Kris - that's what Pip was doing. Eventually we couldn't do anything and he cried himself into exhaustion.
DH took Pip to the docs today, he can't remember what it is but its the same treatment. Pip's off tomorrow and a friend of ours is going to babysit for us which is a huge relief. My boss was giving me strange looks when I came in at lunchtime ... lucky she's from Qld and knows what its like to have bubs and no family support.
Kris - I do hope you get better soon, its not good at all to be ill, let along at this time!
*hugs*

Hi girlies,
Sorry I haven't been posting. I have been keeping up with posts mostly, but by the time I read them, someone is usually crying, or I need a shower or to eat or something like that!
We are doing ok. Things are kinda tough, though MUCH easier with DH home. I have had Mastitis with the really high fevers and aches and pains that comes with it, feeding is pretty tough, and feeding is still really painful besides that with my nipples still pretty sore. Liam is being challenging with his day sleeps now and will not sleep unless he falls asleep on the boob or is in his sling/carrier. I have no idea how to fix that! I have tried patting him in his bed, just leaving him to cry (ugh!!!), burping him, feeding feeding feeding but he just hasn't been sleeping in the day time. Of course, Lily has been having great day sleeps, so while she (and DH) sleep blissfully, I am trying to settle his highness. I do get to rest DH lets me sleep pretty much when ever I can, which is great, but it would be nice to rest with everyone else and be able to play with Lily and DH when we are all rested, kwim?? Though Lil's night sleeps have gone out the window a bit, she's waking several times a night nd is really unsettled and wakes for an hour or more at least once a night. Poor DH is getting about as much sleep as me. I have no idea how I will do it on my own if it doesn't change. We will have to try to change it.....:(
Anyway enough with the whining....
Greenfern, hello and welcome again, I think I remember you posting before. Good luck with your TTC.
Kaz, I hope Pip is better soon. Lily has been sick for a few weeks now and it's frustrating that she just can't seem to get better. She's had a cough and ear infection for weeks now. And she's been on antibiotics for weeks too. Not to mention the teething, she's been getting her eye teeth for ages too.
Kris, sorry to hear everyone is sick. I hope you are all feeling better. It's been a bit like that here too. Though DH seems to have managed to miss it thankfully.
Mel, Lily is having moments like that too, especially after her afternonn snooze and at about 2am. She will just cry for no apparent reason. We give her panadol or nurofen but half the time it doesn't work, never know what to do!!
Gotta go, babies crying.....
-
Hi Margaret! Of course you can join - Welcome!
Kel - I think at this early stage however you get him to sleep doesn't really matter - as long as he sleeps to give you a break! Both my boys have fallen asleep on the boob at times when they're that little...just try and go with the flow and worry about breaking habits later (that may not develop?) I know how hard it can be with the 2! I'd definitely be trying to get lily's sleeping sorted before dh goes back to work or it's going to do your head in!!
Well...I've had a full on time - spent from 10pm last night until 3pm today at Maroondah Hospital with Dylan..he had croup really badly so they treated him and wouldn't let me go home! Poor little munchkin though - he's much better now...I didn't get much sleep however so had a snooze this arvo luckily and got woken up to dh having cooked dinner and Mum went to the shops and got us a bit of food for tomorrow...
I still feel like crap though and have the worst cough...hopefully I get a good nights sleep tonight to help me get better...Dh had to stay at home with Louis today and I missed him so much...
Anyway...will chat later...
-
Oh no Kris, that's not good. Rest up mummy K :)
Margaret - by all means, welcome! How's bribie treating you? Do you take your little one down to the beach at all?
Kel - ouch on the mastistis. good DH is there though.
Us - Friend babysat Pip for us today. She didn't find the nappy compartment and had Pip in his "swim nappy" that I keep as an emergency. I'm so grateful to her for doig this!
-
kazbah - we go down to the passage a lot i go walking along the front there and x always wants a play on one of the many play equipments along there, or a run on the sand (and inevitabley into the water). mad little bloke was the only person in the water the other day he adores it.
kel - ouch on the mastitis. i can only imagine i never had it. but i used to always feed xavier to sleep when he was little. people said it was naughty but it worked and it has turned out to be a huge problem. good luck on sorting the sleeping
kris - sorry to hear that. hopefully your cough eases up on you soon and dylan is ok. lucky you have people trying to help but hey.
crap weather here today so no outside for this one. which will annoy him. have to catch a bus up to near where dp works so we can do shopping together after work. we are down to one car but luckily living on the island means x and i can pretty much walk any where we need to go. and now we are getting the hang of the buses out here too.
so glad that our move is all over. we have spent the last 4 weekends doing things to the old house, so it will be nice to just have a weekend without stressing about it.
have a good one! :)
-
Hi!
Well managed a decent sleep considering...at least managed to keep Dylan in his own bed which was the aim...he woke lots but was fairly easy to settle...
Kaz - LOL at the swim nappy! Yep - very lucky to have someone to babysit!
Greenfern - Oooh It must be so nice living in the warmth and by the beach! I'm very jealous! LOL! Xavier must love it so much! When we move we'll be about 15min from the bay which is the closest I'll ever have lived to the beach so I'm hoping we'll be able to make the most of it (although we do live in Vic so who knows? LOL!) Sounds nice that your all settled in to your new house! Thats great!
