no only go out to dinner and see a movie for my birthday, but we are going GOLD CLASS at the movies, if I can get tickets.
Sarah birthday is Friday, but Mum is taking the kids Saturday late afternoon returning them around 11am Sunday, bless her, so we can go out and have some alone time.
Sorry - GTG - Kids!
-
Jodie82 I think when this tin of Karicare runs out I will get the Novalac. Also, how do you mix the fruit puree with the farex, have never had to do that before because both my other boys loved the farex. Do you make the farex up with water/milk 1st then ad fruit puree? (you'd think i would know this after having gone through it twice before) anyway not time for any other personals, it's 11pm and Oliver hasn't had his sneaky feed yet and I have to go to bed!

Morning all,
Not much to report, Wyatt woke up twice last night for boobie. He escaped from his wrap, his arms were waving like a bird trying to take flight, and hit himself in head.
My car come home TODAY (power sterring) YAY... So I can give friends car/TANK back.
Our hairdress (Tammy) is coming this morning to cut DS1 hair before we got to NSW. Wyatt gets his needle 2 morro. Am going to see if Granny will have DS1 while I take Wyatt to DR's.
DH and I claimed down last night, thoughT about what we were going to do regarding buy more excavators, and wrote a few emails to business asking what the cost of the extra stuff is. So hopefully one will come back with a figure I like.
Well better go and get shower B4 Tammy gets here. She hates to see how I treat my hair. But I just don't have the amount of time she wants me to have to maintain it.
Oh, rung back yesterday and they said they had my new card and were sending it via overnight, so I can stop worry about that :pray:2morro when it gets here... TG . Then I just have to pack .
Everyone have a LOVELY day...
-
sarah it's great when you finally get your own car back, and yay on your card getting here before you leave for sydney. You asked before about things to do in Sydney, Along with the Zoo, Sydney Aquarium, Sydney Wildlife Park, Imax cinema (3D) ummmm, Paddy's Markets, Chinese Gardens all of these are pretty much accessible from Darling Harbour except for the Zoo, and you can either park at Darling Harbour or do the whole public transport thing. Where in Sydney will you be staying? If you are close maybe we could meet up somewhere.
I bought a tin of Novalac today and some 'regular' flow teats, and I am amazed, it is 20 mins since his feed, and the leftover formula (a whole 10ml or less) is still the same consistency as normal formula, his Karicare stuff would have gone thick and gluggy by now.
-
Hellooooooooooo, where is everyone LOL
it is dead around here, i'm bored, Oliver is in bed sleeping, I've vacuumed, washed floors, washed, spose I could have some lunch then do some dusting, but I just HATE housework it is such a vicious cycle that I have to endure every couple of days, seems so pointless some times, I mean, why clean up just for everyone else to make a damn mess all over again...
Oh, well, might go and watch some Oprah while I have a sandwich.
TTFN

Nothing to report here. Nappy rash is all but gone now
Didn't get too much trouble from the immunisation.
DH and I are getting sick - hopefully it is just minor.
Drew out the money for my teeth yesterday :(. Get temporary teeth on September 3rd. Will have to be extra diligent with brushing after meals for a month.
I'm being non-productive today and the last two days have been bad for getting housework done. So understand your POV Sharon.
Sorry haven't got much else for you to read. Hope Oprah was good.

Hi ya!
Mum to Jack & BabyWrangler: Thankyou for all that info on introducing food to bubba. I think I'll try him on pumpkin next week & then introduce a new vegie a week.
Sharon: With the Farex, I just put a tablespoon of the Farex in a bowel, add 2 teaspoons of the Heinz Banana & Pear or the Heinz Apple puree into the bowel, then add a bit of formula milk to it, stir & keep adding milk until I get the right consistency. I think it's supposed to be a bit gluggy.... like porridge??? I dunno, that's how I've been making it anyway. How good is that Novalac? Is Oliver less spewy by having it?
I'm at Mum's today.... well, I actually picked her up this morning so that she could be my support for Ryder's needles this morning, but when I arrived at the Dr's, the receptionist tells me my appt is next Thursday!!! So we hop back in the car & back to Mum's place... and this is where we've chilled out (in the cold) all day. It's such a crappy day outside, no sun at all! Man... I swear I'm going crazy. Not working & being a Mum 24/7 has turned me into a really doey person! Poor little Ryder... I even gave him Panadol half hour before we went to Dr's this morning - and for no reason at all in the end!
I'm thinking about heading back to work 2 days a week for 4 hrs each day. It's a family business, so very flexible. I'd leave Ryder with my Mum one day & MIL the other. My Dad is screaming to have me back for those few hours, but I just know once I do go back I will be wishing I was at home with my little boy.
I feel sick myself today - feel like throwing up & have a really dry/funny throat. Hope that's as far as it eventuates! Hate being sick. :-(

