Hi all well I can't remember if I told you guys we went to the clinic last thursday declan was 10.25kg and 73cms
For those of you that bf and have now stopped do your bb's still produce milk because mine do it is a real pain in the bum because I can smell it! and it this heat it is not nice!
-
Get well soon Bel, sounds like u'll need all the strength u can get, having 2 kids running about shortly.
Mitch, the next scan is Tue 27Mar 4pm, 2 days after DH's b'day & wk b4 Holly's. If bub's position is right, should be able to confirm then.
Becky, yeah it took a few wks from memory, I eased off slowly.
Abs hope that tooth comes thru & stops givin Jordy grief.
How's Nixon Nickers?
-
Becky- yeah my bb's still had milk and actually its been about 6 weeks and although they dont leak there is still a bit in there!
Shell- Nixon has a viral/gastro bug. Took him to the docs this arvo when i had my BT. All he has had today has been a total of about 250ml milk and little bits of water here and there. I thought he was going ok today even though he didnt want food or much fluid he hadnt thrown up. But tonight he was getting upset and i said ok we'll get you to bed, i stood up with him and as i did he did a massive spew. poor boy must have hurt him because he was crying after it.
So i cleaned him (and me) up gave him some panadol and held his hand to sleep. Ive put spew rags down on the bed this time so if he vomits i can just replace it.
He did a few mustard like runny poos today also but hasnt had many wet nappy's because he just hasnt had or kept down the fluid.

Morning all.
Well i got charlie into daycare one day a week which is great coz i am working mondays and he goes in all day on mondays, was really hard to get him in as ther are only 2 daycare places in portland!
He got weighed and mesured.
Weight 11.9kg - he has put only 400grm on in 4 months - he was 11.5kg at 7 month check up
Height 81cm
anyway best go get ready for work - having a training day at my new job for a few hours
will do personals later
Jac
-
it has been about 10 weeks since I stopped feeding Declan and I still have milk!
-
Happy 10 months Charlie! Good news about the daycare Jac, and with the weight gain, it's only normal that it slows down, especially seeing he grew so fast to start with. Gosh, Janae's almost 4 and she's only 17kg!! But then, she's a skinny little thing.
Nickers, hope Nixon is feeling better today, poor little man.
Becky, yeah mine hung around for a few months, but after the first couple of weeks it wasn't enough to leak, only if I was silly enough to squeeze...hehe
Home sick again today, although I'm picking Janae up from kindy to spend some time with her. Now it's mainly my sinuses all clogged up, which is not as bad as a sore throat, but sounds terrible when you should be answering the phone - hence the day off.
Josiah has decided his standing is not for anyone else to see, if he catches us watching him, he'll hold on to something or sit down. When he doesn't know we're watching he'll stand on his own for ages! Cheeky monkey
Hope everyone is having a good day, I'm back to bed - Josiah decided he'd wake up at 1.30 for about an hour and a half...speak soon
Bel
ETA Glad to hear Theresa is about, was just thinking about her and the girls...
-
Morning all,
Bel, sorry to hear you're feeling unwell, though I hope you get to spend an enjoyable day with Janae despite the foggy head. How clever of J to be standing on his own!
Becky, wow I can't believe you're still producing milk. I am trying to wean C off his day feeds and only keep his morning and night feeds, but am not having much success. In fact since I've been trying to limit him, it seems he wants the bb more than ever!
shell, the 27th of March isn't too far away. I can't wait to hear if it's been confirmed that it's another pink bundle.
As for me, C had a weigh and measure at the MCHN yesterday, and is now 9.1kgs and 75cm long. My sister brought her DD in with me and Chiara, at 21 months, is only 11kgs! Jacci, your Charlie is heavier than her! Lol! She isn't skinny though, just very short (like her mum, my sis, who is 4ft and a bit)
C is now madly cruising furniture, trying to stand on his own (without much success) and getting into absolutely everything! Nothing is safe from him!
-
Jacci- i know ive said it b4 but cant beleive how Tall Charlie is! he must have leaned out a lot seings his length has grown a lot but not his weight.
Sushee- Nixon and charlie are the same length, Nixon was 9.9kg, i feel after a few days of being sick he may even drop a little weight. He was still not interested in solids thismorning, i will still offer them but if he doesnt feel well the last thing u want to do it eat. He did have his whole bottle thismorning so that was good. he did end up waking up a few times and just wanted cuddles. Anyway dh came home feeling off yesterday and about an hr after dinner started vomitting, so i ahve 2 sick boys at home today and trying to avoid all the germs!
