-
Hi Ali, welcome!!! My little boy is one on 13th april. I have just taught him to blow out the candles - looks soo cute. were are you moving house too??? there are 2 or 3 girls in her now that are pregnant again.
Charlie has to go back to the doctor today - he is continually throwing up when he coughs and he can't stop coughing - this morning he coughed for about 2 hours! poor little baby
-
Sucks to hear Charlie is so sick:(. glad im not the only preggers 1 with a little age gap. we will have 'fun' (can u sense the sarcasm). Still waiting to hear from agent whether we got the house. all too stressful!
only 1 week till U/S! hope it's a boy:crossfingers: but as long as it's healthy i don't really mind too much
-
Hey everyone
Welcome Ali!
Jac - Hope Charlie's doing better soon, poor lil' tacker.
Well our exciting news from these parts is that Amber took her first steps! Yay! Very excting hehe. Now she's not doing it again, I think she just figures it's easier to crawl or be carried lol
-
Hi Ali, welcome to the group!
congrats on your pregnancy again, I am also pg with baby 2 due end of october. So hopefully there will be an 18month gap.
Joy in here is preg also due in October and Shell is pg due in August also! u might chat to her in belly buddies!
im hoping for a girl this time around.
Congrats Sooz on Amber's first steps Yay!
Poor Charlie, i hope he's ok Jacci, maybe croup or something similar? One of the bubs in mothers group just got it.
Abs- how exciting only a few more days till the BIG day! congratulations in advanced and i hope the day is just perfect
i sent Nixon's bday party invites out today! We are having his party on the 21st April with his cousin Alyssa in Sydney. Im having fun organising it, i love planning things!
-
Hi everyone,
I haven't been in for ages, so I hope you are all well!!
Jacci - I hope they find out what is causing poor little charlie's cough, must be terrible for you to watch!!
Ali - welcome, I hope you are having a healty pregnancy and that the next few months are great for you!!
Abs - not long to the big day, I hope everything is going well for you leading up to the day!!
Nickers - I have sent out Tyron's invites too, I am trying to think of good and relatively inexpensive things (apart from lollies) to put in the party bags any ideas??
Well I hope everyone else is going well!
-
hi all.
went to the dr's again and he said to keep going with this lot of antibiotics and hopefully when we go for the lung function it will show us what is really going on. he is not too bad during the day but at night and the mornings he has the worst bark!!
abs - i'm so excited not long for you now!!!!
party - i am starting to organise charlies party this week - not having anything big just a bbq with some of my friends and the girls in my mothers group.
-
Hello everyone, welcome Ali!
Lisa, just an idea for something to put in the the lolly bags, we always put little bottles of bubbles in each bag, a favourite with all ages!! Obviously we wouldn't let our little ones use them unsupervised, I get them for around 40-50c a bottle, lots of party shops have them!
Cheers,
Kelli
-
Hello everyone
Long time no talk, I've been so busy with moving, settling in, then my folks living with us for 2.5 weeks in between settlement of their old house and their new house. So that was interesting to say the least (under our house was like a storage shed).
Can you believe our babies are almost 1 (some already) I just don't know where the time has gone.
Congrats to those of you expecting #2 already, wish I was joining you :D
Abs - Just wanted to say GL with Jordy, Jen and your big day, just in case I forget between now and then.
Just a quick update on our front. Declan is up and walking while holding onto 1 of hands, still toothless, and is turning into a real little imp, the ratbag. Gets up to so much stuff and so quickly too.
Anyways, he is awake for his feed so better run.
-
Hi All Welcome Ali
Sooz congrats on first steps
Jacci great idea to teach charli to blow out candles I hadn't thought of that
Declan is having a big bash because its DH's bday the day after so were having a party from 3 for the kids and from tea time for DH my biggest thing is
PARTY BAGS what to put in them when about 10 of the kids are under 2! I want to do something they can have but am a bit of a loss at ideas! anyone got some suggestions
Declan is going to the doctor today he has had the runs for over a week now I thought it was teething related as he is cutting 6 teeth all at once poor bugger he now has 3 teeth through! but on top of that he has a bad chesty cough a runny nose and today seems to have no sense of ballance so Im thinking he might have an ear infection or something! poor little bugger but on a good note he only woke twice last night and I only had to roll him over one of those times and he went back to sleep! Mind you he did have dimetapp but he has had that in the past and not sleep like that! So I am feeling pretty awake today for the first time in nearly a year!
Not long not only 11 more sleeps to my little man is the big 1!
-
Lolly bags: i got a good suggestion from Tiggy when she had her twins first bday.
She did up diff bags for the babies and kiddies.
With the bubbas, there was a bib, a jar of baby food, a baby juice popper, some fruit sticks and a little photo frame, or something like that.
with the kiddies: some things from Sparties in spotlight like a bendy man, bubbles, mixture of lollies.
because Nixon's party in combined with my sisters daughter i'll have to caht to her about it but i think its a good idea to put something different for the babies under say 18months. but i suppose if not then the adults get some treats to eat anyway!
