Howdy Girls,
Sorry not going to do personals as such, havent really read all the replies since my last post, sorry.
I got a new car on friday, and im so happy, its so sexy, my old car was getting old and was starting to degrade a bit (LOL) so i was definately in need of a new car, esp with having a bubba and all..So i got one..and my gosh is it sexy LOL.
Ive been great, i seem to be losing weight...had to have my engagement ring resized the other week, and also ive noticed my jeans are a big baggy around the bum and waist...which is scary coz i was a size 11, so i must be a size 10 or even 9 now :| Im glad summer is approaching, skirts and singlets all the way, YAY!!! Although i must admit, sitting on the massage chair at the chiro's the other day was a bit of a horror, my tummy was literally wobbling LOL...jelly belly from im guessing the extra skin from PG...it was kinda funny though the way it was wobbling hehe...think i might attempt to tone it up a bit though..
Well i think im going to go..im trying to get my hands on the book "The wonder weeks" but it seems everywhere i go its going to be a 14 day wait, which sucks coz "I WANT IT NOW!"

hi everyone
bw glad things are going well since you stopped operation dummy removal! i'm all for taking the path of least resistance where babies are concerned.
fire that sounds terrible. are you sure it's teething? hope you're all doing better today.
meg what sort of car did you get?
nettie hope the transition back to work is a smooth and painless one. what sort of work do you do? you've probably told us this already, but who's looking after liam while you work?
shoegal well done on your weight loss. i've lost a bit since i cut out dairy, but would love to lose more.
beatrix your pics are gorgeous. what a bunch of cute little girls you have!
weird thing happened the other night. dd only woke up ONCE! she slept 8 hours, then 4 hours. the next night she did a 5-hour stretch. naps have improved a bit too. but just to make sure i wasn't getting too excited, she reverted to her old habit of waking 2-hourly last night. oh well, there's always tonight... here's hoping! still, i haven't forgotten that ds slept through the night for a week at 3 months of age, then spent the next two years waking every 2 hours on the dot. so i'm trying not to be too hopeful.
-
MGM I got a late 2005 Toyota Camry Altise :)
-
MGM - today wasn't too bad... missed my little man though! I'm a Team Leader in an office and my DH is the full-time stay-at-home-Dad for Liam. He's sick with a cough/body aches thing at the moment so it wasn't much fun for him today - but luckily Liam was well behaved!
Loved getting the big grins when I got home though ;)
-
Nettie- thats great about work!!! and hope DH is getting better
well im in the process if removing mj from the dummy... she only uses it everynow and then so im hoping i can kick it b4 she turns out like Annika who wont give it up.. am going to work on herafter mj... but need to remove any dummy temptation from mj 1st annika will steal hers
-
hey meg i see you've changed your user name! car sounds great - camrys are good, reliable cars.
nettie glad all went OK. it's great that your DH can take care of liam. hope he gets better soon.
beatrix good luck with dummy removal! it must be really annoying when they won't give them up. maybe annika will follow mj's example once you have some success!
yesterday was awful - dd woke at 6.20 and only slept half an hour between then and 6.30pm. she resisted all attempts to get her to nap (besides the one half hour) but wasn't actually as grizzly as i thought she'd be, given her lack of sleep.
have a good day everyone :).

HI guys,
Just popping in to post my photo album...I finally uploaded photos of Benjamin!
https://www.bellybelly.com.au/forums...ry.php?cat=901
-
BW: Benjamin is looking cute as!! I saw the pics when you uploaded them :)
I have also updated/arranged all my pics, the link is in my signature.
-
Buggeration...Benjamin has an ear infection
-
Oh NO about the infection, BW. I fear an ear infection. DS is pulling at his actually but I think it is teeth related as it is intermittent. I may get it checked in case.
Sleep has gotten better and better here. The key is no sleep associations other than the ones I wanna live with. So I got him blanky bear, a little blanket with one of those teddies in the middle. He sucks on that and bites it and stuff like his sister did on hers, and it is easy for him to hold on to or to find in the bed, unlike a dummy. I wore it for a day under my clothes to imbue it with my smell, and he took to it quite well.