Bel- i hope u feel better soon too.
becky- when u stopped feeding was it regular feeds then to nothing? because when i stopped for the previous 3-4weeks i had got down to only 1 feed a day. Now i am pg again though i guess the liquid will always stay in there, with Nixon i started leaking at about 20weeks pg.
Hi Abs. Shell, any,Kel, Mitch,Sooz,Theresa,Lisa,Shazz, Amanda and anyone else i ahve missed.
-
I gradually weened him so I thought it would all have gone but no!
-
he is really long! - but he is alot skinnier than he was. The health nurse said he is good now - not fat anymore - (thankgod he was a budda boy for a while!!!) one of my firends has a 15 month old and charlie is the same height as him and weighs the same - i go through close like there going out of fashion!!! I might have to sell some on ebay i think.
-
jacci let us know if you do esp if there is any pumpkin patch! speaking off which have u guys checked out there new range!?
-
yes Bec i received the catelogue a few days ago its nice isnt it!
-
mmm, might have to check that out becky, although I have to admit I haven't had to buy Josiah very many clothes at all - we get my baby brothers hand-me-downs which is very helpful to say the least. Although now they're moving 3 1/2 hours away, I may not get them so often.
Trying a new meal with Josiah tonight. It's just chicken mince, mashed pumpkin and grated zucchini in wonton wrappers & steamed - but he loves finger food, so I'll see how he goes. Janae had great fun making them, hopefully she'll eat them too - little fusspot.
Better go bring the washing in - I tell you, being home sick is no fun, but when you have to still do the housework - that sucks even more!
-
I will stick my hand up if anyone is going to sell girls clothes..... Alexa is still in 00 & some 000 !!!!!
I reckon you guys have so much better baby clothes than over here... all the really cool & cute stuff is so dear & otherwise the reealistic priced stuff is boring LOL...
Alexa has #6 tooth thru now & # 7 on the way....
Better go it is nearly 11.30!!!!!! WAYYYY past my bed time LOL
-
Hey everyone,
We had to take Bear to the Dr today - she's grizzly temp 39deg and generally unhappy.
He couldnt find anything now we need to get a urine sample - anyone got any bright ideas on how to do this?!
Ta ;)
-
Hi Everyone
Susan.. Hope Amber is feeling better soon. There was a thread a while back about urine sample tips Here
Mitch.. Abbey is still in 00 too, at least they are getting their wear out of the clothes lol
Bel... Hope your feeling better soon
Shell.. Congrats on your scan and on it maybe being another pink one!
Sorry I have been MIA, so busy still. I will pop on tomorrow for more personals
-
susan - didn't they give you a abg to stick on her to get a urine sample?? this is what they did for charlie.
Mitch - can't help you much on the girls clothes!!!!
-
mitch my cousin often sell stuff on ebay maybe try looking on the aussie ebay there is lots of bargains and postage wouldn't be too much to NZ
-
Hi all my hubby plays football for his local club as does my cousins partners anyway my cousins are both due to have a baby this year and I want to get their bubs and declan a club gurnsey they are the same colors at North Melb Kangaroos but are the turners beach seagulls any how I was wondering if anyone knows of anywhere that sell that size (ie 00 0 or 1 even 2's) tops not AFL ones though I want to get the bubs last names and their daddys no. embroided/printed on them! thought it would be an awesome present for them! and their dads would love it! but I have no clue where to go to get them! I guess i really want the long sleeve type as well being as it will be winter but short would be ok just where a while skivy under it or something
-
now its my turn to do MIA... oops
Becky, Jen got some tops from a mob in new zealand called "simply colours". Add the usual co nz to the end of the company name to get their website. They have ALL sorts of stuff including at least rugby tops, but might have AFL type ones too
-
Hello to everyone,
Sorry I've been MIA for a while, extremely busy at the moment..Olivia is doing great and turns 10 months next week (where has time gone)? She is crawling all over the place, she also loves pulling herself up onto everything and eating everything is sight!
Jacci,
It's great you got Charlie into daycare, it must be a nightmare with only 2 childcare facilities in town, they must be inundated with bookings. Did you have him on the waiting list long? I'm lucky I work nights so I don't have to worry about childcare, Olivia does go to creche at the gym everyday though which she loves!
Bel,
It's great you get your baby brothers hand me downs, would make life so much easier them being a few months apart. How did Josiah go with the Wontons?