-
Cant wait... there is gonna be a few birthdays coming up really soon woohoo....
Yay for amber taking her first steps...
Becky.. hope Declan is better really soon.. poor wee man...
Mum... Alexa has 8 teeth LOL... sharp little suckers thoug sometimes wish she was still gummy !!!!
Nickers... How is Nixon going???
Update:
Alexa is a little ratbag... she crawls in turbo speed & figured how to climb onto the couch using the foot stool... little monster... She is starting to get a real personality now, especially when she cant have what she wants LOL... almost like a mini tantrum...
We almost have the night time sleeping sorted... she only grizzles for 10 mins or so at night now & is sleeping though again WOOHOO... I am starting to feel human again....
We have bookes our honeymoon & are hoping on the "big bird" over the ditch in October... cant wait.. only been married 2 1/2 years by the time we go LOL...
anyway better go do some work... BBL
:)
-
mitch - that is great that she will put herself to sleep! charlie used to cry for about 10 minutes. that went on for about 3 months - now i don't hear a word out of him, hopefully this will happen for you. were's the honeymoon too?
Nicers - i might borrow your idea for the party bags.
becky - bugger about the 6 teeth - charlie is getting his 2 eye teeth at the moment and he's grumpy - i feel sorry for declan getting that many at one time
-
Jacci.. we are going to the Gold Coast for 10 days... I cant wait.. has been about 6 years since i was last over there!!!!
-
Okay, I have been doing some searching and came up with the following for the party bags:
for babies under 2:
a book
a music CD (I have ones that I can copy etc..)
something musical maracas, tamborine etc..
a balloon
bubbles
and a few lollies
for older kids:
bracelets for girls
squishy ball thing for boys
music CD
stickers
lollies
am still searching so will let you know if I find any other good ideas??
-
This is also a good idea:
Get a large picture mat that would fit a 5x7 photo in it and have it out on a table at the party--have all of the guests write a little message to the birthday boy/girl on it and let the little ones scribble on it and then write below who drew it it. The you can put a picture of the Birthday child eating his/her birthday cake in it and frame it for their room.
-
lisa - we had that for our wedding - but it was a huge photo matt
-
Shazz, sorry missed ur post, looks like we were posting at same time. That's sad about the favourtism. My aunt & uncle always favoured me over my younger bro & sis & they hated it, it was not fair on anyone. Good suggestions from the others, alternate day parties, or combined party maybe?
In our mums group, there are 3 of us with bub's b'days on same wkend (born 2nd, 3rd, 5th April), one is Sat, 2 on Sun times diff.
Hope everything goes well with Georgie, Theresa.
Gees Jacci, what is it with these chest infections. Have they given a reason why he keeps getting them? Poor Charlie.
Good onya for not stackin it again, hehe, I haven't ridden for heaps, mainly coz fell preggas with Holly.
One of the bubs in our mums group just got croup too Nickers, she had him in hosp overnight Sun I think it was. He was also in on xmas day for a bad case of roseola & a few mths prior with seizures that were taking far too long (20mins or so) & he's scheduled for an MRI at hosp (o/night) on his b'day on 13th, poor bub, to check it wasn't caused by somethin in the brain.
Wow Kelli, sounds like ur gonna be sleep deprived too, hope those teeth hurry up. Think Holly's teething again too, bit grumpy/sooky & ear pulling & nappy rash back - broken skin (always comes with teeth). But touch wood, she still sleeps through.
Welcome Ali. Most have bub's b'days/info mentioned in signatures/tickers (at bottom), there used to be a list on pg 1, but moderators remove it so others felt welcome to join in. :)
My daughter Holly was due 14/4 & born 3/4. #2 is due 20/8/07, morph scan on Tue 27Mar 4pm, can't wait. What day is urs? Nickers, I still haven't found a belly buddies thread, oops, better have a look huh. I have most of my bub info in my www.
Ooh bugger on having to move, hehe, we've looked into it, not sure if will or wait.
Awesome Sooz
Lisa, with the 2 1st b'days I've been to this yr & 1 last yr, they did:
- small fluffy toy rattle instead of lolly bags
- bubbles, lollies, blowout, chockie..
- bendy yellow stickman (Spartys), Heinz fruit bar, cheese stick, rusk, lollies, blowout.
I'm gonna do a combination of #2 & #3, already got 24pk bubbles for $6.50 (spartys & coles sell them) :)
Hehe, they are getting into so much now huh Amy. WTG on the walking too.
Bec, that's what Holly had few wks ago, they prescribed antibiotics. :) Wow 6 teeth at once, that'd have to be a record wouldn't it, ouch.
Oooh yeah Mitch, I've seen Holly chuck the minnie tantrums too, screws the face up & makes a yell then gives me this dirty look, hehe. Sounds like fun, oh well, better late than never.
Holly's is also going to be a bbq at our house (was to be at park) & am making her a patchwork quilt cover (matl cost soo much, might put few pics on www shortly, still messing around with design) & cake, I will make it myself, apparently black & gold brand (eg iga) 'buttercake' mix is 90c a pkt & is divine. Lady in mums group has cakes made by a friend for all their do's & that's what she uses. Then decorate with pink icing & coloured speckles using a round 'happy bday' template (shake onto template then push slightly into icing).
Holly put her finger in 2 of the bub's mouths today at mums group & they bit down on her finger, poor darlin, she screamed. She'll have to learn quick not to do that.
obgyn aptmt this arvy.