Looks like we'll be having a nice quiet day at home...everyone seems a bit better but still has bad coughs...Chat later!
-
Kris, Poor Dylan! Hopefully the worst is past now and you'll be able to get some rest and recover.
Greenfern, WELCOME! Bugger about the wet weather. Ben hates it when he can't get out for a few days too. Drives us all up the wall!
Kaz, how wonderful that you had a friend babysit Pip! Funny about the swim nappy though
Kel, absolutely nothing wrong with having Liam fall asleep on the boobie. Ben did it for months and months when he was a littlie and I used to cuddle him to sleep until he was 8/9 months old. He suffered no ill effects and usually goes down to bed by himself now without a fight and puts himself to sleep. I say usually because this week has been a shocker for us!
Jen, only two days until your birthday! Doing anything special? I barely noticed my birthday this year
Mel, I think there's something in the air. Change of seasons maybe? Ben's been a shocker this week with bedtime. Hope Liv settles for you soon.
Us, well as mentioned a couple of times, we're not having a great week sleep-wise. Ben hasn't liked bedtime and it's been a struggle to get him down. Last night DH had to stay up with him until 10:30! I know it doesn't sound bad, but DH leaves for work at either midnight or 2am and I'm up at 5am (not to mention growing a baby) to get Ben ready before going to work so 10:30 is far too late a bedtime!!!! He doesn't seem to be suffering for it though - at least one of us isn't!!!!!
I got my Baby Beehinds yesterday and I'm so excited! I'll spend the next few days washing them and will try them out on the weekend. I don't know if I'll be able to use them often until I finish work - washing them will be a bit hard, but I'm keen to give them a try. Just got so sick of all the sposies we were buying!
Have a good day! :D
-
Good After noon!
Kris -You poor love at the hospital with little Dylan, glad everyone is back home now.
Kaz - LOL at the babysitter - mine used to do the weidest things too! At least Pip was dry:redface:
Margaret - Welcome again! I remember X's name - how long have u been up there? We are moving up the coast of NSW in 9 days from the city for a seachange.....
Mel - Hope Liv has settled back down.
Dis - Oh I know those late nights are a shocker when usually they are so good hey? Mmmm my birthday - I think we might go into Chinatown on Sunday for a combined F Day/ B Day thing - we have decided we can each get a special gift for each other when we move so have to wait til then.....
Kel - on the mastitis - I put Beau to sleep (who wasnt very boobie lovin') when he was small in a baby bjorn floor rocker thingo- I would wrap him then usually do it (rock the chair) with my foot while expressing - then transfer him to his cot - its low energy and it works.:)
Us - My man is all snuffly so getting what everyone elses bubs have I guess - his day sleeps are crap and he is waking at 5am!!!!! I have relented and decided to get his 1yr shots next week before we move.....although I am still not sure I want my GP to do it if anyone......
Ok I am going to make guacamole DH is home early and we are having some drinks
-
Hi!
We had an ok day...been feeling quite sick in the tummy for some reason..not sure if it's heartburn related..just hoping it's not a permanent thing for the next 10 weeks anyway!
Kids are ok...I think Dylans just recovering and really didn't want to settle and hardly slept for the day (although he's been down without waking since 7pm so fingers crossed) and Louis is quite a lot better but I think he's over being stuck at home...the sun was out today though so they had a bit of a play outside - nice for some fresh air!
Disgirl - Sorry to hear your having trouble with Bens sleeps at the moment...I hope he settles for you soon! Gosh - if only we could work out what these problems were so we could fix them and be done with it! LOL!
Jen - Aww I hope Beau doesn't get to sick! What made you change your mind about immunisations? Hope you enjoy your evening!
I think I'm going to head to bed in a minute...Sweet dreams everyone!
-
Not sure Kris - Just moving far away to a new environment I want him to be prepared I guess, I thought it is best to get someone I know and trust to do it.
Hope the boys slept ok for you and your tummy feels better - wow 10 weeks doesnt seem like long to go for you!
-
Hi!
Jen - Fair enough!
Well, no not long to go for us in lots of ways - 3 weeks until we move and 10 weeks til bubs arrives! Wow! I'm so excited about everything!! LOL!
Louis slept like an angel but Dylan woke heaps with a snotty nose - can't be helped at the moment I'm afraid - he slept in until just after 8.30am though!!! They seem a bit better again today other than lingering coughs so I'm sure it's just a matter of time now...
I seem ok...still a bit sick along with the kids and not sure about my tummy today...I've only had a banana so far as I'm a bit scared to eat....
Chat later!
-
jen - how exciting. where abouts on the coast are you moving? we have been here for three or four weeks now i think. so far so good. nice and relaxed and close to everything. hoping i get back into some sort of fitness regime, which i have been neglecting somewhat for a couple of months :(
kris - i hope your tummy settles down for you today. where abouts in VIC are you moving. my aunt and uncle live near the water. at inverloch or something its called
disgirl - hope you had a better night. i like BBH nice and easy to use.
weather is still not pretty today but we have already been out for one walk (dp's tyre was dead flat and as it was the spare we had to walk it somewhere to get resealed, we just CAN'T win at the moment)
have a weekend of rugby planned. touch tonight then we watch our friends rugby grand final and go to celebrations. then i have to drive nearly 4 hours sunday for my parents. having my nanna's wake sunday before her funeral on monday. :(
poor xavier's second funeral in as many months.
got to run. someone is very quiet, which worries me!
