Afternoon Ladies,

Nettie: your in for it now, but well done to little Liam... I don't want Wyatt to move for at least another 4 months. He rolls his bum hever where ATM and can sort of slup backwards. He is starteding to prop him self up on knees.

BW: How is BJ going?

Grubi: How did your weekend go? All according to your plans? Was Greer good, did your DH help? What about the ILs?

Does anyone know why Meg (B_P) left? Sounds serious, and I hope all is well. But wish them all the best.

I know I don't get on much anymore, but I do try and catch up, every now and then. Wyatt and Landon are just full of beans, and to think I wanted another boy... (silly me)

Well I've tried to lose my extra kgs, from Wyatt, and just can't shake them so I've started the Biggest Loser Club. Its just about eating right, writing in your online dariy, and what food you have, then walking 3 time a weeks ATM. It's say, you should lose any thing from .5kg - 1kg a week. I will be happy with that. So fingers crossed hopefully will work. I didn't want to do a milk shake thing 'cos when I stop taking them didn't want to pile it back on. So the healther way, small meals, and walk more.
Will let you know how I go, this is only day 3 on the BLC. Weight day is on Saturday.

Well I better go DD is grading for her black blet with Blue stripe at Kung Fu today. So we were going to walk down, but I'ver got to go 2 town so am driving now.

Are your babies starting to hit and scratch?? Russell keeps scratching at our faces and hitting them he also throws his arms up and quite violently. i dont know much about this kinda thing. he is on trck with everything else like his hand eye co-odination, sitting up ect but the hittinghimself and us is a bit of a worry

Wyatt does that, however I grab his hand and slide it down my face and tell him genlte then we do it on his face and repeating the owrd "GENTLE". It worked with DS1 he started and after 2 moths he would slowly put his hand on our faces.
That is all I can suggest, or get out of the way when he waving his arms around...

Zennie - YES! Liam's been doing that for a while. We've started calling him Bam-Bam (like the Flintstones) because he puts his arm way over his head and brings it down full speed to hit the table/floor/me.. whatever... He also scratches. He's not selective though - it seems to be his way of discovering. He doesn't know it hurts. He's pulling our hair a lot too (both DH & I have a lot... wonder where Liam got it from??) and I'm sure he'll stop it when he knows it's hurting because we can do it back!

Sarah - no idea about Meg. Sounds like you have to be in the 'in crowd' to know I'm not into that sort of 'clicky' behaviour, so I've stayed right out of it... Sorry if that sounds b*%#^%y but I don't see why it was done with all that drama and I'm so not into that...

Nettie: I so know what you mean. There seem to be alot of drama, with her leaving. If you are going to leave just leave unless you need people to convince you to stay. So very over dramtic if you ask me. There could be a million reasons why, but reading Megs, goodbye thread sounds as though someone is dying or she and her DP had split or someone on BB was mean to her, and she need to make drama out of it, so other know and wont talk to the other peoson involed. HOwever I am just guessing, and total unsure.

Hi Zennie,
BJ has always been grabby (though it does tend to be one of his tired signs, he gets all flappy...and since we're both fans of Top Gear (uk) we started calling him Gear Box (as in flappy paddle gear box).
We too respond as Sarah does, we take his hand, stroke our face, then stroke his saying "Gentle", we also say gentle that same way when we are helping him pat our cat Mia.

Well, Bj has finally REALLY gotten the rolling thing down pat, he is no longer where I leave him when I come back to the room and can actually be about 4m from where he started....as a result, I am packing away his play gym, and toy bar, as its only a matter of time til he gets himself stuck in one of them (much like Ollie huh Sharon?!)

I bought him some playgro stacking cups yesterday (they were reduced to clear at Coles form $12.95 to $4.50, so I grabbed them), he loves them, they have chewy edges and stack up 4 high...he did however roll into them yesterday and they fell on his head....blood curdling scream and some tears later, he is best friends with them again, and thinks its great to knock them down and make mummy sing the "build it up" song!

