well..that kinda all went to crud...
I mentioned in the other thread that BJ has been a bit fussy at bedtime and we were assuming it was wind (cause if we got him up and burped him, he'd burp....) but I've come to the conclusion that he would burp if we patted him on the back whether wind was bothering him or not, and that I thought it was overtiredness so I was gonna aim for an earlier bedtime (it's usually 7:30). Well, he was just finishing what he wanted of his bottle at 6:40 and had lovely dopey/drowsey eyes, and blinks that lasted a couple of seconds....and DH got home from work (earlier than I expected), and came in to let us know he was home...well of course BJ went spacko at seeing daddy, smiles and laughing and squealing etc, and instead of being asleep by about 6:45, he finally fell asleep (after displaying the exact same behaviours as previous nights at 7:30.
Now dont get me wrong, I love that BJ and DH have such a wonderful connection, but I wanted to test the overtiredness theory tonight and it was all looking promising....grrr....nevermind, I've put my foot down and told DH that BJ will be in bed at 6:30 tomorrow night and thats final!
He did take a little less time to settle tonight than in previous nights, suggesting that I MAY be onto something as he was going to bed earlier tonight and then took less time to settle...will see tomorrow night I guess.
Sharon I hope you guys are all on the mend soon....Love to you all!

Wow, can't believe it's been so long since my last post.
The computer has been giving me the poops lately so have been avoiding it abit. Which has been good and bad. Has meant that I have been shopping - presents for birthdays mainly - bad spending and the good is I have been walking a lot more with the kids.
Monday DH was home sick, so I gave in to DS not going to daycare, had an hour appointment at the dentist - that was bliss and we all went for a long walk, okay DS rode his trike. Tuesday had DS at home again and we went to the park and shopping, had a nice day. Wednesday I visited work to drop off a gift to one of the woman leaving to have a baby, she asked me to try and make it to morning tea on Thursday. DH took DS for a walk after work and they were gone over an hour - poor DH. I felt like crap with a headcold and obviously Greer has it too. So Thursday was more present buying, morning tea, dealing with Greer having headaches and my own sickness.
With the sickness, I'd gotten totally our of our routine and had been sleeping with both kids and having multiple wakes of a night time. Today I was trying to photgraph and list baby clothes on Ebay - only got about 10 things done all day. Greer has had a shot of panadol and gone to sleep by 5.45pm - last night she didn't settle until after 9pm so we might get a good night's sleep in.
This weekend is Nanna's birthday so we are going for the long drive to my parents on Sunday and will do Fathers Day as well. Must remember to write in the cards tonight and buy the birthday cake - or should I bake one?
Had our 3-4 month appointment with the MCHN on Wednesday and my little girl ain't so little... Average height and head circumference, but 90th percentile weight - she weighed in at 7.165kg. Definitely out of the 000 and even some 00 are too small for the chubba. MCHN said she was reacting in some instances like a 6-8month old. Have been sharing lots of smiles and laughs lately. I'm kind of enjoying being with her and was getting sad at the thought she will be at daycare all day when I go back to work. It's okay I'll get over it.
Today I walked half an hour to DS's daycare thinking he'd want to walk like he has every other night this week, ten minutes down the road on the walk home, he wanted in the pram so the walk back was Greer in baby carrier, Logan in pram. I tried all sorts of things to get him to walk, even gave him a lollipop to eat and he kept that in its wrapper until we got home so he could stay in the pram. So I've done my exrecise today, it took an hour and a half to complete the trip and my shoulders are a little sore now. My nose is stuffy and I refused to cook tonight - so pizza for dinner - undoing all that good work. Although I weighed myself yesterday and only half a kilo off preprego weight and my skirt was falling off on the walk today
-
well....that was a very interesting night.
After falling asleep at 7:30...Benjamin stayed asleep til 1:30am...I got up and was on my way into him when he settled himself to sleep again...then woke at 3:45 and I had to give him his dummy cause he couldnt reach it (his neck didnt extend that far!), re-settled himself at 6:00am and stayed asleep til 8am...then had 120ml of bottle....
I'm impressed!!!
-
well...since I'm the only one posting at the moment, I'll give you another update.