Hiya!
Just a quick pop in to check up on everyone before I wrap up at work for the day.
Lisa - go to Spotlight in Joondalup - they have an enormous party section and heaps of little party bag fillers for all ages. We've got Janae's birthday party on Saturday and I've been back about 3 or 4 times already just for party stuff! They're also pretty cheap for hiring helium tanks if you want heaps of balloons! Probably not an incredibly smart move for a 1 year old party - but lots of fun!!!
Josiah is not just walking now - he's running. He won't crawl unless he's really tired. The only thing we've noticed is that he runs into walls deliberately. He'll launch himself at quite a speed at the wall and slap his hands on the wall - he thinks its hilarious, but I'm paranoid he's going to smack his head one day!
Anyway, better go - should be working if I want to get out of here any time soon.
Oh, and welcome to Ali!
Speak soon
Bel

Hi ladies and welcome Ali
re dates Ali, most of us have the tickers, Shell ie Holly and Jen (my other half) with Jordan were the first in April on the 3rd... Becky/Declan snuck into March (31st) and Mitch/Alexa came very early on March 1
Thanks for all the well wishes for Sunday girls... I finally wrote my vows last night and sent them off to the celebrant. Did another "1st letter of each line makes a message"
It's hectic city in our house at the moment with all the last minute Who Is Staying Where for those staying a few days in Sydney - plus who hasn't RSVP'd yet - some of em we can't get an answer either way, and since it's a sit down lunch, they wont be fed if they do turn up ! Grrr... especially one of em who is a Chef and understands about organising functions etc.
Anyway, my vows read:
I, Andrew, Jordy Pordy’s daddy, take you Jenny, Jordy Pordy’s mummy as my
Lawfully wedded wife.
On this day I do this in front of our family, our families and our friends.
Very real is what we do today for
Ever more do I promise to have and to hold
You from this day forward, in sickness and in health
Or if I be hypoman or narkyboy, for better and for worse
Until death do us part.
Jenny, my love for you never seems to want to end
Each and every day it continues to grow
Never seeming to falter
Never seeming to waiver, for today I marry
You
Other news - Jordy started day care yesterday. Jen had to work doing some interviews, so I took him there around 10am. He was up earlier then back to bed, waking about 9am. Then by the time I got him dressed, had brekkie (always a long drawn out process), it took that long.
I walked around the room with him and played with him there for about 15mins, gave him a bottle, and watched him play for a bit with one of the other kids then with one of the girls there... finally leaving around 10.30 - he was happy and occupied.
Called back at 11.45 - he'd just had lunch and gone to bed, a short cry at one point for about 5 mins... Jen wanted those details !
She went and picked him up after she'd finished her work, at around 2.45 - he had had another 10min cry after his nap, but like all the kids, one starts and eggs on the others
He's back in care again today. Jen took him - most of em were being quite vocal this morning and this started him off too. Though apparently he settled down in about 5 mins and was happily playing according to what Jen last told me - she's still out getting her nails and eyebrows done
No idea if I'll have much time to get on before the weekend. We have such a busy few days ahead - only 96hrs to go before it all starts (allowing for time change with Daylight Savings ending on Sat night/Sun morning)
-
Abs ~ your Vows are beautiful best of luck with all the preparations leading up to the big day i'm sure everything will be stunning
-
Love your vows Abs they are so cute and personal!