His new teething necklaces (the tlismi moti ones) arrived today, 2 seperate ones cause they say 2 is best, so I have combined them both on the one necklace and we'll see how they go. If they work, I may have to list the amber one on ebay...$50 I can't afford to waste!

Ok, well, I'm off to finish packing away his "baby" toys, then finish cleaning the oven...yay....

Wyatt has started to eat his rice cereal..... YAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYYA

Soon I will be able to start him on normal veggies.... Thank god, I'd thought I would be a milking machine forever

HI guys,
Just a quick one...how much water are your kids drinking?

Benjamin has always been offered boiled water during the day, first in a bottle when he was little, then at 3 months when we started solids, we started with a cup.

In the past couple of days he's really been skulling the water.
Tonight with his tea he drank over 20ml...almost 30!

He's still drinking his bottles and stuff, but I just wondered if I should be concerened at the amount or water he wants...its like he's dying of thirst sometimes!

Oh and Sarah great news about Wyatt and his cereal!

I'm Back.....
Been away for a while with the Christening and post christenting chores.
The actual day went off beautifully, only negative was the 33 degree heat, but there was a nice breeze for most of it. Greer's 1am to 3.30am wake up meant I made salads really early and I had a lot of time to get things ready for the morning. Yes Sarah DH did his share, of course I'll still complain as his work was largely over by the time the party was on and whilst ILs did most of the hosting work, still felt like I didn't get to socialise as I was left holding the baby whilst he drank with the godparents.
The priest was hilarious and the service went on forever. The rotissery (sorry 4 spelling) stopped on the spit whilst we were there so the meat wasn't cooked until nearly 4pm. Thankfully we had sausage rolls (SIL made them just in case - god bless her) and chicken.
Gave each godparent a personalised bottle of wine with Greer's photo, their name stating they were godmother or godfather and the christening details.
3 of the godparents and DH were at one of the godfather's birthday party the night before and were surviving on limited sleep.
I'd say it went well and the bits that weren't to plan weren't too bad.
Have to say the best part of the day was the breakthough on toilet training DS. He had a nappy on as we didn't want to have to worry about toilet mishaps and he not only asked to go to the toilet during the service, twice on Sunday he took off a nappy to go do poos since then no poos in nappies or knickers and no bribs to get him to the toilet I am so happy!!
Greer has been excellent and is sleeping with only one wake during the night and not sure it is definitely a feed wake.
We are trying to start solids, but she clamps her mouth shut the minute the spoon is put near her mouth.
We turned the car seat around today and much happier in the car = a happy Mummy.
BW - absolutely no water, but then we are still on exclusive BF, so that could change with bottle feeding. I just don't even think about offering water.
Off to bed now. DH has gone out again so home alone with the kids, one glass of champagne to finish off the bottle from Sunday and I've died.

Grubi I'm soo glad everything went well....and little DS, FANTASTIC!!!! That is so awesome about the poos!!! Having toilet trained so many kids at work, I know how exciting it really is!!!
Good job all round I say.

Benjamin still faces backwards in the car, our carseat man recommended to us that they stay facing backwards as long as possible cause it helps strengthen their neck, and also, because its safer for them.
Benjamin hasn't hit the 8kg mark anyway, and still happily travels in the car facing backward...we have one of the lamaze tummy time mirrors, that we have taken off its foam wedge, and we hung that off the seat straps near the back seat so he talks to himself (and I can see him in the rear view mirror).
We have his toy links hanging across the straps for him to play with too. I do however think I need to get his straps moved up a notch, I'll take the seat to see the guy tomorrow or wednesday and see what he says!

We are gonna start with some toast at lunch time and see how Benjamin goes with that (and a few vegies as well). Once he has toast down pat it will give him something different to have for brekky or lunch....still havent started on fruits...possible next week....he's happy enough with his vegies, and at this stage I say if if ain't broke....don't "fix" it!