We put the bedtime routine into action alot eariler today...he had a bottle at 4 (120ml), played til 5:15, had his cereal, in the bath at 5:40, out of the bath after a play at 6pm, into the bedroom, 180ml of bottle, into bed at 6:15, asleep at 6:30.....Im in shock!
We'll see how the rest of the night goes, and tomorrow....
3 nights in a pattern, so I'm not counting my chickens til monday night, but, if this keeps up, DH will have to just see him before work in the mornings, and on the weekends which is a pity, but, if its best for Bj so be it!
-
:wall: :wall: I'm so over today!!!
One of the 3 DD, DS or DH have given me the poops today.
DH has been asleep for the last 3 hours. Had to take DS for a drive to get him to sleep and I know i'll wish I hadn't later on. DD won't stop grizzling, dummy doesn't even work.
Needless to say its an unproductive day.
-
 Grubi...
Well done BW - sounds like you're on a winner there. Good luck with it continuing.
Liam's a bit unsettled tonight. Not sure why, but he's been crying out at least every 1/2 hour since we put him down around 8pm...
I've been off with a migraine today - which isn't usual for me but I think it may just be hormonal. Not a good night for DS to decide to play up!!
I'm heading off to bed in a minute (if Liam lets me) and hoping for a good night...
-
Thanks for the hugs Nettie.
Now that DD is asleep, DS has woken after 4 and half hours of sleeping - told you I'd regret it later  and DH has after 4 and half hours of sleeping cooked dinner, had a shower and gone out for the night - just like he went out last night, I can actually type a little bit more than my short and snappy post earlier.
DD is either teething or suffering from this cold as she was irritable all day and hardly slept at all. I have been trying to get baby items listed on Ebay and slowly it is happening.
My main reason for being so over today is that DH went out last night and again tonight with a mate whose wife has been preventing him from catching up with his friends, so I am trying to be okay with it since this is only the 3rd time this year they have seen each other. The other two times was mate's birthday - family bbq by the river and mate's DS's christening. They haven't even visited to meet our new addition and only saw her at 7 weeks because we went to their DS's christening. DH going out means I have to deal with the sleep deprivation as DD was waking every 2-3 hours last night and then keep the kids occupied so he could sleep this afternoon and tomorrow is going to be horrible as he will be tired whilst we go to my parents place for Mum's birthday and to cover father's day off at the same time . All of this because mate's wife has gone away for the weekend and he is on an off week from the mines.
Now on top of that I'm not going to get a full night's sleep since DS is full of beans after his 4 and a half hour sleep - I'm ready for bed now and he wants to play!!!
Feel like that rant didn't make any sense - oh so tired... going to try to get DS to go to bed - wish me luck :crossfingers:
-
Aw fter reading that Grubi I feel awful coming in here to say the BJ slept (with a few stirrings that didnt need me, and one dummy return that did) from 6:30pm til 7:45am....Mind you it may be a one off!
I hope you got some sleep Grubi!!!!
Nettie hows the head?
Sharon I hope you guys are all on the mend!

Hello ladies!! i have really been missing in action. I have barely had a minute to myself lately. Has been compounded by my second bout of mastitis and now I have the flu. DH has been rather unhelpful with Luke lately so I have been trying to do everything and deal with his ****ty moods too. Been really fun.
What makes it all so much worse is that I had my first girls night out planned on Friday night just gone and was too sick with mastitis and flu to go. I was ready to burst into tears. Will tyr to reschedule I guess.
Luke on the other hand is doing awesome. Still fully BF but we are trying some rice cereal with apple the last few weeks and he is enjoying that. he is still off the weight chart at 8.8kg at 4months and has recently leapt off the length chart too at 69cm. He is a lovely little fellow full of smiles and is still sleeping through. Not showing any signs of wanting to roll though - i think he is simply to fat and lazy - why roll when someone will cme and carry me around. Going to have awesome triceps before this is done!
I have read through some of the posts - but it has been so long that personals are really beyond me. Hope everyone is well. I will try to pop in sooner rather than later this time!
-
Well, my little man was in bed by 6:05 last night, took a tad longer to settle last night but I think he could quite easily have gone down for the night at 5:30 but we were a bit behind due to being at the grandparents an hour and a half away...got home at 4:40, had a bottle, cereal at 5:15, bath at 5:30, and bottle at 5:50...so pretty darn good if you ask me!!!