-
Hi!
Greenfern - We're moving to Cranbourne...nowhere near inverloch! LOL! It's very scary as an area I don't know a lot about and definitely has good spots and bad spots - so hopefully we've bought in a new one and have nice neighbours...we shall have to wait and see!
Bugger about your tyre...Wow - what a busy weekend you've got planned! Have fun at the rugby...So sorry to hear about your Nanna- how sad....
-
HEy All,
Kel- hope youre feeling better. I got mastitis 2 weeks in a row...both boobies. Ouch is all I can say and that horrible flu feeling that goes with it. I think thats when I just about gave it up. Sounds like things are really busy for you, am happy that you have DH around for some support. I think its starting to hit home for me listening to what you have to say...only 12 weeks to go!!!
Kristie- sorry you guys have been so sick. Hope things are looking up for you. Hopefully with this nice-ish weather here you'll be able to get some well needed fresh air into you lungs and feel better. Hope your tummy pains have gone away today...and dont forget to eat something!!! You have a lot on in the next 10 weeks so take care.
Kaz- thats funny about the baby sitter. Pip still unwell?? Hope he gets better soon too. Hopefully the snow will melt off the mountains that you can see!!!
Mel-hope Ben is settling at night for you. They are little buggers arent they?!?! Olivias up to some of her usual tricks, but hopefully she'll settle soon. Good on you for giving the cloth nappies a go...we had no luck with them, by the time I tried them with her hip harness...which was difficult enough, DH wasnt supportive, so it was back to sposies I went. Oh and the smell of nappies makes me sick, reminds me when I was a student nurse working in nursing homes....
Greenfern- welcome back.. I do remember you from a while ago. Youre new place sounds beautiful. I would love to live close to the water again. Sorry to hear about your nan too.
Us- Olivia has been great, besides the occasional sleep thing. I think I am up at least once or twice a night for her, but we have managed again to keep her out of our bed. Shes climbing everything...she climbs a chair to get onto the coffee table, to get onto the couch and will do it over and over again. She also climbs on the office stuff so she can look out the window. I am just in discussin with family day care about dropping her hours from the middle of October. Hopefully we can do just one or two days at the same place. Me- I am thoroughly tired today and have been for the past coule of days, even though I get great sleep. Bubs is headbutting my bladder and theres a fair bit of weight in my pelvis, which is starting to get uncomfy. I have my GD test on Monday...yuck, so once thats over, I suppose we are on the home stretch.
I am still cleaning like mad and now I have a deadline for cleaning to be done before Olivia drops her hours. I am almost finished though, so will be able to take it easy. Hopefully today I can get a start on cleaning up Olivias room so I can sort through baby clothes and start washing them:)
Ok, well housework calls. Have a great weekend everyone,
Love Melissa
-
Jen, gee not long until your move now!!!!
Kris, heartburn related yuckiness is horrible. Try to take it easy. You've been run off your feet with sick kiddoes this week and things are only going to get more hectic in the next couple of weeks!
Margaret, bugger on the tyre! Do you use BBH? Do you use any other kinds of MCN? I washed all mine out (I only have the sample three) last night and they're hanging up inside now. I'll probably chuck 'em in the dryer tonight so we can use them this weekend to see how we like them. I'm really excited about using them right now - I hope my enthusiasm lasts!
Mel, you've just made me extremely grateful that Ben isn't much of a climber! Wow, Olivia must really keep you on your toes! No wonder you are tired! You've cleaned more this week than I have ALL YEAR  Not to mention you're growing a bub. I can't believe how close you and Kris are getting now :)
Us, we had a MUCH better night last night. I have decided to start a better routine for nighttimes now. I told Ben he'd be going to bed soon, and let him play for a little longer (he'd give me the 'no' headshake though  ). Then I put him in his sleeping bag, gave him his dummy and sat him on my lap for a read. I also had his milk handy if he wanted some of that, but he's not really a drink before bed kinda kid. Anyway, we read the book twice and then I said "Okay time for bed!" I put him to bed and that was that!!! I was sure it wouldn't work and he surprised me. So, we'll get into that routine and hopefully it won't be too much of a shock for him when he goes into his big boy bed in a couple of months.
I had my m/w appt this morning and all was well!!!!
Have a good weekend everybody - and HAPPY BIRTHDAY JEN!!!!!
-
Hi!
Found out we should have access to the garage of our new house the week before settlement which would be fantastic! Means we can move all our non-essential stuff over the week which will make lift a lot easier! We're going to take the kids on the 20th as well to our final inspection so they can have a look around...the people are moving out on the 19th so that will be interesting - the house will be empy! (pretty much how it will look after we move in - LOL!
Both boys are down for a sleep together - woohoo! Means I've got a bit of stuff done and managed to have a chill out as well..I really need to eat something though...I feel hungry but don't know what I feel like (other than kfc chips) Gosh - I feel like I'm back in early p/g!!
