The bag doesnt stop Jordy from rolling. About all it does is stop him from sticking his feet out the side of the cot and thus "trapping" his legs when he wants to move or turn
You melbournians etc can keep that heat. Nice mid 20's here in Sydney today... very pleasant, just wait Nickers
-
what size is it jacci?
how is Charlie's thrush? how did u know thats what it was?
-
nickers - I have loaded a picture of the sleeping bag on charlies www. It goes up to a size one - it is really loong so you would get a bit of use out of it. plus great for when your out about coz the seat belt goes thru it so you don't have to take them out if. When i bought it the lady said just to put a nappy and singlet under neath it.
I took Charlie to the MCHN to get it checked out and she told me it was thrush.
-
Charlie sleeping bag doesn't stop him from rolling or standing either, nickers! Lol! Just wanted to warn you!
-
Mitch I hope your DH is ok!
happy 9mths ti everyone who has reached it!
been mia lately so busy with my AVON and trying to keep this house clean and trying to start my mortgage broking business!
I gotta go Im not even dressed yet and it is nearly 10am omg Im hopeless will catch up soon just wanted to say hi!
-
becky i only just finished getting dressed just now so your not the only one!
i'll check it out jacci about to head off for a bit.
i do or did have a sleeping bag for Nixon but ive looked everywhere for it and dont know where it got to, it had the sleeping bag hole through it also which i found great if we went out at night just put him in it before we were leaving then straight to bed.
-
well it's 11.30 and I haven't had a shower yet - we were up soo many times overnight. Since he can now stand in his cot, he wakes and gets up rather than staying down and going back to sleep
So I was up again at 6.30 waiting for him to go back to sleep.... he eventually did but I was awake and didnt wanna shower then and wake Jen etc up
Oh and he slept til 8.45 ! Jen did too - she felt a million times better with that sleep in
-
abs - to stop charlie from standing up at night i tuck him in fairly tight and then get 2 towels and push them down inbetween the matress and the cot sides - that way he can't wriggle out of his sheets - works great for me - he has been standing up in his cot for over a month now and i have just wrked this out!
-
Jacci... does that stop him pulling the sheets out???... might have to try that with my wee monster...
-
Mitch - he tries to roll and if that doesn't work he tries to push the sheets down with his hads and crawl out - hasn't been able to escape yet!
-
Will deffinatley try that then... Alexa kicks her legs like mad till she kicks them right off!!!!!! little monkey...
mind you she thrashes her arms & legs around to stop herself going to sleep!!!!!
-
hmm may have to try it to Jacci, but not sure i know exactley what u mean that u do?? nixon always kicks his legs up and down till the sheets are off. They turn in the cot (well nixon does) by rolling onto his side then he pushes with his feet off the side of the cot, after a few goes of that he will be facing the other way. Then he will decide to roll and carry on!
Ohh remember when we used to wrap them tightly, put them down and they'd be in the exact same position after a good nights sleep!
did the dummest thing today. I had a 2hr pamper package which iw as using from my bday in August. well i forgot about it till half an hr after i was suppose to be there and i was out with Nixon... doh.... Dh was gonna have nixon (cause still off work this week) and take him to his paed appointment....
made another booking for 3 weeks time but its on a sat now and i had to take Nixon to his paed appoint! Stupid me!!
-
nicers - i tuck charlies sheets in then i roll up a towel and push it inbetween the cot sides and the matress and then i do the same on the other side - coz towels aren't smooth like sheets - it causes friction and charlie can't get the sheets out no matter how much he kicks. Charlie is great when he is asleep its just getting him to go to sleep in his cot.
-
I'm thinking that won't work for my Charlie coz the only way he self settles is if he can roll all over his cot. He rolls around, finds a comfy possie then gets himself back to sleep. If I tuck him in tightly that won't work!
Mind you, he hasn't worked out how to pull himself to standing in the cot yet, just on furniture and mummy!