Other than 3 dummy returns (none of which woke me fully!) he went from about 6:40 til 7am....was up til 8:30 then back to bed...where he still is...
Im thinking it will be early bed for him from now on!!!

Hi girls
ive been lurking but also pretty busy.
Russell is tranisitioning into his got as of yesterday. i decided better start that before he get to much bigger. so far all is going ok. he slept 8 - 6 last night in his own room , but i did get up to check on him at 3 just to be on the safe side as ts such a heart wrenching process. am used to having him right beside the bed and now hes in another room .
Q? he sleep s in a bubba sleeping bag and i have never had issues with him rolling in but should i use some anti roll pillows just in case of will the sleeping bag do the trick?

BW Don't feel bad about posting on the sleep with BJ. I think it is great and I know I'll get back there soon, just with the headcold I'm waking to ever stir, Greer will most likely go back to only waking with wind pain and possibly an 11-11.30pm feed once she is over the snotty sinus stage, we all have it so I'm okay with the sleeplessness. It's more that DH gets the sleep-ins that poops me off.
Like today he is on holidays and went to sleep after lunch and is still asleep, Greer went down about an hour ago, has stirred after 40 minutes and I've resettled, but it is almost time to pick up DS and therefore I won't go to sleep for fear of not waking.
That being said we had a huge sleep on Saturday night and last night was pretty good. DS, DD and I were all in bed by 8pm and didn't get out of bed until just after 7 and despite the wakings at 11pm, 2.30am and 6am. So we are improving.
Shell Sorry to hear you've been suffering mastitis. Hope you get your girls night out soon. I'm over the need to go out now, I've become such a home body.
Zenniedon't know about the sleepingbag and rolling sorry. Greer doesn't move much yet and DS co-slept so I have no idea.
Well better hang out the washing before going to pick up DS.
-
Hehehe Grubi Ive turned into a home body too!
So much so that for things I buy off ebay, I'd rather pay postage than venture out to get them!
That being said, its mainly because Benjamin is only awake for about 2 hours in the middle of the day and once you factor is mucking around with a bottle...well its down to an hour!
Too much effort after the time it takes to get out of the house and into the car anyway!!!
I must message Sharon and see how they are all getting on, Poor Oliver ended up sick too so she has her hands full with a house full of sickies!
-
I think I should not venture out ever again after today!!!
We made the mistake of going to Pixifotos for a family photo session. They were half an hour or more late for the appointment, needless to say DS had lost his tolerance by then and even the bribs weren't going to help much. He then smashed his foot with the ladder that they had for the photos - blood everywhere as he hit the toe nail. Eventually got him settled enough to have photos and by then Greer was read for a feed and sleep. Only got the family photo and maybe 3 good shots of her before she chucked it too. We got our photos, but the nightmare time out as we were there for an hour and a half before we got out of PIxifotos - had lunch that took an hour with nightmare DS and then we viewed the photos and made our selection which was a task as DS wanted to go back in for photos then - all up two and a half hours later we came home.
DH just kept saying the kids will be dead before I get home from the dentist tomorrow. 6 hours in a dentist chair - not looking forward to it.
-
Hi Ladies - hope everyone is getting over the winter coughs and colds.
Grubi - what a shame your photo experience was so bad. We had a great time at Pixi and got some great shots (my signature is part of our pixie family photo). You would think that they would be a bit more considerate of making babies wait so long. We had a bad photo experience at another company - they booked us in for a 10 minute time slot and Charlotte wasn't really into it. At the end of the time, she said "we've run out of time - that will have to do" - it takes more than 10 minutes for Charlotte to get comfortable in a new environment with a new person shoving things in her face. Will I be spending lots of money there? I don't think so - just give me my free one!
BW - I went through exactly the same thing with Charlotte. She was getting so tired in the evenings and I ended up giving her, her last feed at 5pm and in bed by 6pm - which often meant that DH didn't even get to see her (he leaves for work before she is up). Then when he came home early and I would suggest he give her a bath, he would want to have a beer/shower/watch the news etc first. Everything was still on his own timeframe. He said to me that when she was older, she wouldn't remember not doing anything with him anyway. I just said that he will realise that he has not bonded with her, when she is a bit older and falls older and runs straight past him to come to me for a cuddle - that sure put a rocket up him and he is great with her now. But even with the really early bed time - she would still sleep through until 5am at the earliest. As of the last couple of weeks though, her early bedtime has turned into a late nap (ending about 6.30pm) and we have a lot more evening time with her until she goes to bed about 7.30pm.