I am slowly phasing out the before-sleep/nap feed, as he always falls to sleep or gets really sleepy during that feed and this caused the feed-to-sleep association we had. Which meant he kept waking wanting THAT done again to get back to sleep. So I brought that feed to a half hour before the nap, so there is no before-nap feed now. We still have the before bedtime feed but I'm tweaking that so that it is feed THEN story, to keep him awake-ish. He's too damned tired to make it most of the time though.
We do a little nap ritual of new nappy, grobag and story (usually too tired for story, so we look at the cover then put it down :lol, hey, it keeps the ritual!) all done in the room, fan on and then rock in the chair until settled. Then I say "bed now, Ci, naptime. Have a good nap, bubby." and kiss him and stroke his back, maybe pat him and rock the cot if he is moving around trying to get comfy and that's IT!! And he does 1.5 hours to 2 hours twice a day. He has been putting himself to sleep for days now, and therefore putting himself back to sleep when he wakes during sleep cycles. Even though he is teething HORRIBLY, poor sod, he is sleeping better than ever. Two nights ago, he did this:
6.15pm asleep
9.30 wake, settled himself
1am feed
5am feed
Check out the 7 hours between feeds!
He only did that once though, but we are getting there. No more all night feeds anyway.
We still have the long, luxurious half hour/hour long early morning feed. I couldn't rip him off of that. I enjoy it anyway as it is so quiet and comforting for him and bonding.
Thought I'd post a nice post since it has been a tough slog for us and I haven't been a happy camper.
I read regularly though.
Good to know about moo goo, SG. I'll have to get some for general purposes.
-
Hey All,
OMG :crying: i wanna be pregnant again!! I was reading the very first Belly Buddies thread (Belly Buddies - Due 16th-30th April 2008) and it was so strange...but now i have this desire to go through it all again...
Fire Im glad things have gotten better and easier for you!!
Isabell hasnt had any sickness or infections or anything, im lucky i guess. Im prepared though :)
She also had a bit of CC, but we have gotten rid of most of it, still a tiny bit to get rid of. She looks a bit like a balding man LOL coz with the cradle cap came the hair too...so she has heaps of hair on the back of her head but the odd strand on the top of her head.
-
General update: We're all doing better. DH is mostly over his 'flu and Liam's got a cough and has had a few days where he's been a bit warm, but nothing major. I've gotten through my first week of work unscathed and I even managed to sleep through the night last night! DH fed Liam at 11pm and he didn't wake up until about 6.45 am. By then I was hanging out a load of nappies!
We're starting to get into a routine in the mornings too. I shower at night so all I have to do to get ready for work is have some breakfast, pack a lunchbox & my water, brush my teeth & get dressed. Usually I let DH sleep in until 8 am and hand Liam over then. That gives me time to do those things (sometimes I've already packed my lunchbox & had breakfast by that time) and get to work by 8.30 am. Glad I'm not a hair & make-up person!! We've also started a routine for leaving - when either DH or I leave the house to go somewhere (like work), we do a special wave (fingers to palm, then open again) and blow kisses saying 'bye-bye'. Hopefully this will get him prepared for our absence.
Liam's been having rice cereal in his formula all week now. The packet says to add 4 tablespoons to 120 - 160 mls of fluid (formula/water/ebm) but it was too thick to put through the bottle (which is how we wanted to start him because of the cleft palate) so we're only putting 1 tablespoon in a 150ml bottle of formula - up to 4 times a day. However, we've discovered that he's not eating as much now (one day he only had 4 bottles all day and didn't finish any of those!) but he's sleeping better at night. Over the weekend I intend to make the rice cereal up properly and feed it to him on a spoon to see how he goes. :crossfingers:
I'm about to put some new pics in the gallery so feel free to have a squiz... some are awful cute!