Mel - Lol at Olivia doing all that climbing! I completely understand! I caught Dylan with a knife in his hand this morning cos he's pushed the chair over to the bench in the kitchen! Nearly gave me a heart attack - and of course he can climb in to his high chair now...One thing I'm grateful for though is he's finally starting to listen to "no" (most of the time!) It really does just take a lot of persistance with these munchkins!
Oooh I don't envy you with your gd test - I didn't have to do it this time which was good! It's amazing how fast the times gone - Soon we will have new little bubbas in our arms! How exciting!
Your freaking me out with all this cleaning! LOL! I've got mum coming around in the next week or 2 to do all that crappy cleaning jobs for here - the oven etc and then she'll come to the new place and give it a clean once we move - I'm very lucky thats for sure! I'm so not a nesting person! LOL!
Disgirl - I know...I'm a bit annoyed because I was starting to feel like I was getting a bit of energy back and now I'm back to barely keeping my eyes open through the day - LOL! I'm sure everything will settle down again for next week!
Yeah on having a much better night! Ooh I agree routines are fantastic! We do the same each night and we very rarely have any problem with bedtimes! My boys have dinner, bath, stories/cuddles with their dummy and blanket and then off to bed - Often Dylan walks to the cot and tries to climb in himself! It's just such a give that thats whats going to happen they are just ready for it! It makes life a lot easier thats for sure!
Hopefully he keeps it up for you!
K - better get a bit more done! Chat later!
-
Hi girls,
Well, we are doing pretty well today. Went to the LC clinic today for some more help with bf. It was good. The LC I saw was the same as who helped me with Lily. She's really nice and helped me with some basics that I was doing wrong and it has changed everything! So hopefully this will be the end of my tears at feed times.
DH is trying to not give Lily milk in her bottles tonight. He's been weaning her off it, slowly putting water into it. I don't think it will change much, she'll probably just wake for water instead, LOL! The mchn referred us to the early support team for her sleeping to try to make things easier for me when DH goes back to work. She's coming on Monday, hopefully with some useful strategies.
I had about 4hrs broken sleep last night. I tried Liam in his cradle, so that DH could sleep in our bed for a change, he's been on the lounge since we came home cause he wont cosleep with the kids when they're so little. But I would like to get him into the cradle. Maybe I should ask the sleep lady on Monday. Luckily I got to sleep this arvo. I was seriously falling asleep when feeding Liam a few times today. We slept for 3hrs. And it was blissful!! Especially as today has been really cold, rainy and miserable in Sydney.
Our house is a shambles. There's crap everywhere, I need to wash up and the pile of clothes is multiplying in the laundry. Everyone keeps on telling me not to worry, but seriously there's some things that you HAVE to do, that you HAVE to worry about. Like washing clothes and dishes. Regularly. More regularly than I have been.....Things like mopping and stuff, fair enough you can not do for a while, but washing up, cleaning toilets, things like that, has to be done!!!
Anyway, got to fix dinner and Lily is sooking....
-
Ick what a horrible day again in Sydney - I am trapped in the house for the second day with B and he has had ENOUGH!!! As have I ..... what a **** birthday so far! Hope it improves!
-
Hello everyone, just a quick msg from me. Kel have you had Lily's ears checked? I ask as we've had Charlie waking 1-2 times a night now since about 8 months...sometimes he settles with a bottle fine other times just screaming in pain. We just had his ears checked by a specialist & they are completly blocked (which explains his lack of speech), we are getting gromets in 2weeks. The specialist seems to think it will make a dramatic change to his sleeping...fingers crossed.
Us, yesterday I didn't give Charlie a bottle & he didn't seem to miss it. Went to bed no fuss at all...I just made sure he had plenty of snacks etc & a good feed at tea time. He went down at 6.30pm & didn't wake til 5.45am!! Wow. So will try again today & if all goes well hopefully its goodbye bottle & if he is really fussy might try small amount of milk in cup - try & get rid of bottle all together. Doing this to hopefully also cut out waking for a bottle, & specialist said to cut out all dairy for his ears. I hope if it goes well & his sleeping improves we might actually talk about a brother or sis for Charlie...YAY.
Must go - haven't even organised a thing for Fathers day yet!
Good luck to all those moving...we still have boxes everywhere & nothing in order LOL it takes time.
-
Happy Birthday Jen!!! I hope your day improves!!!
I wrote a big post last night but lost it - grrr!
We're all going ok here...a much better sleep last night with Dylan only waking a few times...
We found out that we can have access to the garage at our new house from the 20th so we will be able to start moving things across earlier which will take a lot of pressure off thats for sure! We will also have an inspection that day so the kids can have a look around which will be good for them before we actually move!
Kel - Glad your getting some good help! Yeah - should make life a bit easier for you! Have you thought about maybe getting a cleaner or someone to help out on the home front for a couple of hours?? Might take a bit of that extra pressure off as well?? I understand you need to get your washing done! I remember times after we had Dylan it was down to desperate times as we ran out of clothes etc - especially as Dylan was a chucky baby and we had to change his clothes so many times a day! LOL!
Erin - Yeah at a good sleep! Wow that the cause of some of Charlies probs were his ears - shall be great to have relief from that! Thats great you've dropped the bottle - Dylan has a small cup of milk before bed but he usually doesn't drink it - most of the time the kids aren't that fussed but we end up in the routine! LOL!