HI guys,
just a quick visit to say g'day....DH has a chest infection on top of his flu, and the antibiotics he's on are upsetting his stomach so its all crappy for him.
And now, Benjamin seems to be getting the snots and grumps again so I think he's re-lapsing! Gonna defrost one of my bags of EBM (I kept 600ml) and will give him some before bed tonight, and again during the night (if he feeds...he hasn't the past 2 nights....dummy returns have re-settled him...wooohoo!) and tomorrow morning to hopefully kick the germs up their butt!.
Sharon: thats great news that Ollie's formula stays runny...much less wastage if he's a bit like Benjamin when he has some, then 15-20 minutes has more
Jodie: Good luck with the solids...we'll be moving up to vegies soon too
Grubi Great news about Greer's nappy rash...what cured it in the end (be good to get some to have on hand!)
We got some Billie Goat soap today to cure Benjamin's eczma (not that its too bad at all but if it gets worse it'll drive him insane). My mum has had eczma for 65 years, and this Billie Goat soap (made from Goats milk) has cured hers!!!!

Afternoon all,
Just though I would pop in. It is very quite in here of late. Well get set for another RAMBLE on way to THRILL you all.
Ok, So I've been up since 5am. Not due to Wyatt, but DH. I found him one in Launceston which is about an hr and half drive. So off we ALL went. He brought it, so this means I get my new kitchen.
My replacement card still have not yet arrives, so I went into freaked out mood, rung thrifty and asked if I can pay cash bond. Said yep, only 'cos I have already pre-booked. So am not so stressed now, I rung bank and told them to stick there card. Felt good.
Wyatt went for his neddles today, he was such a brave bot. Let out a little cry, but as soon as the Dr moved away he had stop crying. DS1 was pain in the bum big time.
Sharon: They all sound good, but what is the easiest way to get to them??? Car public transport??? I will be staying near the airport on Monday night, so I don't have to get up a 2am and risk getting stuck in traffic and miss flight home. I would just be gutted.
It's started to sink in I will be away from DH for 8 days. I get teary when I think about it. However all the kids (but Wyatt) are all excited.
Wyatt is asleep now and kids are cooking muffin's so i better go and make sure they burn them.
-
It is very quiet on here lately isn't it?
Not much to report here. Liam had his imms on Monday and seems to have recovered. He's not eating much at the moment and is sleepy a lot but I think it's either part of his normal cycle or an after affect of the imms...
I had a coldy thing but seem much better now. Wish I could get out of the house more... too cold! Am starting to get my head around going back to work, but I'm not really looking forward to it. I'll be going back full-time (have to for the $$) in mid-September. Going in for a few meetings before hand though so it will be a good lead-in.
BW - good you've got some EBM saved up. That should cure him ASAP! Good luck with the billy-goat soap too. I've heard about that and would try it myself if Liam had any issues.
Jodie - You've just got baby brain! It's affecting us all, so don't feel too dopey! I thought our capsule hire expired this month, but rang them today and it's not until October - duh! Have some strong garlic to help with your coldy thing... that's what helped mine! Plus I took they Nyal cold & flu herbal pills (from supermarket).. all fixed now!
Grubi - good luck with the teeth. You'll be glad when they're all done, I'm sure!
Sharon - Don't you just hate it when you're bored! I find myself shopping for cloth nappies online if I get too bored! Can't wait for the tax refund to go shopping... getting around $2,000 back! I've been watching the olympics - that keeps me entertained at the moment.
:hello: to everyone else - got to go, he's woken up :(