Susan,
when the girls were little the doctor gave us a sticky bag to place over that area under their nappy so the next time they did a wee the bag filled up, worked a treat! The doctor should have given you one??
Becky,
what a wonderful idea the jumpers are, I'm sure Kmart over here sell the footy jumpers without numbers and names on them, I will have a look next time I'm there. There is also a place in Brunswick I used to get made to order sporting tops, I will suss it out.
Hi to Abs, Nickers, Lisa, Shell, Amanda and everyone else I forgot!!
KelliC
-
susan- let us know how Amber is doing and if u managed to get a urine sample.
nixon is going back to the docs thismorning as he is still sick. he is still off his food and having less then half of his fluids. i was getting concerned yesterday after day 4 in a rp\ow of this, still vomitting and diahorea. the only thing that puts my mine at ease is most of the time he is generally happy. anyway i think he's lost about 1/2 a kg since the weekend so although he is still chubby and healthy just need to keep on top of it.
-
Kelli I would appreciate that!
abs thanks for that site they don't do split colors by the looks but still a great site for pressies and not too badly price either
-
ah okay Becky... bugger on the colours
Qst for all: How many sleeps is bubs doing ?
Jordy is changing his routine big time, he still gets up around 5.30 for quick nappy & bottle and back to bed for usually 1:20 or 2hrs (multiples of 40mins)
But trying to get him to sleep beyond that, bar maybe one sleep during the day is getting MUCH harder
-
morning all
Becky - i coach the Agrade footy netball over here and i have been looking everywere for a collingwood jumper in charlies size - so if you find them let me know!!
Kelli - actually a bit dodgy how i got in to daycare - one of my bestfriends runs the childcare so i sort of got bumped up the list - well they took the non working mothers out and gave one of there spots to me.
Abs - charlie has changed - hegets up at 8am then has a sleep at 9.30 - 10am for 1/2 hour then at about 3 pm he'll sleep till 6pm then back in bed at 8.30
Nicers - let us know how you go at the doctors.
-
Alexa only has a sleep about 10.30am ish & that is sometimes only an hour & then another sleep around 3.30 - 4.30 ish... for an hour max.....
sometimes she only has about 2 hours sleep for the whole day ...
Once she wakes in the morning.. she is up & ready for action LOL... no more have a bottle & back to sleep for her.... she might miss out on something LOL
-
There is a place around the corner from me Tas clothing company they do uniforms work and school I have noticed netball skirts so I will have to check it out I have to walk around to the shop so I might drop in there and ask today.
Re sleep declan is 9-7 with anywhere from 2-10 wakes during that time then back down between 9-10 for anywhere from 45mins to 2 hours then back between 2:30 and 3:30 for usually an hour but can be more depening on how long the morning sleep was speaking of sleep declan just woke up
bye
-
Just a note...
Alexa has her Official first black eye!!!!!
She had a bump this morning.... From mummy hitting her head with the car door ... man did I feel bad.. poor wee monkey...
Then today my friend & her 17mo are looking after her for me... & silly ole Alexa decided to charge after Harry & follow him down the porch step & landed on the concrete, so mow apparently she has a black eye & graze to match my bump on her head!!!!! ah the joys of a mobile baby...
Wonder what Jeff is gonna think of his battered & bruised daughter when he gets home tomorrow night!!!!!
-
mitch - I remember charlis first black eye - i had him in a tube and was zzoming him around on the wet grass - he was loving it- then he rolled out and smacked his eye - you should of seen me trying to tell gav - i felt like the worst mum.
Becky - let me know how you go
*****Charlie is now standing in the middle of the room all by himself - yesterday he stood there for about 10 seconds i stand him up and then just let him go and he stand there - he looks so little!! - i hope he doesn't start walking soon!!!******
-
MItch- poor alexa and her grazing and black eye. i imagine u felt terrible, probably worse then she did actually!
Nixon usually has 2 sleeps during the day that range from 40min-2hrs. Sometimes though he only has one sleep 1-1 1/2hrs.
Jacci- well clever Charlie, 10seconds is a ling time! i cant beleive he could be walking soon.
