Well I'm back at work from a lovely extra long weekend

Kris, it's funny you mention that Dylan might be a little OCD - I often say that about Ben He lines all his toys (pegs, people, cars) up so that they are exactly in a line. Gets very frustrated if they aren't just right!
Ben's also really good with his colours too. Orange and yellow (wewwo) are the two he ALWAYS gets right, but blue (goo) and red (dead ) rate pretty highly too. I'm LOVING how he's learning so many words a day. He's just really fun to be around right now.

Mel, if you contact your employer, they should be able to get you a copy of your group certificate if you can't find it.
I don't give Ben juice. I tried the baby juices once, but he wasn't that fussed, so he just has water and milk.
When's your appointment with the hip specialist? Hope all is well with Olivia.

Kaz, we were really lucky with daylight saving. Ben didn't have a day nap yesterday so I put him to bed at 6:30. He fell straight asleep and slept until 5:30 this morning. I LOVE our blockout shutters - I think they help eliminate some of the daylight confusion.
Are Pip's poo's from teething? Ben's had some shockers lately too.

We've had a really good few days. I thoroughly enjoyed having four straight days at home with my little man and can't wait to be back on maternity leave! Ben has two new teeth, the eye tooth on the right hand side and the corresponding bottom tooth. The left hand ones are about to come through too. Hopefully that will be it for a while then! We're lucky because when Ben is teething, he sleeps an awful lot! On Saturday for example, he had a 4.5 hour nap and then slept for 11.5 hours that night!!!!

I'm only at work today and tomorrow and then I have another four day weekend - woohoo!

    Hello there....
Seems like yonks since I posted! Been bust this weekend with different visitors every day but its been fun (and hard work!!)
I'll be brief as I am trying to watch Insight - anyone else watching Its about childcare for under 2's....
Wow at all these bubs and there colours!! So impressed!! beau has been a super mega grump lately with teething but was really great with all the different kids and adults in the house this weekend which was lovely to see - my brother couldnt beleive how easily he goes to sleep on his own I must admit we are so blessed there!
He was much better today but I hear you on the daylight savings - he was asleep till 8am today which is UNHEARD of since he was 5months!!! He is still going down at 7pm tho.
Apart from that - I try and get no added sugar and preservatives in the juice Beau has - he has about 1 to 5 ratio to water and I make him fresh fruit smoothies and squeeze orange juice and things too (and he has water) - we have just moved to sippy cups so he isnt drinking as much atm.
OK - much love to everyone - xxx

Yay found my group certificate.....put it in the wrong folder!!!!

This baby is so low and pushing down. I have trouble standing up straight at times coz I feel pulling. Have my midwife appointment tomorrow so should be interesting, although I'm not quite 33 weeks yet. I have a feeling I am going to go pretty early...just a guessing game though!!!

Ok, think I need to find chocolate or ice cream

Oh and dh has just made Olivia a gadget box...it has switches that turn lights on and off and buzzers with volume controls. Shes just like her father....excited by electricity!!!
Jen- thats a whopper sleep b had. Hope you dont have too much trouble with the teeth.

mel- lucky you on the long weekends.

Oh and Olivia isnt great on colours...I need to start thinking about these things.....

All over the place, so am going!!!

    Love melissa

    Hi girls!

Mel, what a great idea with the gadget box! You're very clever and creative. Good luck with your appointment today.

Jen, how good are the sleep ins? Craig and I got to BOTH stay in bed until 7:45 on Monday due to daylight saving. That's probably the first time since Ben was born I had to get him out of that before it became habit unfortunately though, due to us leaving the house at 6am evey morning

Ben's only good at his colours because he's lucky enough to have my mum's full-on attention all day every day. She spoils him rotten with attention and all the games she plays have elements of learning. Things as simple as handing him a pencil, she'll say "That's the yellow pencil" and get him to repeat it. He's a very fortunate boy in that his Nanny NEVER tires of him. He doesn't get that much attention when he's at home with me!!!! But mum and dad are off to Qld today so he's going to be stuck at home with his mum for the next few weeks - poor Ben!

Today is my Friday - that makes such a difference psychologically!!!!

    Hi!

Disgirl - Yeah on spending time with Ben! Thats great your mum does so much with Ben...I was like that with Louis but seem to have lost it a bit with Dylan...god knows what will happen when the next bubs arrives! LOL! Once we've settled in I'm hoping I'll be a bit more into it all...All my spare time at the moment is taken with unpacking and organising...not to mention the cleaning! LOL!

Jen - Glad you had a good weekend and enjoyed your visitors! Glad Beau's sleeping well and enjoying sleep ins!

Mel - Yeah at finding your group certificate! Can't wait to hear how you go at your midwife appt...hope bubs is happy to stay put for a few more weeks yet though - I know your over it but best for bubs to keep growing in mummy!
The Gadget box sounds fantastic - how clever!

Well, I managed to clean half the house yesterday and could hardly walk by last night - sciatic pain kicked in well and truly...seems better again today...vacuuming definitely doesn't help!

My little Boy is going to be 3 tomorrow! I can't believe it - I'm hoping to get some of his party decorations up tonight (he's having a party on Sat) so he can wake up to it! Depends how keen dh is to blow up balloons I suppose! I haven't even wrapped his pressies yet...off to the shops today to get some paper and sticky tape (can't find any at the moment - LOL!) and last minute party supplies...Will do food shopping tomorrow...

Ok - better get organised or we'll get nowhere today...chat later!

    Hey

My midwife appointment went well. Am measuring 34 weeks...so just a tad bigger than last time. Head is down low, hb is 140 bpm. Everything is normal as can be I dont have another appointment for another month. Seems like such a long time!!!

Adam is very excited about his gadget box that he wired up last night. He hasnt finished it yet, so she hasnt played with it but its going to be a very noisy toy. It will save me from picking her up to press buttons on the wall!!!!

I need some tips on being a good sah mum, in regards to teaching Olivia stuff. What kind of things should I have to teach her. We only have toys that shes been given, nothing really educational. She has a great vocab, so not worried about that, just need some tips.

Well, am off to Cranbourne race club to have lunch with a friend. Might go into their shopping centre and do some window shopping

    Have a great day,

Mel - Yeah at a great appt! I'm with you on the appts being far apart! I'm only just going to 2 weekly now! It's good though as it means everythings all good and thats the way we want it!

In regards to the teaching stuff...just interraction in everyday things will be good enough! They really are still only so little - colours, basic counting - 1, 2, 3, animals, role playing - on the phone etc then play wise - toys like puzzles, blocks, anything stacking and organising...They also just want to be involved with what you do...Dylan loves helping set the table and putting dishes away out of the dishwasher, putting food back in the pantry...and of course anything that helps dad outside they love...Gosh there's probably lots more but thats all I can think of....
Oh...and things like doing the shopping - getting them to find the fruit/veg or name them - it's just everyday learning but much better sometimes being hands on rather than just reading a book iykwim?
I'm sure you're doing all that already and lots more without even thinking about it!
    Enjoy your lunch out!
