hehe abs - you just wanted to be first in the new thread!!
Sorry I've been MIA this week, it's been a busy one. My little man has been sick since last night. He was fine yesterday afternoon but fussed a little at bedtime. When I went in to check on him before I went to bed at about 10, I got such a fright. He had vomited in his bed, but was sound asleep. I had to wake him up to clean him up, it was everywhere. He vomited a few times after that before going back to sleep about 11.45. I kept him with me for the night and he was fine when he woke up this morning - at 5am mind you. Today tho, he's had a temp & been quite grumpy. I'm pretty sure the temp is coz of his teeth, but if he's still like it 2moro, it's off to the doctors for us.
In other news this week, Josiah had his first day at daycare on Tuesday. They said he did well, but I have a feeling he cried quite a bit coz his voice was a bit hoarse when I got home. He's going again on Monday so we'll see how he goes. I think it'll be good for him, he's such a mummy's boy at the moment. Well, mum, dad and my dad anyway - anyone else gets more than a little cry. Marks mum wont look after him anymore coz he cries too much for her. You wouldn't think she's had 7 kids and 6 grandkids! He's not going to daycare every week yet, just occasional days, but we'll make it regular after christmas I think.
Happy 7 months to everyone celebrating atm. hehe, you're all celebrating 7 months, and Josiah has only just gone 6!
Anyway, enough about me, I'm off to bed I think. Have a good weekend everyone.
Bel- oh poor Josiah, i hope he is a bit better today.
we're off to swimming thismorning. Nixon tried broccoli yesterday, he loved that too 9was secretly hoping he wasnt keen cause i hate it!!)
hmm Nixon is starting to make me get up to him 4-5times a night to re-adjust him/dummy back in. i was thinking if he is going to start doing that with his dummy maybe it is time to try getting rid of it (oh he would hate me for it i am sure) but his 2 teeth are still coming up and he has just been so grizzly/clingy & upset im kind of hoping that will stop when they are all the way through........
it's been quiet in here how was everyone's weekend ??
ours was so so boring just the way i like it
looks like ryan's top teeth are popping through he has been attacking anyone or anything that crosses in front of his face scary when he already has 2 teeth that i know are very sharp his bitten me 3 times now while feeding him ouch ....
Hi Shazz,
yeah it has been cery quiet in here!
had a pretty boring weekend aswell. DH was in Perth working, came home sat arvo.
He does freight forwarding (not sure if i have said this b4) & brings in bands equiptment when they tour oz. anyway he was in perth doing Billy Joel & got to have a beer with him!!
Nicers- Charlie went thru a stage of having to put his dummy in about 15 times a night - lasted about a week, now he is going good. That is awesome about your Dh. My brother and SIL are going to Billy Joel on Friday night in melbourne - I'll have to tell me SIL about your husband - she loves Billy Joel! Hope nixon's teeth come thru soon for you!
Shazz - It is quite in here!
I have been in geelong all weekend - done some great shopping - had a ball! i wish we had those shops here in portland!
Charlie was sooo funny yesterday - my brother and his wife have a little jack russell and charlie thought he was soo funny he laughed for about and hour staright coz the little puppy would run up to him and then run away - he was so cute!
I am trying to get hold of a christmas bobble ball that hangs on the tree with charlies name on it - any idea were i could get one - I want one for charlies first christmas, so we can have it for the rest of his life. Any one got any ideas were i cna get one????
Hope everyone had a lovely weekend.
Hi Abs - Just wanted to say hi, I say hi to you nearly every day so thought i would say hi.
Hope jordy is sleeping a bit better for you
Sorry I dont get around to posting too often these days, I am always lurking and thinking of you all though!
Jacci - I am the same with the Christmas Bauble for the tree. I dont know about individual name ones but you can get Baby's First Christmas ones from both Target (I think they are Hallmark ones) and Myer (these were quite funky) I am making it a family tradition that on Christmas Eve we go driving to look at all the houses that go all out with the lights and decorations.
Speaking of Christmas - it's so soon! I am so totally excited - Christmas just has a whole new level of fun and excitement about it with a child around (even if she is too young to understand!) I think I've finished all her present shopping, she's so totally spoilt and will probably get more of a kick outta the wrapping paper and boxes!!
Bel - Hope your little man is doing better. Doesnt it just break your heart when they arent well?
Amber has terrible Nappy Rash at the moment. I have tried Curash, Paw Paw Cream, Bepanthen and Sudocrem - none worked. I got some Daktozin from the chemist and that hasnt worked either so I think I'll take her to the CHN or Dr tomorrow. Trying to give her lil' bum as much air time as possible - without making too much of a mess!!
Anyone getting severley clucky yet? We were originally going to wait until Amber was at least 3 before thinking about TTC again, but geeez I dont think I can wait that long. It's been cut back to 2 years now - so looking forward to that (but dont want my bubba to grow up toooo fast!)
Anyway, hope all the other bubs are going well, I just love looking at all the pics of them - they are just gorgeous! You should all be very proud of your efforts - give yourselfves a pat on the back
Jacci, I think you can get them at Myer - I know the last few years they've had someone decorating the baubles with any name you want. If not, you could buy the bauble and find someone crafty to do it for you - my aunty did them for us one year.
Start my new job tomorrow so off to bed for me, it's been a long weekend. Josiah ended up with gastro and not keeping anything down which was horrible, but he's a lot better now and eating again. To add to it, he cut another tooth (#3) on the weekend, so he had the temp and runny nose that went with that.