OK..chat later! Hope you all enjoy your weekends - fathers day tomorrow! We're having Lunch out with my family and dh just wants a sleep in...the kids have bought him a poker set thing for a present...
-
Hi all,
Jen, I agree, this weather sux BIG time!!! I hate rainy weather. I know we need it but ick!!
 HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!:cheer: I hope you ended up having a good day and you got spoilt. I can raise you on the crappy birthday stakes anyhow...I mean it was good having Liam as a pressie, but I still had the baby blues and bfing was at its suckiest, not to mention it was my 30th and I had wanted to do something really special (which I did, I had a baby, but I mean have a party or something!)I haven't had a drink, a propper drink, for......porbbaly 3 or 4yrs. My 31st will have to replace it! Have a drink for me :D if I could I'd have one for you....
Erin, DH is weaning Lily off her night bottles too. First time last night and it wasn't as bad as I though it would be. She cried a bit, but not for nearly as long as I thought she would. Though we'll see how she goes tonight. I'm really hoping it works and she starts sleeping through, cause I have no idea how I will do it on my own when he goes back to work. The two kids seem to wake at the same time, even thought they are in different rooms, with my door shut.
We have had Lil's ears checked and they have been infected fairly badly for at least a month or so. She's been on antibiotics but it just won't seem to clear. I am going to make an appointment at the specialist next week. Good luck with Charlie's grammets, I hope they work for him.
Kris, unfortunately, we don't get much help from family. My mum could help but doesn't do much for us. DH is the only help I get. I am so so soooooo lucky that he is very hands on and supportive. He has his moments but for the most part he is great. Adn unfortunately again, we can't afford a cleaner. I so wish I could at least for a while, til I get myself sorted into a routine, but it won't be happening.
Glad to hear you're all on the mend there. Hopefully it should be the last sicknees of the season, that's what I'm hoping for here anyhow, now the weather should warm up a bit (though today is no indication in sydney! 16degrees or something and raining cats and dogs!).
Yay that you have acess to your garage. At least you can start to sort through things a bit. Moving sux. I hated moving here and we had nearly all new stuff. Our next move should be interesting! 3 flights of stairs with all of our stuff...
Hi to everyone else. I hope your weekends are great!!
-
hello ladies!
Erin - Goodness - grommits! Poor little thing - when do they go in?
Us - Yes, Pip's still sick. this time he's got an ear infection + a cough (not related). Antibiotics for the ears. Pip loves the ABs, he sucks it down and wants more!
Disgirl - yay on the BBeehinds - hemp or bamboo? if you can't be bothred doing all the washes, just do one wash before putting them on for only a little while (about an hour) which is a nice way of easing into it.
Kris - how's the tum - you have to eat more!!! Yay Dylan's getting a bit more sleep.
Kel - your hubby is a wonder. Definately try the sleep nurse, worth it for your DH I reckon.
Anyhows,a bout to start getting ready for this evening!
AND HOW GREAT IS THIS SUNSHINE!!!!
-
Hi!
We had a nice day and even managed to get snoozes in the arvo! (luckily Dylan was happy to occupy himself for a while as Dh, Louis and I were asleep! LOL!)
Kel - Hope your getting some sleep! Will be great to get Lily sleeping a bit better - hopefully cutting out the bottles will help! Bugger at not getting much help...I generally don't get much practical help although my mums been surprising me a bit lately..Not sure what will happen once we move though as we'll be about 30-40min away from her...
Kaz - LOL on Pip loving medicine - so do my boys! I think I made up for the lack of eating today with a big bowl of vegetarian fettucine for lunch with a big slice of choc cake (we all shared it and I still couldn't eat it all!) Although I was so full from that that I haven't eaten dinner...I'll probably just have a milo or something soon...
Still feeling a bit upset in the tummy - really feels kind of like morning sickness again and really forcing myself to drink more water...I know it's not good to be dehydrated and I'm sure it's not helping my energy levels...might have to buy a bit of cordial or something tomorrow just to I drink more...It's so strange though because I've always been a big water drink but this p/g I just can't stomach it that much...
OMg - the sunshine was beautiful yesterday - and it was nice and mild today - I got washing done yesterday and we had the most beautiful arvo sitting out in the backyards with the kids playing and dh got home from work and we just chilled out there for a couple of hours gasbagging (didn't hurt he'd had a couple of beers - always a surefire way to get him to talk - LOL!) The kids just loved it as well which was the best part! Makes me very excited for summer although even that mild weather is great for just sitting out there...
OK..I"m talking rubbish now! LOL! Hope the dads enjoyed their days! Chat later!
-
Kris, yup, drink up on that water! I've found that a bit of cordial is just what I need on days when I just can't stomach water. I found that dehydration really messed me up a lot with this pg. Once I got on top of that I felt much better.
Well done on the nap yesterday!
Kaz, Ben loves Nurofen. He hasn't had it for ages, but whenever he sees it in the fridge he gets it out for us and tries to scam some. No wonder, some kids meds are YUM!
I've got the bamboo BBhinds. We used them on the weekend (we only have one AIO and two one-size ones at the moment) and we LOVED them. Well, I loved them and DH didn't mind them so it's a goer! I just ordered two more AIO's and three more one-size ones and another cover. We'll slowly build them up to a full stock. Ben didn't seem to mind the change at all - woohoo!