-
hmm, we'd hear no end of complaints/screams from him I reckon if we tried that Jac
damn, gotta go - he was asleep in his pram til I was about to start typing on this line - byeeee
-
just telling you what works for me. Abs - why don't you doi it once he is actually asleep - that way if he wakes up in the night he won't be able to stand up so might go back to sleep - either way you can't loose out you might as well try anything - your getting up in the middle of the night anyway.
-
Hello everyone.
Just a real quick fly by post as I head to bed.
DH got the job in Bundaberg and has to be there by the 9th of Feb. So if I'm a bit scarce between now and the middle of Feb its just cause we are going to be busy packing & unpacking at the new place.
Its been a long 3 days, drove up monday DH had his interview & got the job, tuesday was doing everyone's cuts & colours, then looked at 3 places this morning then turned around and drove back home at 12 today. So I'm a wee bit tired and will be heading to bed. Hope to get back on in the next few days to catch up with everyone.
-
Hello everyone,
sorry I've been mia for a while, had a few days off work and seemed to somehow have less time on my hands than I do when I'm at work! I have been dropping in to read the threads though. I can't believe our bubs are all almost 9 months. Olivia is great and keeping me on my toes, also constantly rolling over in her cot, so at the moment I'm up several times a night to put her back under her covers and give her her dummy.
I hope everyone is well, will pop in again soon.
Kelli

Kell, you might need to use Jac's little bed trick ;)
Jac, its cool - we're fine. He smiles such a huge grin when either of us go in that it's all worth it regardless of how much cursing and swearing we might have done before seeing him. And I've sent my weight to you... if only I had a decent set of scales instead of this old dodgy one
Congrats to DH on the new job Amy
Sush, happy 9 months for your Charlie for 2 days ago and also to Nixon for yesterday
-
Hi _ I am at work all day so will email bigest losers tonight!
Charlie was up at 3am this morning and there was no way of getting him back to sleep - i am so tired! - even he is tired - when i left to come to work him and DH were asleep on the couch.
Happy 9 months ladies!
-
Happy 9months to all our beautiful babies, Olivia is still 12 days off and counting!! It's been so quiet in here today, I hope everyone is ok will pop back in tomorrow to say hello!!
Abs,
I may have to look at trying Jacci's tip to keep Olivia in bed! Last night she slept through without moving, fingers crossed it continues..
-
hi there.
charlie slept thru last night - it was great! he even slept till 7.30am - that is great for him!!!!
-
charlie hit the buttons and it sbumitted!!!
QST - Who's baby can hold there own bottle - charlie can't, but his little girlfriend was over here the other day and she can hold hers.
-
Alexa doesnt hold her bottle... but she will hold food LOL.....
Still not sleeping at night (even tried Jacs secret .. she still got out of that... strong little mite) .. but she has 2 bottom teeth coming through (how many more to go.... argh), so she stayed at my mums last night so I could get come sleep as she was up all night on wed!!!!! At least Jeff is coming home tonight & he can entertain her for awhile LOL...
Have a happy day guys
: )
-
Charlie can hold his bottle and sippy cup. He's also almost all day on his hands and knees now, getting peevish about not figuring out how to move forward! Lol!
-
Jordy often holds his own bottle - this morning at 5.30 he was doing it one handed. Of course my hand was not far from it as he does occasionally want to grab something else
-
charlie holds his sipper cup and uses his hands for everything - but he won't hold his bottle - i think he likes the fact that i feed it to him - little bugger!
-
Nixon holds his own bottles now, most of the time with the handles (uses the avent bottle and they have handles u can buy)
-
i have avent bottles nickers - i might go get the handles for them.
-
no handles needed for the avent bottles here... we stopped using em a while back
-
Oh dear Mitch, hope ur DH is ok.
Know the feelin Jac. I'm sure Charlie will be fine, once he gets settled in, Holly loves day care. Holly has had thrush at least twice, from her teething poos. This time, it looks very red (only after a runny poo), but doesn't look thrushy, but still putting canesten on it when looks really red. Oh & I finally got my payrise, yay.
