Looks like I am the first to post in this thread. Where are the other late April mums? I guess everyone is too busy enjoying their new bubs.
For those who don't know me from my belly buddies group I had my second son, Edward, on the 16th of April, 3520g, 54cm long, head circumference 35.5cm. He was a VBAC, 4 1/2 hours active labor. My first son, Byron, was an emergency c/s due to preeclampsia.
Things are going well. Edward is eating and sleeping well; he has been sleeping 8 hours straight most nights. I can't believe my luck! I was told that you only get one lovely baby, but it seems that isn't true. Both of mine have been great eaters and sleepers.
Byron alternates between being the most delightful brother ever, and being an absolute monster. I think he just wants Edward to play with him, but that doesn't help my stress levels. If anyone has any ways of making big brothers be more gentle then I am all ears!
I am looking forward to hearing from some other mums,
Melanie
Hi Organicem. I wish I knew the secret to 8 hour sleeps, I would be able to make a fortune! Just luck I'm afraid. I'm pretty sure it won't stay this good for too long. Are you not getting much sleep?
Hey there Melanie and Organicem. My little Ivy was born on April 27th, 5 weeks prem. so I'm moving groups (as most of my belly-buddies group are just starting to have their bubs).
We've just been enjoying our first few days at home together after Ivy spent her first weeks in the Special Care Nursery. Such a relief to have her with us - was the hardest thing I've ever done, having to leave her in hospital every night. She's doing really well and getting stronger every day. We've had trouble with getting her to stay awake long enough to get her to feed well (apparently a really common issue for premmies) so so far she's really quiet, sleepy and calm and has barely ever cried. Today she had her first big yell at me sore tummy I think) and I think she's really turned the corner as far as feeding and energy levels go... bye-bye peace and quiet!!
This is my first baby and I am in awe of her, of my body for creating her and of how much love one person can feel. Just incredible... and so excited about the journey to come.
Look forward to getting to know you and other April Mummies.
Hi! My name is Marrii. I have given birth to my first son, Kurtis on the 17th of April 2009. He was 7 pound 9 ounces. Recently, my husband to be just returned back to work after a massive surgery and I am looking to join a mothers group in my local area. I googled Mothers Group Rouse Hill and this forum came up.. Im wondering if someone could please point me in the right direction.. as Id really like to meet some mummys and listen to thier insight
WELCOME Marrii! unfortunately I can't help you out with a local mothers group - I got in contact with our local mothers group through the Child and Youth Health; CYH Home - Home ... you could give them a buzz and they might be able to help you? otherwise welcome - i love BB even if never get to actually 'meet' the nice ladies here.
Well today we had lachlans first injections. BOTH mil and my mum came along for support (of me - not lachlan). anyway the Dr looked way impressed that we had an entourage (NOT) and as I was a bit queasy he kicked me out of the room! i heard him scream twice and cry from them. omg I almost threw up with hearing him cry. i'm such a bloomin sook!
Both of the 'grandies' wanted to come and when i told them the other one was coming they were like 'well, i guess you don't need me then huh' the reason i invited BOTH is cos they offered and wanna be there for him/ me and i don't want them to get their noses out of joint (MIL wasn't ALLOWED to be involved with my partners older kids as his ex is MEAN .... *starts with a B*) so i want them to both be. eaugh it's a fine line sometimes!
apart from that we've been going GREAT guns. lachlan slept the last two nights from 12am - 7.30am then last night from 12am til 6.30am. hoping that the needles don't get a bad reactoin and stop that cos mumma loves her sleep LOL.
Sacha to you. I hate doing the needles too. They only cry cos the actual jab part hurts same as it does when the needle breaks our skin. Great sleeping too!!
Thanks for your advice. I was lucky enough to have met a lovely lady from bb of whom i met up with only recently. She lives in my local area and we plan to meet again soon.
Kurtis is doing fantastically. He has had both of his injections and cried for a while. It did irregulate his sleeping patterns though, but just recently has started to return to the normal.. normal being 8pm till 3:30am.. if thats normal.. lol. That was about two weeks ago.. so i wish you all the best.
morning all. hope we're all having great weekends.
nothing much to report here; Lachlan is sleeping like a CHAMP. consistently has his last feed at 11.30pm-12am then down til 7.730am. it's paradise
any tips for eczema? he has it quite bad all over. not weepy or anything just more dry and scaly. have been putting sorbolene cream on it several times a day - with glycerine in it. but not doing a heck of a lot to clear it.
Hi,
I have a 5 month old born on Anzac Day 25th April 2009.
My family thought this was a special day and they call my baby a digger. My late grandfather fought in WW1 and WW2 so they have found my baby to be special.