Docs appiont- Doc said i have been doing everything right and continue doing it. She said he did look a bit worse then when she seen him on monday and he is mildly dehydrated. He has lost 6-7% of his body weight which isnt a huge concern but keeping an eye on it. I had to get a poo sample! ok so it would be easier to collect then a urine sample but not when he has diahorea. After we left docs i had to go to office works, whilst in there he did his thing, so i changed him in the car thought mose well take this straight back to the docs, TMI warning- so gross i had to scrape a small amount into a little container, easy if it was solid, no so easy when runny. The smell almost made my vomit!
anyway done now, takes 3 days to get back but just testing for a few things.
-
Nickers & Jacci.. I did feel awful... but I feel worse for my friend... she is doing me a favour by looking after Lexy & it is the first time she has looked after her & she ends up with a black eye......
I guess thats what happens when you try & copy a baby that is 5 months older than you & can actually walk & go down stairs LOL
Nic... Hope Nixon is ok & gets better soon.. poor wee fella...
Jac... Yay for Charli.. look out your in for trouble LOL....
-
mitch - oh dear declan had a black eye too when he was just starting to do the crawl and flop thing hit his eye on the half I don't know who cried more I took pictures of it for him for a boy that will be a great thing to have one day hahahaha u will have to take some war wound pics of alexa
Jacci - just got back from my walk no luck there I still have a few more places to try yet!
-
ouchies, yikes on the eyes
Double uh-oh to Jac now he can start to stand on his own
And ta heaps for the sleep info, speaking of which, I'm sooo looking forward to an arvo nap. Woke at 2.15, and mostly awake since. Maybe 30mins in total since then, and that was after not going to bed til 11pm since my brother is in town for a conference for a few days - we had a yummy bbq&salad for dinner. Simon reckoned the marinated steak was heaps better than some of the $30&$40 ones hes had - I made the marinade myself :D
Oh and tomorrow is the 1yr anniversary of Toby passing... do you think I can get a half decent price for a flight down... (looking at near $500 for half decent times) apparently nearly all the others will be at my sisters "just coz". If only I'd been given more notice to be there :(
-
Abs - Penny will know how much you are thinking about her.
-
ta Jac
I've written a poem for her that I am about to send. The first letter of each line spells out his name (must admit I broke down into tears once I'd finished writing and asked Jen to review it):
To dear Penny, Tim and Jakey
On this day we remember a little
Boy named Toby. He was a light in
Your eyes that shone permanently.
January 2006 came and
Out of the blue,
His battery was damaged which
Now continues to burn brightly in all our
Memories.
Cherish those memories we all do for
Children make life so wonderful.
Remember him each and
Every day, this is what he would have
Desired.
In our hearts he lives for
Ever more.
-
Beautiful abs......just beautiful
-
that is really lovely abs.
-
That is really beautiful abs. Thinking of you all today
-
Abs that is a very special poem i am sure the family will cherish. I am sorry but i dont know who Toby is? was he a friends baby or a relative of yours?
Today i spendt 5hrs at hospital waiting to c a doctor for nixon. he is ok but it has now been a week since he has had any real solid foods or kept up the amount of liquids he should be having. he hasnt vomitted as much today but done about 8-10 dirty nappies.
she said he still looks ok in himself and been doing everything rightk, i just wonder how long this can go on b4 he starts to pick up.
-
Yikes Nic, hope he gets through this, it really is dragging on
Um Toby is my nephew - my youngest sisters boy youngest boy. The April girls know coz I was keeping it within our group, Jan 23 (monday) last year he was being cared for by a friend of hers... Penny was sick and Tim had to go into work to help finish/sign off on a big sales deal... was the only reason he left them Toby was not quite 12 months old
Anyway he chocked on a bit of a sandwich - ambo's took a bit too long to arrive. Jill tried to get it out to no proper avail, and ambo's did manage to revive him. He woke for a little time on the Wednesday where Tim saw him smile and recognised him before passing out again.
Jen & I got a call Friday morning asking us to come down asap... we drove down on the Saturday, returning the following weekend. On the monday, or early that week, it was shown he was massively brain damaged due to loss of oxygen during that 10minutes or so.... he was put into paliative care, only being feed if he "awoke"... On Feb 23 he passed away
Oh, and since Tim got called home when the accident occurred, it was before the deal was signed - and the scum colleague left behind to finish it, even though Tim did most of the work, this bloke pocketed the entire sales commission. So he effectively went to work that day for nothing and something so unthinkable occured whilst away from home
Ona brighter note, they are expecting another boy latish May, but will be born early may since Pen is a Type 1 diabetic (like me). Spoke with her after I finished the powerpoint preso, to say something was on its way... apparently the others werent coming around, so sorta lucky I hadn;t booked flights