Hehe Abs, Holly hasn't learnt that yet, touch wood. I stopped using her sleepin bag earlier due to warmer weather, now just dress her accordingly, however will go back to usin it when gets colder.
Nickers, Holly's sleeping bag didn't stop her cot mobility either. She sleeps fine with nothing on her, sometimes i'll loosly sit a sheet on her.
Bec, I wouldn't worry, sounds like most of us do it sometimes hehe.
Awesome Amanda.
Yeah Holly's been holding her's for a few mths now, I started teaching her coz our friends 2nd bub was already doing it & 6wks older, I didn't even realise u could teach them so young, so just kept putting her hands on it & persisting, took a few wks but worked. She just can't seem to get the knack of holding her bottle or sippy cup up high enough if she's sitting up straight, so lay her back in high chair, or on floor or in pram.
She graps her spoon frequently too, but I've made the mistake a few times of letting her have it & she waves it around everywhere & gets food everywhere, hehehe, so for the moment, I'm holding it for her.
9wk4d obgyn visit today, measuring a little undersize (3-7days), but so was Holly (2days). Just added pics to www (will update 'Milestones' too). :)
NT scan is at 9am Fri 16Feb (13wk4d) & get images & DVD (as booked in with another sonographer), yay, last time we didn't get a DVD as they didn't have the facilities.
-
Hello everyone,
Jacci, I'm so glad Charlie slept through the night for you, it makes such a difference when you get unbroken sleep, we have the Avent bottles, as yet Olivia doesn't hold her own bottle but we also have the Avent sipper cups with the handles that fit onto the bottles as well and she does hold these most of the time, well atleast tries anyway! Hehehehehe
Shell, I hope your Obgyn visit went well today!
Mitch, I do hope Alexa's sleeping improves, I work from 4:00pm-Midnight and when Olivia was up all night I was really struggling as I never got any sleep and it certainly doesn't help if your DH is away all the time. Does she sleep during the day?
I hope everyone is well!!!
-
mitch - it is great that your parents can have her for a night to give you a well deserved break, hope you handballed the nightshift over to Jeff when he got home!!
Shell - good luck with the scans and everything - charlie messured under all the way thru by atleast a week, - Also I didn't know you could teetch them to hold there own bottle i am going to try and teach him.
WEll it is quite in my house - which means charlie is up to something - better go check it out - the joys of crawling!

love ur new ticker pic Jacci!
we went to Tenacious D last night and a neighbour baby sat Nixon. It was great but it was so hot at the venue. jack Black is hilarious, i felt sorry for them though it would have been even hotter on stage with all the lights on them.
Shell- just checked out your new pics, how exciting to see bubs! are u getting the 4d images? great to get a vid so u can watch whenever u feel like seeing bubs
-
Nickers - what a great job dh must have - you seem to get to go see everyone! Jack Black is so funny. I can only imagine what he is like on stage!!
-
Oooh awesome Nickers, sounds like u had fun. I noticed ur TTC ticker changed, everythin ok? Holding off bit longer hey. :)
Hehe Jacci, I thought the same, so been learning a few things from my g/friend.
Yeah I'm not concerned, & obgyn just said he'd get sonographer to double check dates at next scan, but not concerned either. It took longer to get the same BT results for #2 than it did with Holly, so implantation was obviously later (&/or ovulation).
Yep everything going smoothly & preggy symptoms are: the runs/cramps (yuk), occas nausea, tiredness, hunger (hehe).
4D: I hope so Nickers, we couldn't last time as at the time of the scan, I had a contraction in my uterus so wasnt enuf room around Holly to get 4D to work, so got 3D with her. :)
-
yeah everythings ok, AF arrived a few days ago (wasnt dissapointed cause i figured as such) Dh and i are just have different opinions about ttc at the moment due to the fact we are moving back to sydney, trying to sell our house then either build or renovate in Sydney...its all going to be very hectic.
So im not ruling it out but im also not going to get to hung up on the idea as much as i'd love to lol!
-
