yay, am first to write here
Hope you are all well. wow Mason sounds like a little bub, still in 0000. But come to think of it, I think Olivia would still be in that if it wasnt for the harness.
Anyway, am trying to get Olivia to stay in her room and fall asleep on her own. So far so good. I have had a shower and am now sitting here and shes still awake but not demanding me! Yay yay yay.

Hi guys. Well thought I would do a post while I am bf'ing here at 2am! Dodgy movie on tv. Iggy fed at 7:30 n now at 2:30. Pity I didnt go to bed till 10. Of course if I had he would have woken up every 3 hrs.
Had big plans to dtd last night but chickened out. Maybe next year.
We have a house inspection tomorrow - eek! Better do some cleaning then I guess.
Aww Iggy has just come off the BB and is asleep on my lap but his mouth is still making sucking motions in his sleep. Must be a good dream! Isn't it nice when you can get a little quiet time that you can just sit with them. Its still so amazing I finally have my little son!
Hope you are all well n enjoying your gorgeous littles ones.

Krys - Ah ha ha re DTD!!! I am a bit behind all you guys so hopefully its not in my immediate future LOL!!
Mel - I am looking forward to those times....at the mo Beau is awake and wants boob asap!
DH has just offered to take me anywhere I want to go for a time out from the house and the bub...I cant think of anything I want to do...is that sad? Three weeks ago I would have been off to the movies or hairdressers or coffee or something but now...I dont want to leave him! I went into work last week for two hours without him and started leaking for the first time...
Guys How are you getting these babies sleeping 7hrs???
Ps any advice for when bubs cries after every gulp of breastmilk at the boob? Sometimes it seems like it hurts him to breastfeed so I end up bottle feedind him EBM - I "burp" him at the breast, lightly wrap him sometimes cause he kicks so much but to no avail - it can be really upsetting for me and him....any one else have this problem?

jen: i wonder if there is too much milk coming into his mouth? mason gets upset when this happens...

It took us 6 weeks to get to sleeping for 7 hours so you will get there

Mason slept so well again last night! But as usual, has been awake now since 9am!

    Did I miss something?????
Olivia is 8 weeks old and she hasnt slep 7 hours yet. The most shes slept is 4 hours and thats usually during the day and thats including from the start of one feed til the next
Oh how I would love 7 hours. I was happy last night coz she slept from 11pm (feed included) til 250am. (sorry about counting the minutes, lol)
At the moment during the day, I can only get her to cat nap for about half an hour, leaving me with not being able to do much.
Well, we got the poo sample results back and they were normal, although today she had really bad runs all over my mums hands lol and unfortunately got it all over the hip harness. OOPPSS. Its so difficult to keep that thing clean, especially when we cant take it off her at all. So now we have matching yellow shoulder straps from vomiting last week to matching....the rest of it from poo. My mum and I had to sponge bath her and try and rub it off and then we had the hair dryer on the harness trying to dry that and at the same time not burn Olivia. It was very entertaining. I cant wait for the harness to come off. Am hoping its only for 6 weeks and not 12. Well we have 4 weeks til review. Hopefully it doesnt smell too bad and lucky its not hot weather either.
OOOh i'm rabbiting on. Oh and I have to wait another week for vacinations coz of the poo issue... that will give me time to brave up
Hope you are all keeping well
    Love Melissa

Yeah I guess you're right Caro. Before the harness she was most comfy on her side or her tummy. Am hoping that sleeping will change once its off

    Hi!

Not much happening here today...another quiet day which is nice. Louis has passed his sniffles onto Dylan though and he's a bit grumpy poor little monkey. He had a pretty unsettled night actually...

Melissa - Good luck with the self settling...my babies are never good at that!! hehe. Those long "sleeps" are the beginning of a feed to another...so sometimes it's not all sleeping but just time between feeds...
Have you tried resettling her after she wakes from the nap. Dylan wakes up heaps - usually does a burp and then takes a few minutes of cuddles and goes back to sleep. Sometimes it's worth trying as they may sleep for another hour or more!
OOh the harness sounds awkward - I hope it's only the 6 weeks as well!

Krysalyss - I know exactly what you mean...Dylan had a late feed last night around 10pm so I thought I'd get heaps of sleep but no it wasn't to be. If he'd fed at 8 he would have had a heaps longer sleep! Grrr! Hope you got your cleaning done! Don't stress about dtd - just do it when your ready.

Dh just gave me $200 to go shopping with! (that's for my b'day as well) so I suppose he thinks he'll be getting some tonight! LOL!

Jen - Give yourself some time! Before long you will enjoy getting out of the house! It's all so new still! Dylans only done the 7h thing a few times now....it isn't his norm thats for sure. He normally goes 5 or 6 hours once a day....he feeds around 3 - 31/2 hourly through the day though.
Sounds like Dylan a couple of weeks ago - sometimes it's when you have let down and it just comes out to fast for them. Dylan still cries sometimes because I nearly drown him - LOL. They grow out of it. This could also be why your having wind problems with bubba - it's just the same with me! It's a bugger but there's not much you can do except feed with ebm...but I know I couldn't be bothered with that all the time.

Caro - Hi! Hope things are cruisy for you guys!

Ooh forgot to add! Just checked Dylans head before and he's starting to get a flat spot (Louis did also) so I encourage all of you to check before it gets to severe! I'm on the waiting list now for the physio at my hospital as he's to comfy facing one way and doesn't want to got the other which can result in tight neck muscles. This is exactly what happened with Louis as well.
All you have to do it change your cot/bassinette around so they face the other way and pop them in bouncers things the opposite to what you're used to if that makes sense to make sure they use both sides evenly....
Hopefully no-ones in the same boat anyway...