-
Wow.. Abs that has come round quick.. love the vows, just beautiful... hope you have a doubly awesome day.....
Alexa took 2 steps yesterday then realised that there was nothing around her & crashed LOL... I really hope she isnt walking for awhile yet... she gets into enough mischief crawling!!!!!
-
Geezs you lot are quiet I decided to go with the traditional style lolly bag filled with lollies ballons whistles and poppers but I put them in a noodle box but the plastic coloured ones they look great!

Hey all declan seems to be on the mends now thank goodness! I have done is lolly bags and pass the parcels we did a HUGE shop the other night and got supplies only have to go back next week to get pastry and stuff for the egg and bacon pies and sausage rolls!
we are looking at getting Declan a car bed as I am hoping he will sleep better if I can lie down beside him when he wakes etc the car beds have nice high sides so would be perfect as a todler bed and close to the ground to. I thought when he gets older we will build it up by putting a draw or shelves under it! So if anyone knows where to get one I am struggle aside from on ebay!
-

Shell - my u/s is on monday 26/03/07 - right after grandma's funeral
Everyone else - thanks for the list - not very observant lately, must b preg brain (thats my excuse and im sticking to it)
Sarah has just learned to stand without leaning on anything so hopefully she will walk soon. my back can't take carrying her all the time now.
Sarah was asleep when we were opening presents at my 21st 2 weeks ago but DH has been wrapping her toys in newspaper and encouraging her to find them. Now to get her blowing...
anyway, better go, tired toddler to put to sleep.

And Ali, well done on the house and happy 21st for 2 weeks ago
Well, just over 12 hours to go - actually 15 as I type this - OMG :D
Jordy is really struggling with something at the moment, he can go from bright and chirpy to grizzle monster within a few minutes. We know he is still teething, but just wish they'd come and pop out
All is set for the big doo in the morning - various phone calls from people saying they are looking forward to it plus all those already here
See you on the other side :D:D

-
Hi everyone !!!!!!!!!!!!
Well what a day Sunday was... Firstly, some pics that my sister Penny took... sorry for the blurry shots she said click here - hope the mods dont mind. I've asked her for the original shots from the camera on CD. Hopefully others will get theirs to us too
The surprise worked an absolute treat. Even when Nic pulled the rings out... hang on, back a bit.
We finally got things under way about 11.40am, about 10mins late due to one part of our extended family being given wrong directions by someone they were asked to bring at the last moment... and he doesn't drive - they weren't happy campers when they got there. But happy once they were there
Michael the celebrant kicked things off really well. Noted he was actually a celebrant and that he'd never done a naming day before so bear with him. Jordy didn't want to be held much, so was wandering around the front with either Jen or myself holding him. We did manage to hold onto him whilst we read a poem to him called Before We Met You. I'll get the words and post them later on. Definitely a few tears welling up during that, basically Before We Met You, we were able to sleep in, house was clean, go away at the drop of a hat, but also didn't know how the little things affected you, how a smile warms you right through, how a cry can devastate you, how we can now sing the theme songs to various tv shows
That then came to an end, Michael said how he'd been organised for 30mins of upfront work, but still had 15mins left. Said how he had been an actor, did anyone want him to do a song or dance, that he was a celebrant blah blah
Person in crowd #1 yells out "Why dont Jen & Andrew do the right thing and get married" - a few giggles from the crowd
We say back, nice call, but we dont have any rings
Person #2 says "Well I have two right here, use these", waits a bit and then brings them up. The crowd is going still giggling and haha'ing
The laughs soon turned to OMG and No Way and are...they...actually...gonna...get...married !!! They are :o Tears of joy and excitment were everywhere.
Ali, there was some dampness in my eyes reading the vows. But dampness of joy and sincere amazement that in less than a few minutes time we'll be married
Jen changed her vows from what I'd seen, no real surprise there. She fumbled when putting the ring on my finger, almost dropping it - but caught it. Someone yelled out "nice catch" which Michael the celebrant picked up and made a funny comment about it being able to be taken in more than one way
We had sooooo many people tricked - maybe of the 80-90 present, less than 10 knew in advance. And it really got the crowd talking once we'd finished.
What a great day and a very successful surprise... oh and we even had someone "present" via the phone from London. Mik couldn't be there in person, he couldn't get away in time... he leaves next Monday. His wife arrived on Friday and had a school reunion on the Sat night. Mik & Jen have been friends for many many years, so was fantastic he could attend in that manner