Zennie - I don't think the sleeping bag alone will stop them rolling. Charlotte is in a sleeping bag but then I still wrap her too. She is not a roller and stays perfectly still all night. I would suggest wrap her and tuck her in nice and tight and she should stay still.
Well, Charlotte is going really well - she moved into a forward facing car seat on the weekend. Hit the magic 8 kg and was so over the capsule - we had a screaming match every time she had to get in. She has caught DH's cold so has a nasty cough which wakes her up all day and night. We are looking forward to starting swimming lessons (when her cold goes) and starting solids in the next few weeks. I can't believe that she is nearly 5 months old - where does the time go?

I'm BACK TG
Morning all...
How is everyone doing in here? I seems very quite, I was gone for 9 days and you can only do 3 pages worth of chatting.
Well trip was ok, I didn't see my mother doing that bad however I wont be there for her surgery on this Thursday. She wanted me to cancel my flight home and change it until next week. There was NO way I was going to do that. I had had enough on day 5.
I took kids to the Zoo, (3hr Drive) and my trusty GPS got me there, only to find there was NO parking. They are updating there parking lot to a 3 levels. So I had to park 2 streets away and walk back. could of KILLED DS in the first hr of getting there. But after that he calmed down. Got lots of photos, I took around 900 just at zoo. I haven't gone back through and delete alot yet, laptop crashed on me, so I went and brought a new on. Now I just have to clean off everything on new one and upload photo programs. This laptop is for the sole use of photos. Will send old one into to get wiped and cleaned. I think it go virus.
Did a million other things, went THROUGH the city, to get to sydeny aquarium. Couldn't find parking, then got lost, and had to pay a taxi to get me back there. Dam GPS was taking me wrong way (so I thought). Got some photos still haven't looked at them. But we had out photo taken with animals at the zoo, and got some photo shopped photos.
Anyway I am home...
I want to start a worm farm and get some chocks. But when I told DH about it, he just said NO, I think becasue of the dogs. I wasn't going to be a DIY job, I was going to buy one already made, and put tent pegs in ground so can't move... Sod him, he can go and buy the same new tools all the time, so tonight we are going to have it out. Wish me luck.
Wyatt was such a good baby, sit sleep his 7-8hrs every night. He had to sleep in his pram. DS was ok, and DD was ok. But will never travel that far away again with only me, agiasnt them. I put wyatt in Ergo so I could be hands free at airport, and they secuirty made me take him off to go through check point. Was so peed at that... No one bothered to help me at all. Not even flight attendants.
Well I better get going. Just thought I would let you all know I am ALIVE and back ONLINE..
-
Russell dosnt roll in his sleep or anything but during the day he is constanly on his belly or playing with his feet. he only needs 2 seconds to go back to front but has not got the hang of the fron to back yet and gets frustated. he also insists on sitting up and standing, and non-cooperaion is rewarded with a hearty ear peircing squeal. cant wait for him to find his feet, ill be in all sorts of trouble then
-
Tarnee the experience was bad, but the photos we got were great, we ordered 6 of the photos that they took, plus the free one. Most of them were of DS as it happened.
Seeing his toe today, he cut a huge chuck of the skin on the side of his 3rd toe - it looks so sore. Daycare thought he did it there today, so I had to apologise for not telling them when I dropped him off.
Sarah glad your trip wasn't too bad. Hope the discussions with DH go well and look forward to seeing some photos.
Nettie thanks for the comment on the photo of Greer.
Sharon hope you are coping and that everyone is getting better.
As for my day of 5 hours in the dentist chair, it all went really well, had to stop myself from panicking when I couldn't open my mouth when they put the temporary teeth in. Must say they look swish. It really didn't hurt with the numbing of the gums. Only bit was thinking... once this is started I can't go back. Dentist got the work done by the better dental technicians which was going to cost me an extra $10k for no extra charge, which is pretty good for me. Now for the 32 days of temporary teeth before the real deal is done. Best bit is that DH and kids survived Mum's absence for 5 and a half hours.