    Hi all,

Very funny posts to catch up on and some really lovely heartwarming ones too girls!

Christy - yes - looking forward to Noosa like you wouldn't believe. DH's dad has a place there so free accommodation always helps! And I agree with the others - not childish at all to feel that rush that they love you the most - it's heaven!!! can't wait til Mimi gets to that older point of really knowing me and looking around for me. still only 3 weeks and still behaving like a newborn. Glad that you are loving your little treasure so much. lovely post to read. xx

Danni - sounds like Mason is giving you some great sleep! can't believe he is still in 0000s....Mimi is moving out of some of hers now....

Kristie - sounds like all is good with you too. LOL at new mcdonald's farm on your bath. Ella LOVES that show. haven't started to get the flat spot yet. Ella got it really badly but Mimi seems to swap her head position a lot so hoping that will help....

Melissa - don't stress - the long stretch will come! I look forward to it regularly too....how is the self settling going? I am a believer in it - worked a treat with Ella and Mimi seems to be taking to it well too. good luck with it anyway.

JenSam - you and I are in the same boat re DTD - ours was more recent and am enjoying my 6 week leave of absence!!! LOL.

Krysalyss - LOL re DTD comment from you too. Love that quiet time with Mimi while feeding and having her fall asleep. it's such a special bond isn't it!

Caro - how is all with Michael? hope that he is doing well for you still.

Hope I haven't missed anyone! Have been scrolling back and forth to re-read to make sure....

anyway, all good here. Mimi asleep and hoping for a long stretch from her . Am pretty tired tonight. she is really filling out now though and losing those skinny concave legs. skin is really improving and is just gorgeous.

have a great night everyone and hoping for lots of sleep for all!

    gigi xx

Kel - the one wake up doesn't always work out unfortunately! But at her age I am lucky that I get it most nights....last night was not like that though....sounds like Lily is just divine...

    hey guys,
    glad he finally settled kristie!
Mason slept perfectly from 7:30pm till 12:30am...but was awake for 2 hours. I put him in the damn carrier again and went to sleep in bed. But he didnt wake up until 6:30am and my boobs were so full they were gunna explode.

I expressed 400ml, from them both and they were still dripping. oowww the pain

Am going to pick up Masons free pixie foto today and do some shopping. Mum is buying a car seat for her car so that will be good at times.

See you tomorrow kristie! should i bring something?

Christy - a new bed sounds awesome - I think ours died struggling under my increased weight while pregnant LOL Hope your cold clears up.
Kris - McDonalds farm show...ahhh all of that is ahead of me...

Caro - will read posts thanx
Minimatron - hope the harness comes off soon too - what a hassle for you ((hugs))
Gig- I too am looking forward to all the new developments with the bubba - cant wait for smiles and giggles the most, I think we have one cheeky boy on our hands already he he! Glad you are doing so well...
Me - We went for a nice breakfast out this morning and then came home and fed and then went for a big walk thru Newtown for an hour and a half, Beau is still asleep in his pram...didnt have an outing yesterday so making up for it today!

    Hi ladies,

Well, we had a busy day yesterday. We went to get Lily checked out- she's put on 1.1kg's since birth!!! She's a little porker, now you know why my ticker says 'our piggy lil' LOL! She's got such chubby cheeks, a double chin and is collecting a series of very cute rolls on her thighs! She's grown 3cm too. The dr said she's growing well- she's just long for her age so it's ok that she's heavier. I was worried I was overfeeding her since she partially bf, but also taking a whole bottle too...

We then we went to see a friend and her little girl for a few hours (where I scored some beautiful 2nd hand clothes. Lots of pumpkin patch and other good brands! Gotta love hand me downs!), went shopping for a few things, then went to mums. I was glad we went to mums since she cooked us dinner. Lil was a bit unsettled for the arvo, but once she got to mums she slept for a few hours and so did I! I was buggered, it was the first time I've gone out alone with her. It went pretty well really, except she wouldn't sleep.

Kristie, I hope Dylan is felling a bit better. Lil had the sniffles a week or so ago and was a grumpalump too, all she wanted was to be bf and sleep on me.
You lucky girl getting $200, go forth and spend!! Spoil yourself and don't buy anything for anyone else, hehehe.
Lily has a flattened right side of her head. It's not really bad and I didn't even notice it until the dr pointed it out. She always sleeps with her head turned to the right so we have to make sure she turns it left as well!

Danni, I can't believe Masons still in 0000! Lil is into 000 and will be in 00 probably in a few weeks I think. He must be such a little bear!
Your parents group sounds good, I was thinking of doing something too, I will have to look for a group of some sort in sydney...
I can't believe you got 400ml from your bb's! No wonder Mason's getting bigger... I could never get more than about 50ml from both bb's when I expressed. I haven't needed to express for a few weeks now because Lily only has a little bit from me now.

Gigi, yes, Lily is divine. I still look at her in awe to think she's mine. I still get teary sometimes, LOL!
You are lucky to get long stretches of sleep. Lily is awake every 3 1/2hrs usually. She's like a clock, hehe. Though last night we only had one wake up so that was good, with two four hour stretches. But she made up for it because she did wake at 6:30.

Christy, You lucky thing getting a new bed. I'd love a new bed, we've had ours for about 8yrs now! Time for a new one ....when we can afford it!

Today has been very quiet. Lily has slept pretty much from about 9:30, only waking for some food! She must be catching up for yesterday. I have managed to do some cleaning, washing and folding the copious amounts of washing we seem to accumulate these days and putting my maternity clothes away and geting out my other clothes finally, luckily I fit into most of them, though they are a bit tighter than before. I will now clean the kitchen and prepare dinner... never know when the quiet will be broken!

I hope you all have a lovely day,

    Kellie