Kel, unfortunately yes, some stuff does need to be done. To make you feel better - our sink is overflowing right now (DH will do the washing up today) and we don't even have a bub! We just had a lazy weekend where we did ZERO housework. It's a bummer you don't get more help from family :( I'd love to get a cleaner, but I can't justify the expense! Good luck with Lil's sleep and dropping the night-feeds :)
Erin, two of my nephews have got grommets and they are SO much happier. They seemed to always have ear infections or headaches, but since the grommets - different little boys! Good luck with that :)
Jen, you poor thing :( I hope your birthday improved. Saturday was an awful day in Sydney. Did you end up going into Chinatown with your DH yesterday to celebrate? It's another lovely day today, hopefully you and Beau are down at the park making the most of it :)
We had a great weekend! Did some shopping on Saturday, napped in the arvo then watched the Swans win on Saturday night - yay! Tried out Ben's Baby Beehinds on Saturday too and they get the thumbs up! On Sunday we went to DH's folks in the morning, my folks in the early afternoon and home in the late afternoon. It was just the perfect weekend :)

Hi All
Hows everyone going? Dont think i'll do personals today, am so tired. Olivia is cutting her eye teeth and is not sleeping well. I fell asleep on her floor at 4am...ooppss....must have been tired!!! Had my GD test today, get the results tomorrow. Bubs is going well, upside down, hb 144.
We had a great weekend too. Went to a friends place on Saturday and sat outside gas bagging with her parents and Olivia playing with their dog. Then Sunday we were cleaning up our backyard, sweeping cut grass, spreading dirt. Olovoa ended up with no nappy on, running up mounds of dirt and she even rode a dirt mound and made horse noises!!!! And she found some worms and picked them up....it was so cute. I got quite a few pics!!! I had to give her a bath in the kitchen sink at lunch and then she slept so well in the arvo...pitty about the night!!!
Am looking forward to the nicer weather. Its a bit cold today, so not doing too much...except going to sleep.
Take care all and chat later
Love Melissa

good evening....
Kind of everything and nothing going on here if that makes any sense?
House is becoming a shambles as we go on Friday - so so excited, had my last visitor today so tomorrow its no holds barred for me and the packing, I have decided we are having toasties for the rest of the week so i can pack alll the pans and cupboard stuff.
Kris - Thats helpful you getting the garage access - at least you can be a bit prepared for the onslaught!
Kaz - Glad you had sun!
Kel - far out I didnt realise it was your birthday too? Dont worry, I am drinking like a fish recently, so much so I think when we move I am getting a bike (with a seat for B - anyone got one?) and getting rid of this belly! I think that sounds like a good move with Lil, let DH sort her out and you concentrate on Liam and sleep! How is B'fing now?
Mel - Sounds like Olivia had fun! Awesome - cant wait for the warmer weather too!
Dis - glad you had a nice weekend! No mine didnt improve! DH dropped me in chinatown for an hour while he and Beau went to the fish markets yesterday so I could shop and that was the highlight!!
Erin - Thats interesting with Charlies ears - how many words does he have now? Beau holds his ears a lot and has tonnes of dairy so I may have them checked on Wednesday when I am at the docs out of interest.....
Big hugs to all - busy tomorrow catching up with a BB mum and packing, a cleaner coming around for a move out clean price, then Beaus shots on Wednesday and packing and then Thursday is our last big city day!!!!
Ok I have a leg crawler....best go!

Hiya ladies,
Kaz, yep, my DH is the best, especially lately. He's been so good cleaning, cooking and looking after Lil and me, not to mention putting up with my extreme emotions. One minute I'm thinking 'All will be well, I can do this' (ie- 2 babies 16mths and under) then thinking 'OMG what have I done how will I ever manage this on my own??' Most of the time I'm thinking the latter....
Kris, yeah, the sleep happens sporadically. I get about 4hrs straight first thing when we go to sleep (Liam and I) and then it's usually up every 2-3hrs or so, well not up, but feeding (we're cosleeping so I don't have to actually get up to him. The down side is that DH won't sleep in the bed when the bubs are so small, he's sleeping on the lounge. But Liam won't sleep in his cradle so I can't have DH in bed at the mo :( . I have someone coming on Wednesday to try to give us strategies for both of them on how to get them to sleep...
Lil seems to be getting better with her sleeping, she only woke once last night and that was for her dummy, so yay!!! It seems to have worked so far (knock on wood!) and she's eating soooo much better than she was too.
Dis, hehehe, it does make me feel better knowing that mine is not the only sink that gets to overflowing! Ours is surprisingly empty at the moment! Though the dish drying rack is overflowing, LOL!
Mel, eye teeth suck don't they?? Lil's been cutting hers for weeks now, at least 4wks. She's getting the top ones now and they just won't cut through. LOL @ falling asleep on the floor. I usually fall asleep on the lounge with Lil in the middle of the night. When I was pg I had to sit up with her cause I didn't fit on the lounge with her laying down, LOL!
Yay, that bub is all good. And good luck with the GD tomorrow. Yours and Kris's pg's seem to be flying to me!