BP - are we still allowed to call you Meg? You're scaring me about the CC because Liam's been scratching at some of his (I can only tell because there's flakes in his hair!) so I'm not sure what to do if it's bothering him. I don't want to do anything that will affect his hair and it's hard to just rub stuff into it because you can't even see his scalp, his hair's that thick!
Ness - good luck with the dummy removal! You've got double trouble there!
Janine - I'm so pleased for you! Sounds like you've turned the corner  I hope you're getting more sleep now and are feeling more human!
:hello: to anyone else I've forgotten!
-
Howdy girls,
I have updated my gallery with more pics, link in my siggie.
Tonight Isabell woke up suddenly crying, and i was unable to settle her no matter what. In the end after some panadol i sat her on my lap, and put my finger in her mouth and rubbed her gums. She stopped crying instantly and after a while even cheered up. Im guessing maybe she is teething and it may have upset her a bit tonight. I got her to sleep after a short play on her play mat.
Im feeling good about myself atm :) Im feeling happy (will be happier when Ben is home from work for the week) and im feeling confident about myself too. Next week im going clothes shopping, ready for summer, and i feel good about my body, i feel that my body is even ready for summer. Im lucky, im back to pre preg weight, i pretty much was about a week after birth. Im getting my hair done too, and i cant wait. All in all i feel wonderful!!!
Nettie Liam is a little spunk!! Love the hair!!!! Yay on the routine, i cant say I have a routine with Isabell set in concrete, but it seems to be the same every day. She is a good baby!!
-
Hey all, I have a thread here that I'd like you to take a look at if you get time.
Baby Sleep Project
It's my other baby. I'd love it if some of you could participate!
Or, you can go straight to the blog with the info: the Blog
Gotta run for now... thinking of you.
-
Janine - when I click on that link, it takes me to a page that says "no thread specified". Do you want to check it?
-
Janine - I've sent my story to you.
SG
xo
-
fire i have the same problem - can't access the link. have tried twice :(.
dh is trying to get me to take the kids out so he can watch the grand final in peace - last thing i feel like, 3 hours alone with kids! at least it's a nice day.
too sleep-deprived to write personals, sorry... hope all you mums and kids are well. anyone have teeth yet?
-
Wow - this thread's even quieter than the other one!
Coo-ee - Janine? I'd love to check that page if you can figure out what I'm doing wrong
Here's my post from the other thread:
Hi everyone!
We've been MIA for a while cause things are busy at work and when I get home the computer's the last place I want to be! It's a shame this page is blocked by my work server...
Liam's starting to move around more now. Not crawling, but rolling & using his arms to change direction. Very cute! His favourite toy at the moment is the lounge. DH puts him up on his shoulder & he just runs his hands over the back of the lounge and 'talks'... he threw up in DH's hair yesterday
I've strained some rib muscles and am currently on 'light duties' with Liam. It hurts to pick him up from the floor and holding him in my arms is hard. So poor DH doesn't get a break at the moment :( I'm in a lot of pain and taking a lot of painkillers - which I usually don't like to do. Thank the Goddess for Advil!
We're heading to IKEA on Saturday to buy Liam's high chair. Then we'll be starting to spoon feed him (currently giving rice cereal very watered down in his bottle). Should be fun! I think he's SOO ready for proper solids. He keeps thrusting things in his mouth and actually chewing on them (including our fingers!) and is reacting to taste. He seems to be getting frustrated with a completely liquid diet so I think he'll settle down with some 'solid' food. Once he's got the hang of the spoon feeding, we'll try potato, then sweet potato, pumpkin, etc...
He isn't sleeping a lot in the day at the moment - DH is struggling to get him to nap more than 1/2 hour at a time. Sometimes only twice a day. He's still sleeping ok at night :shhh: with only one waking (which DH does and I let him sleep an extra hour in the morning).
I really want to go & get him weighed & measured as it's been months since I've done that and I have absolutely no idea how heavy he is! But with me working full-time, it's hard to get time to go to the CYH office. DH might take him by himself or we'll go in my lunch hour... we'll see!