Zennie the hitting and grabbing thing is definitely an age related thing, Oliver is doing it too, we usually just ask him to be gentle, or say softly and get him to stroke our faces.
BabyWrangler that's great that BJ has the rolling thing down pat, well Oliver is on his tummy he moves backwards, which is really frustrating for him since he is usually trying to get at a toy that is in front of him LOL, he seems to have stopped rolling again... Oh, and i'm a believer of the if it ain't broke, don't fix it saying too.
sarah_dobbo2 that's great that Wyatt has starting eating his farex, I a firm believer that they know when to do things when they are ready not when we want them to.
alittlegrubi great that the christening went well, and also fantastic news on the breakthrough with toilet training, I remember when I started TT Jordan and he would just scream whenever we tried to get him to go,so we left if for about 3 weeks, at which time he became ready, the only thing we had to watch for was him going off into a quiet corner for his poo's as he didn't like to be 'watched' lol so I know how much of a big deal it is when you finally get them to master the pooing on the potty/toilet.

Well, there will probably be a few who don't agree with what I did yesterday with Oliver but, I really don't care, we where out for the afternoon after school with a friend of mine and the kids went swimming, by the time they had finished they where starving so we went to mcdonald's, now Oliver had already had his 'dinner' but he was grabbing at my chippies so I gave him a couple, there wasn't any salt on them, and if there was I brushed it off, but he loved them, he was only really sucking on them and probably on had about 5, but he really was loving it, and there is no way I would have given him them as a substitute for dinner it was just a treat, so I am thinking of starting him on some toast for breakfast and see how he goes since he did so well with the 'chewing' of the chippies.

Oh, forgot to add, I have booked Oliver into swimming lessons on Monday, it is a mum's and bub's one so we will see how he goes, it's more safety and floating to start off with and not actually swimming.

I did that with maccas chips the other day too...I bought maccas for lunch while I was grocery shopping, and what can I say, he was in the baby seat, watching every mouthful
Much like Oliver, BJ pretty much just sucked the potato out of the middle and was happy with that!

He had toast for lunch today, sucked on all of it, but chewed and swallowed about half, not bad for a first try, then he had his vegies and a bottle, so I was very proud.
We were meant to start swimming lessons at the start of this term, but he's just had his ear infection and I didn't really wanna risk it.
We'll go either over summer term, or start next year.

Hi all just popping in to say g'day!
I hope everyone and their bubs are going well.
We're ok here, Benjamin has an ear infection (again), so I'm assuming (since this happened last time) that a new tooth might pop out soon....gee thats gonna be a fun pattern if it happens every time!

He still isn't crawling yet, but rolls lots so thats cool!
He has weetbix for brekky, toast and veg for lunch, and veg for tea.
We were gonna start yoghurt this week, but we now need to wait and see if he reacts to the antibiotics....

BabyWrangler That really sux that BJ has another ear infection, I hope it doesn't become a patter for him and his teeth as that will be no fun for you guys. Oliver seems to have forgotten how to roll again but he does lots of back shuffling so he is never where I leave him on the floor, his play mat is useless now. He is having 1/2 a wheet bix for breakfast and I am going to give him some toast after his lunch today, he had pasta yesterday while my friend and I had lunch and he loved it. I've tried him yoghurt since he disliked the farex so much but he hated that too, he doesn't want to eat anything that isn't 'hot' as soon as his food starts to go cold he starts gagging LOL he's a strange one...

Swimming went really well, and we do our homework every night in the bath and he is slowly getting used to water trickling over his face, he doesn't like it very much but he doesn't scream either.