Jen, wow, your move is so close! I bet you can't wait. I can't believe you're going by the weekend!
Yep, my bday....the big three-oh! I officially feel old now. On the day I looked in the mirror and looked dreadful...grey hairs showing, wrinkles, bag under my eyes, ugh!!! Doesn't help that I'm living off 5 or so hours of broken sleep lately, if that. But it was a bit of a non event really. As I said, next year I will ba making up for it. Liam should be weaned by then and if not I will be partying anyway!!! I think I will deserve it by then!
Bfing is going pretty well now. I saw the LC and seemed to have sorted out a few more kinks, though feeding is still a bit painful. But nothing compared to last week.
Well as for us, we are doing ok. I sorted out a way to get down the stairs on my own with the two kids, Liam in the sling and Lil on my hip. Not easy, but doable. I wasn't brave enough to try coming up, LOL! Though Lily can walk up the stairs, well at least onw flight. And as I get fitter I should be able to do it more easily. I definately won't be able to bring much home though- Lil, Liam and shopping....just won't happen!!!!
Anyway going to have a shower and warm up! Hope everyone is well.

HEy
Kel- sounds like things are starting to sort themselves out with feeding and sleep...cross fingers. I was a basket case for about 6 weeks with Olivia, so am expecting the same this time round! Am glad you DH is helping out. Hope your appointment goes well on Wednesday. I fell asleep again last night on the floor for an hour. The only thing that wakes me is the fact that my arm and hip have fallen asleep!! It was from 11pm til 12, then she slept until 630am, which was great. Am hoping the eye teeth are quick, but doesnt sound like it....
Ok will catch up with the rest of you coz I have a sooky lala whos banging her head on the wall coz I'm not moving.......
-
Good Morning All....
Kel you sound like are doing really well....especially getting down the stairs with all three of you! Glad Lil is responding to her da da at night and only waking up once now - glad also the b'fing is going well, must be such a releif - hope Liam continues to love his boobies! Thats funny about the dishes....I am off to get some paper plates and cups so I can pack EVERYTHING!! I have just done most of the pantry so we are eating take aways he he!!!
Yes so super excited about moving, I think thats why I just want everything packed and done so we are ready ready ready!!! I am still folding washing and putting it away and then I catch myself, like cant we all just wear the same clothes so I dont have to do this anymore in this house??? LOL I bought Beau some funky toys at CHinatown on Saturday for the move day so he might sit in a room for 10min occupied...fingers crossed. They have great wooden toy at the markets and so cheap.
Mel - Ouch sleeping on the floor two nights in a row! Look after yourself! Gosh I think I was a basket case for the first 6months!
I dont know why I am online....I have so much to do:doh:
-
Jen, bugger about your birthday sucking! If it makes you (and Kel) feel any better, I had my 30th when Ben was 8 weeks old, still breastfeeding and we were home in bed by 10pm, absolutely buggered. For my 31st, I almost forgot it and did absolutely zero since I had bad m/s with this bubba! I figure that by 35 I will have finished making babies and bfing them so I'm going to have a HUGE one!
BTW, you're entitled to come on here for a break. Have you sorted out your internet connection for your move or will you be MIA for a while?
Mel, OUCH on falling asleep on the floor! My back is hurting of a morning as it is, if I slept on the floor I wouldn't be able to move!
hehehe, I just spoke to mum and Ben had been banging his head on the wall because he wanted to go to bed. Crazy kids!
Kel, you are doing an awesome job! I can't believe how coherent you are in that loooooong post of yours  If I'd only had a few hours sleep you'd all be scratching your heads trying to figure out what the hell I was trying to say!
I hope you get some good ideas from the nurse tomorrow.
Us, we're doing great. Again the 20 week mark was the magic milestone for me and I feel a million times better. I'm able to eat again, stay up slightly later than 8:30 (made it to 10:30 on Sat night  ), and talk without becoming breathless. It's just a shame it takes so bloody long in the pg to feel normal again!
Ben has been his usual self. He must have been a clown in a previous life - he's just hilarious. He ate a whole plate of spaghetti last night for dinner. I ate a lot, but he ate more! He burns it all off though. Thankfully, those few days last week seem to have been an oddity and he's back to sleeping til 6am which is brilliant!
Anywho, have heaps of work to do - hope you have lovely days!
-
Hi!
Not much happening here...the kids are driving me crazy, I think just because I feel so tired and they're still a bit sick and grizzly...Dylan had a 3h day sleep yesterday and was hanging for his sleep today...He's going through a horrible hitting stage which is not enjoyable and throwing the biggest tantrums...I'm hoping it's just a bit of a growth/development spurt as he's coming out with new words and stuff again...
In saying that they both slept through last night which is nice!
You guys have been chatting heaps...might try and catch up tomorrow as I'm reading the same lines 5 times over and it's still not making any sense! LOL!
-
Kris, sounds to me like you need a break from the kids. Can you arrange a few hours off where you can go shopping or to the park? Sounds like the last few weeks are finally catching up with you :( At least you got a good night's sleep :)
-
Morning!
The boys slept through again last night! Wow! (although I was up for the toilet - LOL!)
Disgirl - Yeah, I probably do need a break but it's unlikely to happen anytime soon...dh is away for the whole weekend helping out his Dad and then the following weekend we're starting to move...