Anyway - must dash. Am about to copy this post in the other thread & then have my shower & off to bed. Probably need my next dose of painkillers by then too
Sorry for no personals - will try to get on over the weekend...
-
Hi girls! Been a heck of a long time since I checked in. I didn't realise how long untill I had to chase it through 6 thread renewals!!
Hope every one is well and so are bubs!
I really will try to be on here more regularly.
Lisa
-
Hi, just a quickie... I didn't get the story, SG, which is worrying me, cos perhaps there is a problem with it. Is this the one you tried: inaperfectworld@ymail.com
If it is, I'll have to check out the problem.
BB took down my thread until it can be approved. I wrote to BB and a couple of admin but I haven't heard anything back. I even emailed Kelly. I hope it will be put back up soon, I don't know what's going on.
-
Well...my boyo is full of surprises...
After his HUGE sleeps yesterday (3 1/2 hours morning, 3 1/4 hours arvo), he was very subdued today, to the point DH and I thought he was unwell...
Fell asleep on me when I was out for lunch and everything.
I checked his mouth for swelling etc, and nothing (at 6:30pm after bath).
Then at 7pm I couldnt get him to put his dummy in, put a glob on bonjella on the sooth his gums (which I assumed must have been hurting since be refused the dummy), and ouchies, sharp...
In 30 minutes, his bottom right tooth had surfaced!!!
-
Owies BW! Poor fella. Although, I reckon I'd take a 'subdued' day over a 'screaming tanty' day if he was cutting a tooth!
Fire - Let us know when you hear about the thread. I'll be interested in reading it! If it doesn't get approved, let us know and I'll PM my Email addy to you ;)
Lisa - welcome back! When you get a spare minute (huh!) give us an update!
-
Hi Fire and Nettie and Baby Wrangler!
Well, thanks for asking, Hunter is doing ok. He's abit behind you bubs, being a premmie. Doesn't roll yet, but loves to chew and smile and wiggle. We are having a rough trot with reflux and no longer sleeping through, but we get there. He gave me just long enough to get used to having a full nights sleep, then went back to 2-3 times a night.
No teeth yet, but his Paed said we might need to start solids soon.
How are your bubs going?
Well done on the teething! Hope bubs gives you plenty of peace and quiet, and doesn't grizzle too much.
:DLisa
-
We had a nightmare couple of MONTHS with teething. About four days ago his finally popped through the gum after an even more hellish couple of weeks. The second bottom one is about a day away if it follows the same pattern. His whole gumline is white and sore looking, I think he'll teethe in a big dose at once.
Still no word about the thread... he just woke, gotta run
-
We have teeth too!!
The first one came through about two weeks ago and wasnt too bad.
Poor miss MJ has been sick with UTI though and it seems is allergic to penicillian.. she came up in ahuge rash with 4 does of the anti b and it has now gone since starting non penicillain Anti b
Sound like everone bubs are doing fab!!
I think Mj is a bit behind my other twos girls developement, as Annika was crawling at this age and well Mj still cant sit up unassisted and only rolls...prob my fault as i dont put her down on the floor very often as its seems quite dangerous for her with my other two terrors in her face all the time.
-
Hey
Sorry, its been a while since ive poped in, i cant say its coz isabells been keeping me on my feet either...
The only person teething in this house is me...one of my wisdom teeth are cutting thru, surprisingly it doesnt hurt, just sharp :) but with the way isabells been the past few days, i wouldnt be surprised if she cut a tooth...but then it could also be a million and one other things...
I got "THe Wonder Weeks" the other day, and it is so amazing to know about all the fussy periods, and why they happen.
Our bubs are looking to have a clingy fussy period soon...and can lats for 4 weeks!!! Im horrified, i keep thinking that this is what isabell is experiencing, but then i think its not...its all so confusing.