Be in 2moro night to do personals - have a great day
Oh poor lil Josiah, hope he's feelin better Bel. Good luck tomorrow, hope it goes smoothly.
Yikes Nickers, I'm kinda glad Holly refuses a dummy, hehe.
Ouch Shazz, hmm still waiting for Holly's 2 top teeth, after grizzles, temps, runny poos & nose, nappy rash, & a screaming fit for hrs last Sat night, still waiting, hehe. Her poos are getting more gluggy again so assume they're not coming thru this time.
That's a great idea Jacci & Sooz. I'd like to do that too.
Sooz, i'm still having nappy rash issues here, just when I think it's clearing up it goes all red again, but have managed to get rid of most of the broken skin/blisters.
Hmm, Jordy is sleeping soo much at the moment - not necessarily at night, but doing doubles and triples (ie 2 and 3x40mins) quite often. After being up at 6.30-8.30am on Sat morning, he then was back down for a triple til 10.30 - Jen & I had a great lie in
Hope the new job went well today Bel
Susan, there was mention of a good nappy rash cure method earlier - was it Jacci who wrote it - is probably in the previous April thread. We went out for a little drive on Saturday and went to have arvo tea at a coffee shop. As we were walking out a lady was going through the door just before us so held it open - she was saying to me "I'm not getting clucky, I'm not getting clucky" as she was looking at our little boy. We still dunno if we'll go again - but still have 9 embies in the freezer
Has been a wet weekend here in Sydney, so inside most of the time, looks like it'll be raining off and on for the rest of the week too. We were hoping for a bit of a get-together with the parents group tomorrow at one of the houses, but seems most already had something planned - ah well. Jen & I will just probably stay here. Turns out one of the others is only a block or so away - Siobhan often walks to the local shops "just to get out of the house/unit" - Jen emailed her saying come on over if you want... so we might have the occasional visit. It was her schoolfriend that did Jordy's B&W pics recently
And having lots of fun with the solids feeding here - NOT. He just doesn't seem interested in it... I keep telling Jen to leave it for a few days and then try again instead of turfing 80+% of it out each time
Better get back to work :P Hope everyone is having a good day
I just did a google search for 'personalised christmas baubles' & found some, $13-14 each, look lovely. Only prob is they're glass, so if they drop off the tree they might smash, not sure I like that idea though.
Bel - I hope that Josiah is feeling better!! How is yuor new job going??
Jacci - you can get the balls from Myer, you can have up to 15 characters on them I think so his name and then on the other side, they have babies first Christmas. I collect Swarovski crystal and they make a star every year, so I am going to buy one for tyron.
Did you want to borrow his suit??
Mitch - I have been getting AF every 3 weeks, I went to the doctor and if it doesn't sort itself out soon, I will have to have a D&C!!
Abs - good luck on the daycare, I was going to put Tyron in, but now family look after him 2 days a week, later on I will put him in a dy a week though.
Theresa - I hope Georgie is getting better, it is horrible when they are sick!!
Food - well yoghurt makes Tyron sick everytime, so I am not giving it to him until he is 12 months, egg whites are also a definite no until then. I have been reading this book called the Additive Alert, it is freaking me out what we put in our food and babies, chemicals that cause deformities, ADD, ADHD, asthma, exzema etc.. so I am really watching what I feed Tyron, you wouldn't believe how many things are put in food, I highly recommend the book for anyone that is worried about what is in food nowadays!!!
Abs- So you gonna put some money on GEORDIELAND tomorrow for Melbourne Cup!! Sooz- yeah someone mentioned a nappy arsh cure (i cannot remember if it was in this thread or June) but was it egg white? letting it dry on??
Jacci-I've just ordered a christmas ball from identity direct online. does anyone else get those flyers with personalised stuff? i ordered a couple of things this one you pick the colour of the ball. name on it & it also has 2006. $12.95
then u pay for postage but if u get a few things not so bad.
ok i am really getting over this waking at night business (sorry for those who still do & are used to it) but Nixon has been sleeping through gradually getting longer since 2 months old. Last night i was up 5 times DH once. in the end i gave him a bf one side but i really think it was more of a comfort feed then being hungry.....
And Jacci his two teeth have cut through, they both did so about a week ago but are coming up really slowly. One of the boys in MG cut his first tooth only a few days ago & is already up further that Nixon's two..... so i am just hoping this is why he is so unsettled through out the nights.
a couple of times i was wondering if he was having bad dreams? cause he was still asleep but crying?? then the other times he was wide awake and wanted to play./....
Hi Nic, yeah, though I wasn't certain on the spelling - thinking "Jordyland"... will do a run to the shops tomorrow I think (now to find the local TAB)
Lisa, how much Swarovski do you have ?? I went to the Austrian centre in '93 on a contiki tour... bought a few things there. Over the last couple of years I have bought a number of pieces for Jen (all fish related):
Telescope fish - this was dropped and broke - they were unable to fix it
crab
all 3xcoloured fighting fish
she got the sea horse as a pressie
and there's a couple of others too - including a bunch of pink roses
I got 2 of the cats for last xmas
Oh and we gave Jordy some yoghurt just before - he loved it. Was all about making him see the spoon first. Rather than making faces at him with our mouths open etc
Abs - I think I have about 75 pieces, I got my first one when I was 13 and have been collecting ever since (much to my DH distress, he thinksthey are a waste of money!!). I went to Austria in 2004 and visited the factory, bought myself some nice pieces there too!