He was out again last night though and I've told him that he'll only be able to go out after the kids are in bed now as it just gets a bit much dealing with them all day and then having to do the whole dinner, bath bit as well without any help...
Thats great you guys had such a a good weekend!!! I like your thinking on having a great birthday when your finished with the kids - I think we'll all need to do that no matter what age it is!
Glad your feeling great! It's a crazy thing - takes so long to feel good in p/g and before long you'll be over it again! LOL! I'm not over it just yet but give me a few more weeks and I'm sure I will be! hehe.
Ok...must get organised..the kids are hovering around me on the computer...It's so frustrating sometimes when you can't get away on your own for 3 seconds...they're screaming "mine' at each other over a catalogue...gosh...
Mel - Sounds like you guys had a great weekend as well - LOL on Olivia running around! Hope you get some extra sleep as well!!
Jen - Wow at having so much stuff packed! How exciting that your moving so soon! There's still so much stuff I haven't packed yet...I'm not sure how I think it will happen but it will! LOL! I'm sure most of it will happen last minute...hehe! LOL at eating takeaway from now on!! Gosh - I haven't even though about whats going to happen with no washing for a few days while we move - that will have to be the first thing to get sorted along with bedding I suppose...I generally have to do 1 or 2 loads a day to keep on top of everything...
Kel - Big hugs...you will cope! It will get easier and easier as you build your confidence and as bubs gets bigger...Yeah at Lily sleeping better though! Thats great! and that feeding Liam is going smoother as well! Sounds like your doing a fantastic job! Gosh - those stairs sounds like a hassle...what a bugger.
Awww...don't feel old - it's just this period of breeding that does it to you! As much as I love being p/g and love having my boys there will come a time when it will become a bit about me again...I look forward to that - prob when the youngest is 1 or 2 - weaned at least then it will be time to get fit again and make myself look decent! For now it's trackies and hair in a ponytail (and flab!) LOL!

Hey Girls,
Bit of a me post today. Am so tired I took Olivia to day care and went to bed at 10am and woke up at 1230. I just cant seem to keep my eyes open at the moment. This child moves most of the time and last night...again on the floor next to the cot....she woke me up with this almighty kick that vibrated the floor. it felt like a foot step. Am hoping that she will sleep when she gets out coz shes been so active in the belly....yeah right!!!
My mums in hospital too, so have that on my mind. Actually both my parents are sick. Mum was at her gp yesterday as shes been sick for a while, finished her appointment, sat in her car and started bleeding heavily from her mouth. Dad said there was lots of blood in the car. Shes had a transfusion over night and had exploritory surgery...just finished at 1pm. Also my dads bladder cancer has come back, so he is waiting for a bed to get that taken out. Oh the dramas. Anyway, hopefully its all good and can be sorted.
Will be going to visit tomorrow with Olivia.
DH is organising a BBQ for Sunday to christen the deck...great timing. So I have decided to not clean the house today, as originally planned. Basically hes inviting his family over....I might leave town!!! I have a shopping tour on Saturday, so he has Olivia all day. Dont really want to go but am happy to leave him with it:)
Oh and are we still on Kristie and Kaz for monday at 10am? Just need a venue.
Ok, I should go otherwise I will ramble.
Take care and I will catch up soon
Love Melissa

Mel, I'm sorry both of your parents are having health problems. Fingers crossed they figure out what's up with your mum soon and that your dad get's a bed! I can't believe they make patients like that wait!!!!
Meh, it's your DH's BBQ, let him organise it all! Including the cleaning!
-
Hey there....
just a flying post before I shove my laptop in a bag, box, basket or any other recepticle I can find!!!
Will take me about a week or so I should imagine to get back online so take care to all the mummas, big bubbas, little bubbas (kel!) and tummy bubbas.
Mel, I hope your mum and dad are ok, thoughts with you.
Love to all
Jen and Beau

Hi!
Jen - Wow - Good luck with your move! I can't wait to hear all about it when you get back online!!
Melissa - I'm so sorry to hear about your parents - how scary! I hope everything gets sorted with them very soon!
I agree with Disgirl - I'd get him to organise the bulk of it if it was his brainwave! LOL!
I'm alright for a meet up on Monday still - was it 10am? How about we make it for the play centre at knox? I know where that one is - LOL!
I'm already in my pj's and in bed with the laptop! I felt so tired today after doing the shopping with the boys...they were pretty good which was nice! Chat later!
-
Urgh, had a horrible night. At least we can confirm that Ben IS allergic to strawberries! We suspected it was strawberries as well as mangoes but weren't sure. I told mum it was okay to give him a strawberry yesterday since he's had strawberry jam lately and was fine - BIG mistake! One little strawberry and we were up all night with vomitting, fever and although I didn't see any hives, he was scratching himself all over. Went to bed at 1:30am but was up every hour. Soooooo tired today! How am I going to be able to stay awake to watch the Swans tonight?!?!
-
Oh no Disgirl! Well, you definitely know to avoid them now! You'll have to have a nanna nap so you can watch the footy - LOL! You're a crack up!
Having a lazy day today...can't be bothered doing much at all...only problem is the kids will probably end up feral!
Chat later!