Any way its coz at this stage bubs are realising that mummy can distance themselves from them, and bubs being immobile they get clingy and upset, but they usually start being mobile after this fussy period...
Isabell is spinning herself around when on her tummy, and trying to get her legs under her to get in the crawling position. And on occasion has moved .5 of a metre by slightly commando crawling.
But apart from all that not much happening with us lol. Trying to sell our house, which is annoying coz we are getting nowhere...and i really wanna move, like NOW lol...
Going to visit IL's on wednesday, good 2-3 hour trip, so hoping isabell sleeping thru it.
Oh my gosh! Isabell is sitting on my lap and litereally exploding!! Her poor bum!! Nappy time i think!! Eugh!
-
Hello! I'm new to the forums, thanks to my mum finding it for me :D
Our DS was born April 9 :) (6 days over) at 7lb 4oz.
Talking about teeth, I'm still waiting for Michael's bottom 2 to come through, well, move up to the gum at least! The dribble has been soaking his clothes for a couple months now and still nothing at all. Maybe soon, hopefully. Butterfly_Princess, I know how you feel about your wisdom tooth, I had one come down the other day, was surprised it didn't hurt me either, just really sharp like you said.
DS is coming along well. He will sit there unassisted for however long he will before he'll whinge or topple himself over onto his belly. Still not getting up on all fours but he does turn around in circles and push off things (like walls) with his feet to move forward. He is more interesting in jumping this past week though since getting the activity table off DP's mum, so all he wants to do is sit in that all the time now. I think it may be because he can move about in it rather than being stuck on his belly. He'll learn one day! He has also started with 'dadad' & the occasional 'dad' in the past week! Oh its so cute! But the squealing is driving me nuts, lol.
-
Hi Kitty! I love the talking at this age. He seems so passionate about whatever the heck it is he is ravign about with all the "nadaddaad daaad dadadada manadad!!"
Beatrix, I have found oil of oregano a godsend for infections and colds etc. Rub onto the feet, or if you are brave put a drop into some food or milk - it is really spicy and kinda burns a little when taken orally, but not for long. It kills EVERYTHING. In studies it has out performed all the antibiotics such as penicillin by quite a stretch. Good for ear infections and even cleaning the air (put into oil burner for that). One drop diluted in a teaspoon or less of coconut or olive oil wiped under the nose helps sinus too, and helps clear their blocked up noses.
Make sure it is the true wild oregano, there are many fakes out there.
-
Oh its great, hehe, I can't get enough of it. I'm trying everyday just to hear 'dad', but no matter how many times I say it I either get a squeal or just 'dadadadad'.
I might keep that in mind about the oil of oregano, I hate antibiotics. DS has only been on them once so far & that was for staph. I just don't want him to have any more antibiotics because I did hear once too much antibiotics makes their immune system weak.
-
hi everyone
fire that teething sounds awful. bet you're dreading the arrival of the rest of them now! we don't have any teeth yet but there has been some ferocious chewing going on so who knows...
kitty your ds sounds like he's coming along well. i don't think many babies canget up on all fours properly at this age - dd is doing it but only for a few moments at a time. ds used to get up and rock back and forth not knowing what to do next - it was so cute!
beatrix hope mj's all better now.
hi butterfly princess have you finished cleaning up izabell's nappy yet? good luck with that long drive, i haven't tried one of those yet but have some longer trips coming up.
dd is rolling around nicely, exploring all corners of the loungeroom. her sleeping is still incredibly hopeless - i won't bother going into it but i'm telling myself she's just SO interested in the world she doesn't want to miss anything... either that or she was sent to torture me. good thing she's so cute or she would have been returned to the hospital long ago!
on that note must go and begin the long process of attempting to get her to bed.
hi also to lisylee and nettie and anyone else i've missed.
-
Wow! All your bubbies are doing so well!!
Yesterday we got our first laugh!(cant stop him now!) And today we got our first roll over (kind-a). Unfortunatly it was while he was laying on our shop counter, but I got him before he fell off, if only he had waited till we got home and had some floor time. I some times wonder if having to run a business as well as raise him would be detrimental to his development. At least we know he's a "people" person. He loves chatting up the customers from his pozzy on the counter.