Had a good day at the air show on Sunday, we left at 7am and didn't get home until 7.45pm, and Oliver was a real trooper considering he had to sleep in his pram and eat etc, all this with airplanes flying past. One thing I discovered though is that McDonald's no longer heat up baby food/bottles in the microwave for you, but they are willing to let you have a cup of scalding hot water sitting on a table that can easily be knocked over, I had this problem at Krispy Kreme the other week where they refused to heat up a bottle so I had to have boiling hot water in a cup on the table (very dangerous if you ask me)

we are around aswell. Dp went onsite for a week + earlier this week and got birthdays and functions coming out our ears. also my brother ended up in hospital with a infection that spread from his mouth through the soft tissue in his face. i can feel a cold coming on so am sucking on strepsils in the ope i can stop it in it its tracks.

well lots to do otherwise the whoe house will falll apart. have fun everyone. oh russell 1st tooth still hasnt popped up and hes is rolling from place to place instead of crawling.

Oh my god, I've had the same situation as you with the hot water before.
It drives me insane, and in fact I had a HUGE arguement with Centre Management at our local shopping centre a few weeks ago, because the one and only parents room was closed for renos, and nowhere would microwave BJ's bottle, only offer hot water.
They do so because if they overheat the bottle, and I give it to BJ and burn him, I can sue them.

I turned around and said to the guy who was arguing with me..."Which do you think is going to have more weight in court....me trying to sue you for burning my son with a bottle I should have checked myself, or me trying to sue you for the 3rd degree burns my child, or any of the other 3 children we have with us received from the cup of boiling hot water you have presented me with because the parents room is closed, and you have provided no alternative"
He went bright red, took the bottle into the next room (I could still see it at all times so he didnt spit in it!!), which was the staff room, heated it, I checked it, and gave it to BJ.

I don't think they'd thought about it before, if a child is scalded by a bottle heated by them, they are not at fault, the parent is for not checking...they could also cover themselved by making sure the staff who hand it over say something like "Just check that before you give it to them" they are then passing the onus onto us....its just STUPID!

One the home front, BJ is improving...I'm giving him "Crawling Training" to see if I can speed the process up (for his benefit not mine!) I put him on his tummy, put his arms in front of him, then nudge him forward (sort of push) with my knee, move his arms, nudge him and so on...he starts to move his arms forward after I nudge him, and even kicks off my legs a bit...he finds it a tad amusing too which helps!

On a personal note...I'm heading to the dentist on Monday to have my wisdom teeth looked at, my top right one has me in ALOT of pain at the moment, and I'm hoping they pull it out on the spot.
BJ is going to my old work for the time I'm gone...my gorgeous boss has booked him in...he'll be doted on!

Well...Benjamin had yoghurt today for the first time...he LOVED LOVED LOVED it...we couldn't shovel it in fast enough!

He ate his whole bowl then looked so devestated that it was all gone, we gave him a little more!

He's had a big day today, with DH's step dad coming to visit (bj has still never met DHs mum but...so be it!), he's tuckered out now and went straight to sleep.

Oh and we also got our first really audible, repeated word, bub bub bub...he said it a few times after his bath, so that was cool...he never stops "talking" but bub was said a few times in a row..very proud.

So, after a big brekky with dad, then yoghurt for lunch for the first time, a visit from Step Grandad, and some bub bubs, he's suitably exhausted...so am I...my toof is hurting...

Hi all,
Have been MIA as the computer died the graphics driver went caput! So I have had to get a new one and all that goes with that....

We have definitely started teething here, red tongue where she keeps rubbing along hte gum, everything in the mouth and chomping.

Has anyone else experienced a thickening of the poos. We are still BF and the poos have changed consistency and smell in the last week. we have only just started solids, but that is lucky to be two mouthfuls a day as Greer screws her mouth shut to almost everything I offer. The poos are terrible though - still mustard colour, a bit pasty and stink to high heaven.

Greer still doesn't roll, hates tummy time and screams in frustration at not being able to move. The latest thing is trying to stick her toes in her mouth and arching back to get some movement. I must be doing it all wrong

Sleep has been unsettled and is just returning to a nice once a night waking. She seems to be sleeping so much better now and has slept through but it is usually 2am to 8.15am that we get a sleep through.