Does any one still have probs with the hernias? I remember before, when I joined this forum we all seemed to have umbilical hernias. Hunters has just about resolved now. It got up to the size of a 20cent piece.
No teeth yet...(thank heavens).. the reflux is enough, but the medication seems to be working. He's just hungry ALL the time, some times feeding hourly, The Paed wants us to try solids, ...easier said than done... he pushes it out of his mouth and then smooshes it everywhere, I'm still finding rice porrage on the sofa, my clothes, hair.......
Wishing Sleep to all:grouphug:
-
We tried solids, and I am back off them now as his cheeks reddened. I have him on an ultradose of probiotics and yeast killing again. He seemed ok on banana and pear, but I gave him organic brown baby rice and I think grains are too harsh on his little system yet. Solids are only for the taste at this age anyway... so I'm not too concerned.
His sleep is up ***** creek again as his second tooth hit the surface.
Boy oh boy o, I hate the first year! I love it, but I also hate it. Is that possible?
-
it's more for calories than taste, that we're on solids. because he's feeding so often, and feeding at night so often again.
-
Hi all
We tried some rice cereal on Monday night, Baxter's face said it all! Never again! The video DH took is priceless. So he had a little suck on an apple wedge and didn't mind it. I'll mash up some banana at lunchtime and see how he goes with that.
Sorry to you all with bubs still waking overnight, please don't hate me when I say that Baxter slept from 8.00pm til 7.00am last night....longest sleep ever, the past three mornings he's woken at 5.50am, only to come into bed with us and go back to sleep. Cheeky monkey!
Also, Happy Half Birthday Baxter! See my ticker. And to all our bubs too!
Going away for the weekend, we have a wedding in Mandurah, DH is in the bridal party and I am saying a reading, looking forward it.
Hope you are all well.
SG
xo
PS - no teeth yet, AND we are still wrapping! Argh!
-
OMG Shoegal! I'm from Rockingham!! (well Safety Bay to be exact!) Where are you??
Hunter slept thru 8pm till 6am for about a month then went back to 3 times a night... just when you think you've got them trained.....

Lisy, I'm 2 hours SE of Perth, in a tiny town you've probably never heard of!

Ha! try me! I know WA like the back of my hand!
DH is from Katanning too. (cant remember how to spell that, too tired)

You spelt Katanning right! Will PM you.

That's what you get when you are trying to think with a baby crying and you're dead tired!
I miss WA so much. Would love to have a BB friend back there. We seem to be very similar in circumstance. I took my angels down off my signature, so I could focus on Hunter, but there was one the same as yours up there.
-
Copied from other thread
Ok...well...I do apologise for being AWOL.
We are in teething hell at the moment.
My poor little fella has cut his first tooth with no hiccups, but the following ones are giving him a tonne of grief...
He wants his dummy, but it must hurt...wants a bottle, but spits it out, wants to sleep, but just can't settle, wants to be cuddle, but then arches his back when you sit with him (altitude disease!)
We've tried all I can think of at this stage:
Baltic Amber teething necklace (and bracelet)
Bonjela
SM33
Brauers Teething relief
Horleys teething tablets
cold things (including vegies, but he won't eat them cold
rusks
Chompy toys
Chomping on mummy
Panadol works as a last resort, but we don't want to do that too often.
People keep suggesting Nurofen, but I have an anaphylactic reaction to it so we don't want to risk that!
My last line of defense is trying to hunt down 2 of the TLISMI MOTI indian teething pendant (apparently 2 works better than one).
I've found them on ebay, but they will take 2 weeks to get here!
My sister is a nanny in london and the little fella she looks after is 12months old, cut his first 5 teeth, then a massive back molar, she said he had no dramas, and he wears 2 of the TLISMI MOTI pendants....
I just need to find some in Oz.
